Description

Thierry Mugler adds another edition to the Alien perfume collection (founded with the original Alien from 2005), Alien Essence Absolue, in summer 2012. The new fragrance is described as richly intense, sensual, deep and mysterious.

The composition is developed by Pierre Aulas from accords of white jasmine flowers, orris root, animalistic black vanilla pod, incense, myrrh, white amber and cashmere wood.

The bottle design is inspired by the classic Alien bottled style and gold drops used as talismans in the Orient.

Alien Essence Absolue is available as 30 and 60 ml Eau de Parfum Intense and a refill of 60 ml.

This perfume is best summed up in 3 words: sweet, warm, addictive.
As soon as my nose got a whiff of the bottle I was lusting after this fragrance.
It’s an intoxicating bomb of syrupy vanilla and heady jasmine, grounded by the incense and wood notes. To my nose I thought I detected a liquor of sorts (possibly rum) but it’s not listed above.
I almost purchased this golden elixir on impulse, but decided to give it a trial run for the day: alas after a few hours of heavy sillage and good performance (classic Mugler) my infatuation with this perfume died down. It was a summer fling too overwhelming and sickeningly sweet to be practical.
With that being said, I inhale it every time I visit my local perfume store and am so tempted to add it to my Alien collection. Will most likely buy it once Winter rolls around and this indulgent dessert becomes a bit more palatable.

I ordered a sample and bought a full bottle immediately after trying it, since it’s hard to get in my country.
It starts with strong vanilla, jasmine and booze – to me, it smells like a vanilla cake, soaked with rum. It’s fabulous.
After a while it becomes a creamy woodsy vanilla floral, just beautiful.

The vanilla in this is a little too sweet for me, makes it difficult to wear it on a cold morning for example. But goodness is it delicious! I was recommended this as a cosy scent, but I wouldn’t call it that. This is a perfume that demands to be WORN. You can’t throw on Alien Essence Absolue to go to work or to wear around the house, you wear it to a dimly lit wine bar in a shimmering gold dress, as you bedazzle every man in the room.
It has presence and I hold it in very high esteem, but ultimately it would suit a much more outgoing woman than myself.

I bought this for some reason after reading the reviews. I ended up disliking it because of the syrupy, heavy smell. A co-worker bought it from me. Every time she wears it I compliment her. Smells great on a woman, but for me, as a guy, it was too much.

@wg_jy I have been wearing this fragrance as my signature one for years I always purchase online because is way more expensive at mugler site but last two ones from reliable source have the same problem the color turned like whiskey and is skin scent no silage I’m so sad because I used to get compliments for strangers and I now I have to sniff my wrist to smell it

everyone before me had give good review. I blind bought it and just got it yesterday, so excited, and love the smell, good buy, but it just does not last on me. it becomes a skin scent within one hour if not less. Mine has a amber color liquid. is that normal?

I recently wrote that an osmanthus purist might be wracked by very paroxysms of indignation at it’s use in so vulgar & brazen a fragrance as Arsenic Osman by Laurent Mazzone: well I think a similar argument might well apply in the case of this and an orris purist. Is there really orris in this!!??
But altogether this is a stunning and magical fragrance! Is it medicinal or skanky? I can only answer that it’s medicinal-skanky. I have already decribed Mugler fragrances as witch-doctor-ish on a previous occasion – under the heading of Aura, in fact. There is something just so very locked-cabinet about it. There is just no broaching this without the authorisation of the sister of the ward and notification sent to the Home Office!
Attempting to analyse it and square that analysis with the notes-list here, I think an extraordinarily indolic jasmine and Bourbon vanilla fit quite satisfactorily – but I would say the vanilla would have to be the Bourbon type, forall it’s not being explicitly stated. And the aroma is just so wondrously taunting & haunting in the associations of sheer forbidenness that it conjures, I deny not atall that myrrh and orris are also in there in more ancilliary rôles.
And on the stonkingity Richter-scale – 9½ … and most certainly vulgar & brazen!
I do deem that I need not add that I do love this fragrance!
It says “… black vanilla pod … “. If not exactly Bourbon, then, some particularly pungeaunt manifestation of vanilla.

