Description

Maitresse is the newest fragrance of Agent Provocateur. This is an irresistible secret weapon, a sweet and sexy fragrance, which is not so emphatic and shameless as the first AP scent, but seductive as well.
The composition is based on aldehydes. The passionate opening of White Lotus Petals and delicate nuances of white Ylang Ylang and Violet leaves leads to the floral heart of Osmanthus, Jasmin and Rose. The final note is woodsy powdery with Iris, Amber, Patchouly and White Suede.
The egg-shaped (bomb-shaped) bottle is provocative as the pervious ones. The perfume was created by Azzi Glasser 2007. Agent Provocateur Maitresse was launched in 2006. The nose behind this fragrance is Christian Provenzano.

This does not agree with my skin chemistry. I could only smell ylang ylang in the opening and weird synthetic musk. It was all gone in 30 minutes and I didn’t use it sparingly.

This stuff is absolutely hideous. I went into a discount perfume boutique and saw this for $19. I sprayed a little bit on my wrist and walked in the summer heat for about 30 minutes and I kept wondering if I had forgotten to wear deodorant this morning… only to realize it was this scent that was lingering. It smells like – for lack of better phrasing – a musty old woman. I would steer clear of this.

I have a rather strange ‘thing’ with perfumes.
At this point I don’t consider it to be a coincidence anymore.
Here we go: some fragrances need to be worn by my mother in order for me to understand them.
I though ‘Maitresse’ was rather bland; uninspired and uninspiring.
    But oh no it isn’t…!
This perfume is a class act!
Someone mentioned vintage Tom Ford Violet Blonde: spot on, although the creaminess and powderiness also give it sort of a vibe reminiscent of a classic like Hermes 24 Faubourg.
Maitresse has it in it to become a classic too….. with a different name and bottle, issued by a different company.

I doublechecked my sample and it is this one but smells to me like the other Maitresse. I get a tart fruity sweet rose in the top with ylang then musk, amber and woods. This does not smell leather and iris to me. I just read the description after posting this and see my nose was right on. Read the description not the notes! Ylang, rose, musk, amber, woods.

I thought maitresse will be a special lady. And its dissapointing with its safety, longevity, immaturity? Its nice, but nothing that makes wow for the name or brand. Its for younger girls. Soft golden scent with tad of leather, iris. Lasts close for 2hrs. I would rather buy Tesori d’oriente Egypt for 1/3 price of that and its more interesting.

Very powdery and soapy. Very sad but they do not make it anymore. I bought a few bottels on sale. Ladies store up because this treasure will be gone forever …

With a name like that you would expect a scent worthy of famous historical mistresses of kings. Something bold, brash and skanky like Boudoir. This scent is soft and understated feminine iris, powder and musk. Seriously misnamed and mis-packaged but very pretty nonetheless. I don’t really find this too aldehydic (thank goodness) they aren’t my favorites and it really worried me. The suede doesn’t really stand out for me either and that’s a bit sad as I wish it was more prominent. The silage isn’t too crazy here but that’s probably a good thing with this one, heavy silage could turn suffocating. There is a distinct vintage vibe that’s kinda cool, it somewhat reminds me of Diane Furstenberg Diane but nowhere near as strong and harsh. Just a similar soapy vibe. This smells like a perfume created about 30 years earlier then it was. Crossing my fingers for longevity. Will update on it later.

This is a five-note scent for me, work-appropriate, rather flat and sequential, so not much fun, really.
The aldehydes are very creamy, which isn’t bad, and I can feel – as someone noticed – very synthetic musk.
After less than 10 minutes on my skin the scent becomes more delicate, moves towards powder, then suede-based yellow flowers.
After 30 minutes the only thing I feel on my skin is a warm, musky-flowery shadow of a scent, which could probably feel cheaper, but is quite disappointing. This stage lasts up to 3 hours.

Very warm and musky oriental, definitely suitable for colder weather. Smells like a liquid version of incense sticks. It has a strong vintage vibe but in a wearable way. I like it although due to the strong musk I probably wouldn’t wear it myself.

