Description

Tom Ford had announced the release of his Signature Collection of fragrances by the end of 2011. This collection represents a part of his latest make – up line. Of the three expected perfumes, the first one is presented to the market in early September 2011. It is named Violet Blonde and it is based on powdery notes of violet and iris. Two other fragrances are Jasmin Rouge and Santal Blush.

Violet Blonde, glamorous and sophisticated, opens with violet leaf, Italian mandarin and pink pepper. The centerpiece of the composition consists of Tuscan iris absolute, Tuscan orris butter, Sambac jasmine and sampaquita. The base is home to elegant and sophisticated tones of musk, suede, cedar, vetiver and benzoin.

The alluring blonde Lara Stone was chosen to feature the campaign of the whole line. Violet Blonde is available as 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

In my opinion this is one of Tom Ford’s best. I rue the day he decided to discontinue this fragrance. I wish he’d bring it back, even if as part of the private blend collection. If he kept the same formula I’d be more than willing to pay the prices.
First of all this fragrance is a total chameleon on me. I get a different version of the story each time I open it up and spray. Sometimes it’s a powder puff irs & musk. Other times it’s light, dusty orris root and violets laying atop of cascading blankets of suede. Other times, like today, it chooses to become a resinous almost syrupy vanilla. I don’t understand what it is about this that makes it different to my nose every time I smell it, but I’m super excited every time I put it on to find out what it’s going to be that day. Regardless of the outcome, I’m always pleased and don’t regret that I applied it.
Longevity and sillage are good, but not the best of other Tom Fords that I hold as his standard. I get about 4-6 hours plus light to moderate sillage depending on how much I apply. But I’ve discovered I have perfume eating skin and that’s why I find myself often finding much to be desired in my mainstream designer house frags.
I’d say to get this while you can, but I want you to stop and leave it all to me so I can continue to horde bottles until Tom Ford reads my mind and has the sense to bring it back.

It’s been about a month since I first used Blonde Violet and my opinion is slowly changing.
My initial impression was not the most positive, on the first spray it smelled potent and overwhelmingly old lady, with fermenting fruit mixed with compact powder from the 1970s.
But as it dried down it developed into something quite different, subtle creamy powderiness. It’s not the carroty, dry powdery I was hoping for, but it’s nice. It’s more on the warm, oily powder side. The 70’s waxy makeup smell is still there in the drydown but it’s not competing as on the first spray.
I actually really like it on leather jackets and purses; it mixes with the leather smell quite nicely. For some reason it does not mix as well on my skin.
I would say if you don’t like Blonde Violet right away, it’s worth giving a second try and waiting for the drydown.

This fragrance is like a book with an ugly cover. The opening is very green and sharp, but if you’re patient enough or if you don’t dislike that that much, you’ll discover something amazing later on! I’m not a fan of green fragrances and this one surprised me so much, in a good way!

This could be the feminine version of Green Irish Tweed. They share two of the most important notes (iris & violet leaf) when so many male/female version fragrances share no major notes at all!
But wheras GIT is (to me unisex but to others skews masculine
I don’t know through which notes or chemicals,) but anyway it’s brighter and more energetic like a brisk stroll through the woods after a light morning rain, VB skews feminine with the sweet vanillic tones the benzoin pushes out, coupled with the powdery sweetness of orris root and iris. It is a very feminine scent, but a dark, sexy purple feeling, just like in the advertisement. This is more dusk, in the bedroom, waiting for the guy wearing GIT to get home so you can devour him. This isn’t a passive scent, this is a woman in totally control of her own sexuality. I get the faintest hints of the mandarin too, and it’s so nice. it feels like the perfect summer evening scent to me.
I recently obtained a 30ml (50ml bottle 3/5ths full) of this and was finally able to fix the nozzle today and sprayed a good 8-10 sprays all over my hands and wrists and oooh! Heaven! Why was it ever discontinued???
Also, I was fooled by the name, I thought this would be a violet scent but if we want to be literal, we should call this “Iris Blonde,” “Orris Blonde,” or “Purple Sex Goddess” or something. I suppose “Violet Blonde” sounds more catchy.

