Description

The house of Paco Rabanne‘s fragrance for men is announced as a fresh and sensual blend of notes, with glittery shine of gold, for which creator Paco Rabanne says the following: “In all civilizations and religions gold has always managed to seduce people”. Gold is all around us: in architecture, design, jewelry, clothes, accessories, fashion…It is noticeable and respected worldwide and it possesses divine notes. The bottle of this edition for men is created in golden nuances. It represents power, wealth, luxury, durability…

The perfume was inspired by Paco Rabanne‘s metallic fashion and created in cooperation with three famous noses for perfumes, Christophe Raynaud, Olivier Pescheux and Michel Girard, who mixed this year’s edition from the notes of sparkling grapefruit, red orange, mint, rose, cinnamon, spices, blond leather, blond wood, patchouli and amber.

The perfume is available in the amount of 50 and 100 ml, as an edt and with accompanying body care products. 1 Million arrived in August 2008.

1 Million 18 Carats is a LUXE edition that captures with its provocative notes, only for the privileged buyers. The package is very luxurious, made of golden body with a diamond crown. Each bottle is separately numerated and the edition is limited. The outer package – a case that holds a golden lever, is created by Noe Duchaufour-Lawrence.

Let us remind you of the fragrant composition: the perfumers behind it are Christophe Raynaud, Olivier Pescheux and Michel Girard, and the notes are: sexy blood orange, grapefruit, cinnamon, mint, rose, spices, light leather, white wood, patchouli and amber. The new bottle of 1 Million 18 carats is available in 100 ml and it can be re-filed with the perfume.

I have had a bottle of this for quite a while and don’t really wear it that much, but when i do i love wearing it, i love the opening in particular, that sweet bubblegum-esque scent with the suede really appeals to my nose. It is a playful scent and i think appeals more to the younger crowd.

    It’s just my opinion.
Wear it before going to the tire shop, excellent if mixed with the smell of new tires.
Avoid using it by the pool, doesn’t work with the smell of chlorine.

Dude this scent reminds of those 90s scented markers with a hint of mint and bubblegum but in a good way though. Definitely has a nostalgic vibe. My girl seems to like this on
me but I guess it’s ok it took awhile for me to get into this fragrance but due to that 90s scented markers smell is reason why I enjoy it

Fragrance that is all smoke and no roast. Used only for advertising but if we talk about quality and meaning the answer is: 0.

Not for me generic sweet and sickly smells like so many others today obviously aimed at the younger inexperienced fragrance buyer

I really like this frag a lot and it will always be in my rotations! This juice is very sweet and very pleasant! Women absolutely love it! Perfect for fall and winter. I also purchased a 1 Million deodorant and after shave.
Just a word of warning…don’t wear it if you are going to be outside on a warm/sunny day because it will attract bees.

I am not a perfume expert, perfume historian nor a connoisseur.
But in my own opinion this is what I consider a groundbreaking fragrance when it came out. Nothing have smelled something like 1 Million before it came out and it was the hype back then. It was once a king of men’s fragrances in opinion. A one of a kind in the designer market.
I think the dislike votes are because people smells this often. It is a great fragrance in my opinion that’s why so many guys bought it and now it is a victim of its own success.
If for some reason this gets discontinued tomorrow, the people that disliked this might be the ones buying a couple bottles. Nothing smelled liked one million and this cologne started a trend.
This is one perfume that I can say was groundbreaking when it came out. In my books I gave it 10/10 the first time I bought it during winter of 2008. Today it is still 10/10 on my books because this was part of the first batch of my perfume collection. Sometimes I turn on the A/C in my room and spray this while chilling and watching Netflix at night.

There’s a lot going on but I absolutely cannot stand it. Way too heavy for me, it’s as subtle as a brick wall, just oppressive and nauseating. I feel like if I could just water this down to about half the strength, I could get my nose in and there might be something interesting here, but as it is, if I try it’s just headache inducing. Total scrubber for me, but to be fair, I really just can’t do these heavy, sweet scents. Just not for me.

It’s one of my favorite fragrances I own. I hear people always say how popular and common it is, but I’ve never smelled it before until I tried it on at Dillard’s and bought me a bottle.I am always asked what cologne I’m wearing when wearing it. I’ve owned it for a few months now, and I’ve still yet to smell anyone else wearing this fragrance.

First impression: Interesting, purple, ‘full’ or rounded?. Nice to smell but don’t want to smell like it.
Later: Rose petals, creamy vanilla, light cinnamon. My sense of what is masculine or feminine are playing against each other, while also not having to question that it’s a masculine smell. Reminds me of berries, even though I don’t smell them. Colour association; deep purple with a short burst of gold on the end.
    24h later: Vanilla and roses.
Over all it seems warm yet distant, relaxed yet professional… It’s a pleasant smell but don’t like it as a fragrance if that makes sense. Not for me at least.

