Description

The new version of the famous men’s fragrance Chanel Allure Homme is arriving as a luxury edition in a simple light-colored but elegant bottle. In the history of Chanel house color white has played a significant role.

This time the accent is put on the fragrance for men created by Jacques Polge as a ‘diamond fragrance’, what means that this is a fragrance with many facets, or to be precise, the strength of the fragrance is reappearing with the fragrant levels.

The first level brings spicy aromas of black pepper united with pink pepper from Madagascar. The second level brings in fresh aromas with the scent of leather, Sicilian lemon, Calabrian bergamot, and sandalwood which gives it a depth.

The third level introduces oriental accords with Brazilian Tonka, white musk, Haiti vetiver and sandal wood. This level also reveals aromas of ginger and velvety vanilla wrapped in amber. The fourth level brings woodsy accords of cedar wood which add to the masculine character of this fragrance.

It is available since February 2008 and comes as 50ml (1.7 fl.oz.) and 100ml (3.4 fl.oz.) EDT and50ml (1.7 fl.oz.) and 100ml (3.4 fl.oz.) after shave.

Lemon and vetiver. That’s about it. In fact, it’s mostly lemon. Lemon cream pie? Nope, not even close. More like lemon pledge. I barely get any vanilla. I’m so done with these hyped up fragrances. I much prefer the original Allure Homme.

I hate the damn ” Pie ” comparison this juice gets.
    It smells awesome.
    Ladies love it.
    Great fall scent.
Not very masculine but any man could wear it.
    Doesn’t last long, 3-4 hours
But very unique, you can stand out wearing it because a lot of folks don’t get their hands on this one.

Smells Got damn awesome. Heres the thing this version doesn’t last, get the par – fum or be prepared to spray this every hour.

This is an excelent fragrance! Does anybody know where I can buy the same either 1.7 or 3.4 oz 2008 EDT version?

Nice lemon scent with a bit of depth.
Crap projection and longevity, so pointless buying it.

This is refreshing, the ingredients work together well. The Sicilian lemon highlighted by pink pepper, bergamot, and vanilla in the opening is WAAAY nicer than I’d imagined.
Scent-wise, I understand why it’s pricey. However, at this price, I’d expect a wee bit better longevity. Another exquisite juice that landed on my wishlist! 😀

I also don’t get the lemon pie or much sweetness. My nose picks up more of the lemon and pepper in the dry down. Unfortunately, the opening reminds me of citronella, but after about 20 minutes, it’s all lemon and pepper, which tapers nicely with me. I can see this working well in summer heat and even the fall if you’re into spicy freshness.
    Edit: I have the EDP.

Not a fan of Allure and its flankers, but this one is quite good. The waxy lemon, bergamot and pink pepper and sharp white pepper, ginger, and leather over a base of white musk is surprisingly pleasant. Where it fall short is with the nice, but cheap-smelling, Australian sandalwood. Also a poor value-for-dollar choice.

It does smell somewhat like lemon myringue pie but it’s nothing to write home about in my opinion as a fragrance due to the subpar performance. It also leans feminine. It’s ok.

I didn’t want to get onto the hype train. I didn’t care much about that famous lemon pie scent everyone was talking about. I even heard it could become discontinued. It seems like it will stay on the market.
So, I really didn’t care much about edition Blanche until I decided to smell it at the store. Right the next day, I was ordering my very own bottle online and I’m so glad I did.
The hype is justified. I don’t get the lemon pie comparison that much but it’s rather a creamy lemony scent with a wonderful mix of mild spices and one of the best dry down of sandalwood and vetiver.
To make it short and simple, Edition Blanche is simply the happiest fragrance in my collection. It’s a total mood lifter, it makes people smile. It’s a gentleman scent with a nice gentle touch. Not overly sweet, not juvenile in any way, just a scent with incredible characteristics. This is spring and summer in a bottle and one of Jacques Polge best creation.
I’m considered to be a dark person, dark mood, etc. And some people wondered if that scent fitted my kind of personality. I don’t know and I don’t care, it fits with my nose and that’s enough for me.
So, it’s energetic, uplifting, optimist and bright but never in an annoying kind of way. Don’t forget, it’s a gentleman scent.
To me, it’s in the same genre as Guerlain Lhomme Ideal Cologne edition. Both are lemony, creamy with superb spices to give it a kick. They both fit for mild weather.
Just wow… I’m happy I jumped aboard the hype train. The tickets are a bit expensive but what a ride.
If you’re like me and you prefer to stay away from the hype, you might want to give this one a shot. this is niche quality, nice ingredients, amazing sandalwood. Everything is right on spot.
Edition Blanche is a nice cousin to allure extreme and Bleu de Chanel.
    Thanks for reading my review!

