Reminds me a lot of Guerlains LIDG..verry close to my nose.

I appreciate Diptyque fragrances in general, and I really wanted to love this, but it wasn’t to be. I enjoyed wearing 34BSG in EdT format and used up around 10 mL or so. It was the eucalyptus note that pulled me in and kept me coming back to that fun, intentional hot mess of a fragrance. After a while, however, the EdT started to grate on me – while it had initially seemed well-blended, it started to come apart on my skin, and all I could smell was something akin to melting plastic.
The EdP unfortunately takes the synthetic aspects of the EdT and ups the ante. The most straightforward way to describe the EdP is to imagine taking the EdT and adding Iso-E super (for the “well-blended” effect), maybe some Mysore Wood 260108 B (for the “creamy” effect) and the most generic synthetic “spice” note you can find (the one that screams “department-store fragrance for men”). These scratchy and synthetic aspects of the fragrance emerged pretty quickly – within 10 minutes of application, my eyes and the back of my throat were burning.
With the exception of Tempo and Volutes, I haven’t cared much for Diptyque’s releases over the past few years. Perhaps they have just undergone a stylistic change that I am still getting my mind around? I guess I’ll stick with the older favorites.

Warm, easy, laid-back, comforting and classy – a scent to put you at your ease, truly unisex and with better longevity than many a Diptyque. Nothing freaky-weird about it, and perhaps a little closer to mainstream than usual for the house, without being generic. This is gentle, organic, sanded wood, and restrained spicing which adds more round, robust heft, rather than making it all spiky and startling. I didn’t get much detectable on the floral side, but an exceptionally real and not-sickly vanilla note definitely holding it together in the middle. Overall it’s mellow, welcoming, solid. In a word: reassuring. For me, not a lightning bolt of instant love, but a special thing and a beautifully-finished piece of work.

Could never warm up to the EDT, there was something about it that was just to cloying to me. The EDP, however, is fantastic. Much heavier, not as sweet, and a tad more masculine than the EDT. A very solid release.

I love what Diptyque does with the EDP releases, and i loved the original EDT, so this may just have to be a blind buy for me. Sounds extraordinary.

Just picked up my pre-order today! The sandalwood in this is totally different from Tam Dao, or the EDT. It’s creamier and I love the tonka bean berry combo. When I read pink berries, I thought maybe it’s actually pepper, but no it’s actually tart. I will come back and add more after I get to know it better, but first impression is that this is absolutely stunning! If you liked the EDT you’re in for a real treat, and like other Diptyque fragrances the concentration is not the only difference here. The notes above have not been adjusted to account for the changes in the new release yet, but I am very, very pleased with this addition to the line.

Beautiful, Opulent, quite formal, and heavier than the EDT.
I absolutely love this, its everything I hoped they would put into it.
I loved the EDT when it came out, just felt it “needed something”. the EDP does cover that (and then some!) I don’t get a lot of powder, not like with the edt. Both start off with what I associate with juniper berries. probably something else but hey can only go off my personal scent memories.
There’s a definite sweetness but its not overly sweet. There are a menagerie of phases one goes through with this scent and it changes quite a bit. The added woods is unmistakable and can lend a more masculine feel.
As with the EDT, cinnamon is the most pervasive spice and seem to be the spice that ribbons it all together. Maybe that is from Eau Lente? At any rate it does beautifully hold the scent together, allowing all the other notes dance around it.
The scent changes every day you wear it. I don’t always smell the same stuff Its quite a shape shifter. few evenings ago I smelled apples! I’ve noticed something different every day I’ve worn it. When I wear this I spend a lot of time locked into what I’m smelling. I won’t lie, as much as I love it, it can be a bit distracting!
Longevity and sillage are excellent. If it helps, I live in a humid climate and didn’t notice it being too much… And with each wearing I got more than a few unsolicited compliments!
Expensive at 200 dollars for 75ml but then again, its off the charts kinda strong, so if you’re spraying 5 times, thats 3 times too many! Even in a humid environment with 2 sprays under clothing, it lasts at least 12 hours. Cooler weather I would guess it would last a heck of a lot longer.
If you didn’t like this as an EDT, that feeling will not change…lol this is really double and more of that! Some people feel this is “potpourri, and yeah I guess it could be in a way. but its the best smelling kind IMO.