This is a simple yellow floral. There’s a tiny bit of suede, a little bit of powder, and some very delicate musk. Inoffensive. Not much projection and doesn’t last more than a couple of hours on my skin. I did test it in winter — maybe it’s stronger in summer? I was admittedly expecting a lot from this scent after testing the original AP, and it’s not a bad fragrance, just too bland for my taste. But if you’re looking for something for office use this could work.

this starts off with a blast of strong florals- maybe a combo of jasmine and osmanthus? it doesn’t really smell like any of the florals listed, more like mimosa and something sweet. after about 10 minutes on the skin, the florals calm down a bit and i get some musk and suede. it kind of reminds me of a subtler, suede-ier version of giorgio beverly hills…and definitely reminds me of a few 80s scents.

I love that AP makes perfumes meant to be “retro” but I am disappointed in this.
I get zero aldehydes in this. And my first tissue test revealed a fruity shampoo (basic) vibe. I don’t think this has any fruit!
My actual skin/body test was a powdery yellow floral musk that proved unremarkable, and had poor sillage/potency. There may have been a BIT of creamy suede. But I think I’m just hoping and wishing.
It’s still a nice scent. Not too strong, generic enough to be a people pleaser, a daytime or work scent. I went nuts on the AP scents, picked them up very cheap… now I see why.
The original AP EDP And L’Agent are the only remarkable ones.
AP needs to actually deliver a skanky loud sexy perfume. lol…. I suppose I’ll go home and wear my Bandit until they do. <3

Agent Provocateur Maitresse is very feminine fragrance. In my opinion, it is completely different from the original. The only things that link these two scents are really good longevity and a lack of developing on the skin, all the time it smells the same.
The scent is quite sweet, floral and gently oriental. Thanks to the flowers of Lotus Petals, Ylang Ylang, Osmanthus and Jasmin it is quite intense, but also it is warm and powdery smell because of the notes of suede and amber.
For me, this is the scent of a thriving park in sunny spring days. I could sit on the bench and enjoy the scent of flowers, trees and birds singing when the sun would heat my face.
The perfume is not for everyone, but I wear it easily and pleasantly.
It is rather for women 30+

Smooth, supple leather. Lipstick makeup bag. Ultra sexy silky pair of hose and a long tight fitting sequin gown. That’s what I am getting from this ultra sexy perfume…a glamorous 1920’s scent and she’s a vamp queen goddess.
I think of Theda Bara in Cleopatra with her vampy makeup…lying on a tiger skin rug like a cobra ready to strike…yes this is one sexy scent! One of the best leather-musky powdery makeup perfumes released =I love it!

Maitresse? Could be. Very well behaved one, who knows the rules of the game, keeps low profile and never demonstrate her presence. But when she leaves her aroma lingers on.
Very delicate fume, starts with aldehydes that are an idea too harsh but in only a few minutes it morphs into gentle powdery floral smell, a tad sweet (maybe ylang ylang?) time passes and the perfume melts into my personal body scent, becomes part of me.
It has a retro vibe, but this vibe is subtile and with a modern twist, if this makes sense.
Stays quite close to the skin and i like it that way. This is intimate perfume after all, it wispers “come closer, inhale the scent of my skin”.
I do not use Maitresse often, but enjoy it every time i do.

Smells like Al Rehab Nebras on my skin and maybe a close relative of Vivienne Westwood’s Boudoir…
Nice but not strong enough for my liking and lasting power is poor.

  17. :

    extremly powdery and feminine
while stays in a classy and noble way
the only disadvantage about this one is the lasting-power, couldn’t stay over 2 hours on my skin
and it seems that this one had been discontinued
    what a shame

Contessa01, mine is full of synthetic musk, some flowers, and only a faintest breath of suede. The voted notes don’t accurately represent my perception of my bottle. There are some moments in which I *almost* like Maitresse, but normally I don’t care for it. I keep my bottle because I keep thinking I might someday like it (though I am aware that I’m pretty intolerant of synthetic musk, and I’m unlikely to suddenly begin liking it). Plus, it looks great on my dresser with my other AP perfumes.

