Not for me. I could not stand the sweaty flower smell which is prominent throughout. I dont know how people are saying its not strong enough. This has beast mode performance i literally had to scrup my hand raw and still could not get rid of the smell.and i used a tiny squirt from a 3ml decant not even a full spray It is so potent. I should start spraying on paper as im delving into niche and find alot of xerjoffs challenging.

I was raised in Kuwait where Oud is very common and everywhere, even Taxis smelled like oud so I grow up disliking oud.
30 years later, I was ordering Another Xerjoff perfume where the site offered 3 free samples so I choose this one, The name intrigued me because I was born in Alexandria, Egypt.
The moment I smelled this, oh my god, this is the way oud should smell.
Classy, Captivating, 10/10 in all categories.

It’s as if a brief summer storm has passed. The powerful sun emerges and slowly dries out the damp Oud. After about 2 hours the Wood is completely dried but still absorbing heat until it ignites and begins to give of a heavenly smoke that was spiced and blended by Mother Nature herself. A thick, silk-like strand of smoke organically dissipates into the surrounding air producing an olfactive image of powdered gold.

For me, this is the best woody-lavender aroma, a fusion of east-west, most niche flavors are very simple to confuse with a lykse philistine, but not this one, it is very expensive but also sounds accordingly.

While this perfume is great and has a quality scent, the sillage and performance is poor.

عطری بسیار خوشبو و با کیفیت با ماندگاری و پخش بوی بسیار خوب
بوی ملایم و نرم و کرمی و خامه ای داره
برای همه موقعیت ها کاربرد داره

One of the most luxurious and beautiful soapy woody scent I have ever smelled. If I was rich enough this would be my signature scent.

A bit disappointed with the performance.
I tested a couple of times this year Alexandria II in shops. Did not leave me an impression of something extraordinary. I said to myself that those testers might not be to the real thing and considered that If I would buy a full bottle I can get “the Alexandria experience”. Well, I was wrong.
I own a full bottle of Alexandria II now. But on my skin is nothing as specified here. The sillage is very low and the performance is under 3 hours. So I am a bit disappointed with that. I even used 5-6 puffs, all gone within 3 hours. Stays more on clothes or the beard.
Overall I would not recommend it to buy it as a blind buy. The price tag is not justified in my opinion. I own other Xerjoff products that are more balanced in quality/price.

Reminds me of a slightly stronger version of reflection man by Amouage but this beast lasts forEVER. Believe me when I say this you only need 1 spray or you will give yourself and everyone around you a headache. This stuff is mega potent and super metallic so… if you dont like metallic smelling stuff stay away from this. Do not blind buy

Got a sample of this and it’s quite enjoyable. I can kind of see what someone said about it being like a niche Le Male……I friggin love Le Male (guilty as charged) but I can totally understand how some shy away because of the pricing. The quality is certainly there but yea some of these Xerjoff have such a crazy price tag.

To my nose it’s a niche version of Le Male by Jean paul Gaultier, I am totally addicted to this perfume, the only problem is that I don’t like the aftertaste of cinnamon, after a while it becomes too spicy/powdery on me, but there is nothing to do I always come back in spite of this.

A beautiful powdery Floriental. It is delicate, sophisticated, and unravels in beautiful layer after layer of sheer woody floral ecstasy. The perfume opens with the lovely lavender note (that stays throughout), with hints of palisander rosewood, cinnamon and apple. It proceeds to a brief middle where one can detect lily-of-the-valley, rose and cedar. Finally it settles down into a powdery woody base of amber, musk, Oud, sandalwood and vanilla. This is like having a beautiful dream of luxuriating in a field of flowers. Unisex (slightly masculine leaning), with strong sillage and projection and enormous lasting power. Don’t go in expecting a lot of Oud. It is there but muted by all the woods and flowers. The perfume is as a whole one of the most beautiful ever created and very classy. Stunningly gorgeous. Enjoy!

Smells of soap. Extremely masculine soap. It goes on way too strong but fades to almost nothing extremely quickly. Basically this smells like something a well presented man in his 70s or 80s would wear but for the price of this you would expect it to last longer than half an hour.