Yes, I can join the club for lovers of this fragrance. Bought a 5ml sample from notino and tried it today and knew very soon that I love it and need it. I can smell the alien DNA in it, but as others already said, it is smoother. Can’t say much else other than it’s just beautiful.

I really liked it for the first 2 hours – amazing scent! Heavenly. I liked the sweetness and the slight smokiness. Then, it turned into something very boring. Longevity is good – about 12 hours. Sillage is amazing for the first 2 hours, after that, sits very close to the skin. So, I wouldn’t buy it.

Oh my- This is just heavenly. I’ve been wanting a version of Alien. It always smells so lovely on others, but the amber is a bit sharp on my skin. This is a whole different ballgame. It somehow reminds me of my beloved Mackie (Bob Mackie, from the late 80’s-early 90’s). Full-bodied, warm, cozy, sexy. A fluffy sweater of vanilla/jasmine/honey. It’s late August in Florida and I couldn’t be happier to wear this gem!

This one is really nice. First it wasn’t a love for me but now I really like it. I love the vanilla, so different from the vanilla that is usually used in perfumes. Alien essence absolue has the perfect amount of sweetness and I find it to be kinda of powdery too. Good longevity but sillage is moderate, I was definitely expecting it to be stronger. In my opinion this one is much better than the original alien. I’m glad I bought a full bottle. Very interesting perfume.

Your bottle will last you so many years thoug one spray and the whole room will be be this gem

Basically my favorite perfume. While alien drifts through space, this flanker is the ancient history of alien’s home planet. Lol not to hype it up, but that’s how I see it. This is such a distinct flanker that it really has it’s own character.
I love deep, warm, balsamic vanilla and that’s what this is added to the alien jasmine and a soothing woody-amber-smoky-incense accord. It’s also super sweet in a unique vanilla incense kinda way, not really ice cream vanilla but verges on edible.
It opens with a piney, some people described it as toothpastey sort of top/mid (possibly the myrrh) with a warm vanilla-sweet-woody base. Then the strong jasmine appears and the woody base gets more ambery and smoky celestial incense, becoming intensely vanilla sweet as the opening pine dries down.
Compared to the original alien this is so much more base-heavy with the vanilla. The prominent vanilla makes this round and smoother contrasted with the sharp jasmine of the original alien. The jasmine in this is nicely smoothed out a bit by the vanilla, but there’s still a strong alien jasmine presence.
Longevity and sillage are pretty similar to alien, except I’d say this projects a little less because of the slightly toned down jasmine and the addition of vanilla, which makes it more skin close. But once again, still super strong, can easily overspray like alien.
Even though the vanilla is warm it’s still a cold-weather/night scent, although I think could be nice in small amounts in hotter weather/daytime, similar to alien.
Overall this is such a well-rounded, ethereal but bold, calming scent, almost spiritual because of the incense. I think it’s a real challenge for mugler to make another perfume on the level of this and the original alien, but I sure hope they do lol. The only part I don’t totally love is the orris root, I like the sandiness but it has this tanginess that I’d rather substitute with something like sandalwood.
    Composition: 5/5, Quality: 4.5/5