On description, I should have loved this fragrance. I adore violets and powdery scents. But NO. Sadly, this gave me the instant migraine. Another reviewer said that may be the benzoin’s, so perhaps that is it. It’s got that LouLou, L’insolence type of muskiness. I don’t like it at all and I tried and tried to love it.

I got intrigued by this one. I like iris and I enjoy violet in perfumes, but this one doesn’t work for me. It’s too green, violet leaf, rather than flower, and the cedar, well, cedar and suede are too prominent for me to like this. I’m not too keen on either of those notes.
But if you like cedar and suede in a scent you’ll like this. For me, it has a bit of an ‘old fashioned’ vibe to it, I find it rather strong and overpowering. I liked the smell of Black Orchid, but could never wear it for it being so cloying. I think the same of Violet Blonde.
I like the type of violet and iris in Insolence by Guerlain. If you like that one, I wouldn’t say that Violet Blonde is one you’d like too (it’s quite different). Obviously this has been discontinued now, which in many instances can add to it’s allure. I’d say it’s a very womanly, sophisticated, heavy, perfume, perfect for an evening out in cold weather. It’s just not for me!

I received a sample from a most generous member here and made the mistake of trying this inimitable, breath-taking fragrance.
NATURALLY, I love it so of course this has been inexplicably/STUPIDLY discontinued and is now somewhat hard to find.
Fortunately, I found an unbelievably-good deal online within 48 hours of falling in love and managed to get my grubby hands on 100ml.
The fragrance itself is stunning. Just gorgeous!!! Everything that I love about iris and violet and suede with sophistication off the charts due to the additions of the cedar and vetiver, heavily but elegantly sweetened by the benzoin. Pink-pepper is 100% non-existent in my bottle.
Nonetheless, I find this one absolutely signature-scent worthy. Maybe worth selling all other earthly possessions in favor of obtaining this instead.
    Fragrance: 10/10 WOW. Just WOW!!!!!
    Performance: 8/10. No complaints!
Value = that’s the only way in which this scent is a dud. Not that it’s not worth it because it is, but SHEESH what a price-tag!!!
My bottle is from batch A51, according to checkfresh it was manufactured in May 2011.
Ultimately I traded this unicorn for a backup of Lipstick On.

I was so lucky to find a bottle of this as it’s now discontinued. It’s a smooth, powdery, somewhat waxy suede that stays close to the skin and wears like a your skin, but better. It’s classy. The kind of thing I’d wear to the office in a white blouse and pencil dress. Perfect for year-round. If you can find yourself a bottle for a reasonable price, I’d recommend it.

As of September, I started making monthly perfume trays in order to get to know the perfumes I already own even better. This is on October’s tray, and now that the last days of October are coming to an end, I feel that I can give a pretty fair review on this. 🙂
This was high on my favorites list since I owned it, but don’t like to use it often since it is discontinued. This is a perfect “perfume” perfume, if you know what I mean. It doesn’t smell like fruit, food, patchouli…it’s not supposed to smell like anything in particular. Although Violet is in the name, it’s a powdery iris that is a predominant note. I still find that there’s something in this that smells a lot like violet. I used to think this perfume smelled JUST like those little packs of violet mints, but I am wrong. What radiates from the scent reminds me of those violet mints, but this is very much a sort of makeup scent that reminds me of an actress’s dressing room in the 50s (this sort of scent may not have been popular then, but that’s what it reminds me of). I find this to be super elegant and great for weddings, but also works as an errand-running perfume. I find that this smells best when it’s slightly wet outside, but low in humidity. I would buy this over and over and over again!

