Description

In late July 2016, Versace launches Dylan Blue, a new fragrance from the Versace Pour Homme collection under the license of Euroitalia, which includes the original from 2008 and the Oud Noir edition from 2013.

Its aromatic, woody – fougere composition with fresh aquatic notes, Calabrian bergamot, grapefruit and fig leaves at the top, develops with a heart of violet leaf, papyrus wood, organic patchouli, black pepper and ambrox. Mineral musks, tonka bean, incense and saffron wrap the composition up and give it a fougere vibe.

The advertising campaign, which was shot by Bruce Weber, includes models Gigi Hadid, Trevor Signorino, Alan Jouban, Louis Solywoda and Filip Sjunnesson, as well as martial arts athletes Nic Thompson, Travis Conover, Adam von Rothfelder, Lukasz Grabowski and Levi Morgan.

The bottle with clean lines comes in dark, Mediterranean blue with a golden cap and a golden Medusa seal. The fragrance is available as a 30, 50, 100 and 200 ml ml Eau de Toilette with an additional after shave lotion, deodorant and bath & shower gel.

It doesn’t smell like bleu de chanel, not even close to being reminded of it. Neither is Versace Pour Homme and Allure HS. I dont get how people mix two totally different fragrances up. However I do see how some people think of ADG profumo, its the incense patchouli accord.
If I can describe this fragrance it would be Clean synthetic lavender coupled with soft floral incense. Resinous and clean at the end. Like you just mopped the floor with lavender and lit a nag champa stick. Its very nice, reminds me of Gentleman Only without the pink pepper. Great for any occasion but heres the kicker:
Its affordable and lasts super long, 14+ hours on my skin, I hope it never stops being produced.

Versace have a reputation of being quite gaudy and overdone, this reputation shining through to their perfumes as well. However, Versace Dylan Blue, in my opinion, is a subdued, very enjoyable citrus fragrance.
    In my opinon 8/10

Very good fragrance for Sauvage alternative choice. Open with pepper like Sauvage with the sweet scene from Versace vibe. Also, very good longevity.
Unfortunately, I am not a fan of the pepper opening and this sweet scene (I am not fan of Sauvage too). But I think, many men and women will like it.

The best fragrance by Versace maybe ever. Very long lasting. 12+ easily just with 3 sprays. 2 sprays are about 10. 1 sprays 8 hours.

Driven by curiosity, I went to try it.
Opening very similar to chanel bleu. Immediately afterwards the ambroxan is presented along with the aquatic notes: It is at this stage that I was about to throw up in perfumery. Would this be similar to Sauvage? not even remotely!
P.s. Very similar to Aqva Atlantiqve by Bvlgari and guess…I don’t like it too!

After having worn it a few times this fall, I have to add that this could definitely be a polarizing fragrance. If you spray too much it does actually STINK, in an animalic 80s sort of way (specifically, I went into an ice cream store while wearing Dylan Blue this weekend, and two people came in afterwards and said it smells like piss and like Penn Station in here), lurking throughout all the fresh shower-gel aromatics. In that regard it’s the archetypal powerhouse fougere and I think it’s cool that a designer house is selling a fragrance like this nowadays, and for relatively cheap too.
    Stink on.

bought a bottle after bashing it for a while it grew on me.
Wanting to stress how this doesnt smell like Sauvage it does have a lot of Ambroxan in it for sure but this isn’t a Lavender based scent. With this you are getting a Ambroxan + Incense / Ressin Bomb, so it’s spicy and airy with a lot of musk and almost no citrus really here. (The semi-Citrus note + Ambroxan is really the only time I get a Sauvage vibe, after 10 min that fades and this becomes something else)
It’s a crowd pleaser for sure though similar to the other Bleu/Fresh and clean fragrances that have been bombarding the market over the past few years.
I like this, it’s not complex and tbh this is so simple it makes Sauvage seem complex imo.
This is a less cloying blue (within reason, you don’t need much, i only use 3 sprays) and it also gives off a bit of a sexy vibe with how much incense shines in this with that Ambroxan note, to me, well it smells kind of sexy sweaty scent.
I don’t really get shower gel from this tbh, not much citrus here, not much floral, there are a little trace amounts of some of those things but it’s negligible imo.
    Good Performance though
    Great Price
You would think because this is so much cheaper than the other Clean scents that this would be something you smell often but nope not really, it’s half the price of things like Sauvage but I can smell at least 5 ppl at my job wearing Sauvage, I wear this for cheaper and it’s like i’m the only one wearing it, weird.
I know ppl like to toss every Ambroxan based scent into “Smells like Sauvage” but it really isn’t similar to Sauvage outside of using Ambroxan and being a stellar performing fragrance. (This sometimes smells like a Dryer-Sheet to me early on first 2-3 hrs)
It’s blindbuy worthy imo if you are looking for a every day scent / fire and forget and something that is versatile.
I will say this does kinda smell like a Used Car Salesman to me at times, kinda has that vibe going for it sometimes.
SO TLDR: It’s Ambroxan / Musk + Incense , you will get that Incense pretty much entirely through the life of this scent. “Women love how i Sweat” type of scent but I wouldn’t call it “Clean” tbh, it’s a primal sort of scent imo.