This has been one of my favorite scents for a long time, but after wearing it yesterday and receiving multiple compliments from complete strangers, it seemed prudent to post an adjective-laden review for those out there who may be considering a purchase.
I love myrrh and it’s used very successfully here. A warm balsamic sweetness permeates the fragrance, and the vanilla (usually a cheap floozy who ruins everything) is deep, rich, and accessible. Longevity and sillage are both excellent; good projection and it lasts about 8 hours on skin, 12+ on clothing.
The scent is somehow both comforting and exotic, and its heaviness is almost tangible — I consider it to be a literal accessory when I wear it. A cloak of sable-hued cashmere, if you will (because I live big in imaginary accessory world, y’all).
I’m not a gourmand person and I’m also pretty ambivalent about the original Alien formula, so I never expected to love this fragrance so much. To be honest, I assumed it would be a little basic. Instead, its beauty is such that it deserves lofty and pretentious praise in the form of an out-of-context Baudelaire quote. Some next level Baudelaire realness and whatnot. But since I’m too lazy to look one up right now, kindly insert your favorite one here. (Unless your favorite is, “I shall be your coffin, beloved pestilence!” Pick a good one, damn.)
Alien Absolue used to be pretty expensive, but the cost has gone down and you can get a bottle for a decent price. I *absoluely* recommend that you do so. (Pun cringe intensifies…)

This is gorgeous I do love it. But I’m being nitpicky and adding that the orris root is a little sour ish to me on drydown. Otherwise a good balsamic.
Upon second spray it feels a little basic. Lacking in sophistication. Perhaps because it’s a little plastic-esque and sweeter than necessary.

I love this version of Alien! I believe I wrote a review back years ago before I learned how to fully enjoy this scent where I liked it but didn’t love it. Well time change and so did my tastes because I adore this fragrance so much. I love this scent because the vanilla in this is so good! I buy a lot of vanilla perfume. But this is my number one vanilla because of how good it smells on the dry down.
This vanilla is sticky, boozy on the opening, almost like a creme brulé on the dry down but simply super well done. The Jasmine on the opening is still like its progenitor. But the two together mixed with the myrh, orris, cashmire, and incense. Love it all!
I really don’t understand what I disliked a few years ago as now I’m on my 4th bottle with a backup refill :D. It’s amazing!

Sprayed it at the shopping center, wow it’ s a fabulous fragrance strong, potent, bold and intoxicating in the way I like…. it opens with vanilla, then I appreciate amber and incense it a beautiful sweet extra bold fragrance for people who like to be noticed!
I have my Alien and I like it a lot but this one is even better, well done Mugler this is your masterpiece!!!

If you like or love “regular” Alien, but wish the florals/jasmine were toned down with some balsamic vanilla…you will LOVE this! I still love my Alien, but this version is much more my speed. It is warm, creamy, STRONG, confident and more sexy than original Alien! 1-2 sprays give me hours and hours of longevity and pretty strong sillage. Lots of compliments, but this is very potent. Please do not overspray. This is one of those FOR SURE a little goes a long way fragrances. It is really awesome that in 2018 when most scents are just ruined by IFRA, that we can still buy something that lasts!! LOVE Thierry Mugler and his fragrance house!! Merci 😉

  19. :

    3 out of 5

Alien Essence Absolue is a gourmandish floral. The florals are blended way down, underneath a balsamic gourmand accord featuring primarily vanilla, myrrh, amber, and incense. The gourmandish essence is very warm and welcoming‒rich and sophisticated. Almost sweet and syrupy, with a subtle smoky depth to it. This fragrance boasts a lot of class, and has a really well-balanced equilibrium between the notes (many of which are predominantly very challenging notes to balance in a fragrance).
Mugler flexing his perfuming muscles once again.
Still far on the mature side as far as demographic goes. Not the kind of thing just any girl would go for I think, even despite how well-composed and easy to love this essence is. You’ll have to be looking to add something mature to your palette. Very lovely though for that quality, and anyone who wants to radiate class might definitely want to check this one out as a fragrance for formal occasions.

Oh my god, if you love vanilla based fragrances, one whiff of this & you will become OBSESSED with it, it’s intoxicating.
To me it smells like a creamy, sophisticated, delicious, sweet vanilla ice cream. It’s my favorite Alien for sure. I fell completely in love with it upon first sniff & haven’t looked back. This EDP is strong, so you don’t need to keep reapplying during the day. Stays on clothes even longer. I always get massive compliments on this, every time!