  19. :

I am wondering if this has been reformulated recently? I just bought a bottle and it is so much weaker than I remember with the musk being really strong as well as the lasting power. I hope it isn’t just my bottle. Anyone else notice a reformulation?
Edit- thank you Betsy for your reply. I find mine so weak compared to what I had in 2006. It would last all day I feel it must have changed or I have a bad bottle.

To most people AP is unapproachable, because it is so assertive. Well, this perfume is a mellower version of the original. Since the patchouli is not present here, we are introduced to the flower side of this concoction. The amber is pleasant in a subtle way as its sweetness is continually muted by the suede, must, lotus, violet, and ylang-ylang. I usually am unable to wear perfumes with amber as they give me a headache, but the suede and musk couple with the flowers really fight with the sweetness of the amber. To an avid AP lover, this is a daytime version of the perfume. To someone who wants to wear a more approachable version of a perfume that is still strong-minded, this perfume can be worn at all times of the day and night.

This isn’t sexy to me, white florals generally aren’t to me. Clean but musky, I’m just getting used to what musk does in fragrance.
Yeah I read it’s yellow floral, it what are those??
I look st my bottle and it seems in the same family as AP petale noir, which isn’t noir to me, it’s like this but doesn’t last, and a Prada infusion de orangeir which I recently tried.
Soft, clean, rounded, floral, not sweet, not huge projection sits close.
Similar family to Chloe love, some iris and purple flowers that one has, this group I’ve recently tried all seem to be from this group, as soon as I see white flower I go ‘ugh’.
    Recap
    Similar to:
Chloe, love Chloe smooth well blended, powdery floral
Prada infusion de orange like fancy white florals most women like.
Agent p petale noir t older but this is softer
Agent p maitress stronger and older??
Dior addict EDT, but addict fresher and more modern

The sensuality of this perfume depends on what’s on your mind and how far your imagination goes. The bottle is not very suitable for this fragrance (only my opinion). I’d suggest a white, semi-transparent or pearly bottle with a silk ribbon. And of course, no naked girls on it.
This perfume is sensual in a very polite, inoffensive way, the main thing is to wait and feel its transformations. First I get a bit sour, musky blast, which I don’t appreciate at all. But then, after about 5 minutes, this scent becomes a subtle, light and sensual mixture of slightly wrinkled silk bed sheets, lace, powdery perfume and sin. The base is a light, expensive soap or body lotion mixed with your own skin scent, some tenderness with an edge of naughty. The regular Agent Provocateur DNA is definitely present, but it’s made sheer, light like an abstract watercolor painting. Like looking at two loving, caring people making love through a white, semi-transparent curtain floating in a gentle breeze. Shadows, silhouettes, movements, lines, sighs, breaths… You actually can’t see anything, but you are pretty sure about what is going on there.

Ok this is my second review but it will be short, just to say it is musky- I do not get suede but I do get musk, but I did not really identify the musk in this one at first because its very different to other musks- it is very light powdery and delicate- it is not thick heavy and cloying. This perfume smells very delicate. To me this is not soapy at all it is very light and airy, I would describe Jlo glow as a musky soapy scent and this is nothing like that. It is powdery and musky but faintly so, I detect ylang ylang and osmanthus mostly and occassionaly iris, the other notes I do not detect. I do think this one works better in the cold air, however it does last quite a while but it is one of them you cannot smell after half an hour- you become accustom to it. I am glad I got this, I reach for it often I find it inoffensive and delicate and easy to wear, which I was not expecting based on all the reviews of this brand. I think it is good quality for money.

powdery n soapy. frankly when i see the bottle and name, i expected sth intense but i was surprised how warm n soft this is, kinda matches the woman/”maitresse” on the bottle who turns her head back. bein a maitresses, whos very discreet and low profile. this is a very subtle safe and gentle perfume. like some hv said, it definitely reminiscent me of chanel no.5.
id recommend this if u like chanel no.5 n aint expecting anything bold.
as well when compared to other ag, its lasting power and sillage is very weak. certainly needs reapplications