Creamy lemon cake with moderate longevity and sillage. I absolutely love this scent and it’s well worth the price tag. Bring a travel atomizer and reapply at lunch.

One of the prettiest fragrances ever. This is probably the best in Chanel’s mainstream designer line-up. Mostly linear but has a really beautiful clean smell of sophistication. There’s definitely Citrus and Creaminess from vanilla.
Something to wear with clean white shirts and khakis. I wore this to an interview last year and the lady interviewing me smiled and said “You smell nice”.
Performance is not the best but I’d still keep it in my collection.

Very good smell but very poor performance. Prefer Xerjoff Nio instead !

I’ve tried this three times and I like it less every time. It’s frankly a bit boring. Excellently executed soft lemon for the guy that wants to smell clean and mature. Very versatile and good performance. But for me it doesn’t do much else and for the price I would expect to be blown away. I would wear it a lot if someone else bought it for me

  17. :

    4 out of 5

This smells like a lemon merangue pie almost. It smells really nice, but I cant for the life if me think of a situation where I would want to wear this. You might think that a hot summer day because of the citrus, but I feel like this is too rich for that. Night time? Too bright feeling. Winter? Maybe but I own 100 other frags that would be a better choice than this one.
Like I said, great fragrance. But not versatile in the least

  18. :

This fragrance is one of the better lemon-based scents that I have gotten to try. The lemon is completely noticeable throughout. To me, the opening is a 100% dead ringer of Lemonhead Candy (At least that’s where my mind initially went). Just a few minutes later the vanilla and pepper move to the forefront with the lemon and the scent softens a bit. I don’t get lemon pie precisely at this point as others have said…but its close
My wife really loves this. I just wish it projected a bit more and lasted longer. I probably get about 3-4 hours of decent use before it becomes a skin scent.
    Scent: 9.25/10
    Longevity: 3-4 hours
    Sillage: Soft

    Sentence(s) Summary:
Lemon scented Baked Alaska Meringue fluff. It has a fuzzy, spiky texture to it initially (pepper?) then smooths out to a creamy, woody base. I get a warmth from it which, I think, makes it more suitable for Spring than the height of Summer. Classy.
    Overall rating 8/10

I get the hype — I really do. But had to pass on Allure Homme Edition Blanche. Since I don’t like the smell of lemons enough, and already own Dior Homme Cologne.

All I smell is lemon. Becomes skin scent under an hour. Very weak fragrance for $100+

  23. :

    This is a bit hyped
    It’s pretty boring to me
    Creamy/milky lemon cake
Bit woodiness at the dry down
Nothing is extraordinarily great about it
    Average to low performance
Versatile summer frag, but for the Cost it is Not really worth it.
    Any age less than 60
Instead I would recommend Lalique white ( maybe similar in terms of performance but white is a bit more interesting)
    5/10

This fragrance is my favorite from the house of Chanel (with the original egoiste following closely behind).
However, I am a bit disappointed that Fragrantica does not list the EDT CONCENTREE (CONCENTRATE) VERSION OF THIS FRAG. I own 2 150ml (5 Fl. Oz.) bottles of the EDT Concentree version of Edition Blanche. I wanted to review it but I guess I have to do it under this edition (The regular EDT).
First of all, the concentree version of Allure Edition Blanche has EXCELLENT SILAGE. When compared to the EDP (of which I own a 3.4 fl oz. bottle) they are like night and day. That is, the EDT concentree version knocks the EDP version right out of the park. The only let down was the longevity which I was expecting to be fantastic, but it only lasts (on me) about 3 hours, which is the same amount of time I get from the EDP version. HOWEVER, the Sicilian Lemon and Vanilla ARE BLASTING in the concentree version whereas in the EDP it is toned down quite a bit. I mean after using the concentree, the EDP seems like a typical skin scent.
This fragrance on the whole is EXCELLENT for the summer, but could easily be worn in other months too. It is very versatile. It could be worn night or day, although I prefer to wear it in the daytime. This is due to the fact that it is what I call a BRIGHT fragrance. It really lightens the mood and is heavily complimented by friends and strangers alike. It’s also IMHO, a VERY safe blind buy. I’ve haven’t run into someone yet who didn’t like it.
Final Scores (for the EDT CONCENTREE):
    Sillage: 8/10
Longevity: 6/10 (on my skin at least)
    Versitility: 9/10
    Overall: 8.5/10