Warm, luscious, dense vanilla…in a cozy embrace with Alien’s signature minty jasmine. A vanilla that’s been kissed by something ethereal and majestic. I sense a deep, powdery butterscotch type note in this scent, and it’s delicious. It’s probably the amber giving this ‘butterscotch’ effect. I notice that I tend to really enjoy gourmand and floral notes mixed with cashmere wood (La Vie Est Belle Absolu has it as well), it adds a smoothness to the composition and adds a regal touch. I always get told I smell beautiful when I wear it. A special occasion/evening scent for me. It smells gorgeous even on warm summer nights and never gets cloying. The longevity isn’t that great when sprayed on the wrists, but in the cleavage area, behind the neck and on clothes, it lasts up to 12 hours. Sillage could be moderate or heavy, depending on how much you spray. Love.

I sort of see Alien the way astrology describes Aquarius: unconventional, rebellious, cold, aloof, with a bit of an elitism complex, and hard to pin down.
But Aquarius does have a warm, sensitive side that is only shown once in awhile, and that’s what Essence Absolue is. It’s got the same synthetic, unique, “alien” jasmine, the same dark, thick amber, but this is warmer, friendlier, and less confrontational.
    More intimate, maybe.
I discovered this through the Fragrance Finder on the Mugler website. When I went through their questions, they recommended this. I love the original Alien, so I bought a little mini bottle, and man, I adore it.
A lot of people say that they like it better than the original Alien, and while I wouldn’t go quite that far, it’s pretty damn close.
I can smell the myrrh pretty well, and I love the way it mixes with the amber. The vanilla doesn’t show up until later, but I love that it’s not necessarily a “sweet” vanilla. It’s not a candied vanilla, it’s like the actual vanilla pods straight off the flower. So warm and deep and comfortable.
It doesn’t have the staying power or sillage of Alien, but it’s not weak, by any stretch of the imagination. Scents do tend to disappear quickly on me, but this lasted about 4 hours before it became impossible to detect unless I specifically smelled my wrist. That’s pretty good, there aren’t a lot that last longer than that on me.
This is definitely bottle worthy, imo.

@Twinkle1705 Thank you! I contacted them and they don’t ship to Latin America. Mugler is a relatively new brand here, so I’ll wait for a while to see if it gets to the malls here. Otherwise, eBay is my only option.
    Thank you again!

Not a review but a question. Could someone be kind enough to tell me if this is available online only? I don’t seem able to find it in retail stores in my country, and I don’t trust eBay that much.

  26. :

    3 out of 5

This is a heavenly incense/amber/myrrh bomb and is so delicious I had to just go and buy a backup. The jasmine is not as pronounced in this one as in other versions of Alien—so it has less of a grape soda feel and more of a rich syrupy grown up candied dessert feel. Yet, not really gourmand. But…on the verge. The vanilla and cashmere wood give it a cozy warm ambiance, and this EDP is STRONG. A little goes a long way and you don’t want to overspray. That being said, it’s one of the few that I let myself sometimes spray with abandon because it doesn’t give me a headache, regardless of the heavier notes. Just a lighter hand in the warmer months. I even love the bottle—but my only regret is that I have never actually come across anything larger than the 30ml. Regardless, it’s a winner.

  27. :

    5 out of 5

First off I have never smelled any of the Alien perfumes, but I was so curious based off the reviews I read here that I blind bought a 30 ml bottle off eBay for under $20.
I’m not a fan of the bottle and probably would never have picked it up if I saw it in a store. With all the sharp points on the cap it’s not a nice object to hold, and the bottle shape reminds me of a butt crack.
Luckily for me, the packaging does not match the juice.
First impression was a root beer float. Sometimes amber accords combined with vanilla goes into this direction for me, similar to my impression of Parfums de Marly Safanad and the JPG classique perfume I wore in the 1990’s. It’s hard to dislike this scent because the vanilla is so yummy, and honestly who doesn’t love a good gourmand?
Still I am happy to have the small bottle as there are so many other wonderful winter scents I enjoy, with much more complexity and refinement. This has a pedestrian vibe, as if I’ve smelled it on someone else before. That’s not necessary a criticism, but more of an observation.
Great projection for the first 2 hours. This lasted all day on me. If you like gourmand vanilla scents, this is a must try.

