After a few more wearing, this is growing on me because of the uniqueness. Longevity/Sillage outstanding. Not an office scent.

Wore to work today, got noticed. Somebody commented, “It smells like lotion in here”. Not sure if that is good or bad…

Profumum Volo AZ 686 combines the sweetness of vanilla and coconut with the bright white floral gardenia. It’s refreshing, not with a caked or boozy vanilla but more of a light rendition that blends well with the floral elements. The use of coconut isn’t so heavy-handed that it distracts from the other elements. If anything, the coconut is the weakest of the triumvirate.
It reminds me a little bit of Battito d’Ali but less floral and sweeter, and so I prefer it a bit do Battito d’ALi since it agrees more with my enjoyment of sweet scents.
Feminine, sure, but not unwearable for most men, though that’s a matter of taste. I find that the harmony among the vanilla, coconut, and gardenia keeps it unisex, whereas a gardenia-dominant fragrance would be inherently feminine.
Definitely an underdiscussed member of the Profumum family, Volo AZ 686 is yet another entry that merits trying, if nothing else. I’m not sure it’s full bottle worthy for me, but I hope to obtain a split at some point to keep trying it out.

The smell disappeared in 40 minuntes unlike other superb smells from this brand like Acqua Viva or Tuberosa. I am truly disappointed with this one.

Initially it is quite strong but after 15-30 minutes a nice gardenia and vanilla fragrance projects, perfect for the summer months or any day in the tropics. The gardenia dominates my skin. I love the linear simple notes from this house, in this case gardenia, vanilla and coconut. And that’s it. I rate this an A- only because the initial spray is somewhat intense, be careful not to overspray but the drydown is wonderful. One of my faves from this house. Longevity and sillage is outstanding, you won’t be disappointed. Worth the extra $$ for quality.

Not sure what people means for urinal cake on this one but after smelling it up I can tell why it is a nono for most of the people. You can smell the coconut and vanilla but it’s so hidden behind.. a very weird opening, synthetic, almost chemical and not white floral to me. I agree to not wearing it if you want to be “appreciated”. Other perfumes such as Acqua e Zucchero do a much better job at recalling a flight back from (or towards) the caribbeans..

Scent – vanilla, gardenia & tart coconut.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night.
    Projection – I didn’t get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
    Longevity – I get 8hrs consistently.

This doesn’t smell to me like gasoline…I actually like the smell of gasoline. This smells like a tropically-themed, ammoniated cleaning product.
You know what cleaning products are good for? Scrubbing.

I had to stick up for this one! I think I love Profumum because they just push the boat out. They really do capture the light and love, the beauty and passion of Italy. They definitely decided to do the excitement of liftoff with the opening, and you know, I like it! Then there is a gorgeous lolly flavour, like musk candy and bubblegum teasing through…I’m guessing this is the urinal cake reference but hey, I’ve never smelt one! I also don’t use scented cleaners on principle because the stuff has ruined perfumery.
Now I’m getting a lovely pineapple with coconut and sweet white flowers, and yes, full bottle worthy.
    Edit one year later
Right ok I admit it, at extortionate expense I have imported to Australia a full bottle from a fabulous French online shop. This is a wonderful perfume that I reckon has a much greater proportion of real flower oils than any modern fume. If it’s not real ylang ylang oil giving all the negative reviewers conniptions I’d be surprised. Yep ylang is a bit stinky. It takes forever to dry down. Yes I know it’s not in the notes list. Yes you can get all sorts of grades of it. All of them are the flora universe’s version of deer musk. It is an extraordinary smell that must connect us all to our earth mother. It fugs up the open of this perfume like a petroleum oil slick. It’s extreme retro like Ysatis and Byzance boiled up in a stock pot. I can see why some gorgeous men I have met on the internet adore this thing. Use with caution, it’s a primal aphrodisiac.

sorry Profumum, but Volo AZ 686 is urinal cake/bathroom cleaning solution. yes, much later, a pineapple and coconut sweetness emerges, but the overwhelming bathroomy chemical cloud is too much for me.

Horrid on application, AZ 686 develops into something worse. There was a product made by Glade in the 1980s which one deposited into the toilet cistern to freshen the bathroom and colour the water. I believe it was pine -scented. AZ 686 made me remember it existed.

Just bought it…what can I say… Absolutely wonderful, a floral gem like no other! I know for many people it has two phases; well, I can only detect the paradise one! It actually brings me again to my summers by the sea when I was a carefree chid… but I can’t put my fingers on why!
I love powdery frags, and this is like a high end talcum powder: it has a sweet, cremy floral note in the opening (I can’t detect clearly the gardenia), and the it becomes better and better with time! For several hours, a coconut-vanillic and powdery scent stay on my skin… It lingers around me, I can smell it in every step I take. Natural, refined, cozy, longlasting…just perfect!

This is both a beauty and a beast wrapped up in one odd concoction. Right on application you get menthol, urinal cake, jet fuel smell which is ok to me because I like odd aromas but for the people that don’t rest assured this is not a linear fragrance. The more it dries down the more lovely and people friendly it becomes. 15 to 30 minutes later you get a white floral, coconut on a creamy vanilla base which I must say smells heavenly. Why would they make the opening harsh and the drydown so lovely? How the hell should I know. Monster projection. To the point of aggravation.

At first, there is a smell similar to petrol ….. sharp, almost caustic and a bit plasticky. A while later a scent of soft fresh vanilla occurs, with lots of hints of gardenia ….. maaaaarvelous, a must have!!! Want to add that the vanilla in this scent is not an inexpensive clinging sticky kind, instead it is a deep warm tone. The scent is fresh, soft and sensual …. an absolutely feminine fragrance which I adore, as well as everybody that comes my way!! Ps. have never felt it on a man …… but is certainly equally sensual …

An horrifying, hair raising mix of gardenia and coconut laying on a vanilla base. Cloying, overwhelming and firmly unpleasant. Excessively sweet plastic flowers with candied coconut.
“Volo AZ 686” in italian means “Alitalia Flight 686” and the name is supposed to recall, stating to the Profvmvm website, a flight to a tropical island (“images that blend with the scent from coconut palms and flowers of thousand colors, the swing of a hammock and a cocktail in my hand…the loudspeaker is calling the Volo Az 6862) but to me it’s more evoking of Alitalia in 2007 when the airline company was just about to go bankrupt…a total disaster.

I have big collection of fragrances but really nothing is like Volo. This is most marvelous floral fragrance ever made. The richest composition I know. Is it overpowering? YES. Doest it have big silage? YES. Is it long lasting? FOREVER!!! Gardenia, gardenia and more gardenias, just gardenia extract that is resinous because of the concentration. There is also a lot of vanilla – real vanilla, not a sweet cake like or cloying candy like which I personally hate. This is deep vanilla with coconut nuances. I spend my lovely vacation on the Turkish cost close to Izmir and during that time I was using Volo all the time. So I have very grate association with this fragrance. Volo is rich flowery nevertheless it is unisex. I’m male and I’m in love with this masterpiece. It reminds me good, lazy, happy and joyful time in my life.