I had my mom buy this perfume for me for my birthday. I liked it because it reminded me of those old timey candies they have at mom n’ pop drug stores, C Howard’s Violets I think they’re called, in the silver and purple foil. This candy is very basically like eating this perfume. This takes me back to wandering the aisles of the drug stores that existed before CVS and Walgreens decimated small business. Violets candy and Love’s Baby Soft.

This is incredibly beautiful. I am actually astonished at how gorgeous it is. I blind bought it because I love violets and it sounded intriguing….a really good blind buy! I particularly love the opening, but the dry down is also very nice, kind of buttery and rich. I don’t find anything harsh here, just lovely violet and iris and lasts about 7 hours on me. If this kind of thing bothers you, though, I will say that my first time wearing two young girls said it smelled like an “old lady perfume”. While I hate that ridiculous phrase and find it insulting to women AND perfume, in this case I think it means this scent is incredibly sophisticated. This not sweet or redolent of berries. It’s sleek and smooth and astonishingly well-blended. I will happily be the “old lady” who wears this perfume….Tom Ford, once again, you rock!

    Красивые духи
This perfume is my perfume for my life! I wear her perfume since 2011. The notes in the Tom Ford website where I buy it say the notes are violet, violet leaf, Italian mandarin orange, pink pepper, Tuscan iris absolute, orris root, jasmine, suede, musk, cedar, vetiver benzoin. It is sexy and soft. Smell like lipstick, make-up and powder. The notes I like jasmine, violet, iris flower and musk. I fell in love with this perfume because I think it is perfume made for fashion models! When I first wear her I was model in Russia then in Europe and this perfume always make me feel so beautiful, elegant, rich. This perfume I can say is feminine, classy, and sophisticated. It’s color is deep purple. Smell like expensive purple leather handbag or walk in closet with expensive shoes where you also keep your make up. Try this perfume if you like perfume like Prada INFUSION D’IRIS and Penhaligon IRIS PRIMA. So beautiful. I will wear her until I am an old lady!

I tried this today, we were shopping in the city, and they had a nice sale on Violet Blonde., my husband wanted to buy it for me,.I didnt like it back then, and today, I almost bought it, but there is a harsh vibe in it..or I would say a classy vibe, this isnt a modern violet scent, but mind you, for a formal occasion, it might work! in the end, not my cup of tea, but it certainly has a formal appeal! my husband liked it, but he didnt love it! it does ressemble the Balenciaga Paris..
in the end the money was better spent in a fancy french restaurant!!

I love violet, iris and powdery scents, so I should love this… but I don’t. The benzoin is super strong, and makes Violet Blonde very heavy and overpowering. It feels like if you are wearing a winter coat in the middle of spring. It’s not a floating powdery fragrance, but dark purple flowers with a dash of deep powder. Well crafted, but not particularly memorable. Apart from the fact, that is not my style, for me it’s a strong dislike because it caused nausea and headache.

This is VERY harsh and loud at the outset, and I really hated it, but surprisingly, it did settle into something very soft and pretty. The problem was that on me, that part didn’t last very long – it faded into oblivion soon after I began liking it. This is a no for me.

  23. :

    5 out of 5

This is very sweet and dense. Its almost candy like. This is very similar to Balenciaga Paris by Balenciaga. The heavy violet note is the star accompanied by a fruity mandarin over a lovely benzoin and musk with bits of suede darting throughout. Sillage is moderate and longevity is decent.

opens like Si Lolita! pink pepper bergamot.
Also rather much reminds me of Alexander McQueen My Queen, but for some reason, I cannot add any perfume onto “this perfume reminds me of” section. Yet this is more complex, long lasting and interesting perfume.
for me, this is more of a night time one.
softens quite quickly to a middle phase of violet iris powder with a kick of spice and suede.
the jasmine comes along, creates that knicker note i recognise from Viv Westwood Boudoir. After the zingy zesty beginning, the jasmine’s arrival is weighing down the already quite weighty sweet violet orris powder. this stage is a little thick/heavy.
then it dries down and it smells lovely and quite sweet!
This to me is a vintage, powder, boudoir scent with a smidgen of woods and spice.
    It’s a raunchy (sassy) L’Apres L’Ondee.
and is right up my street.
I quite like being a violet blond.
    last a good 12 hours+