I have just tested it now at Oslo Gardermoen, together with the original Alien. They are divine! Both are unisex and vanilla/yellow flower/milky sweet. I liked this one better bcs the original has some opposite note that kills the warmness in the beggining (although not bad). I guess if the Sun had a scent, it would smell like this!

  29. :

    5 out of 5

Mugler’s Alien Essence Absolue is very rich and opulent. It is far warmer and sweeter than the original Alien. You get the complexity of myrrh in the center then something mysterious and resinous. Vanilla is prominent but is tempered by the other notes. Extremely well blended and unique.
    Sillage excellent.
Lasts the whole day, especially on clothing.
Stunning, inviting, seductive, powerful. This has jumped to the top 10 of my list of favorites.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

Alien Essence Absolue is not for the faint of heart! This is a potent fragrance that has monster sillage and projection. It is heavy with vanilla and amber. It is gorgeous, but I recommend spraying this lightly. This fragrance has depth and mystery. It is a staple in my collection. However, I do recommend that you try this before buying being that it is not a light scent. Also, with time it will grow darker in color, but do not let this worry you. Perfumes with natural oils, especially vanilla, darken over time. The scent is still as intoxicating as the day you purchase it.

Beautiful, oriental-floral,woody….it has everything! One of my all-time favourites! Great sillage and longevity.

Yeah, so many great reviews for this one. I’m really late to the game. This has been my favorite “going out” in the evenings perfume recently in the winter/cooler weather. I wore it out to a bar with friends tonight and it was snowing – really just a perfect night for this beauty. It smells like I think the golden/amber color of the juice should smell (I’m weirdly picky about “amber” notes – I don’t really like most “amber” focused scents) and it’s really sweet. I love it, but I’m a big Mugler fan in general anyway.
I don’t notice anything “smoky” in this one. I generally am not a fan of smoke notes in fragrance so I’m glad about that.

This is the perfect scent for a middle east princess!!
a warm cloud of amber, vanilla and incense. Recommended for fall and winter, very exotic and appealing
Longevity is great (+24 h) on fabrics and on hair
As it has been said, this goddess plays the match much better than the defeated (reformulated) Alien
    Only for warriors!

  37. :

This is far superior to Alien. The current formulation of Alien is dominated by cashmere wood & white amber, which smells of wet concrete and musk. The signature mentholated grape jasmine is fleeting & exists only within the first few minutes during the opening.
Essence Absolue, however, is buttery, sticky, full-bodied, resinous & decadently sweet (think Hypnotic Poison and Girl of Now) with vanilla and myrrh supporting the signature Alien jasmine. This is sumptuous and extremely potent stuff!

  38. :

When the original alien was first released, I promptly made it my signature throughout middle school and early high school.. I just loved it. It was so strange and unique.
Something about the original fizzled out for me.. Perhaps reformulation, or maybe im just not remembering my first 4-5 bottles correctly, but it changed. To me it got lighter and muskier. No more mentholated intense grapey goodness.
I started exploring the flankers to see if I could find what sparked my love for the original again, and I have. Just divine! Vix vapor rub vibes combined with an addicting and beautiful boozy jasmine..
Warm yet chilling at the same time! This is how I remember the original smelling in the beginning.. Im glad I have Essence Absolue. Ill never let it go.

