Description

Zeta is a floral composition based on sweet-scented linden blossom. The fragrance is a bright ode to Summer, created by Andy Tauer in 2011.

“It is builds on
the finest raw materials available
to a perfumer. Some of them are
hard to get, and may change
from harvest to harvest. The high
concentration of expensive
natural ingredients and the
elegant composition make this
fragrance a true collectible.”

The composition
opens with a bright chord of
lemon, bergamot and a
sweet orange. The heart notes include ylang-ylang, orange blossom absolute and steam distilled neroli, which join the vivid Linden blossom note and rose. Orris root, sandal from Mysore and gentle vanilla are in the base of the composition.

This is what it advertises — A nice full bodied floral that is modern and complex and beautiful. However, it is a kind of bland and soapy floral on my skin. I can tell this is perfect for someone else but it just isn’t my favorite floral on me.

A highly realistic linden blossom fragrance that is so lovely, so summery that it takes my breath away. Whenever I wear it, I feel like I’m transmitting a golden glow; it’s truly a radiant perfume. The floral melange keeps it on the feminine side of the spectrum, although any man who loves beautiful florals should give this a try. Silage is very big and longevity is +12 hours.

I really enjoyed my sample and would have considered this a perfect warm weather scent except he’s not making it anymore. I don’t think I’ve ever smelled linden so can’t speak to that part. It opens with a burst of citrus, sunny and slightly sweet and also very close to smelling like Pledge (I wish they would stop scenting household cleaning products ) but it’s actually quite pleasant and grew on me despite the association. It softens and eventually the gentle honey note comes through and makess for a warm, comforting drydown like a warm breeze on a hot day in the country. It is a simple and rather short-lived fragrance but really lovely while it lasts.

Wearing my sample of Zeta today and really love it. Just researching if this is still in production. ,,,,
Anyways I love the natural smell of linden trees and the taste of linden blossom tea , and this is exactly what ZETA smells like. It’s zested up with some orange and lime and warmed wit some sandalwood as well as vanilla ,,,and that is really all.
It’s a very realistic linden blossom fragrance.
I grew up in Germany and Austria where these trees are everywhere you look and my mom would make linden blossom tea all the time,,, this brings back comforting and good memories of being a carefree happy girl. Love it. !!!

Gorgeous honeyed, resinous linden. Had a decant in the past and looking to revisit this scent. Does anyone have a large decant of this?

I’m working my way through the discovery set and this is the last one I’ve tried. I absolutely love it and quite frankly adore 4 out of the 5 I have samples for. However I am definitely going to get a bottle of this one. I usually prefer full blown orientals but this one basically gives me a spray of happiness in a light and tender fashion. I know I love it as I have sniffed my arm repeatedly over two hours. It is a floral citrus burst up front and I’m not familiar with linden flowers but they smell divine in this interpretation. After a while this gives way to a divine sandalwood dry down which was unite unexpected but absolutely delicious. I actually think I would happily wear this all year round even though it really skews spring and summer but this would put a spring into your step on a cold winter day as well.

    Interesting fragrance!
Not knowing what linden flower smells like in nature, I’m at a bit of a disadvantage when it comes to analyzing how “linden” this is- my frame of reference is Tilleul by D’Orsay and French Lime Blossom by Jo Malone, both of which I adore-
I sense that linden flowers have a honey-like aroma- but while Tilleul and French Lime Blossom smell like light golden early summer wildflower honey, Zeta evokes a much darker, later season tupelo honey-
If Zeta was a tea, it would be Lapsang Souchong…

There is a very old linden tree in the park close to were I live. Right now, mid july, it is in full bloom. To walk by under it provokes every time a big smile on my face. It is so intoxicating, but friendly, sunny and warm. All gold and light and joy! Tauer has managed to capture this feeling in a bottle. Some might find the linden too tame and I agree that it is not “in your face” but the overall effect is very linden indeed. I love this one so much!