I really like this Tom Ford fragrance. Violet Blonde is different from my other fragrances and I might just purchase a bottle. Definitely getting the iris and suede notes. It’s feminine without being girly. Spicy in the most subtle way. Woodsy but lacks the typical green notes. Powdery without the sweetness. In fact, Violet Blonde is quite pungent in a good way. I love the suede. Benzoin gives just enough balmy sweetness. As with other Tom Ford fragrances, I would sample before making blind purchases. This is nothing like Black Orchid (which I think is horrid). But if this is your kind of scent you won’t be disappointed. Violet blonde was discontinued. However it can still be purchased online at a premium price. I don’t know if I love this enough to spend that much on it. If I find a good deal though, I will snag it up! This is one of those all-season fragrances. VB has so many unique notes combined in its formulation that it could be used any time of the year.

I recently wore this to a wedding and I was scared it would be a little overwhelming in the heat, but not at all. It was absolutely DELICIOUS. Not a bit cloying, but like a passing wave of violet. I used to get these violet mints that could be smelled through my purse and this reminds me of them so much. The leather and violet leaf are so beautiful. This is powdery, but not in a baby powder way. I think this is my favorite Tom Ford fragrance I’ve smelled so far. Tempted to make it my signature fragrance, but since it’s discontinued, I don’t want to use it too much. I got a great deal on a bid ($45) for a 1.7 oz bottle and am so glad I ended up getting it! 🙂

I like this but think it is indeed another oddball scent. It is elegant, damn sexy, and reminds me a lot of Boudoir by Westwood but very disarming and addictive too. It’s unusual but I find myself constantly smelling my wrist.
It is a very feminine smell, almost naughty in the same way as Westwood, though it feels drier and the violet is more pronounced. This is really nice.

I love Tom Ford, ever since he took over as head designer at Gucci in the mid 90’s. I have coveted almost every item from every collection of his. Sleek, stylish and glamorous with a big fat capital G his collections and ad campaigns show us a world where everybody is beautiful, long legged, slender, perfectly tanned and insanely sexy. I can’t think of any other designer who could manage to pull off the deep jewel toned velvet, silks, sequins and suedes without it looking cheap and or tacky or too 80’s. Black Orchid convinced me he could do no wrong and I even spray my teddy bear (actually Chewie from Star Wars) with it I love it so much. I was given a bottle of VB shortly after it was released and I sprayed Chewie with it fully prepared to be taken somewhere close to heaven. Jesus H Christ. I was expecting the violet fragrance but not quite so much of it all at the same time – VB is a heavy heavy scent and overpowered me eventually giving me a headache. I left it for a few days and tried it again on the weekend – all I can say is that VB + night out + hangover kicked my ass. I like the way it smells on other people but not myself and after my daughter said it smelled like “unicorn vomit” I happily gave the rest of the bottle to my sister in law who loves it. Maybe if I was blonde……….

I love powdery fragrances so I was shocked when I sprayed it on my wrist, smell it and my only feeling towards it was pure dislike
Iris, violet dominated scents mostly open on my skin very dusty but usually in seconds this dusty opening calms down to soft powders..violet usually makes this dust wet,but iris root and violet leaf turn to dry dust dust,so I was not shocked when violet blonde opened with dry,a bit green and woody dust..what shocked me was the dominant benzoin..I could detect most of the notes listed here, but there was a cloying sweetness wraping other notes and ruining the whole thing,I am a sweet scents fan but even me felt sick with this kind of dusty sweetness..I thought sadly this must be about my chemistry and decided to wash my hand(something rarely happens for me)
But my phone rang and I forgot to wash it,now after an hour there is a lovely musky powdery scent on my skin,I can detect my beloved suede and it’s woodsy undertine,I’m surprised again!I really like it!!
I think violet blonde is a kind of love/hate perfume, there is no in between,I am exception, because I hate the opening part,I love it’s dry down,so in whole I like it,I may use my 10 mil sample but I’m not going to buy it
Another feminine tom ford that I can’t use(white pathouli, black orchid and sahara noir are the others)but I respect and like as a peice of art