  39. :

    5 out of 5

Oh yes, this Alien flanker is DIVINE. If you are a fan of the original Alien (which I am), then you should love this one, too. If you enjoy the original Alien but think it’s a bit “too much” on you, then I would recommend trying this one out.
The notes that stand out the most for me upon initial spray are the jasmine and the amber (in typical Alien fashion). As it dries down, though, the vanilla and the incense come out a bit more on my skin. It almost smells a bit “maple syrup-y” to me, but in the best possible way. If the combination of jasmine, amber, and a subtle maple syrup sound appealing to you, then I can’t recommend this enough. This is a very cozy, warm, inviting, AND sexy fragrance. The first time I wore this, my husband could not stop complimenting me; I imagine this a very appealing scent for a lot of men.
Because I think that this is a sweeter and less milky version of the original Alien, I’d say that this fragrance is best-suited for Fall and Winter. I’d wear this at nighttime as well, but I think it can be pulled off during the daytime when it’s cold outside.
I LOVE this one. This might actually be a contender for my favorite Alien perfume, which is really saying something, because I’ve adored pretty much every version of Alien.

  40. :

    5 out of 5

This is very strong, like Montale strong.
One single spritz on my chest lasts for most of the day – a feat since my skin seems to absorb any fragrance within 30-60 minutes (maaaaybe two hours if it’s really strong). Of course, one spritz won’t PROJECT for a day, but it will project for a couple of hours at arm’s length, and then become a skin scent for another 8-10 or so. Two spritzes though ? You’re golden and cocooned in Alien’s mysterious, smooth aura for the day.
It’s definitely more vanilla and amber than jasmine, and I swear I can even get benzoin but maybe that’s the myrrh + cahsmeran combo. It’s a sexy, full-bodied ambery vanilla with a hint of white floral, definitely more feminine. On the expensive side but good value for money when you consider how little you need to get the desired effect!

I can still remember the evening when I was sitting by a fireplace, staring into open flames & spending my first evening with Alien Essence Absolue. This fragrance offered me a warm embrace & I was dreaming about gold & bright sun, hot lava, burning incense, sweet nectar, amber & myrrh, so narcotic and soothing, I was fantasizing about almonds, Bourbon vanilla & honey, about mind-blowing jasmine scent, about all those tempting pleasures of life. Alien Essence Absolue is golden, dense, compact, smooth & mellow. It has got its own hidden secret /light green & minty undertone with coca-cola flavor/. Alien Essence Absolue is liquid gold in a bottle & the most affectionate Alien in the whole universe.

Amazing, 11/10. When I love a perfume this much, I don’t have much to say about it because it’s just perfect. Alien EA has been in my life since I was around 18 and has never left. It’s the best creamy vanilla I have ever smelled, like a creamy vanilla custard with rich amber and topped with seductive jasmine sambac petals. It’s definitely a cold weather perfume, though I could wear it any time I wouldn’t subject those around me to it during the summer as it could be a bit suffocating, but it’s beyond divine when it’s cold or breezy. I normally hate anything syrupy sweet and this is syrupy but it’s so natural smelling and glorious that it’s ok. It’s gourmand but not actually that foody nor is it anything like candy, it’s just delicious and edible. Definitely one of the sexiest scents I have ever come across, but it’s also sophisticated and elegant, never vulgar (which is actually kind of unusual for a mugler scent-most are vulgar). I don’t care what your perfume preferences are, everyone needs to try this. I hate the original Alien and syrupy sweet gourmands as a rule but this transcends my preferences, it is so damn good.

I’d been curious about this one for a long time and finally ordered a couple of carded samples. Let me say that I am surprised.
I’m not very familiar with classic Alien (I can’t recall its smell off the top of my head, actually) so I was going into this rather blind and I was expecting something a bit edible. This is not that. It is way too camphoraceous to be mistaken for food. The huge dollop of camphor reminds me at once of cough syrup, muscle ointment, menthol cigarettes, throat lozenges, and bug repellent. It invades the sinuses like an icy breeze. Unusual for a fragrance so heavy on the vanilla to be this chilling.
That’s not to say that I think it’s bad, though. Quite the opposite, it’s very interesting and I’m always looking for interesting. I’m not sure I love it but I will enjoy my samples in any case, definitely worth the few dollars!