The thing with this fragrance is because its so popular people hate it…. is that good or is that a bad?… i honestly love it.. its a great fragrance that just lingers around for ages BUT!!!! You can pick it from a mile away and everyone wears it

Now that the hype has died down I can appreciate it for what it is, sexy versatile scent that is playful but serious, there isn’t an ounce of bland in this. Not for the shy of heart, this is for the go getters. Perfect for a day at the amusement park, mini golf, bowling, clubbing, bars and date nights. 7.5/10

I have avoided buying this fragrance for years, only because it is so popular. And it is popular for a reason: it is very good. So, after many years of avoiding buying this fragrance, I have succumbed to its charms. Now I am the owner of a bottle of One Million; and you know what? I am happy about that.

  21. :

    5 out of 5

Yes, I know what you are going to say: Overly popular, everyone uses it, blah blah blah … but, some years ago, 1 million was my signature Scent. I remember very well when I started using it because it was at the same time I started dating my girlfriend (now my wife!). I remember that I thought it was a very innovative perfume because it had masculine notes but with a feminine touch; A sweet smell of roses, cinnamon, and leather … I loved it. It’s funny, but if I had to assign a color to this perfume, I’d say it smells like the color purple, and I do not know why hahaha. Despite all the hatred that this perfume generates in the community, for my wife, Along with Creed – Green Irish Tweed, this is one of her favorites, and loves to smell it on me (even though in my collection I have more than 130 perfumes). I think if you can see through the snobbery you will realize that 1 million still gets compliments.

I am so glad that there was a tester that I could smell before buying. I cannot define what I smelled – the worst I have tried as far as I can remember.
To be fair, this is probably nice to someone who love cinnamon with lemon.

Such a shame this one gets so much hate. I think many younger guys wear it on warm days or when they go clubbing, which really doesn’t work well with 1 Million (despite the intended marketing of the scent).
I discovered it in 2011 and was not aware of the hype around it at the time. I would wear it in cold, snowy Boston winters, and it worked wonderfully against the freezing weather. I always felt as if it created some sort of soothing aura that made the relentless winds of the East Coast somewhat bearable.
One or two sprays on the neck under a heavy scarf on a cold day will go a long way and evoke the mysterious side of this fragrance. I would definitely not wear this in warm places. More suited for playful personalities; I can’t imagine a composed, sophisticated older gentleman wearing this.

Lets go back a few years shall we….?
Around 2008/2009 I remember the buzz and advertisements fo Paco Rabannes new big thing. The new release 1 Million for men in a unique looking gold bar bottle.
I remember thinking wow what a great looking bottle and when I finaly caught a whiff I remember thinking how amazing this fragrance was. Amazingly sweet and loud in all the right ways. Its performance was steller literally room filling for hours… how I miss those days of genuine room filling power projecting off my skin.
Walking through clubs and thinking my god that smells f-ing fantastic, that and Le Male for that matter at that period in time.
Fast forward to current day and we are left with this being a shadow of its former self fragrance. Gone is the room filling projection and in is the having to reapply after 3 hours because its basicly a skin scent after an hour because we are living in a day and age where we are scared of offending other people with amazing smelling perfume.
And still I read people saying what an obnoxious beast of a fragrance this is….
A former beautiful beast of a fragrance to me anyway…

I was wearing this incorrectly. Had it on in the summer during sweltering temperatures. I automatically hated this, made me nauseous I was about to give it away. Decided to wear it in colder weather, less humid temperature it’s a winner. It’s spring but it’s brisk at 54 with wind calmly blowing. I am enjoying as so are others that get a good whiff.

I was not a huge fan of this until recently…
My girlfriend wears the female version and accidentally bought the male version for herself… Once it was opened she could not return it so it became mine.
The smell is very synthetically dense as it reminds me of old sweet, warm, spicy dense smells of the late eighties.
My main issue with this perfume is performance… The bottle I own has very strong opening and fades to nothing in around 1 to 1.5 hours.
(it was bought in a sale in a reputable pharmacy chain so no fake but maybe bad stock)
In a British article it was one of the men’s perfumes “which drives women crazy”!!
    I can see why!
I think this site is full of trolls to rate it as 3.45/5 (currently)
I like it very much and would have love it if the perfomance was better!
For me this is a desirable fragrance!
    8/10
EDIT: 2 compliments (both female) in a party 21-07-18

This is a classic fragrance! The smell is rich, smooth, mildly-sweet, with an infusion of freshness, that’s refined and long lasting. Ignore all the silly hate mongers that bash One Million.
One Million is an excellent winter, fall, spring, and summer night fragrance, that reeks of masculinity, sophistication, success, and swag! The bottom line reality about One Million is that it smells great, and is the truth!

