    @Avra
My sister used to wear this scent years ago.
Then she found in John Richmond (the one with the lock) a good substitute.
Happy if this can help you.

I had it years ago. Now I cannot find it in my country. Its my dreamy perfume, my treasure! Geranium, lemon , sandalwood and musk blend together in a way I cannot tell any ingredient only an aura of beauty! It is a warm scent, with a conflict of light and deep notes. A very unique perfume nothing like you have ever smelled, as its not fruity, or flowery, nor see breeze or oriental. It would be my signature perfume if I could find it. Lasts ok. After that I went for First Or from Van Cleef, it was the closest I could find. An all day all ages perfume very very sophisticated yet vibrant.

I just got my hands on it.
Testing it as we speak, from a mini bottle. I wanted it for ages.
So, first impression, this is a Sexy Soap.
Like a foam bath, filled up with violet and roses
(but hey, where is the violet in the list? it must be another floral note that does the trick).
Of course it is musky, so many of you agree on that. Actually if you think about it too much, musk is all you’ll get, but it is all done in a very interesting and stylish way.
The soapy top though moves way too quickly towards the warmer peppery-floral heart on my skin. I really wish it would stay spikandspan fresh for a bit longer.
Overall a 7,5/10. I do detect musk, rose, pepper and geranium from the notes listed above.

Whoa, that is really aquatic monster. It starts very shy, but the smell just grows. For me, it smells like a cheap hotel shampoo from 2000’s. And this is the scent that definitely screams summer (vacation)!

I adore this perfume, have worn it since 2003 and have a few backup bottles. It is pretty linear on me but very fresh, not overpowering with great longevity and moderate sillage. I get a lot of compliments from everyone, but especially men for whatever reason.
I do get a blast of lemony-rose in the opening, followed by greens and a powdery warm/musk dry down. It’s a winner!

When I smell Alessandro Dell’Acqua I envision a white linen hung out to dry, dancing in the wind; a light breeze behind it causes the fabric to billow out like a full sail. The sky behind it is saturated blue and the sun radiates brightly, emitting a pulsating heat. Crisp, bright and serene – that is this fragrance.
Allesandro Dell’Acqua, with it’s use of geranium, translates into a “sheer” lemony rose composition. Sweet pea and peony add a tenderness to the other notes without adding sweetness and the use of musk conveys airy movement. While this fragrance feels “clean” and fresh, it has a definite density to it making it easily perceived (and enjoyed) by others nearby, and for a long duration of time. I didn’t know this was made by Olivier Cresp, as it is unusual in style for him, but it’s just a testament to how well-rounded he is as a creator.
It is rare for me to enjoy fresh fragrances and it’s even more rare that I choose to wear them, but Allesandro Dell’Acqua is so beautiful that I reach for it quite often, no matter the season. A little spritz before bedtime is especially soothing. I love it and am sad it’s difficult to find.

I have just got first mini- very much was impressed by reviews. I like this perfume, it’s fresh and interesting..and I have a question- there is so many mentioning of outstanding staying power and siliage but for me -although there is a strong start, I stop “to feel” this EDT in couple of hours(( how is it possible- is it my skin’s chemistry deviate perfume or nose that gets completly “use” to perfume and it’s completely gone for me in 3-4 hours?(((

Alessandro is the first name Dell’Acqua is the surname of Italian fashion designer no Acqua intended as a name for the scent!!

Maybe I got up on the wrong side of the bed BUT why the hell would you add a word like Aqua to a fragrance name if there is zero aqua notes relevant!! And then why is there a pic of a girl with the ocean in the background on the advert pic!? At least a waterlilly note would have justified it`s name. -(

    To kj99:
Geranium and pelargonium are not the same thing.
They’re two different varieties of a same flower.
Their odor is different, at least a bit different.