Bvlgari for men 1996 was fine frag. very gentle but present. This Chanel is simmilar to that original Bvlgari but as I remember nobody complimented me while wearing Bvlgari, it was so…shy. I don’t think that anyone will ever give you compliment for wearing this, it is for your personal joy. Very pleasant smell, very quality and elegant smell, but if you want to be noticed, Chanel Allure Sport is the way to go!

  30. :

Luxury, elegance and high quality. The three factors which this fragrance primarily represents. Modern and classic at the same time. One of the best lemony scent ever!

  31. :

    4 out of 5

It’s so shame this has a below average performance. Longevity is ok, especially on clothes , but silage is unacceptable for the price point. This is a skin scent from the beginning.
But the scent itself it is GORGEOUS!!! That’s why it is my signature (skin) scent. If this had better performance it would be the best men fragrance (at least for me).
Should you buy it or not?
Well, depends on your perspective on perfumes.
If you buy perfumes for the olfactory experience and because you ‘re a collector, I highly recommend this one.
If you ‘re not, then I would say you should better skip this one, especially if you are on a budget

Not a bad one, I like it, but very very overrated and ovepriced. Sorry, but I can’t use the word „masterpiece” when I sniff a perfume with 90% lemon… This stuff has two levels: the first 1.5 hours a I get a loud, long lasting top note: 95% lemon with 3% bergamot and 2% mixed pepper. 1.5 hours later the scent calm down and beside the lemon I get a great combination of vetiver, sandal, musk, leather and a very very small amount of vanilla. This part of the fragrance is far better than the top note. Not versatile, good only in hot summer days
    – summer/daytime scent
    – sillage and longevity slightly better then average, longevity around 6-7 hours
    – try before buy (maybe)
    Scent (open, top-mid): 6.5/10 (x2)
    Scent (drydown, base): 9/10 (x2)
    Sillage: 6.5/10
    Longevity: 6.5/10
    Uniqueness: 6.5/10
    Versatility: 6/10
    Total: 7.063/10

c sauce. that is hilarious. lol. I really like blanch but i find to make it last you need to apply a couple sprays, let it dry and then two more squirts.seems to be one of those scents that to make it last you have to choke people for the first hr so i apply 1/2 hr before i leave the house. Anyway gorgeous creamy lemon to start followed by a really classy drydown.my favourite in the allue line. i dont use it regularly but for a treat, i think its one of those that you could get a bit sick of if used too often. I think the same applies to homme sport and eau extreme. On me it projects well for 2 hrs before mellowing down quite a bit and then becoming a skin scent after about 5hrs so average performance. overall its a 8/10 from me.

This is the nicest-smelling lemon toilet bowl cleaner I’ve ever used. I threw out all my Lysol and Mr Clean because Allure does a much better job of removing tough stains and foul odours. Keep your bathroom pure with Allure.

Creamy lemon. Very dense but not heavy. Similar to AHS except you get all lemon here instead of orange. That makes for a lighter, slightly better (to my nose) overall scent. It’s like the best parts of Chanel Allure Homme Sport and Dior Homme Sport mashed together.
Longevity is just about average (4-6 hours) on my skin for this sort of scent.
An 8.0/10 for me. Worth seeking out for a summer scent that is a bit different than others and will get compliments.

Think the original Allure homme with a sweet creamy lemon wash over the top, so tasty you want to eat it. One of the best fragrances from Chanel IMO, the whole allure line in fact is a big thumbs up from me!