  44. :

Multiply your regular Alien Edp like three times and there you have the Absolue. The almost minty freshness at the beginning creates a distinction though. Another difference is, while Alien tends to have a bitter undertone, Absolue is totally creamy and sweet. I love both versions, but i love my perfumes to have weird undertones that make them stand out among a zillion other vanilla-amber-sweet combinations; so if i had to make a choice between the two, id choose alien edp. But i know some people cant stand the bitterness in alien although they appreciate the fragrance, so this one is definitely suitable for them. By the way, absolue version is a longevity and sillage monster..i prefer spraying just twice, thats all i need for the whole day.

While it maintains Alien’s DNA, like all the other flankers, it’s aptly named: it’s as if the original has been amplified two or three times…It’s deep, sultry but also sweeter… More than vanilla, I feel like there’s been a honey note added to the concoction.
This is what I call a real feminine perfume, it has it all: it’s potent, has great sillage and longevity. Can’t wait till I have my own bottle 🙂

More catchy jasmine and cashmeran wood than in original one. Like it.

This fragrance doesn’t have much of a throw on my skin (despite what the other reviews have said), more that it wafts and radiates from where I’ve sprayed. But it is such a beautiful, warm, buttery vanilla, and doesn’t have that imposing patchouli that most Muglers have, and I love it.

someone said this smells like gaultier2, is this true? im trying to find a dupe, for yet another discontinued favourite. also in the section above where you can state what the perfumes smells like..i wish people would choose perfumes from a different house because now all are just flankers…and theres no fun in expanding your palette.

The incense in this is strong on me it is balanced by a beautiful creamy deep vanilla and then the original Alien DNA comes through. I love it. I can wear original Alien any time and day and I wear this for a sexier deeper night time scent. Beautiful.

First amber myrrh and incensy-vanilla combo lately after hour becaming more vanilla- flowery. Very very nice smell. Original Alien seem to me bit flatter now. Essence absolue is winner for me, yes!

This is amazing and I actually prefer it over the original alien.
It is like a creamier vanilla version of the original. My mum does not like the original she thinks it is a bit too strong, but she loves this one. This is less sharp than the original alien.
I am a huge perfume lover and own around 80 bottles and this is probably in my top 10.
This lasts all day. The colour has gone from golden to a brown colour but apparently this happens to perfumes containing vanilla and amber over time. It still smells exactly the same as it did when I purchased it around 8 months ago so it hasn’t gone off.
A beautiful, elegant and luxury fragrance, perfect for an evening.

Now i’m not sure if I received a knockoff, or if the perfume was too old, or WHAT? But I didn’t smell ANY of what the reviews raves about in that pretty little bottle! Goodness, where do I start?? It smelled like…sunscreen and pepto bismol. I only sprayed once on my arm and even gave several hours to allot time for the drydown. Well. That never happened. It stayed the same linear, bitter, ear wax smelling (idk, don’t judge me lmao), Pretty-for-nothing waste of money! I’m already not an Alien fan. It’s just way too strong smelling and masculine for me. Well this sealed the deal. Ugh. Sillage would’ve been amazing if the smell was nice. Longevity was really good too. If you’re into this sorta stinky thing lol. I’ve been scrubbing for so long and the smell is still there. So annoying. Now i’m trying to sleep with a headache and a bitter taste (literally) in my mouth. Worst I’ve ever smelled!

No tobacco listed, but I get a sweet ambery wet tobacco from this. I ADORE this scent. I really can’t get enough of this and sniff myself constantly when I wear it, which may make me appear a little crazy. Maybe it’s the combination of vanilla, amber, myrrh, and incense that creates this wet tobacco scent.
There’s something slightly buttery about this as well that I can’t get enough of! I have a Buttered Bread candle, and there’s something about Alien Essence Absolue in the dry-down that reminds me of that candle. This does not smell edible in that sense, just some