Geranium and pelargonium are the same thing.
Geranium is the common name instead scientific botanical name is it pelargonium.
Than making some easy calculation people feels in this perfume a lot more “geranium” than musk.
    And so it is.
It is a sort of super soapy (Dove ones) pelargonium bomb fragrance.
    Metallic creamy fresh flowers.
Truly chic. Audrey Hepburn in Paris! Could be the Rive Gauche of this millennium.
A lot of sandalwood and white woods like dsquared.
Notes like blackberry as well in the dry down.
    A real gem.
Clean luminescent but rich and warm.
    Obviously not understood and discontinued.

    Love at first sniff.
So classy and posh, elegant and timeless.
I think it’s one of the most beautiful fragrances in the world and wish i had bought a bottle when i saw it as i have not seen it around for some time. It may no longer be available but i will keep an eye out for it.
If you like ‘White Linen’ by Estee Lauder then you might like this as it is similar but not the same. I love both but i love this even more.
It’s just a gloriously beautiful fragrance, and if i see it again i will buy some.
    Very sophisticated indeed.

Fresh and soapy–the sweetpea gives it a zing!! This is long-lasting and the sillage is around 6 feet. I like it so much I’ve gotten myself another bottle as I don’t want to run out.

The spoapyness in this reminds me of Vera Wang´s Vera Wang. Not a fan.

Soapy in a very chic and expensive way, different from actual fragrances, feminine and not girly. Perfect for a classy woman, but easy to wear in many occasions. I don’t understand why they discontinued it. Beautiful notes.

On me this just smells like soap. Very very strong soap. Needless to say, I don’t like it.

I finally found something that to me projects the same spirit as Alessandro Dell’Acqua – Amouage Dia. Similarities are the aldehydes with a soapy base and floral bouquet on top (although a different mix in the floral bouquet). Different price range of course, and Alessandro Dell’Acqua is much harder to find. I think I love them differently but equally. They both make me feel fresh, feminine, upbeat.

Edit. It must be my lucky day – I just picked up a 100 ml tester at an “unboxed” fragrance sale. I am in heaven!

My all time favourite and signature scent, but of course it is discontinued. I can’t identify the elements but I get lots of soapy sweet pea, which I love. Would buy again in a heartbeat if I could find any. Beautiful big sillage and long lasting. I have been looking for an equivalent perfume but have not yet found anything to match this one.

    Ooh, sehxseh…
Look, Ma — no soapiness of any kind here!
It reminds me a bit of D&G in the red bottle because of its longevity…The pelargonium [a variety of geranium] shines right through, giving it a bit of a lemony, sunny edge upon first spray & first sniff…It might come off a bit strong in the beginning [just like vintage YSL Rive Gauche] but as it wears, the heat of one’s skin warms it up and it smells expensive and full bodied…
On my skin, it’s balmy, musky in a classy way, and long lasting…The traditional geranium note doesn’t come off sharp at all — it’s tamed by the musk, sweet pea, and peony…
I’m lucky to have snagged this gem during a swap with the lovely rockrose…

Once in a lifetime you find a perfume you want to use for the rest of your life, this is mine. Oh and it is now discontinued ;,(
Classy, sexy, fresh, warm and soapy, I absolutely adore it and have smelt nothing like it. Just my lucl 🙁

  22. :

i will agree this has a clean soapy smell but I beg to differ on the quality of the soap.many here are likening it to a high quality soap but right from first spray the only soap that came to my mind was Dove soap. Now if that is expensive then so be it.
If I smell this on a man I will think he used a nice smelling detergent to wash his clothes.on a woman I will liken it to nice body mist.
It’s extremely long lasting which surprised me.too much of it becomes an olfactory overload.can see it as all-season frag.I like it

I can see why this is such a popular scent. It’s very long lasting with very clear sillage. I wholeheartedly agree that this smells like expensive soap in the best possible way.
I really enjoy the sweet pea notes in this and mixed with the other powdery florals it takes on more a broom note than a clean sweet pea.
It’s definitely a scent strictly reserved for women and thus I shall only ever use this at night after a shower.