I wasn’t a huge fan of the licorice, musk this has to my nose, but I have a love/hate thing with it as it gets some compliments at a distance.
The initial spray is a cinnamon, licorice musk and has some beastly projection. It starts to dry down into sweet and warmer scents. The cinnamon is still there and it has a tobacco-like smell to it.
This scent projects for about 2 to 3 hours on my skin which is one of the best performances I’ve had from an EDT. The overall smell lasts for 6 to 7 hours which is up there with the ones I choose for a night out.
Overall, the scent performs great, it gets you compliments, and it has the strength to go into the night, but I do not personally like the licorice and strong musk notes. As a scent, I give it an 8/10, but personal preference is 3/10! Cheers!

This was my signature scent back in the day. Went beast mode on it when I went clubbing and it always seems to work with the girls. I used to always spray this on my sheets too. Works magic. This is a scent I’ll always remember.
Wouldn’t wear this anymore but smelling this once in awhile is still amazing.
This fragrance brings back too many memories for me.

I have this fragrance for some months, I have been using it during cold days or during the night and its matches perfectly on those occasion, in my opinion this perfumes is “sweet”, manly and badboy-seductor. People say this perfume had its time, that today it doesnt fit anymore for whatever reasons and blablabla… but I totally disagree, the smell is outstanding , it has a lot of personality and his popularity is explained by its quality, girls fall in love by this one and they know how to sense a good fragrance!
It has a very good longevity and a very good projection, but its better go easy on the trigger because its very strong.
    Projection: 8/10
    Longevity: 9/10
    Sillage: 10/10

You know something is good when haters are loud and plenty.
Think about it. How many brilliant scientists weren’t shun by society in the dark ages. How many groundbreaking progressive composers / musicians / bands weren’t fround upon before they became legends.
This frag is a milestone. It will have its haters – and they will be loud. But the vast majority will appreciate its brilliance.
Personally, I love this. And my love for this frag is a mix between objectively liking the smell and subjectively having a lot of feelgood memories tied to it. To me, this frag is associated with positive vibes, good energy and happiness. It’s my goto for times of fun and smiles.
EDIT: Feel like I wouldn’t be able to add much by describing the actual smell – looks like every possible variation and nuance has been printed at least a dozen times.
Drawback is the longevity, which is by no means awful; just not beastmode. But hey – if you want it to perform longer, just re-apply. The atomizer is pretty bad also, but all is forgiven when I smell it. Will definitively buy another bottle when I run out.

I really dont understand why this is so popular.
I find it to be an awful, headache-inducing frag.
Its also way too heavy and obnoxious.

I tried this on today and I laughed at how it smelled very comparable to bubblegum. A very crazy cinnamon sweetness. I probably won’t be even to wear this for the kiddy gimmick due to how heady it is. I think this would be more tolerable if it had more musk and citrus to balance that sweetness out.

I don’t know why people say that it smells like bubble gum they must me out of theyr minds because nothing like that maybe 10% to 15 but the whole 45 minutes to 1 hour it’s about blood manderine sugary grapefruit mint and after that the cinamon leather amber kicks in with the light rose note this is simply the best main notes cinamon manderine amber rose

Only got the sample size. Smells good. I don’t care for sweet but it’s a balanced sweet. I hated le male because it smelled like baby powder. It smells like a hint of that but with some sweet and spice. My problem is the newer version you can’t really smell. Granted I have no freaking clue how much to dab on. I will only buy spray samples from now on.

According to the house advertising copy, the male personification of 1 Million is “the ultimate bad boy with an innocent gaze,” “an ultra-connected icon with hundreds of thousands of followers” — oh, and “amongst his tattoos, one on his left arm states ‘only the good’.”
Once you know that, you know what you’re getting into with this scent. 1 Million is deliberately marketed to young guys whose only concern when it comes to fragrances is “bruh, is this one a panty-dropper?”
If you’re expecting something sophisticated and complex from this juice, you’re not paying attention.
But once you understand the ground rules and what to expect, it’s not a bad juice. It’s a very sweet fusion of blood mandarin, sugary grapefruit, and mint. It suggests the smell of freshly-chewed fruit gum.
There may be a hint of tonka bean and amber after a few hours, but on the whole, the sugary fruit opening doesn’t really let those warmer notes have much space.
But I still kinda like it. The blood mandarin is nice, a little bit addictive. And yes, it’s gotten me unsolicited compliments.
That marketing campaign can go straight to hell, though.