I was thinking about blind buying this due to the great reviews but i am glad i didn’t. Not because of the scent, it smells great! But it is extremely and i mean EXTREMELY similar to L’humaniste, which i already own. No point having 2 that smell so similar! If you don’t already have L’humaniste though, then this is a worthy addition.

I’m fortunate I could purchase an EDT edition about batch code from 2013.05 production. Lasts very long on me with more than enough projection. I think it would be at top 3 at every collection. ( As I see projection and longevity can be increased if it stored at refrigerator) 🙂

    Opening: bittersweet citruses (lemon)
    Dry-down: creamy, almost gourmand, woody.
    Feeling: pure, soft, classy, elegant
    Beautiful blend, very Chanel-like
    Performance is medium.

The version of Allure Homme Edition Blanche that I’ll be reviewing is for my bottle that was produced in January of 2014. It is part of the last run of Eau de Toilette concentrations for the fragrance, before Chanel changed over completely to an Eau de Parfum concentration (in 2014), which is the only iteration available on their website as of today. The purpose of this review is just to provide some clarification among the different versions and to help the reader know what to expect from this particular batch/variety.
The most recent iteration of Allure Homme Edition Blanche Eau de Toilette is still a very nice, high quality scent though it has undergone some changes in terms of its smell from the original Eau de Toilette that first gained popularity. I would describe the current version as “creamy lemons” whereas the earlier version could be described as “vanilla cream and lemons.” The big difference is that the old one had more of a creamy vanilla quality to it (which I have to admit I liked a little bit more). The new one loses some of that vanilla smell while boosting the lemony aspect. It retains its creamy texture however and still comes across smooth and warm. I also believe the older version had more pronounced sandalwood and vetiver notes in the base. In fact the old version I almost thought of as a woody fragrance first and foremost, as the vetiver became very pronounced on my skin after about an hour into its development. The woody base of the current iteration is more reserved, and not as obvious as it had been. Performance is still very good with solid projection and above average longevity (especially for a citrus fragrance). Keep in mind that this review is for the most recently available EDT, not the original one; it also is not for the current Eau de Parfum. Though my bottle looks exactly the same as the current EDP, if I look on the bottom of it, it is marked “Eau de Toilette.”
In my opinion, the most interesting (and best) version of Edition Blanche is the original EDT, which features more creamy vanilla and pronounced woods. The 2014 version of the EDT lacks the vanilla and pronounced wood notes and seems to be much more in line with the currently available Eau de Parfum (though it’s still a nice scent). The only thing I’m not sure of is when the last batch of the “creamy vanilla” EDT was produced, before it became more lemon-centered. This could be worth investigating, and I believe it most likely occurred some time during 2013 (reviews noting an absence of vanilla started rolling in around June, 2013).. Either way, it’s a good idea to check the batch code of the bottle before making a purchase, and if you’ve found an EDT from 2012 or earlier, chances are it will have that original creamy lemon meringue pie that everyone raves about and which is missing in the most recent formula. I would snatch a bottle like that up.
I would still give the current formula a thumbs up overall. It’s a fine scent, just a bit lacking in comparison to its earlier form.

Never have I been so dedicated to a single fragrance over a period of time. I’m the kind of person who loves change and the breakage of the monotony of life. So, even for work, I change my fragrance daily, where the longest consistent timespan of a fragrance is maximally 2 days.
With Allure Homme Edition Blanche, I’ve become a different person. I have worn this fragrance almost daily for a period of a month. It has become my daily driver for work, and even when I come home, I re-apply.
Aside from the anecdote, Edition Blanche is a peppery lemony fragrance. It is sweet and sour, and ultimately pleasant. It reminds me of floating on a bed of clouds, that mesmerizes my olfactory bulb. Next to YSL L’Homme it is my safest work fragrance, but in addition to that it is extremely unique.
The performance is where I wished more from. I always re-apply during lunch with this one. In the end it lasts for around 6-8 hours, but after 2 hours the projection is minimal. Before those initial hours, average performance at best. For those looking for compliments, I have only gotten one. This is not a fragrance for compliments. If it was stronger, you’d be fishing more.
Edition Blanche (mine is the EDTc) is probably my most pleasant unique fragrance. Signature scent worthy, just remember to re-apply during lunch.

