A breakfast salad in a garden.
I get cantaloupe and delicate flowers, and honey. The finish is a musky trail of almonds that lingers six inches above the skin for an hour.
    It’s too pretty for me.

Fabulously fresh and light…finally a cucumber that is green and nutty and not fruity or sweet…I find this very unisex as there’s nothing sweet about it…I am loving the unusual pairings that Shay & Blue has to offer…

I did get some almond on the opening. It is quite ozonic and aquatic. I get a lot of cucumber. The mimosa comes through but not much which is a shame for me. I can imagine polite English ladies appreciating this low key fresh scent. Nice to wear on a summers day whilst munching cucumber sandwiches. There is certainly nothing to offend or overwhelm anyone in this scent.
It doesn’t develop much but perhaps the cucumber and almond blossom become a touch more obvious.
I get below moderate longevity and sillage.

I bought a sample of this. At first I wasn’t keen on it as it smelled a bit medicinal but as it dried down it became a lot nicer. It’s fresh and crisp but not a wow for me

I don’t smell any almond, which is disappointing. Maybe I just don’t know what almond blossom is supposed to smell like but to my nose it’s just a sweet watery cucumber. Doesn’t last long either only about 2 to 4 hours.
I blind bought a small bottle of this since I found the idea of almond and cucumber really intriguing. Anyway, I would discourage you from a blind buy. Get a sample first if you can or try it in a store. Honestly, this one has sort ruined any interest I have in the brand, I’d say if the scents in this line appeal to you try something from Dame Perfumery, Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea range, or the Body Shop instead. Those all smell great and have better performance and are less expensive than this.

In the initial spray, I got nothing but wet cucumber and a mild sweetness in the backdrop, that may be the almond blossom.
The perfume stays pretty linear as the hours go by, however gradually sweets up. It’s a very unusual scent but certainly not unpleasant. Just very green!
Perfect for a work out scent. The longevity is pretty good – 7+ hrs on my skin. Highly recommend this perfume for lovers of clean/fresh scents!

The longer I wear this the more I love it. Since I was probably 5 or 6 my two favorite scents in the world have been coconut and cucumber. Sadly cucumber is almost always paired with mellon which ruins the scent for me. At last someone paired cucumber with something else and wow does it work!
This goes on cool and refreshing, quite sweet at first but it settles out to a bright clear cucumber water sweetened a bit by almond. It’s pretty linear but I dont’ mind one bit. I imagine on a hot day this would be like walking around with a cool mister. If you are a fan of cucumber you really need to try this.
For me it’s well balanced, but the cucumber is definitely dominate here so if you’re hoping for mostly nuts this is one to avoid.

I received a decant of this today. I put it on and I immediately loved the smell of this…for my wife. It smells very fresh and pleasing. I had her smell it and she liked it a lot. So I ordered her a 30ml bottle from Lucky Scent. I can’t wait until it arrives and you puts on a full application. She’s going to smell wonderful.
As far as men go, I think a man could wear this. Certainly during spring time in a casual setting or when just getting out of the shower to relax for the evening. It wouldn’t be appropriate for a business situation or a romantic one in my opinion.

Too much cucumber, not enough almond.

Almond Cucumber opens with a strong herbal watery cucumber note, just like a spa. I felt like I was having a cucumber masque treatment initially. Then after about 45 minutes the almond notes come in and soften the mix, with the almond dominating in a powdery way for an hour or so. Finally the drydown meshes the two main notes and adds some powder via the mimosa. Not an unpleasant scent but overall it smells like a spa on a cruise ship. I don’t want to smell that way all day long. Very unisex overall. Lasted 6 to 7 hours on my skin.

Very unusual, definitely cucumber-y, not particularly pleasant to my nose. Cucumber comes racing out of the nozzle, and the blend quickly settles down to something I can only describe as cucumbers on toast which has been left sitting on a plate for a little too long. It smells “unfinished,” in a way comparable to some Jo Malone fragrances, but craft-y, as opposed to art-y. Not rustic, which can be affable, but craft-y, know what I’m saying? But where Jo Malone succeeds with a certain kind of polish to their compositions, and beautiful, simple presentation, Shay and Blue flops with tacky packaging obviously designed to capture the intersection of the niche, naturals, and designer markets.
The Shay and Blue rep at the dept. store I was shopping at probably didn’t help my overall impression, either. Samples were being pushed at me aggressively while quietly perusing other, unrelated products, and the tone of the conversation gave me the distinct feeling she thought that because I am a man, I didn’t know any better and had no idea that Shay and Blue is “all the rage with mums and girlfriends at the moment” (her words). I learned soon after that they had developed a reputation for those tactics.
Ultimately, however, what it comes down to is the juice, and I must say I don’t think its quality, blending, or scent matches it price tag.