Hmm. I mostly wanted to try this because of the name, to be honest (take a look at my profile picture and you’ll see why). I would expect a perfume named Maitresse to be a bit more… heavy-hitting, I suppose. Sure, it’s musky, sure, it’s sensual, sure, it’s sexy as hell… but there’s no oomph here, it’s all sly seduction and no danger, no adrenaline, not a smidgen of sternness. I have found this to be the case with all Agent Provocateur fragrances I have tried thus far. They’re just too dainty and ultra-feminine for me to pull off, I need a bit of an unisexy edge when it comes to these types of scents.

This is definitely going on my list of great cheapies. I love it! I immediately get the suede, ylang and musk up front. Its very sexy. Its warm and inviting. I dont think many guys would not want to get closer for a better sniff lol
I was worried it might be too heavy on the ylang or jasmine but no, everything is well balanced. It is musky but not overly so. I really dont like heavy musky fragrances. It is a touch powdery but not overly so. I think its the ylang and jasmine that prevent it getting animalic. It finishes with suede, musk and ylang.
    Impressive sillage and longevity.

Received this for Christmas to me it smells of J’adore and Lin young mixed emotions. Very nice multi layered floral- I don’t detect any suede in it- I was expecting it to be very unique and sexy- it is just a layered floral very similar to J’adore. silage and lasting power is good 5 hours on me- I find it lasts better on clothes than skin.

This is incredibly sexy! This smells like my lingerie drawer. Full of lace and stockings. If that doesn’t make any sense to you, I’m sorry, that’s the best way I can describe it. The lasting power on me is very good, considering not much stays on my skin. Very nice, naughty, and sensual. And please. …get a lingerie drawer!

  29. :

The smell itself nice, more subtle after the first 10 minutes pass. Beginning is light aldehydes, although they are not in the list. Flower violet in it nicely fits those climates. Then gently leather notes and musk, subtle and feminine. Brand from Britian initially produced lingerie. Then they exposed range with men products and perfumes, accessories etc .. English seduction. Hm .. as for me, although it’s interesting i’m not a big fan of this scent.

This scent reminds me of a friend of mine, who is sexy in that hourglass figured, glasses-wearing, “naughty librarian” kind of way. I find Maitresse or “Mistress” much more subtly suggestive and mysterious than her overtly sexual sisters L’Agent and the original Agent Provocateur perfume.
Agent Provocateur has definitely been influenced by other vintage perfumes, as I feel like this smells like something that I’ve smelt before (although I’m not able to tell you what that is – I can’t remember). This opens with aldehydes, which tinge the florals with their soapiness and give the scent it’s retro appeal. I can smell the apricot-like osmanthus, clean jasmine and creamy ylang-ylang behind the most dominant note – violets. The opening is creamier, before the violets take over, and I’m surrounded by a cloud of sweet violets, powdery iris and sensual suede, before everything gradually fades into a lighter floral scent.
On my skin, this reminds me of a retro version of Tom Ford’s Violet Blonde (please note that I do not consider this a dupe). Violet Blonde does have more of an ozonic, green leafy quality, whereas is this is more about the powder, suede and flowers. Whilst I’m happy to own this, I’m not sure if I would’ve bought a full bottle if I had of sampled it first, but I will continue to wear it and see if it grows on me 🙂 Longevity is for about 5-6 hours; sillage is moderate to heavy (at times).

I will have to check in again on this fragrance and write a proper review when I’ve test driven this one on my skin. Just received my three generous samples and gave it a first spritz…bright, beautiful floral. I get a lot of rose, which as a note, I am not really enjoying anymore. Also, this is going to drive me crazy all night, but this smells IDENTICAL to another (now vintage) fragrance I used to own or someone I knew well used to wear. I just can’t think of it!!! If anyone else thinks this smells familiar, please weigh in here.

