If l’Eau Bleue d’Issey Pour Homme were a dry, woody iris, this would be it. Am I disappointed? Slightly. Mauboussin Homme is one of my go-to picks for something quirky by wearable and well-complimented. This is basically Issey’s treatment of rosemary over a generic tonka-cedar base. I wasn’t expecting uniqueness or luxury, but I was hoping for a little more note contrast.

The initial blast is rosemary, quickly followed by tonka and cedar. The scent has a slight powdery touch to it but it is nothing compared to say, Dior Homme.
After about an hour all I get is a generic tonka-cedar combo. It does remain ever so powdery but all in all nothing special to be honest. This one also seems heavily discounted at the moment.
Projection is moderate to low. Bottle is alright and the cap is actually quite sturdy.
I too was expecting more from this scent but it doesn’t do much for me at this point. It’s just a safe, versatile scent.
5/10

It’s an ok scent. Powdery, masculin (unfortunately a bit synthetic).
Not a common smell, but nothing extraordinary.
I was expecting more from this one as the nose is Karine Dubreuil (Gucci pour homme II so close to my heart).
As for the price, I got it for 26 euros -30 dollars (shipping included).

It has already entered my top ten! I simply love the powdery abundance topped with the powerful iris and sandalwood and tonka in the drydown. Up there with Hermès Narcisse Bleu and Eisenberg Le Péché! Perfection!!
Bravo!
Edit:
The dry down on me is almost identical to Escada’s gorgeous Magnetism for men!

Test it @CnF. OMG….this smells like Lanvin Arpege PH. Dark n powdery, this is what I’ve been looking for after longing for Lanvin APH.

So what does it smell like, @joenick68? Been eyeing this one off as well since I re-discovered Maubousson Homme recently, but hesitated blinding this one as the notes reminds me of the compositions of the Dior Homme line and Armani Nuit, etc. Which I have and have grown tired of.

I can’t believe I am the first reviewer for this fragrance and that it has not got too much attention in the community.
So far I am the only one owner of one here, but pretty sure some have forgotten to add it to their collection.
What it surprises me is that as one of the newest releases from the house is not posted on their main web site in France, I wonder why.
I also noticed that the nose behind it is the same that Gucci Pour Homme II, which is definitely a good one and is in my shelves.
I became a follower of this house, last year and I got most of its colognes for men, and I only discarded one, but I think in general they are quality fragrances.
In regards this new release I think is very different from what I have from the house, I dared to wear it now in the Summer but I would say is a Fall-winter cologne and I will have to give it some more tries during that season to see how it performs in a colder weather. So far I can say I liked it but I not totally bought by it, but I can say it has a long longevity, it lasted all day ’til the point I went to bed and I could still smell it on me, not in a bad way, it was a very pleasant masculine dry down.
It was a blind buy, but I don’t regret it.