I have been trying to sample this for a while now, rather annoyingly my local m&s do not stock this particular scent although they do stock the other scents from shay & blue, maybe they feel this isn’t as popular as the other scents in the range, anyhoo this is a deceiving little minx, I had to blind order direct from shay & blue, lovely modern elegant bottle and indulgent presentation box, at first spray I get a sudden blast of ‘ grandma smell’ very old school, this thankfully quickly subsides into juicy melon, with a slight toasted nut trying to edge its way in, it also has a modern clean smell like catching a quick whiff of laundry whilst the washing machine is on, it’s simply delightful on its dry down, airy and light, if fairies are real ( and I suspect they are 😉 this is how their homes would smell ) please do not be put off by the initial ‘ old lady’ smell from first spray, as the perfume quickly evolves into something quite quirky and strangely comforting, this is a perfume just made for all those like minded individuals who loath splashing out a small mortgage payment on overpriced ‘ designer….let’s all smell the same’ fragrances ‘ rammed’ down our throats on every TV commercial, I applaud shay and blue, thank god for ‘ something different ‘ I shall certainly be purchasing more from this newer brand x

A great scent, but a little too weird for me. Cucumber and almond? It shouldn’t go together but it does. Cool, slightly sweet and melony cucumber mixes with the nutty, very creamy almond. It is a pleasant scent, with a slightly aquatic vibe due to the melon molecule. If you don’t like melon, I would advise against this. The almond is less prominant, but still there. Sillage and longevity are both good.

Smells exactly what it says it smells like but the other way around. Cucumber and Almond. Not sure why I thought that would be a good thing. I will say longevity is great. Its a scent that someone will like but for me it is a pass

I wrote a positive mini review of this on the forum already but I think I spoke too soon?
The opening is fantastically fresh truly a wonderful mixture of two things which shouldn’t work but just do…a very juicy, refreshing and watery Cucumber note with a creamy richer almond.
The two are often used in those exfoliating products that tend to be used by or aimed primarily at women. That’s not say I think this is feminine because it’s a fresh scent which is quite inert and just can’t help but just evoke an air of cleaniness. The almond is not sweet and the balance with the cucumber is just right however after the opening it’s a different story.
Mimosa will never be a favourite perfume ingredient for me and as this dries down the mimosa becomes extremely intrusive and in this context giving an awful moisturizing cream vibe, which I do not care for in the slightest!
It works, it’s a complementary ingredient to the almond and cucumber but similarly with heliotrope I find it quite floral and not in a sweet way but a good partnership for the almond nevertheless.
Some will love this one and I can see why it’s a good perfume and surprisingly lasts a long time but not for me I’m afraid after the first ten minutes it turns into a sour white/yellow floral, hand cream mess.
Shame, I will give the 10ml bottle I got to my missus she’ll wear it!

A lovely ozonic/aquatic fragrance for those who may not be too keen on the category. When I initially tested this, my first impression was of sweet watermelon more than anything, cool and fresh. I assume this is the combination of the almonds with the freshness of the cucumber. It is quite linear on me, with a hint of yellow floral in the background, but stays sweet, clean and fresh.

    A nice fresh/clean fragrance.
The notes detailed at the top are quite accurate to my nose.
Opens with freshly cut cucumber, green grass and rain. Almond in the background. Dries down into a fresh linen type scent holding on to the cucumber all the way along, though it does fade. I do get yellow flowers in there as well but in the background as suggested above. While always fresh, it does seem to become a bit febreeze-like towards the end.
Not sweet nor dry. Does a fantastic job of playing in the middle here. For a casual day out. Not an elegant or overly complex fragrance, but will get noticed.
Can’t see a man wearing this. A nice, well-blended, clean/fresh scent for a woman which is very balanced. Just what the title says it is. If you like the idea of fresh cucumber, (some grass) and almond, with a subtle aquatic quality about the whole thing…you will enjoy this.

To me Almond Cucumber is the winner out of the whole range offered by this house. I would have never thought of pairing up these two notes but it does work wonderfully.
The cucumber is so clean, fresh and realistic that I could just bite into it. And then there is this tiny hint of powdery almond lurking in the background to make it sweet and not too aquatic.
It`s gourmand, definitely, but not in a sticky sweet way, it`s just really edible cucumber and almond, just like the name suggests.
I get medium longevity (4-5 hours on my skin) and soft sillage.
I`m considering buying a bottle for the upcoming spring and summer, this fragrance is a very original, unusual take on almonds and gourmands, and I definitely recommend.