Fragrance Review For Violet Blonde Tom Ford
Top Notes Mandarin Orange Violet Leaves Pink Pepper
Middle Notes Jasmine Iris Orris Root
Base Notes Musk Benzoin Cedar Wood Suede Vetiver
A Grace Kelly blonde, not a Jane Mansfield blonde. This woman loves being a blonde but does not fit the stereotype of a “dumb blonde” or “slutty blonde”. She wears an elegant purple evening gown that ranges in the thousands not the hundreds. She is cultured, attends the Met Gala, loves the opera, the ballet, and Broadway musicals, is a fashionista but not a slave to fashion. She is her own woman with her own mind and is not outspoken but she has her own views and beliefs that are very much counter to popular opinion. And yes she is sexy and can attract only real men not boys. This is a luxurious expensive smelling unisex fragrance. With a name like Violet Blonde of course I was thinking this was going to be a floral with a big violet. The violet is there but it’s a soft violet and this is really more of an iris. The orris root and iris pairing in perfumery gives the scent a powder. This was only a bit like make up and powder cosmetic smell. It didn’t turn into the common “1980s make up bag” smell. It’s very subtle but detectable, a violet powder. It’s spicy too. Spiced up with vetiver and pepper, which makes it delicious. The suede and leather note is to die for. This has a vetiver and musk that make it a bit like a man’s cologne. It’s unisex for sure but if it was selling as a man’s cologne it would be one of those softer men’s colognes with a floral touch. Classy, sweet, and full of character. I’m a brunette but the only time I turn into a blonde is wearing this perfume and Blonde by Versace, and if I had to be a blonde I would not turn into Marilyn Monroe. I’m Grace Kelly.

Violet Blond is a scent that I feel is a like/love or hate it scent, remarkably this is one that both my mom and j can wear even though our tastes are vastly different. On me I smell a lot of the violet, more of the leaf- the greeniness blossoms on my skin. I also smell the suede/leatheriness early on and not so much in the base. I will also add that I don’t smell hardly any iris, which I’m disappointed about, but I still love this one. Test before buying though as the first time I tried it I was a little less if a fan, but it has grown on me. It smells like a lazy spring day laying in the sun on the grass where violets are growing.

    Confession of an addict..
Yes. The opening notes I get from this scent have catnip type effect on me…I have to make sure that I apply it in private and at least 10 minutes before I have to appear as a genuine human being.
That intense peppery violet twangs my nasal hairs, rolls my eyes back, pulls at my teeth…and I’m off! Chroming would describe it accurately 🙂
I just cant get enough of it. Thankfully these top notes soften to a musky iris for the remainder of the ride and I recover to a bed of gentle benzoin.
    L: Moderate
    S: Moderate
Currently on the wagon….though….its been long enough I think 😉

