I love the Lavender & Thyme from this line and had to try many of the others. I do agree with some other reviewers that this line has a lack of staying power. I found Melissa & Verbena a bit too masculine for my taste as it reminded me of my husband’s aftershave. He is happy to take it from me.

I adore this whole Acqua Colonia herbal/fruit range and have almost every one, but I am a little disappointed with the Lemon and Verbena. It starts out too sharply in my opinion, but does dry down and “calm down” so that after ten minutes I’m no longer jerking my nose away from the spot I sprayed because it is still so overpowering. I think I’ll try layering it with something lightly floral and see if that makes it more wearable in public. At the moment I suspect friends who smell this on me will think I accidentally spilled a glass of citrus infused water on myself. I prefer the Lemon and Ginger and in particular the Mandarin and Cardamom fragrances in this range. They are just so gorgeous and refreshing on a hot day. Not terrible, but not my favourite either.

Very nice opening and heart, but the base has something in it that I just don’t like. Verbena and Melissa are listed, but there must be more than that from what I’m smelling. Starts out fresh and lemony, but after about 15 minutes, dries down to something a bit…dusty and metallic? I’m not sure how to describe it. Very natural opening, but the drydown is horribly synthetic to me.

I thought it will be more like “cristalle verte ” chanel that I adore, but no here lemon verbena more heavy and sweet metallic medical smell.
This cologne has great silage and good longevity, but also some dryness and it not l’occitane “lemon verbena” versions -here I can feel more intensity and sharpness.
For someone who like “diorella” dior and looking for retro colognes it’s will be good.

I love this fragrance! It is so fresh and vital.
My parents had a large lemon verbena bush growing outside their back door. Mum would often pick some and leave it to dry. The leaves were very delicate and easily crushed when dry but retained the wonderful lemony aroma. We would add the leaves to potpourri or mix them in with lavender sprigs.
This is lemon verbena with a twist of extra lemon and a sprig of mint. I don’t know what lemon balm smells like but I’m going to have to seek some out.
This fragrance is uplifting and optimistic. A good mood in a bottle!

I L O V E THIS COLOGNE . Perfect & Simple ! Blind Buy after all the kind words on here. This is my favorite “Lime / Barbershop” smell of all time ! Longevity is weak/faint (on me- others seem to have no problem). Sits VERY close to the skin!
DOES ANYONE KNOW if there is a similar frag to this that lasts for many hours or even all day ? (I’ll bet Jo Malone knows).
Like someone else on here said : I now want to try ALL the products in this line!
Already thinking of buying a BUB (back up bottle).
SUMMERY: Sparkling lime barbershop smell is spiffy and good natured for the price but must be used as if it’s a male answer to Jean Nate as a “splash” or “freshener upper” instead of an EDT or EDP.

Melissa and Verbena is one of my favorites in this line along with Lavender & Thyme and Pink Pepper & Grapefruit.
My review can’t add much more than anyone else has. It’s a beautiful, simple, summer scent. It’s made for everyday wearing – to the office, to the store, around anyone at anytime.
M&V lasts a few hours on me, quite well for what you would expect.

I love this so much. It’s by far my favourite of this collection although it took me a good month to figure that out. This one is the “smoothest” and just seems to blend in with whatever mood, whatever weather. I find it light and crisp, and love it when it spills onto my clothes, and need to get a bigger bottle of it REALLY soon!

I’m looking for a purfume smell like jo malone verbena en provence . I ever tried l’occitance but it’s not, finally i found this perfume. Oh..it’s great, it make me refresh all day in a humid day. First time, i spray it on my skin. Smell not like lemon balm & verbena but i feel it similarly like lemongrass and verbena. That’s okay. many hours past, i smell a lightly sweet stick on my skin. Ha ha feel like a good smell from baby skin ^^ and now i love to combine with jo malone english pear and freesia.

This is really very lovely and very much what it says on the tin. Citric without verging on rotting fruit, refreshing without the searing ozone. Just a very comfortable, easy to like verbena scent with a mild floral halo in the drydown. Speaking of the drydown, it lacks that whole slightly-moldy-peel-floating-in-a-glass-of-water thing that turns me off of even niche citric scents.
It’s mild and you’ll definitely want to reapply but at this price I say have at it.

Very clean and fresh citrus, with good longevity for a EDC. I’m definitely going to try more from this line.

Once I wanna try all the 4711 cologne line, for all of them give me an impression of fresh.
Last summer when I was lingering in Beijing’s Hutong with my BF,I sprayed this one. And now every time I smell this odeur,it just reminds me of the old past good time.
Of course, the longevity is quite poor, about 30mins?
Maybe I like this one because it teaches me that smell can be a love letter.

I just love the concept of 4711 Acqua Colonia line. Those are herbal, simple scents lifted to a form of perfume, cologne to be exact. I am big fan of those type of fragrances. Melissa & Verbena smells like bergamot & lemongrass, but again done in a fancy, happy way!
sur0k – :
I bought this last summer and I was positively surprised. It’s a wonderful bouquet that keeps you fresh for hours – surprisingly long for this price range.
It lasts long and smells fantastic.
Can4e3 – :
This is a really nice cologne, it feels herbal with a sweet twist of citrus, very good choice for summer; but the sad side is the amount of parabens in it, too much.
ajinnaver – :
Great green verbena scent, but yeah, doesn’t last well. Still, for a cologne strength, it works. Might be a nice pick-me-up in hot months.
snonnagex – :
For people who like a “cheap version” of the Aqua Allegoria scents, this might be an option. Since I’m not a lemon or green fan, this one is not for me. It’s quite herbal and doesn’t have good lasting power.

I had a chance to smell this profusely from testers around and I really like it! Every time I pass by a store that carries this fragrance I spray it.
I already own and love 4711 Kolnish Wasser and especially their refreshing tissues in a small box, but Melissa&Verbena is so much better as a cologne. It is much longer lasting and alla in all I classify it as a perfume for summer.
In spite of only two notes listed it has more complexity, even if lemon balm and lemon verbena are already very aromatic plants and especially good for women according aromatherapy.
Lemon balm is relaxing and soothing especially for female problems and lemon verbena is clean and softly stimulating. Anyway this cologne doesn’t smell like a typical aromatherapic mix, because it also has some kick as perfume and it lasts nicely on my skin.
It gives some fresh feeling during summer and I think it’s perfect for workplaces. I would rate it closer to Guerlain Aqua Allegoria concept.
I will buy either this or Guerlain’s AA Mandarin Basilic.
A man could surely wear this too but I feel it as softly feminine.
It’s good priced but much more expensive than original.
EDIT: once I decided to go for a FB I could not find it anymore where I live.
Since I had to fly to Frankfurt I had it in my head. They must have it there! And there it was at freeshop. I really like the smell so clean and herbal. It reminds me a little bit of after-shave because it’s not sweet floral like my usual scents, but a great buy.
It lasts a lot on skin for an eau de cologne.