The bimbo on the bottle nearly kept me from trying the fragrance. Luckily I found a bottle with only the text, no bimbo, and I love this fragrance. I don’t get why some people think it is very sexy, it is just a very very nice flowery scent. Not too sweet, just right. So if you hate the bottle in the photograph like me, don’t let it scare you away from this beauty. It is way easier to love than the other perfumes by AP (although I like the other ones too).

Fragrance Review For Maitresse Agent Provocateur
    Top Notes Ylang Ylang Lotus
Middle Notes Iris Osmanthus Violet Leaves Jasmine
Base Notes Suede Musk Amber Cedar Wood
“Aphrodite Daughter of Zeus, Enchantress, Love, Be Thou My Ally” – Hymn to Aphrodite by Sappho
Agent Provocateur fragrances are not as sexy as the lingerie they produce. They are meant to take you away to let your imagination soar and to pleasure you with beautiful aroma. If you are searching for Agent Provocateur fragrances thinking they will be “sexy” or “sex bombs” you need to know this right now: they are not going to attract any guy, they are designed to please YOU as the wearer. This is not very sexy. The only true sex bomb Agent Provocateur fragrance is L’Agent with that smoky incense. This is more like the first Agent Provocateur and the others, just a stunning floral scent. It’s very womanly, mature, elegant, classy, and like the inside of a turn of the century courtesan’s boudoir, with a mixture of perfume, and actual flowers. I picked up on the scent of lotus which is a flower I’m crazy a bout. It opens with lotus, not quite Oriental but clearly a watery lotus. The scent then develops into an arrangement of ylang, violets, jasmine and iris. If you don’t care for floral fragrances you can go forget about it. This is a heavenly floral aroma. Inhaling the scent I allowed my body and senses to be ravished by this fragrance. It’s quite strong and very perfumy and it takes over you. It’s so sexy. I can see why they would have the illustration of the sexy girl in stockings on the bottle. It’s the kind of perfume a man can really inhale and let it fill his head. One of my guy friends who can’t keep up with my perfumes smelled this on me one night after our dinner was over and I was going back home. We were in the taxi and he came up to my neck just to smell me. I was not uncomfortable as he has done this many times but this time I think he could have wanted more than just to smell me. This is the side effect of the womanly flower smell. It’s a bit like when your parents fell in love and made you. It is a floral aphrodisiac. It’s Aphrodite casting a spell of flowers. This scent matches up with the Greek poetess Sappho’s prayer to Aphrodite to get a man to fall in love with her. This is a love spell. And will it work? Only you can find out for yourself.

This is the first Agent Provocateur I’ve tried, I’ve always been drawn to the brand’s image but never thought I’d be able to live up to the sex-oozing scent they probably projected… Needless to say, I was hoping this would be a bit cheekier? Dare I say skankier maybe? To me, it’s a really nice floral, way more aldehydic than musky to me. But that’s just it… Nothing sultry bedroom about this one, way more office-everyday. Pretty, but way more ho-hum than I expected from the brand. Sillage is quite soft; lasting power, just, ehh.

This is a slightly fuller, spicier version of YSL Paris EDT. I have Paris on one hand and Maitresse on the other and they are very similar. Lots of soft violets and rose. Is it stronger than Paris? Yes and I do like it better.
This is a soft scent with a little pizzaz but it will never bowl anyone over or clear out a room.. and being called Maitresse? Yeah. This is much too mellow to call it that.

More of a night perfume. Very sexy.

The opening of this scent is a boring floral note. Your run of the mill floral fragrance. Certainly nothing to write home about. After sitting on my arm for a few hours, it starts to warm up a bit and smells a bit more musky.
It doesn’t stand out on my dresser full of fragrances so I don’t see a reason to buy a FB.
It actually reminds me of walking into a mall. That’s what a department store in the mall smells like. Or if you walked into the bedding department of a Laura Ashley. Florally, sweet and inoffensive. A room deodorizer perhaps.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

