Juniper bush/mountain man in a bottle.
Eddie Bauer had a couple great colognes, but discontinued them way too soon. Top notch, long-lasting scent from a clothing store.

This starts out strong but soon becomes quite soft, though with a slight edge to it. I also find it ever so slightly metallic. The drydown, which comes on quickly, it a bit sweet/citrus (orange?), a bit creamy (quite soft), and a bit woody (hardly noticeable), but what impresses me is that there is a pleasant cool quality, which I can’t remember any scent having (though I’m not suggesting this quality is unique, because I don’t sample that many recent releases). There’s a little musk, but it’s more like “clean smoke” rather than anything animalic or wet/heavy. There may be some very mild spice or herbal element but this is quite blended and if there is it’s minimal. When I waft it to my nose the juniper berry is considerably more obvious. This one seems to have been intended as a crowd pleaser, so I’m not sure the aficionado would be interested, other than as a change of pace, and with prices being what they are, I’d guess there are less expensive options.
UPDATE: This seems to be the kind of scent that has strong top notes, then is relatively weak for a while, and then some amber in the base kicks in and it seems to get stronger. What I’m getting now is a bit of amber with the clean smoke/musk and juniper berry forming an accord and playing off the creamy/sweet/fruity/ambery (probably with some spice too) highly blended element. It works well and I can certainly see the appeal. The woodiness is mostly gone but I think there is a touch of patchouli in the base. Also, the green edge to the juniper seems to become more pronounced over time, probably because it holds up better than the other notes.
UPDATE #2: Now that I’ve had a chance to wear Sauvage in the usual way (not just smelling on a card), I’d say this is very similar, especially after an hour or two. Sauvage seems stronger but not as “natural” smelling, though Adventurer II is very strong. It’s got a touch of scents like Safari for Men, probably due to juniper, etc., and it has a hint of sweetness, whereas I got little if any sweetness from the Sauvage drydown, but otherwise I’d say Sauvage isn’t as good as Adventurer II, and to me, it may be wearable, whereas I can’t imagine wearing Sauvage again (and I used a tiny amount when I wore Sauvage in the normal way – applied to the chest).