  46. :

    4 out of 5

Why is this called blanche? nothing about it evokes the color white. Even the bottle is a matte golden like the iPhones, so why not just call it edition jaune or d’or.
Now that’s out of the way, this is one of the most beautiful creamy lemon note. There is perfect harmony between the lemon zestiness and creaminess of the sandalwood. This is not the screechy synthetic lemon pledge, but the most natural and right out of the oven lemon meringue pie. It’s so delicious that you just want to take a bite out of it. That is what I have heard a lot of women say. It does lean a little towards the formal mature side, but anyone can really pull this one off.
I do feel it’s quite linear and you do get bored of it rather quickly. Edition Blanche does have the versatility for all seasons and would be a great addition for anyone who wants a unique gourmand scent. Unfortunately, this pie is not for me i’d rather have the almond vanilla Givenchy pi.

  47. :

    5 out of 5

I honestly thought I wouldn’t like this more than Allure Homme Sport, but I do. This fragrance has a zesty and creamy depth to it that Sport lacks. It also has much weaker performance than Sport. If Edition Blanche had the same kick as Sport, it would bump this fragrance up from great to amazing. I wouldn’t consider this a gourmand, but I totally see why others might.
Overall a really good fragrance, imo.

Add citrus, vanilla, amber, musk and whisk. Nahhh! I am not going there. This scent is so fun and fresh. I love the lemon and vanilla notes in this scent. The vetiver, amber and pink pepper give this scent an earthy roundness, before it veers off into lemon creaminess. This scent is a great flanker to the Allure Homme line and to me is a real beast in a crisp spring air. CAHED is youthful and mature at the same time, which is a real testament to how well this scent is composed. CAHED is perfect for when you might be on an adventure with your lady to do some exploring, or just a simple walk in the park, all while finishing the day by trying to find that perfect eclair (maybe a citrus meringue?).

  49. :

I bought this for my boyfriend today and as time went by I smelled something that reminded me of something. Suddenly I knew: amber musk from Aerin Lauder. The dry down of this smells almost identical of amber musk. I am in heaven as I love amber musk but the longevityn is a joke. This Chanel is very unisex, or at least I convinced myself so I can use this 😀

  50. :

    5 out of 5

I enjoyed this at first, but now the lemon note is way too overpowering and cloying, even with a few sprays. Reminds me of a cleaning product. No longer a fan!

  51. :

    3 out of 5

I hardly notice the vanilla in this and I consider that a good thing. Very strong lemon opening that gives way to a soft sandalwood beauty. The way that the subtle vanilla blends with the soft sandalwood gives it a “creamy” vibe and the slight spice from the pink pepper is a great addition.
This fragrance is a total lady killer. Perfect for the spring and summer weather but I wouldn’t think twice about wearing it in the fall/winter either.

  52. :

    4 out of 5

Fraglawyer, are you sure you’ve bought original one…? Less than hour of longevity sounds like fake from ebay. Because mine still smells good even after 5 hours (on skin!). If sprayed on clothes, I can smell it on the next day, when I’m passing the place, where my jacket is hanged up.

  53. :

A truly underrated gem , one of the best or the best from Chanel among the lot available for men, nearly perfect for daytime especially for work. Thankfully it has nothing to do with the rest of the Allure line.

This is easily in the top 5 of the worlds best men’s colognes ever. Honestly noone even needs to review this cologne, it’s so amazing. I get 6 hours of longevity on my skin in San Diego, no issues. My bottle was purchased end of 2009, 1.7 oz edt concentree spray with its code on the back. I typically only use it 2-3 x a year for special occasions. I have half a bottle left of this once in a decade juice.

I dont’ care about how expensive, or how inexpensive a cologne is, I don’t care about how it was packed when it was shipped, or how cool, or uncool the bottle is. I only care about how great, unique and amazing the cologne actually smells. Enjoy…….