This scent is sooooo sexy, my husband gets jealous everytime i wear this scent due to people coming around me and smelling me and telling me i smell too good. Its a must buy. I got my bottle off Ebay 100ml for £15.00, what a bargin.

One of my absolute favourites. I was disappointed to see now that it has been discontinued, this freaks me out because I really want to be able to wear this for the rest of my life. To me personally it smells fresh and soapy and although it is inoffensive to wear it is not boring it is really lovely. I may have to stock up before it becomes impossible to track down!

  27. :

Such a nice every day fragance, easy to wear at any ocasion. Not loud, not close to skin. So unlike any others and honestly, I couldn’t recognise all its ingredients. I smell flowers between fresh and clean notes, a drop of lemon – or rather hint of orange blossom…above all there is some powder, which makes it chic.
    Great, elegant, signature type perfume.

This is my all time favourite perfume (I always have the Parfum) but since it has been discontinued I have explored other options; Prada Infusion d’Iris is the closest I have found to replace this perfume, it is much spicier (orange blossom I suspect) but is quite similar aside from that (on my skin it is anyway)

Ohh, now I lost my heart….. what to do?? Thank You sweetie for the sample. This is so beautifull scent it makes me breathless. I found new after shower scent. ahh, food for heart, for sweet dreams, scent of fairyes… bright wings with pastel colours. Happyness, carefullness. Ohh. *sighs*

This scent is definitely feminine with a capital F. But most of all: Sexy! I love the powder and the soapy notes as a lot of you have already commented on. I bought is 5 years ago and I finished the bottle so quickly it made me think it must be my favourite of all times. This is a perfume I would wear in bed…

I love this fragrance but it appears to have been discontinued from the Italian manufacturer. None of the fragrance suppliers in the South Pacific have any available.Everytime I wesar it I am complimented on it and am often asked what fragrance I am wearing by complete strangers. Every man I know loves it. What more do you need to say….

It’s in my top 10 favourite fragrances.
It reminds me Dolce & Gabbana D&G (red cap), because it gives that ‘expensive soap’ smell.
It’s musky and soapy and very feminine, surely not for faint noses.
Everytime I use it I get compliments.
The lasting power is great – all day.
Unfortunately it’s very hard to find it in my country.

I purchased this perfume according to the comments below.I really like it.It’s soapy, clean, fresh and elegant, easy wear perfume but on my skin it doesn’t last long. I have to spray a lot on me and on my clothes. I expected something gorgeous and unique. I will definately finish the bottle but won’t purchase it again.

My husband loves when I wear it.

I didn’t like it at first. it defenitly wasn’t a love at first smell. But after the 4th or 5th time, i really discover the beauty of it (it was a gift). It might have a soaphy smell after some minutes but it desapear quick enough to smell very musky.

  36. :

I love this perfume! it’s like baby powder. it’s very soft, not very sweet, like a soap. to my skin last all day.

  37. :

This is so beautiful! It is a fresh, clean but at the same time musky fragrance (which separates it from the Clean line). It is very unique and classy, a must have!

Am I the only one who dislikes this scent? To me it strongly smells of paint thinner overpowering all the coriander, geranium, pelargonium and sweet pea notes. It hurts my throat, though I am not subjected to any allergies. I had to wash it off right away. I am glad that I have it only as a sample vial – not much money wasted.

It is most unmistakeably the child of Olivier Cresp. It is one of his clean, crisp scents that are so difficult to find. I love the geranium notes, they give off this aromatic balmy scent but it does not feel masculine at all. For some reason I feel a bit of iris, though it is not in the notes, and it slightly reminds me of Prada`s iris.
In the end it gets pleasantly musky.I am not a big musk fan, but it is soft and loveable.

I love this scent! So unlike any others I’ve smelled. Very hard to describe, althogh it’s definately the sandalwood and the musk that awakes my desire.
