Description

ZEN – Meditate in the wood

Settings: Deep in the bamboo forest, there is a Zen monastery. Surrounded by green and fresh notes of bamboo, and exotic, honeyed scents from the nearby linden trees and orange trees. Japanese incenses are burned during the rituals of meditation. Fumes of Kyara agarwood, white sandalwood and hinoki are released from the burning incenses.

This fragrance will first greet you with a green, fresh scent, reminding us of a green bamboo forest. Notes of fresh air and morning dew sublime from the opening, and then transform into a honeyed, crisp, and refreshing light floral notes of linden and orange blossoms. While you are enjoying the clear bouquets, a pungent, woody, smoky note of Japanese incense secretly tingles your olfactory nerves before it gradually unveils itself. The dry down showcases a complex woodiness of Japanese incense (a blend of Kyara oud, Mysore sandalwood and Japanese hinoki wood), adorned with a touch of warm musk. Calming and peaceful, this is a scent that celebrates the art of silence, chanting, and meditation.

Zen is available as 30ml extrait de parfum and 30ml eau de parfum Zen was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Eugene Au.

A misty bamboo forest, jade green as far as you can see. Moist new shoots amid towering giants, dew dripping on the moss strewn ground. Lush leafy scent from breaking tender new branches as you brush past.
Bright bamboo, fresh orange blossom with a ‘just cut’ smell that is dewy and natural. Light balancing accord keeps it from being too sweet, adding outside interest, but verdant bamboo sweetened by orange blossom is the pivotal motif. One of my favorite Auphorie fragrances, it’s beautiful!

It is very green and very zen–borderline boring (only because I like richer scents, and also because I was expecting more Japanese incense)…