Once upon a time, if you wore this fragrance as a man… You were getting laid. Wear this now, and you smell like every other male. I’ve personally smelled this on so many young guys it has now unfortunately become boring, repetitive, and predictable. I won’t wear it for this simple reason. The smell itself is a classic. Long lasting and great sillage. The ladies still like it however you’re more likely to receive comments like “Oh, are you wearing One Million?”. As long as you’re okay with this, go for this lady killer.

I take a jog at around 6:00 – 7:00 morning daily as young businessmen start commuting and I can’t believe the fact that many of them still wear this for work!
This is the smell that I don’t fancy sniffing from anyone else very early in the morning (especially during jogging), but it’s OK in nightclubs.

I wanted a winter fragrance and two that have been on my list are original 1 MIL and original spice bomb. Did the cold weather test and both were beautiful. I found spice bomb comforting and 1 mil fun and sexy. While spice bomb was my preference, my wife who’s 30 preferred 1 mil because it was “lighter” (one spray to each wrist). Now although lighter, it projeacted way more.
On to the review. I liked this 8 years ago but wasn’t into loud fragrances. I like it now (I have bought a couple twists from armaf) even more.
Cinnamon and citrus open this up, cloying in warm weather but surprisingly fresh in winter. The rose note is the subtle difference between the original and all the clones, on my skin the blend is beautiful.
The dry down isn’t my favourite, a little too much sweet vanilla (armaf does vanilla better) and soft woods.
I needed it for my collection but I’m not really that excited about it. I kind of wish i bought spicebomb. But my wife is a fan and I thoroughly enjoy the mid notes so, still a great buy.

I really don’t get it, why this has 3.46 out of 5?! You can hate it, you can say everybody wears it, but you can’t say it is bad! It’s lovely scent, and there is a reason why it became so popular!
First time I sprayed this, was october 2008, and I will remember it forever! It is very modern, and maybe it could be unisex, but I have always thought women fragrances are better. They are more sweet, and I like sweet fragrances.
It has that dna of late 2000’s era and I like that modern approach to men fragrances: 1 Million, D&G The One and YSL La Nuit de l’Homme.
Maybe I’m just biased because this fragrance evokes some memories and sets me back in 2008/09.

After a long time I started using this perfume again, and I am shocked.
Recently, the outside temperature has fallen so I tested my PR1M again.
Few weeks and I very often get compliments from men and women in all ages. Many people told me it is my best perfume for cold weather so I do not want to change this because it is very nice.
So if someone is bored with PR1M, drop off for a few months, you’ll se changes.
Do not overspray it – two shots last solid 8 hours. If this is not enough for you, take a extra one shot after 6 hours, it works.
    Greetings, Martin.

Awful.Smells like cotton candy mixed with fruity pebbles. Loud, sickly sweet, synthetic.A huge commercial success due to innovative advertissements.Paco Rabanne have been becoming a great business man.
One million is patchouli bomb rather synthetic too sweet and powderdy to my nose. I understand its success among young people who want to feel rich and popular. But I don’t like it. Dissmissed!

Mixed feelings with this one so if you just read the beginning of my review you won’t get the solid opinion.
This is so fucking strong. There’s no problem with that. I got it for my brother in law after my husband and I both tried it. He sprayed once on his chest, I sprayed once earlier and separately on my arm. Five hours it was a beast with projection of 5-7ft. That’s one spray. It never faded in that time, it was loud, it was present, then it was gone. So, if you plan on buying this spray it in the air and walk through or let it fall onto you or you’re fucked. It made me cough throughout because it was so concentrated (again, that was absolutely my fault.)
I don’t believe in gendering fragrances, but I give them personality. This is a great night scent, again it’s super strong, super warm, and really spicy (cinnamon, SO MUCH). Because it’s a warm cinnamon bomb it vaguely reminds me of Maison Margiela By the Fireplace (hopefully in by the fireplace the cinnamon isn’t too prominent to you as much as the woods). 1 Million reminds me of christmas cookies and pine. Cinnamon is a major ingredient in christmas desserts but it’s not a ginger bread cookie, more like a big fluffy fresh from the oven sugar cookie with cinnamon sprinkled on top paired with pine. It screams christmas so it’s great for the holidays.
That said, it’s enjoyable and I can only see using it for holiday parties, the amber is so sticky sweet that it doesn’t come across as sexy, and it seems impossible to wear it in the day time.
It’s pleasant, but you have to be in a mood for it and for me that mood is rare and a two month window of the year.
edit: I have no idea who the hell is smelling juicy fruit and if there’s leather it’s buried in a sarcophagus of spices. additionally, if you think spicy /means/ fresh I guess you could call it that, it’s not sleepy, but when I think fresh I think crisp and day, this says neither. Maybe it last longer and at hour five I get nose blind to it?