I really liked the opening. Within minutes it settles into that shower gel scent so I had to get rid of it. If you enjoy that shower gel vine you will enjoy this

I have a lady friend who adores all of my fragrances. One weekend I wore Pure XS and then the next day Eros. She liked them both well enough, but when I pulled out Dylan Blue and gave her the bottle to smell, her reaction to it was very shall I say carnal. She requested I wear it the next time we get together.

    Very good scent, decent performance.
For me this is 99% =Ck in2u which i adore, but ck in2u has water like performance, this however is tad better. Safe blindbuy and affordable.
For me This doesn’t smell at all like bleu de chanel, bleu de chanel has more of a punch when you smell it. Same applies for dior sauvage.I’m smelling this right now, and all i can think of is ck in2u.

    Second review here
After some further testing and time, I have really cemented that this is my prefered fragrance out of the Dior Sauvage, prada luna rossa rossa carbon, and Bvlgari Atlantic bunch.
I get a beautiful, full, clean fragrance. It has so much more complexity and fullness with patchouli and papyrus.
Yes there is still some shower gel vibe early into the fragrance and it is not a unique smell, but is a lady killer and can stand up to a little cold. I loved wearing this in the early fall.
6 to 7 hours longevity, good to great sillage, fair projection .

I smelled this first time at mumbai airport duty free when i was travelling to dubai 5 months ago So i decided to buy this in dubai but it was very expensive in dubai around 420 AED 100 ml. But when i am back to mumbai past week so i ordered this from splash fragrance online and recieved 3 days ago. I wore this yesterday and the performance is very well its suitable for mumbai weather and sillage is good too. I got 3 complements on my first wear in college girls like it alot they asked me what fragrance is this.in india people usually dont complements but I got luckily.this is my favorite scent opening is very fresh and little bit fruity and aqautic then aft few mins it turns to smokey inscence fragrance and people likes it too overall good scent.

i actually change my review on this because originally i hated this because ppl kept saying oh it smells like sauvage so i expected sauvage when i smelled it and then i finally smelled it and it wasn’t sauvage like to me at all and i was like wtf?!
this has a good amount of ambroxan so i get why folks compare it to sauvage but here’s i would describe dylan blue; it’s a very fresh fabric softener type of scent; like a very clean febreeze sort of scent.
it’s really a great fragrance and i wish i would’ve gotten it a lil sooner tbh

The base of Blue De Chanel is what this scent quickly becomes after the first 10-15 minutes. I really enjoy the incense in this in the mid and it stays through the lengthy mid notes for about 2 hours. After about 3 hours the lavender comes out along with musk and stays throughout.
All of the above is on my skin. I also get amazing longevity. This is an 8am to 5pm scent, and my true Swiss Army knife as it works great even in the toughest winters (continental US that is). I have a 200ml bottle and a 3.4ml bottle and it is my signature scent, this checks off all the boxes for me and is of excellent value compared to its competition.
Edit – in my first weekend casual wear, I got 3 compliments. I never get complements.