Lavender cinnamon bomb. Could do well as a regular designer bottle, but at this price it fails

Well most of these notes are among the ones I usually avoid but they blend so well here and create an amazing scent
I didn’t know the notes when first trying it but I was sure that there’s something woody, something balsamic and a hint of something clean in the background.I also guessed that cinnamon is there and I was so happy to see that I was right
I usually can’t tolerate oud,it’s there but it doesn’t overpower as a single note,it acts as a part of woody accord here, just like sandalwood and rosewood.after some times, woody notes calm down a bit,it becomes more clean and I start to like it more and more.vanilla, amber and cinnamon give this fragrance some sort of delicious undertone and I can also smell a clean, perfumey cleanness which must be lavender and
maybe musk. It’s drydown is great.I can’t stop sniffing blotter paper and my hand. It’s unisex but I like more feminine fragrances so I prefer to smell it on my husband not myself
All in all a great job

This fragrance gets such universal praise that I couldn’t wait to try it. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I get notes of oud, soap and plasticine (a type of play-do that we used as kids). Nice enough but not something I want to smell like and not what I was expecting.

If any fragrance can cost over $500 for a 100ml and not be overpriced; this is it. ONE SPRAY. Creamy, woody lavender. The lavender gives it a mature feel but it is FAR from being an old man smell. Supremely versatile.
The kind of scent that can make you get rid of anything similar smelling because it will pale in comparison.

I bought a small sample of this one – it’s very good – good in the colder seasons – the opening for me is a bit harsh but that is just the first minute after the spray – the dry down goes smoothly … very nice – one way or the other dry down reminds me just a tiny little bit of Ambré Noble from Zara – I think the cheapie Ambré Noble ( where I only know the first 2016 edition ) would be appreciated by those who like Alexandria II – I would not pay nearly €500 for a bottle of this Xerjoff, no matter how nice the packaging and leather box is – but that’s something everyone has to decide for their own

I Sampled first, and purchased 100ml on first sniff. I promised my self to only wear on special occasions… I broke that promise already. This is just perfection to me, all I needed in a fragrance it gave…
Deep but light, projects but non-invasive, long lasting yet pleasurable, strong yet smooth; summer, winter, fall spring… All season approved.
If I can only have one bottle *wink*… This is it…
Update: This is the Longest lasting fragrance I have ever owned. Anyone that complain about longevity… Something is definitely wrong. Also if you spray your clothes, you’re stuck with it for weeks. Top three of my all time favorite ever.

Substantially rich, lavender infused in juicy fruits, framed in a luxurious bed of woods, with profoundly creamy sandalwood taking center stage in the heart and throughout the drydown.
Alexandria II is pure bliss, exoticism at it’s finest.

This is without a doubt my favourite fragrance. It is just beautiful from start to finish. Smoothly blended to perfection. Performance and sillage are very good indeed. The presentation is flawless. Love, love, love.

I thought it’s a new blend but just now i realized that it was there since 2012!
It’s very lavender, sandalwood, and sweet blend. I do sense amber and quite huge doses of lily of the valley. No oud involved, but more of woods instead. Cedar is there so as the roses.
It’s kind of oriental, and it’s a fine blend, but it’s price tag is just too much and make it worthless.

I’ve had a small sample of this for a while. I would take it to work with me and dab a small amount on me so I could inhale the beautiful aroma. I swore I would make this mine, but I’d have to save up for it. Well, that day came and now I have a bottle of this for myself.
Very beautiful woodsy oud and yes, unisex as well. I get more vanilla and cinnamon in the opening, and as it’s settling, the sandalwood, oud and woodsy notes come through with a touch of amber. This smells like a desert to me; very unique in aroma as well as presentation. I really wish mainstream perfumes were like this; unusual and magical. I guess that’s why there’s a niche market in perfumery! Alexandria II is simply stunning, and if you love oud, then get a sample of this and if not, still try it. It’s smooth as silk, no harshness or sharpness; all of the notes are so well blended.
The only downside is the price tag, but I’m glad I saved up because this was so worth the splurge!
I just to add that this stuff is tenacious! I can still smell it the next day and I could still smell it on my clothes after I washed them.