It gets a lot of hate, but it smells good, and it works. It is a beautiful fragrance if not over applied. 2 sprays for most situations, 1 to the chest, and maybe 1 between both wrists, and rub the wrists to both sides of the neck, and you are good for at least 10 hours! 4 sprays maybe for a club, or outdoor event. This is one of the best working fall/winter fragrances period.

One of the things that pull me towards a scent other is its commonality, which is also a measure for the quality of the scent that made so many people walk around the earth wearing it.
In many ways this scent has become a victim of its own success. It’s that common that I never bothered with buying a second bottle.
Great scent, long lasting easily 8 + hours.

I was looking for a fall/winter scent for my husband because he is an Acqua di Gio aficionado and that just screams summer to me (plus I’m tired of it). I looked through reviews here and narrowed down my choices to about 8 and brought home scent sticks from Ulta. 1 Million was his favorite, so I picked up a Tester for him through fragrancenet.com He likes it a lot, but we were both surprised that it’s not as “Beast Mode” as we thought it would be. After a couple of hours, it’s gone. I wonder if it is because it was a Tester? In any case, he still really likes it–he just has to apply more often.

This was the scent that really got me into perfumes, and I bought it maybe 10 years ago before I ever looked up scents online, I just spayed it in the shop and liked it.
Years go by and I grew increasingly pretentious in my perfume choices and felt ashamed of my 1 Million. It wasnt enough anymore for it to smell good, it had to have a pedigree, a special gimmick, a long, dramatic backstory or some rare and unusual note. Thank god I’m out of that phase now and finding myself going back to old scents I thought I had `outgrown`. 1 million smells wonderful! Its a happy scent for a good time, like the male answer to Gucci Rush.
Not every moment of life needs to be filled with class, restraint, or subtlety. How boring would that be?

This is and forever will be one of my all time favourite scents.
I discovered it about 2 years ago from a friend who wore this all the time and ever since I got that first whiff of 1 Million from its enormous sillage, I fell in love with this fragrance.
    Smell: 9/10
All these reviews mentioning a ”bubblegum” vibe? I dont get this at all. this stuff just smells like super sexy, young, confident and masculine. I would imagine this is what the teenage Leonardo DiCaprio would smell like.
as for the notes, they are so well blended that I find it really difficult to point out specific notes, I get the rose as well as the Blood orange and mint in the opening.
to sum up what this smells like is as stated above. However I do get a nice fresh Rose scented fabric softener vibe going on
    Longevity: 10/10
(4 sprays) 24+ hours, I can even still smell it after a shower
    Projection/sillage 10/10
Possibly the strongest projecting designer cologne on the market. I can smell this on people easily 3-5 meters away
Who can wear this/who does this suit best?:
Teenagers or young men. I would advice against wearing this is you are 40+, but don’t let that stop you. wear what you like.
    Where to wear this:
    -Party’s
    -Clubs
-casual/school/work (no more than 4 sprays)
    Compliments: 10/10
you will definitely be noticed with this, I have received heaps of compliments on this at school, mainly by attractive girls to 😉
    Overall rating: 9/10
This is next to perfect, the performance, the smell its just great. The only worry is that this will be reformulated, which there is rumour of but no one is really sure yet. lets hope not.

First time I’ve owned this. Bought a 100ml 2017 bottle. Tested it it out and didn’t take to it at all so left it on the side like you do. Tried it again about 4 weeks later and BOOM. I get it now. Performance is very good. Its lasted over 12 hours with a good 4 or 5 sprays on the neck. I keep smelling that sweetness in it which is making my mouth water and this is over 12 hours later.
I did hear it has been reformulated but its working ok for me.

Nice but boring. Been here, smelled that. One of a million “fresh! but spicy!” men’s fragrances. I generally love wearing men’s fragrances but I’m full of regrets over this one.
Edit: Amazingly persistent! This stuff just lasts and lasts and lasts. Powered through Bvlgari’s Black that I’d layered over it… twice! I’m on my third application!

It’s a bit of mix feeling for me. Sometimes I feel like it smells nice, sweet and rich, but sometimes its so overpowering that 2 sprays application already bothers people 2 feet away from me. I got both compliments and people gagging to the smell of the perfume. It’s definitely a winter fragrance with a lot of sweet smelling spice notes. The thing that puts me off the most is how synthetic this fragrance smells.
