Scorpion_666 – :
Another apparently discontinued perfume by Daniel Vaudd, whose venture appears to have been rather shortlived and may have completely fizzled out by now, Actus Reus bizarrely attempts to smell like Van Cleef & Arpels First–or at least that’s what it seems to wish to smell like.
This reminds me of how in painting classes students may attempt to produce a copy of a masterpiece in order to gain a deeper understanding of a master’s techniques. I don’t know. Actus Reus does not smell anywhere as nice as First, and that ugly word which I so diligently attempt to avoid is threatening to leap from my tongue: knock-off. There, I said it.
Old lady aldehydes and rose and jasmine and leather in place of civet. Not bad, but just okay. It lacks the depth and dimensionality of the original.
Batrach – :
too much cheap creamy rose smell.