The next street over from where I live is lined up and down with linden trees, and, each year, I look forward to their blooming- for the air is permeated by the delicate blossoms, and it’s so nice to go walking near them! Zeta is linden accessorized- very elegantly I might add. As I sniff, I can’t help but call to mind the tree’s unique position in Slavic lore as a symbol of love: the snow is gone- this is the breath of spring!

Maybe Zeta has a synonymous relation to the word Zesty. The floral makes this feminine and the green adds a unisex vibe. This stuff is pretty strong and i can appreciate that because summer scents usually lack the “umph” in the power department. This could be a little challenging to wear especially if you’re a man and that’s because all the flower notes last the duration of the perfume. If you’re not spooked by floral notes(and this one is loaded with a little bit of everything), then give this one a try.

This was so heavy on me, and unscrubbable, which speaks for it’s longevity. Oily waxy flowers and powdery neroli started out ageless and lovely, but it dried to a thick impenitrable note that choked off the lush florals. Nasty in the end with my chemistry and I couldn’t get it off. Pass.

I love linden blossom in perfume, so I was very happy to try this out.
This opened with burst of linden blossom upon first apply, but almost instantly citrus notes arrived and this turned to a nose tickling and aromatic experience. This is surely not a floral fragrance on my skin, this is citrus for sure.
As it develops citrus still dominates the perfume and it does get a bit sharp. At the heart also rose appears and it gets kinda soapy.
What I do enjoy – linden here plays a perfect background role and is not actually “in” background, sounds funny I know, but I feel that way. Linden is noticeable, but not dominating the fragrance. It lingers time to time and shows itself to hide again. Where it does stay true all the time – background, it makes Zeta very warm and comforting.
All in all – this is hard to love as it is very unique, you can feel that the ingredients are the best quality, so it may tickle your nose as mine, because mostly people are not used to such ingredients. Worth a try definitely. As with most of perfumes by Tauer Perfumes – quality and longevity is the best you can hope for. Surely worth the price.

I had such high hopes for this scent as I am a great lover of Linden blossom. So I ordered myself a little sample and was eager to try it. Inhaled deeply… OMG, it was just plain awful, honestly, haven’t smelled such a terrible stuff since Venezia. It really did not work on my skin at all. The smell was very sour and stale, like a very concentrated diabetic urine and it lingers on and on and on. Well, guess at least I can’t complain about longevity of it! I honestly can not detect any linden blossom anywhere at all.
I keep reading all the reviews below and thinking that perhaps I smelled a completely different scent. How disappointing!
    Edit :
A year later I am trying a sample again and this time it is a different story. Now I can finally smell what everyone else was talking about before. I love love love it! How come it smelled so different before?!

A present. This scent smelled on me like one of my mother’s flowery hand creams. I liked it.

Before I begin talking about Zeta, I must say that I think Mr. Tauer is brilliant and I enjoy how he makes us think about reality in a different way through his scents. I see perfume as a true art form like composing music, not just an adornment. Whether a scent is wearable or not does not stop me from saying it is a work of art.
Zeta is a work of art and has been treated as such by its creator. The metal box that holds the bottle is lovely and well crafted, it reminds me somehow of the Arts and Crafts movement, making things beautiful and useful.
The bottle itself is gorgeous, a true bottle green that shines a linden green color in the light. The bottle is not the awful chartreuse shown in the pictures, but is much darker, with great sharp edges, catching the light as befits a work of art.
As for the juice, it is a true symphony of scent. In my opinion Andy Tauer is the Brahms of the fragrance world. When I sprayed this on the immediate impression is of sunlight and green trees blossoming and heartmelting beauty. The kind of beauty that makes your heart feel like it will thump right out of your chest.
I shall truly cherish this scent and I can tell this bottle will not last me long and I will need another. The beauty of this scent reminds me of so many happy times in my life, just being alive and outside in the spring. It especially makes me think of my time walking in the gardens of the Drottningholm palace in Sweden, “unter den linden,” smelling the wondrous scent of the lindens with every breeze, mixed with the sprinkling of water from the fountains and the fresh grass where so many people are lying, soaking up sunshine which is so precious to people who live in near total darkness in the winter.
As time goes by I smell a beautiful sandalwood and spicy vanilla emerge as the scent dries down, perfectly balancing the so fresh beginning and making it even more lovely by contrast. This is just what happens when you are walking in a garden or in a street lined with lindens. You begin smelling the green, citrusy scent and later you begin to smell the rich earth and dark woods that give these lovely trees life.
I am reminded of Keats’ poem, Ode on a Grecian Urn, where he wrote “A thing of beauty is a joy forever.” Such a simple phrase, but so true. Zeta is a composition of beauty and joy, a symphony of scent, a true work of art and a joy forever to those of us lucky enough to wear this stunning artform. I want to dive into the bottle at least once a day and stay there until I believe in beauty, goodness and hope again.