I have two bottles of this, one in the old style bottle and the other in the new rounded one. I can tell you straight away that it has been reformulated, although it still is a fantastic scent. Alexandria II *was* a Fortnum & Mason exclusive up until a few weeks ago, whereas now it’s been made available WORLDWIDE. The Oud that was used in the original formulation was of a better quality, as the fragrance was only made in relatively small quantities. Now that Xerjoff are mass producing this fragrance, they have had to substitute the Oud for one which is more cost effective, otherwise it would of been too expensive to manufacture on a large scale. All in all it’s an absolute stunner, and i can highly recommend it in the old bottle or the new!

I’m so glad I decided to test this. I was put off by someone on here saying it was like Escada Magnetism which is most puzzling. I have EM and I can’t see it. My first thoughts were a big hit of oud, rose and sandalwood. One spray will easily last all day. Its a big hitter! There is an underlying sweetness from the fruit and amber notes. The lavender gives a bit of edge and keeps it unisex.
I’ve got to admit I was hoping Richwood would be like this. The perfect oud/rose/wood fragrance. If you are not one for oud normally still give this a go. You might be pleasantly surprised.

In my opinion this is the clear cut winner of all the Oud Stars line. Most are in your face Oud, dry, and somewhat dirty. This is nothing of the kind. Soft Oud, sweet and spicy with a glorious drydown. Not too far off from escada magnetism as mentioned by a previous reviewer. Fantastic stuff!

    This Fragrance Is Amazing.
Smooth – Sweet – Woody And Spicey But Not Offensive Spice Just A Background Kick Of It!
This Fragrance Isnt Really About Oud To Me, More Sandalwood, Cinnamon With Wood And A Touch Sweetness.
Quality Juice, Very long Lasting, Unique And Great Sillage – Perfect
Only Made More Special By The Fact It Is Hard To Get And The Presentation.
    5/5 Easily For Me
*The Price Is A Killer Though Not Gonna Lie

Alexandria is exclusive to Fortnum & Mason in London. I’m so happy that one of the perfumista’s on here introduced me to the lovely second floor in F&M. Anyway, back to Alexandria. It’s a part of Oud Stars collection. For starters it’s very, very long lasting. I had a paper strip sprayed on Saturday and I can still smell it on Wednesday. Smell it not only when I bring the strip straight under my nose but also from about a meter distance. I would describe Alexandria as woody floriental. The notes I can definitely smell through different stages of development are: rose in the opening and middle, lavender – I think the slight whiff of freshness comes from it, very subtle oud throughout the whole life of Alexandria, and finally sandalwood, vanilla and cinnamon in the drydown. There is also something that smells like bitter almonds – not sure what that could be? Maybe just my sense of smell?
I enjoyed this fragrance a lot and it’s now on the top of my ‘to buy list’.
Now, on a side note, I didn’t really think much of Xerjoff after my big disappointment with Iriss. And I only smelled few Xerjoffs from the Shooting Stars collection but they didn’t make my heart beat faster. But Alexandria proved that Xerjoff has beautiful things to offer.
Also, another exclusive to F&M is Emery from the Shooting Stars (it’s not listed on Fragrantica yet and there aren’t any information on the net yet). Emery is a stunningly wonderful oriental rose. I fell in love with it instantly. When it appears on here I will follow with a description of my beautiful experience with it. 🙂
Update1: I just found Serguey review of Alexandria on here and it says there were only 120 bottles which sold out immediately and that Xerjoff wasn’t going to make more. Somebody also mentioned that they did release Alexandria 2 – so maybe that’s what I sampled? Need to go to F&M again.
Update 2 (26/11/2013): Yes the current version in F&M is Alexandria II. I actually met Sergio Momo in F&M yesterday and had a really nice chat with him. He explained that the only difference between Alexandria I and Alexandria II is the oud. The one used in A I was 25 years old. The one used in A II is 5-6 years old but it comes from the same plantation. The rest of the notes is the same. Sergio also explained why they needed to name it Alexandria II saying that even though it’s almost identical fragrance yet still the main ingredient is different. That little chat really made my day! Yay 🙂