Literal sex bomb. The bottle is shaped like a bomb. A lot of women prefer L’Agent but I tested it and didn’t like it. Too much incense, nothing remotely sexy about it. Smelled like a Catholic church. Nothing to do with sex. This is the one you want. Sweet, floral, seductive. The kind of sweetness in this perfume is not a girly girl type of sweetness like the Paris Hilton fragrances. This is a womanly adult sweetness. A sweet woman who is beckoning a man into her boudoir in her lingerie. Opens with lotus and ylang-ylang, so right away it’s floral. Osmanthus jasmine iris and violets are in the heart. Iris is really noticeable and the violet is as strong as I like my violets. This kind of floral is elegant and powdery. It’s also got some leather or suede but it’s not as big as others seem to make it out to be. It’s there but I find this fragrance to be more on the woodsy and musky side toward the end. I wear this when I go out on dates or to wear in the bedroom.

This one is a worthy complement to the original AP fragrance, although the scent as such is quite different. It’s not as subtle and unusual as the other one, but rather a more common high quality female scent from the 2000s. It’s a bit like a more civilised version of Pure Poison, which makes it perhaps slightly too well-behaved to carry the AP brand. But really, only slightly.

They say everyone can access memories by scent. This is 100% flashback – not to sexy, for I was far too young to know what sexy was, but to elegant, ritzy, comforting ladies who knew who they were and where they were going, and they were going there in gorgeous platform shoes, fluffy white fur jackets and strings of pearls. This is the fragrance of the woman who told me I could be anything I wanted to be. Girlish violet escapes from the bottle like liquid smoke, drawing you in with it’s promises of youth and innocence. Lotus, Sambac and Osmanthus wrap their exotic, deep, floral fingers into your hair and tell you how pretty it is, letting it fall about your shoulders in a tumble of powdery musk, iris and softest kid glove suede … and, when she leaves to go out dancing with the chap who has come to collect her in his Aston Martin Gullwing, and you are left with your bedside lamp, English Language homework, a body growing at illogical and asymmetrical rates and the strains of Donny Osmond singing “Too Young”, the room is filled with the scent of night flowers, soft amber, and invisible powder puffs. I didn’t think I’d like it. I don’t. I LOVE it.

I reviewed this in 2009 – fast fwd to 2015: I recall one day after a long and sweaty hour and a half of high-cardio spin class… I was walking up some stairs and a man was behind me and he was going on and on about my perfume, which had been reactivated from the early morning (it was now 8pm) from my cardio derived sweat…it drove him nuts. I will always keep a bottle of this in my collection. It is not traditionally ‘me’ – it is quite floral for my tastes but it has a dark and sensual undertone that comes out to play once the initial flowery blast dust settles..and settles down. It lasts and lasts and i haven’t really smelled another like THIS. All hail, Agent Provocateur <3

Maitresse… ah. this is one powdery juice. It smells borderline old-fashioned to me. But somehow I like it still.
I can definitely smell the violet leaf there. And jasmine sambac. Something floral and quite pleasant. I
Love the suede in this but the overwhelming musk . … well. Normally – I detest musk. It doesn’t work well with my chemistry ( and I was suprised that there should be amber in this juice as I don’t detect it at all. .). so I have mixed feelings about this one. Sometimes I like this and sometimes it seems so overwhelming… (must be the musk) But one note though… Men seem to adore this scent!!! I am married with kids and whenever I wear this, other men seem to “gather around me” so if you’re a single – there’s a hint for you 🙂

If I were blind smelling this, without the influence of the brand or the bottle, I would have thought it was for a bride, or a younger but independent woman. It’s rather romantic, and far far away from sultry or sexy. Well, maybe sexy in a normal good girl in a wool sweater way…not a bad girl in provocative lingerie for sure.
It starts with a mix of florals, but not a great mix. I suppose the suede is supposed to give it an edge? Not really. Then it gradually becomes musky and a little powdery. Very feminine and comforting. I would have totally bought this at 20 years old, but not anymore, with my years of experience behind me. It’s overall a nice perfume, and I have always loved musk and powder, but it’s just not noteworthy. Fantastic bottle design.