  15. :

I see why people say this is a mix between Sauvage and Acqua di Gio Profumo. I do not see the similarities with Bleu de Chanel at all. I also do not agree with people claiming this to be the teenage version of Sauvage. It smells more mature to me, because of the dark patchouli in the drydown.
Even though it resembles Sauvage in smell, it fails to meet the performance. However, since this is more of an evening/night time scent, spraying this on in the evening and lasting till you go to bed, is quite alright in my opinion.
Scent: 7.75/10 (I like Sauvage a little bit better)
Projection: 8/10 (Projects for a good 2-2.5 hours)
    Sillage: 8/10
    Longevity: 8/10 (8h+)
Versatility 9/10 (All season, but lacks performance for the dead of winter)
    Uniqueness: 6/10 (80% Sauvage + 20% AdG Profumo)
    Price-performance: 10/10 (Got 200ml for €60,-)
    Total: 8.5
Quick advice: If you want performance and do not care about money, go for Sauvage. If you care about money and a little bit less about performance, go for Dylan Blue.

My first time wearing this today.
At first I thought I’d made a mistake buying it but once it settled down after 15 minutes, I remembered the scent I fell for when I tried it on at the store.
I’m still new to the serious fragrance scene but so far I’m impressed with the Versace range.

It will be called absolute/extremely blue.
Keep nose out for late 2018/early 2019.

    @wodzocelot
Try Acqua Essenziale Blu. I was blown away. It is a mix between Dylan Blue Opening and BdC. But that opening stays more or less through all frag life and is MUUUUCH more refined than Dylan Blue. Not piercing, scratchy, unfinished and rough but very smooth and pleasant.

    Embodiment of the word ”safe”.
I think that was the first word That came to mind when I smelled this two years ago. It smelled good, but not magnificent nor interesting to me at the time.
Not until now I am gravitating towards this. I am thirsting for fresher blue frags in the wake of all these powdery thick dark fruity cocktails that are put out today.
I think its smells very blue/marine. A reincarnation of Polo Sport for the 10’s.
Behind the 80 % blue shower gel is some detectable violet and green too. The violet leaf adds some mystery.
I don’t find this one citrusy nor peppery in character but they’re noticable if you look for them.
I is somewhat ”harsh” because of a solid wall of ambroxan and spice that makes it hard, rough and undoubtedly masculine.

I really wanted to like this fragrance as i love Versace pour homme.. However unfortunately, the smell is very chemical, strange heavy sweetness combined with shower gel smell.. If this fragrance was an axe everyone would say that it’s rubbish, chemical bomb ecc.. And now they say that is king of compliments.. I cannot see how this could be a king of compliments, even if we suggest that the smell is so nice (which is not) this thing lasts hardly for an hour.. Listen people if you want a king of compliments go buy Valentino uomo intense that lasts for 10 hours with heavy projection.. Otherwise if you want a spring summer fragrance go buy a nice uplifting summer fragrance like vph or adg for example.. And finally if you want Dior sauvage go buy Dior sauvage, it’s that simple

  24. :

This smells very good. As every one says its similar to Bleu De Chanel, Sauvage or Bvlgari Atlantique.
Most people didn’t mention Salvatore Ferragamo Aqua Essenziale Blu.
Dylan Blue is slightly better than Chanel, Sauvage or Bvlgaris version. I would buy it before those.
Here’s where the KING comes in though, Salvatore Ferragamo Acqua Essenziale Blu is the winner. I bought Ferragamo in the end.

I’m very familiar with both BdC and Sauvage and I have owned both. This one is in that same vein, but I prefer it to both of the others. Plus I like the fact that it is less popular than the other two.

    Just my own opinion:
Is it unique or groundbreaking? No
    Is it generic? Yes
    Does it smell great? Yes
    Does it get compiments? Yes
Is it safe for office? Yes (Just be considerate on how many sprays.)
    Daytime use? Yes
    Night time use? Yes
    Summer? Yes
    Winter? Yes
    Date Fragrance? Yes
    Good Sillage? Yes
    Good Longevity? Yes
Smells identical to Sauvage or BDC? No (But, I would consider them cousins)
Buy? Yes (I have Sauvage and BDC and I can still find an occasion to use this)

  27. :

Smells like a darker Dior Sauvage. Bergamot, grapefruit, aquatic notes, ambroxan, incense, and patchouli are most prominent. Like how Versace Eros is a great young man’s scent for the winter, this would be Versace Eros but for the summer. It smells generic yes, but good. I personally like it more than Sauvage although Sauvage is a good scent. I see this fragrance leaning more towards evening wear for a night out because of the darker incense and patchouli but it’s still very wearable anytime of day. Very fresh, clean, mass appealing, shower type of scent. But I really enjoy it. Performs pretty well. I was wearing it once, stepped out of my car for about 15 minutes and when I got back in, got a big whiff of this. Out of all the modern designer colognes that aim to be mass appealing ambroxan bombs, this would be my choice.