A creamy lemon meringue pie, Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche smells really wonderful. Sadly longevity and projection are also just like lemon meringue pie.
    Smell 10/10
    Projection 4/10
    Longevity (<1 hour) 2/10
UPDATE: After owning and wearing Edition Blanche for more than a year, I must revise my accessment on Projection and Longevity.
    Projection 7/10
    Longevity 8/10 (6-8 hours)
For the wearer, Edition Blanche disappears quickly. Others, however, will smell the pleasant creamy lemon aroma hours later. Beast mode it is not. But a good performer, without reservation, I would say it is.

I’ve had Edition Blanche EDT in my Scent Armory for the past few years. Overall, I find Edition Blanche to be an excellent, and unique, Spring/Summer fragrance. I keep hearing how this one smells like Lemon Cream Pie but, on my skin, it smells like a lemon aromatic blended with a touch of cedar and sandalwood. Although it has a nice creamy vibe, to my nose the vanilla, pink pepper and white musk are not prominent—hardly detectable—they just blend-in nicely to support that creamy vibe.
To be honest, I don’t love the opening since it reminds me of lemon pledge. Fortunately, the opening stanza lasts only a minute as it changes into something delightful. Moreover, this scent is so much better than the lemon cream comparisons I’ve heard mentioned as it is not a gourmand IMO. The more I wear this scent, the more I love it. The longevity is soft to average and it only projects for 1-2 hours before sitting close to my skin. However, that’s fine with me this type of classy warm-weather scent.

Finally, a lemon that doesn’t smell like dishwashing liquid! This pairing of lemon and vanilla tells me that this is really lemon’s destined place in perfumery. It even borders on delicious – I would totally eat an edible rendition of this! So smooth, so creamy, so delicious! The sprinkling of black pepper gives it the edge and extra dimension it needs – maybe adding pepper to a lemon meringue pie is not such a bad idea after all! My only complaint is the prohibitive price – if it wasn’t for that, I would be owning a bottle of this since three years ago!

Sampled it just now in the airport, and was wondering what this reminds me..
It’s creamy lemons and tons of bergamot and some woods – and all the nice things that has been said in the reviews. And then it hit me – it’s a very good and quality version of the classic Burberry for men. Tea, lemon, bergamot.. more creamy and without sour notes in the top- super similar scent.

Love-Hate Relationship for me with this fragrance,
when i spray it after a long time without wearing its like a fresh air and it makes me feel good!
but then after 10 seconds i get the citrus detergent vibe and its a turn off,
doesnt last much on my skin, probably around 1 hour before i cannot smell it on me anymore,
apparently its a people’s pleaser, but i havent got 1 compliment with it so far and i already almost finished the 50ml bottle after wearing it for around 3 years,
    nice looking bottle though…

I think it smells nice, but it’s poor longevity really hurts. None remains but a skin scent after 90 minutes

Unfortunately, one of the very few fragrances that literally give me nausea… There is something very sweet and sickeningly creamy I do not want to smell at a man

For anyone looking for a clone, Cuba Orange is the exact same fragrance but they substituted the Lemon out for orange. Same creamy note.

The epitome of a warm Spring day. The lemon gives it the fresh citrus burst while the pepper gives it some punch. Put these two together and you have the perfect warm weather scent.

This scent is creamy citrus at its best. If you are a citrus based scent lover at some point of your fragrance journey you should sniff this gem.
I collect citrus and rose based fragrances and have tested names which are not even known to fragrance communities. Citrus are notorious with performance but this one gives me decent 6 hrs .

Dusty & Creamy Vanilla accompany with the invigorating lemon zest.
Quite versatile for day and night, casual or office wear, clean in a sophisticated way. The vanilla & lemon always come together never overshadow each other.
At first I wasn’t really liking it, so I bought only the 50ml bottle. Well, to my surprise. I’m loving it like crazy each time I wear it. Planning to get the largest size available for this month after paycheck.
And ladies, good news to you. Allure Homme Edition Blanche is so versatile that I think it can be well suited by women. Try it and you will definitely surprise to fall in love with it.

I thought I’d try the original version while there was still some kicking around. There is a difference with the eau de parfum which doesn’t have the pink pepper and the amber that this does. It’s not much of a difference to be honest, but it’s enough to notice.
Allure Homme Edition Blanche Eau De Toilette Concentree lasts about six hours in total. It projects moderately: enough to be noticed for a few hours without overw