Loved this when I first smelt it. It smells a bit slutty in a good way. Intriguing…. I was seriously considering buying it.
    But….
My boss has heavily sprayed it on herself for the past month.
It now makes me feel sick…………Shame…..Saved my money though 🙂
This is not an office perfume! I would not say a evening only perfume but not for work 🙁

MAITRESSE, for me, is a very sexy, daytime, work appropriate perfume. What do I mean by that . . . ?
Well, I feel like I can wear this to work, be provocative, but not be outlandish or too attention seeking. Sorta like a sexy librarian with her hair in a tight bun, horn rimmed black glasses on a chain, a pencil skirt and v-neck blouse with a pencil resting on her ruby red lips. You know, “sexy, but she doesn’t even realize it” type perfume.
This frag is a creamy apricot suede on my skin. Very unique. I love it! I would have given it my highest marks if the longevity and sillage weren’t so weak with my chemistry — which is another reason why I think this is a better daytime, rather than nighttime frag. But, the scent is so beautiful and alluring that, I’ll happily carry it in my “library” bag for reapplication as needed. 😉

Thump, thump goes my heart. This is a definitely has the Agent Provocateur signature. It has the under tone of AP but the top notes are light and creamy. My husband goes crazy for AP. When I had him smell this one he clung to me and wouldn’t let me go. It is sexy. I’m surprised people don’t find this one provocative.

This was love at first spray. To me, this scent is the epitome of beauty. A perfectly blended aldehydic masterpiece that lasts for hours. Nothing screechy or loud just a creamy powderiness I can’t get enough of.
If I wasn’t so attached to my beloved Noa Fleur, Maitresse would be my signature.

Fizzy, fuzzy Parma Violets (you know those little candy sweets that tasted of violets?). That captures this scent for me. Its slightly aldehydic, but warm and slightly sweet. Its very womanly, but not in a sex goddess kind of way, just a warm, voluptuous kind if way. I really love it, easy to wear, a bit different and really comfortable, doesn’t irritate me at all, just melds into my skin. Beautiful and well blended, will definitely repurchase this one.

Maitresse Gold Edition surprised me first of all for its warning on the bottle “shake well before use”.
The perfume comes out in a stream of tiny gold sparkles. This means be careful in spraying your clothes and hair.
Second impression: a strong blast of flowers, very loud as in those scents from the ’80es.
But, again, let the fireworks finish, sit and listen to the background notes.
Very intense and less loud than the beginning.
A sweet caramel like note peeps out from behind. Not as in the gourmand such as Angel or Visa, more muted and working as a connector between the flowers and amber.
A slight suede note caresses you with such a tenderness you are amazed it could be possible after the explosion of the beginning.
Like others have said, I find it more a comfort than a seduction scent but my idea of what’s sexy may not be shared by (and with) everyone.
    LOVELY.

Maitresse is not a sex goddess to me. She’s comforting, more of an embrace than a suggestive stroke.
She has a lovely throwback quality which I have to attribute to the aldehydes. I detect quite a bit of the note, but they’re approachable aldehydes. The kind aldehyde haters will find acceptable; a gentle gateway to the note.
The suede is just as noticeable. A lighter leather presentation. It’s cleaner and definitely softer. The suede holds the violet, ylang-ylang and musk gently together while the aldehydes uplift and cool the entire composition to perfection.
Maitresse gracefully sidesteps both the trap of trying to please everyone and conversely trying too hard to be different and edgy. The balance offers a wonderfully projecting, long lasting fragrance which feels both easy to wear and beautifully unique at the same time.
NOW, while I love the aesthetics of the bottle and how comfortably it snuggles into the palm of my hand, MY Maitresse is wearing a cozy pair socks not stockings and stilettos 🙂

What an amazing fragrance. It has a deep, sultry, sexy feel to it. This is one of the best, well composed powdery floral fragrances I have ever worn.
It has a very unusual feel to it, this one doesn’t scream “I’m here”, it just casually announces itself as you arrive. It seems to waft around all day, one spray and I am still smelling it on the way home from work!
Needless to say, it’s a 11 out of 10 for me, long lasting, decent sillage, and the best “feel” (especially if you are a powdery floral lo