  28. :

    4 out of 5

@cursive123 – To the average girl/guy, Dylan blue would smell quite similar to Sauvage / BdC and garners the same amount of compliments (if not more) as its competitors.

  29. :

    5 out of 5

I agree with Blueslippers below me; this is better than Sauvage. Cleaner and more pleasing scent. But the drydown smells EXACTLY like Sauvage! The sillage and longevity are also the same as Sauvage.

I just bought the fragrance now, in my opinion is a very good one , projection about 2 hours and logevity 8 hours, i think it works fine on night and day also but more on night.
It’s so manly, definetly smells like BDC.
    Worth 50 euro per 100ml bottle .
    one of my favorites

    This was a blind buy.
$35 for a 1.7oz wasn’t the worst deal. Apparently the ladies love it.
    I sprayed it on a card and I wasn’t too impressed. Its a blue, sweet-resinous, citrus-spicy frag.
It was too creamy for me at first. Very off in the smell. I like the idea around it, but I cant get over the creamy-resinous smell, which is the ambroxan.
HOWEVER, my perspective changed when I read someones review that said that this is Dior Sauvage + Bleu De Chanel.
I have to say, this is very similar to Dior Sauvage mixed with Bleu De Chanel….I can totally see it.
I do like it, but I dont love it yet. My wife says she, “Really likes it!”

  33. :

Wore it yesterday night at work one guy could smell me from 6ft away, another lady came and smelt my jersey and said my perfume smells nice, later on I went in some lady’s office where she recognized it immediately as I left a trail, in the morning when we knocked off the lady who had said my perfume smells nice asked for the name of the perfume and asked to have a look at it and so I gave her the Dylan Blue which was in my bag and she just sprayed it on herself again saying it smells so nice.
Versace Dylan Blue is A Projection Monster
    Lady’s Appreciate Versace Dylan Blue
Sauvage EDP didn’t get me the reaction I got from Dylan Blue although I dig the Sauvage EDP
I’ll keep Dylan Blue in my little collection for sure.

  34. :

I’ve also been wracking my brain, trying to get my thoughts around this fragrance. I’ve realized now that Alberto Morillas basically juxtaposed the sweet grapefruit and cardamom accord from the opening of D&G The One over a modern, updated barbershop fougere base. This realization made it occur to me why there appears to be a generational gap when it comes to enjoyment of this fragrance.
For example: people who used Brut, Old Spice, Aqua Velva, Pinaud, etc are usually happy to find offerings like Azzaro PH, Paco Rabanne PH, and Rive Gauche, which approximate the familiar scents of shaving with a much higher ingredient quality thus lasting much longer. It’s the same thing with Dylan Blue. My generation just used different grooming products than those before us. Thus, I’m happy to find that the metallic, fruity Axe showergel effect can now actually last all day with 2-3 sprays of Dylan Blue.
Morillas was smart to add the notes of patchouli and incense, which ground this otherwise juvenile showergel scent into something much more timeless. The patchouli adds a vivid frothy green minty element into the mix which pervades even through the grapefruit opening, and the incense adds some smokiness to the overly salty, almost magazine paper smelling ambroxan accord.
So if you wanted to know why people (almost inexplicably) like Dylan Blue, that’s why.

I think it’s my third review on this masterpiece. I have a lot niche pricey fragrances but this one has special place in my heart. When I wear it Not whole Rome, whole the house smells me . Such a great dry down. Kinda dusty, earthy Stoney feeling… I really like dry down of this. Is it Compliment getter ??? master degree!!! Can you imagine it gets compliments same as creed aventus and Amouage reflection man for me! And I like it more in the colder times … sure to be honest it’s not a complex scent and it’s not wow!!! But there’s something in this juice that I don’t know what is it or I cannot explain!!! What it is , gets compliment!! Let’s say magic juice till I find true answer. At last I have to say Dylan Blue taught me a good lesson! Not only expensive fragrances are good!