There are perfume houses that make a few good scents. Then there are houses like Tauer that make only good scents. This is beautiful, absolutely gorgeous! Brimming with life, the linden blossoms are spilling out from the spray( I remember how intoxicating these are during my travels in Germany). For those who don’t know linden blossoms, to me it smells almost like lemongrass. This is a citrusy scent, on par with Colonia but undoubtedly with far better longevity. Sillage for this fresh beauty remains close to the body for me. I get no rose or any sweet florals, just the natural sweetness paired with the slight tartness of neroli and bergamot. In the dry down it becomes slightly more woody but the essential citrus note remains untempered. Although rather expensive, I am still determine to get a full bottle of this natural, refreshing scent.

I know linden blossom fragrance, because I live in the near of lots of theses gorgeous trees. But no trace of linden odour in that perfume (fot my nose). It’s sweet, flowery, but i am decieved because i was looking forward to smell linden blossom (as the text presentation says)

My experiences are based on using up a full bottle of this uplifting beauty. I agree with the previous reviewers that this is the lightest, most radiant Tauer. However, do not be fooled to think that this is flat or lacks projection. Sandalwood and vanilla add depth and warmth and rose,ylang-ylang and orange blossom play supporting roles while gorgeous linden blossom plays the leading role from start to finish. I didn’t get any incense on my skin.
The opening is quite fresh, and the warmer aspects become more evident after the first 15 minutes. Still, the radiance remains from start to finish. Sillage is quite good (In general level, not comparable to Tauer sillage monsters). I could smell this on me 6h after application, got compliments from others 8h after application so longevity is rather good too. Excellent for warm weather! Zeta will also remind you of lovely summer days during the dark winter…hmm, I definitely need to replace this one.

When I was little, there were plenty of linden trees where we lived. That was ages ago, and recently when someone asked about a linden-inspired scent, I suddenly remembered about it. I cannot remember how the trees smelled, so I was happy to come across Zeta to perhaps remind me.
Well, the first sniff id not bring any childhood memories, but that of course is not something I would count as a negative side of the perfume.
It is a well blended, very green, floral scent. Probably one of those I call nature scents: a scent of fresh air, pollen, slightly humid air early in the morning. Starts of bright and very uplifting, gives a positive vibe. But, like a few other Tauer’s creations, ends up too sharp for me. Here we have all the citrus, ylang-ylang and sandalwood, and on me after a while Zeta starts smelling like one of those incense sticks that people in shops with Indian goods burn to give a mysterious atmosphere, so the overall result is a flowery, green scent with a strong oriental twist. Interesting, but like all Tauers, did not work for me.

When I think of Tauer perfumes, I generally think of dark, dense, ponderous, sometimes inscrutable perfumes of incredible intensity and depth. With this backdrop, I found myself taken aback somewhat by ZETA, which is about as affable and accessible as a perfume can get. I would describe the composition as a green citrus floral. There is a lot here in common with several perfumes inhabiting the same general olfactory neighborhood, including Bond no 9 EAU DE NEW YORK and Banana Republic W.
The linden and citrus and orange blossom mingle together to produce the effect, apparently intended by the perfumer, of light. It’s nice, but it does not have the wild quality and originality I usually associate with this house. ZETA is a very tame and friendly fragrance, which should be good news for those who find the perfumes of this house too intense, but it may be a disappointment to those who have fallen in love with some of the earlier masterpieces created by Andy Tauer.