Violet Blonde is a blonde who has a secret she’s kept very well hidden: she’s really a brunette! She has dark roots that will never show. However her personality suits a classy, refined, mature, intellectual, elegant, sophisticated, urbane and cosmopolitan brunette who has been all around the world and can speak French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Russian, Hindi and Swahili. This is a fragrance for a woman who has been around the world and has absorbed the best of every culture and experiences. It’s an adventurous blonde who wears high end fashions. This is something I could smell on Nicole Kidman. Violet Blonde starts off true to it’s moniker with a violet scent. It’s violets and violet leaves. A fresh mandarin is also there from the start. A touch of pink pepper gives it some spice but I would not call this fragrance a spicy one. It’s mostly floral. The iris flower dominates the heart which is also layered in jasmine. The fragrance lasts a long time so if you have to wear this make sure that you spray before your day begins and you can smell of it until you get home again at the end of the day. The first time I wore this I was enthralled. It’s such a beautiful, classy fragrance that can pass for a Chanel. It’s also similar to Hermes Rue Faubourg. There’s a touch of vetiver, woodsy notes and suede at the end that give it that depth and that feeling of luxury. This was a gift from an old boyfriend and I’m telling you this stuff is magic. Guys love it on girls. He loved it on me and I was very grateful and showed him my appreciation. I don’t even know where he got it and he refused to tell me. You can now buy it on Fragrance X or Beauty Spin for prices ranging from over 90 to 100 dollars. Not bad, and ought to be more expensive because it smells like a million bucks.

I love this. It opens with cannabis, yes really, incense, tobacco, and is a heady dream like habanita or bandit.
It quickly fades down to a sweet musky dream.
The flowers bloom over a short time, gently wrapped in a musk breeze.
It is exotic, the violets blending so well with the musk that I really wouldn’t call this a floral overall, despite the name.
This is a very sexy blonde girl, she didn’t shower for a few days and doesn’t care.

Oh hello Allure Chanel-once you get to the drydown.
The opening ,for me, was too sharp and I immediately thought,”Yet another I needn’t have bothered with.” Wrong! Fast forward a couple of hours and I am sniffing my wrists over and over. The drydown of TF Violet Blonde gives me warmth, luxurious powder, sweetness and glamour while sitting oh-so-deliciously close to my skin.
I should have known TF would find a way to pull this off.

I tried it couple of times, and decided not to buy.
Overall, that’s a nice leathery scent, but doesn’t hold (even on the clothes) and weak.
The violet note evaporated quickly, unfortunately.
It doesn’t scream like VelvetBlack Orchid do.
If you want a violet perfume, try Skin by Trussardi, -it has an amazing violet note, and lasts longer.
Edit: I gave in to my greediness and bought it. I just spray it on the clothes, because my skin eats it so quickly.

I’ve been lusting after Violet Blonde for months but haven’t committed because I either love or hate most violet dominant compositions. I finally gave in and bought it.
I got it today and was prepared for many possible outcomes except this one…it smells like Feerie? Van Cleef and Arpels Feerie which I had but sold because I don’t like the way it smells on me. Weird.
The fragrance is cool and powdery with a bit of tang in there from the citrus (although it remains a background sour/tang so don’t be deterred by me mentioning it if you don’t like sour notes). It doesn’t get as woody or heavy as Tom’s other concoctions and on the right person it would be a fantastic skin type scent.

September 2015′ blind buy off eBay, sprayed on arm straight away when opened, which was when I was cleaning the house. The pungent stank acrid scent wafted so badly, I had to wash it off. I thought, great, wasted heaps on a fake.
Yesterday, after coming out of the shower I had used radox mint and lime shower gel. I gave violet blonde a soft spray on my arm…and wow. Blown away at the sophisticated levels it presented. Strong acrid again, yet soon mellowed to a delicious waft, to which I have never smelt before…
perhaps elements of Gucci rush mixed with Ysl yvress ? Is how it settled on my skin.
Perhaps the lime and mint shower gel prepped skin for its true notes to shine. No actual violets were detected. It is a confident scent for a confident lady.

Objectively, I do like this, though it is mostly powder on my skin. Longevity and sillage are great. That said, there’s something about this fragrance that makes it one of my least-used. I adore the synthetic futuristic White Patchouli for days when I’m channeling a bit of an edge. But there is never quite an occasion where I feel like I *have* to smell like Violet Blonde. It’s not dark or mysterious enough for me to feel sexy wearing it, yet it’s too striking to be an everyday scent. A genuine puzzle.

