A safe area to play around before entering the serious oud/rose world!
well, usually I am fond of oud/rose combination, but sometimes, these kinds of fragrances miss the road; some tend to have so much spiciness or so much “leather” note, or be medicinal more than they should be, or have the sour/ green base that makes me feel sick!!!
whereas, here I find this fragrance stand for Oud/rose combination, as it has the right amount of spiciness, musk, and the other woodsy notes!
longevity: v. good.
for the price I give it 8/10.

This fragrance reminds me of Faqat Lil Rijal without the barnyard/fecal notes. This is much more wearable.

Did not like this fragrance when I first got it, but it has grown on me. Very good performance on me. I prefer oud fragrances that don’t have rose and I find rose to be the dominant note in this fragrance.

I will finally make a review on this after owning samples for few months now. This is a strong fragrance to me. I mean very strong to my nose. The combination of rose and oud makes me want to hate this fragrance. It’s not a bad smell but it’s just strong. Strong feminine. And it last for hours maybe 4 to 5 hours depending on how many you spray it. But the dry down is amazing much more calmer and tone down which is good. It’s one of those fragrance that will hate and like it at the end. If they can reformulate this bottle with less rose I would buy full bottle. Rose and oud doesn’t fit me. But will sample it more and more to see if my nose can get use to it. Overall all its a unique scent with best longevity and projection last 12 hours plus in my skin.

24 Platinum Oud marks another interesting creation by Scentstory from the 24 line, connected to its namesake 24 Platinum but unique and fun deviation in its own right. 24 Platinum Oud might be best be characterized as a classic rose/oud combination, with these two aspects dominating the fragrance. There is more citrus in the opening and perhaps some patchouli and other woods in the dry down as the notes breakdown suggests, but this is thoroughly rose and oud from start to finish. As far as rose/oud combinations go, 24 Platinum Oud isn’t too heavily earthy, as one might argue of
24 Platinum Oud departs from 24 Platinum a bit more than 24 Gold Oud departs from 24 Gold. Whereas 24 Platinum is a semi-green rose mixed spiciness that dries down to a sweet vanilla, 24 Platinum Oud is not green, and is more of a rose/oud combination that lacks the sweeter vanilla-based dry down of 24 Platinum. Whereas I disliked the extremes of 24 Platinum (the acerbic opening to the powder/vanilla bomb dry down).
Strong like the other 24s I’ve tried, Platinum Oud is a welcome try for rose oud fans, and an affordable one at that, at $65 for 100ml or so on FragranceX. This isn’t an instant must-have bottle for me, but after another wearing or two, I might consider it. It definitely isn’t as strong of an entry overall as 24 Gold or even 24 Gold Oud, and there are better roses and rose ouds out there, but perhaps not at this price.
7 out of 10

This is a nice rose/oud fragrance that is decent for the price but certainly nothing new and original. The longevity and projection are decent but not outstanding, especially compared to 24 Gold and 24 Gold Oud Edition. If you don’t own any rose/oud fragrances this wouldn’t be a bad place to start.

So they’ve finally landed on fragrantica! My main concern when these were announced was really how much better are they going to be? I’ve had oud editions for a week now and I can honestly say I’m glad I purchased them despite having all of the 24 range (and back up bottles.)
I’ve started with this one because in my opinion it differs more from the original than Gold does with it’s counterpart.
The original 24 Platinum was an odd fish, a musky oud rose fragrance but with a sharpness of citrus throughout, which made for a strange combo. Stranger still that oud was not listed among the notes, yet abundantly clear to any nose sniffing this fragrance. What I liked about this was that it was unusual and unlike anything else out there. The closest comparison I could draw was Acqua di Parma Colonia Oud and perhaps Tom Ford Oud wood with a nod to more common Oud/rose combos as well..as I said 24 Platinum was a bit of a rubix cube.
This oud edition is quite a departure in that it’s more of a traditional Oud/rose and frankly not as challenging for me as the original was.
Oud edition still has elements of that metallic, citrus thing from the original but it’s very muted.
Think of a strong musky rose from Montale I think this is somewhere between White Aoud and Roses Musk. I’ve used those as recent reference points but I think quite accurately as it does have that synthetic OTT vibe of Montale about it.
For this reason the opening is too rosy for me and not as refined as something with a more woody charater, medicinal oud vibe or patchouli/vanilla/saffron etc…
That’s not to say I don’t like it…far from it! This is superb fragrance for the price and I would encourage anyone looking for a rose fragrance to check this out before forking out big sums on niche juice. £37.50 for 100ml’s can’t argue with that!
I mentioned the opening but have neglected the drydown somewhat because it is really really nice. The rose is still there but settles back, the musk is less prominent and the woody qualities sing on my skin becoming softer.
Longevity and projection are insane.