I was very curious about this fragrance, as I am not a citrus fan, I included it in my sample pack to see if maybe this fragrance would appeal to me. But, sadly, no. It is really quite depressing in my opinion! I know that sounds silly, as how can a floral, with citrus come across as depressing! But that was the reaction I got. It has a oily, almost kerosine scent to my nose. I had in on for a few hours, hoping it would develop in to something fresher, but no. Even when I scrubbed it off, it still remained on my skin, faintly, but the scent sort of stayed at the back of my throat somehow. The description sounded so promising, but we should never be fooled by descriptions! I do advise to purchase the samples, and never blind buy these unusual fragrances. For those of you who love citrus scents, do get a sample, it may appeal, but I have to say I really found it unwearable.

Zeta, oh yes, very nice. Like Spring itself. This is an uplifting fragrance – non demanding, just cheerful.
Come to think of it, one could wear Zeta during the day, and then switch to LANCOME Poeme, for an evening out. Both have that honey quality in addition to linden.

Received my Discovery set from Tauer perfumes today. It only took a week to arrive, but I was counting the minutes (had a sample of L`Air du Desert Marocain and hoped for more wonders).
ZETA. Is Glorious. Radiant sun on a breezy spring day. Glowing greens of new foliage. Spring breezes alternately bringing the scent of heady white blooms, and the refreshment of Linden flowers. Makes me want to roll around in warm fragrant green grass, soaking up sunshine, brilliant blue skies, the rich smell of green flowering Earth. I don’t care about sillage, or longevity; I want a giant bottle of this joyous experience.
-on a side note, I am very impressed with the quality of attention Tauer perfumes pays to every detail from beginning to end.

I loved the perfume. One very unique aroma. But I will continue to search for the lasting power and the sillage that I look for in a perfume. I wondered if Mr. Tauer would make a more powerful version of Zara. I would order it immediatly in litters.

I’ve discovered the secret to appreciating Tauer: don’t stick your nose in it.
I brought out Zeta while having lunch with a fellow perfume friend. The vile accidentally tipped and spilled, so we rushed to dab our wrists in it. The result: two votes for an underwhelming, stinky fragrance.
But today I’m wearing it on my chest, sparingly. The added heat and humidity really make Zeta pop. Now I get the fresh linden, and a ‘yellow flower’ accord. (You don’t need to check the notes, you’ll know by smell that this is a ‘yellow green’ fragrance).
There is a lot of sunshine in Zeta, and it will truly transport you to a warm and happy place. I need to stress the ‘sparing’ aspect, because there is something here that amplifies with time, as if you stuck your nose too far into the flower and got it full of nectar.
Zeta is a must try for folks who love floral greens.

Bursts forth with greenness and lemon, and evolves a sweet powdery iris with a faint tropical fruit note. A very positive clean fragrance. Feminine without losing strength for a woman who appreciates beauty and being taken seriously. At the very end, the powderiness fades into exotic spices and an unexpected soft water-lily like note emerges. Intriguing.
    Respectable silage, longevity 2.5/5.

Another wonderful floral parfum from Andy Tauer. ZETA opens with rose and a bit of citrus before the lovely linden blossom appears with its honeyed softness. The “Tauerade” is at minimum, though I do smell a touch of vanilla in the dry down.
While like all Tauers ZETA has good longevity, it is on the softer side. Linden blossoms and citrus make it very sunny and the perfect scent for summer.

A touching scent. Rich, pure. Bright as the sun. An intangible smell, hard to catch, vibrant, like the air at sunset, that brings the beautiful and elusive aroma of linden blossom.

This is a truly gorgeous linden flower perfume, you spray it on and it is just a strong natural whiff of the finest flower oils that you could imagine! The radiant spakling freshnes of rose petals are melting with the orris oil, later on in the heart of the fragrance the seductive linden blossom should find a way into your heart too. For me it is truly the best perfume until now in 2011! Give it a try at least if you re a lover of floral perfumes (not the WHITE ones:)Nothing harsh or disturbing here, all components melt beautifully within each other. MORE of those florals Mr. Tauer…please