This turns quite quickly masculine on me, not least because of a background note that I can only describe as ‘man sweat’. Initially I thought it was like a tiny dash of ‘stairwell urine’.
Whatever it is, this unique little surprise revealed itself within the first hour and quickly became the dominant expression/perception on me. Yikes.
Putting that aside as best I can, I’d say that otherwise VB is somewhat Chanelesque in character. It has some classy overtones, though overall is quite a run-of-the-mill department store fragrance. Nothing especially desirable, at least not on me.

Ok. Another beloved TF that I just don’t “get”. Violet Blond eventually becomes a very nice, soft, feminine, pretty skin scent. But definitely not an ooo la la for me. The opening for me is less than pleasant. Sort of barnyard and armpits. I get that with some suedes and spices. As I’m about to give up on this coveted juice I get a pleasing gentle sweetness. A smoothness that I can’t attribute to any particular notes. It continues to evolve into a throw-back to old glamour makeup perfume type of scent to me. It doesn’t project much but is quite long lasting, it’s nice. Just not my style. I will try it again in cooler weather before it hits the swap board.

Dear God in heaven this is the best fragrance in my entire collection. I just got a small bottle of it and I am completely and utterly in love. Unfortunately my bottle leaked in the mail so when the package came into the house I could smell it immediately and thought what is that amazing scent? I think the mailman might have gone home to his wife like a horn dog after handling that package. I would say my nose is fairly experienced at this point and the quality and consistency of this perfume is unbelievable. How can I describe it other then it goes out sweet without that nauseatingly cheap gourmandness. And after the period of settling it has a residual sexual aroma that is just the most exotic and hot scent I have ever come across. I honestly would be willing to part with about 75% of my collection to have a surplus of this. I would rate it a 11 on a scale of 1-10. Most sexy female scent out there!

@SoheePark And I’m fed up with people who are so self centered they can’t even imagine skin different than theirs. Even though it’s on people who aren’t them. Also – psst, your comment is a tad condescending. Might wanna work on that. We’re not complete idiots.
I can’t wait to try this, it looks promising. And nobody is gonna tell me it’s too sexy for me to wear because I’m not 35…I really don’t understand the ‘this is too sexy for a young girl, definitely for mature women’ logic. I didn’t realize sexiness grew with age…if I wanna feel Tom Ford sexy, then I will! Rant over. 😛

This is without a doubt a beautiful elegant perfume, it reminds me of a lighter version of Guerlain Insolence which I have and love. The Guerlain is a power house, insolent indeed whereas this one is light, classy and doesn’t scream “look at me”.I have just started testing Tom ford’s range and I’m really liking them. This has a suede/leather note to it that I don’t get from Insolence and I quite like it.My only criticism is the longevity on this one but other than that you have converted me Mr Ford.

I really wanted to like this, because Violet is my favourite note and I love most perfumes by TF, but unfortunately, although this is a very pretty fragrance, it lasts no longer than about an hour on me , which is such a shame because I wanted so much to love it… its far too expensive to drop that amount of money for so little time

    This perfume is insanely beautiful.
It’s so gentle and smooth, romantic even. With a tad of melancholy. Smells like love lost on a summer night.
It reminds me of something but I’m not sure what exactly; probably something my mother used to have years ago. It’s not a revolutionary smell at all, nothing surprising but that doesn’t make it any less divine.
    Another treasure found.

In the beginning , I thought I hated it.. It screamed at me… I thought woooooooooooaah, how heavy..too intense… too violetish. My darling fragrantica pals, give it 20 minutes, not more. I now cannot stop smelling myself. You get Violet, Jasmin, suede , all so beautifully blended.A true masterpiece that cannot be worn by a “plain Jane” type of lady..Well done Tom Ford.! What a beauty!<
