Oh dear, I didn’t pay attention at first, it is BLACK musk we are having here, black as an Arabian night, with no stars on that pitch black sky. The quality of this attar is super great, the lasting power is enormous, but it is unwearable for me undiluted, due to density of the musk with added tons of an oakmoss. It is skanky, dangerous, BEAST, that takes no prisoners. Will have to blend it with something clean for sure.
It is like extrait of vintage Paloma Picasso tripled, vintage lovers would be over the Moon. If will survive.
So, for guys who can pull off thick dirty musk it is heaven, for me personally, as for an oud, but not musk amateur – it is almost a quality HELL.
Not a safe buy.
P.S. I see that Angela had same sort of problem, reading her review.

I wanted to add a footnote to my previous review.
After a very long rest, the sweaty note previous mentioned diminishes and the amount of darker roses too. Ny bottle currently is the most lovely combination of briar roses and ocean air (oakmoss). It gets more amazing over time.

This thing is magnificent. Totally deep red-purple velvet! There is black roses, deep, cool and kind of sad, like roses in mourning. They are teamed with the light, apple scent of briar roses. You do not usually meet this combination of notes, sort of youth and maturity together.
There is a sweaty sandalwood note that I believe is shamama. As Angela A below points out, this can like BO but I love it. In my cultural context, this reads as hippy the same way patchouli does in others. Either way, I am sold.
There’s a lot of complexity in this mix. It ends with an unexpected, salty oakmoss note. Al Ward Al Musk is a buxom, full bodied fragrance with impressive 14hr or more longevity but only moderate sillage, so pretty crowd friendly if you are in the right crowd.
I suspect this could work well as a Goth fragrance.
My only disappointment with this is that I had been hoping that this was the poopy kind of black musk but it is the vegetal kind full of spikenard.
This one is going to be a back up bottle situation for me.

@Desertmirage93 That has to be one of the best, positive perfume descriptions ever, “like you’ve shoved your face directly into a ferret” I need some of that!

Hmm, I didn’t like that as much as I thought I would. It is strong but that’s the way I like them, it is masculine but then no problems with me there. The big drawback is the Heavy, BO like musk. I know this is rich coming from someone whose perfume wardrobe pongs to high heaven but to me there is a difference between the much appreciated barnyard filth and BO that only modern psychiatry can explain( they would have a field day with me..). The musk to my nose here is so strong that overwhelmes the rest of the notes. Thankfully poor sillage but decent longevity. Gorgeous bottle though!

Strong and masculine perfume, i can’t smell the bouquet of flowers, but just musk and green notes. After 12h is still perceptible on my skin and it has a moderate sillage from the beginning by the end. It’s a good perfume, but absolutely not indicated for a lady.

Very nice perfume in low price. Very Sweet and longvity is good sillage is good. happy to have a alward almusk

I tested this today, very Indian smelling with vetiver (khus) being prominent.
Very musky and cool smelling great for hot weather. Smells masculine and the vetiver in this is reminiscent of that in al rehab sheikha.
After four hours the dry down on my skin resembles the dry down of serge leutens majeste sa rose. More unisex at this stage.
Lovely oil but not my kind fragrance. Very long lasting on the skin with medium sillage.

I want to like this one, but I can’t. This is the second Rasasi I have tried, and both have given me horrible headaches. I’m not sure if it’s the strong rose scent that was common to both, but I had to scrub this one. It’s definitely unisex, leaning more toward the masculine. Very rose/oud, almost exactly the same as Rasasi’s Shatha al Oud in an oil. A positive–the picture of the bottle doesn’t do it justice. It’s just beautiful.