Sexiness in a bottle, and a great alternative to BDC & Savuage. 10/10

  37. :

    3 out of 5

Why so much comparison with that stinky , synthetic, overrated bug spray sauvage…? sauvage is sweet and heavy, Dylan is fresh aromatic and 10 times better frag, and longevity/ projection are great.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

I have Versace Dylan Blue, Dior Sauvage EDP, and BDC Parfum.
Out of all of them this clearly has the most “shower gel” type of vibe (followed by Sauvage), and it is the most youthful to me.
I actually prefer the other 2 over Dylan Blue, but as far as overall quality per price, this is the best deal hands down. If you are on a budget go with this one.
This would make a great gift for a young guy just graduating high school and starting college.

  39. :

I bought this cologne along with Versace Eros during a promo. I thought it didn’t smell great because I sniffed it on a piece of paper but when it was sprayed on my skin, I fell in love with it instantly. I love the grapefruit scent, perfect for the tropical summer where I live. The sillage and projection was moderate and the longevity can last up to 8 hours.

  40. :

    3 out of 5

Great performance, good price, pleasant scent. It grows on you over time.
I must say, this is my most complimented fragrance, despite being one of my least expensive. I’ve experienced no controversy over this one – blind buy safe.

  41. :

sauvage over Dylan blue lol are you crazy
sauvage is way more generic, synthetic, headache-inducing,
I could never wear that ,too embarrassing

  42. :

    5 out of 5

Tried a few samples. It’s a generic, synthetic, headache-inducing cologne for me. I will not bear this pain to get the same compliments that I can have with Sauvage, frankly. But if it works for you, go ahead.

  43. :

Harsh and synthetic opening, but beautiful drydown! Projection and sillage are better than Bleu de Chanel EDP, at half price of Chanel. Absolutely worth byuing.

    Monster compliments with this one.
    My summer night time fragrance.
Can’t go wrong with Dylan Blue.

  45. :

    4 out of 5

@robertsayamyan07 yes I’d say it’s the tonka, which keeps the ambroxan sweet and well rounded. The drydown is firm but not offensive at all. The spice, incense and patchuli are also kept sweet with the tonka.
I’m wearing it now and after 9 hours, I just received my third compliment today on the scent. Hours 1 through 8 is heavenly. First hour is quite loud, like a mix of Savage and it’s ambroxan and BDC but more intense.
The drydown on this is similar to BDC right after application. Love the performance and compliments on this! The ambroxan gives this such a nice scent that you known people will love, and they do! Fresh and bold.
Lovely scent. 9/10 which is big for me, as I am picky. Very impressed.

@D34thlord thanks that was very informative … Ya am from North East kohima India and don’t have big mall or shopperstop and have no choice but do online..I will definitely check the perfumery.co.in… Also sow a good review about people on perfumecrush online..

  47. :

@rewajr You have more chances of winning the lottery than getting an original bottle from online sellers in India.Never buy perfumes from Amazon/Flipkart/Myntra. If you order an iPhone X and get a vim bar instead, you can easily return it back and get the refund. They will even give you freebies if you embarrass them about the faulty delivery on twitter or facebook. They have to maintain their reputation after all. But the online websites have strict no return policy when it comes to perfumes. As soon as you open the perfume bottle, they are not liable to take it back. They will simply claim that it was the seller’s fault and they are not responsible. Why do you think amazon sells Creed Aventus at a price of 10000 INR when the original cost is around 30k? Connect the dots 🙂 No wonder, all the perfumes listed on Amazon and Flipkart ranging from Chanel to Armani to Calvin Klein are never rated more than 2.5 or 3 stars. You can read the comments on any perfume product and everyone will aver that their product is watered down or fake. And the worst part is, we buyers can’t do anything about it other than writing reviews.
Always buy your fragrances straight from the exclusive store( lifestyle, shopper’s stop,Sephora,Parcos etc) or even a mall. If you are from a tier 3 city or a small town and can’t access any Big mall then you don’t really have a choice other than to buy online. I would suggest you to check out perfumery.co.in . They deliver genuine products and would give 2 times the original price to you if the product turns out to be fake.It might be costlier by Rs 500-800 but trust me, the investment will be worth it.

I absolutely loved this fragrance. Drydown is has very small similarity to Eros’s drydown. Both are so good. Can someone tell me from where does the sweetness come from? is it from tonka bean or ambroxan?

  49. :

    5 out of 5

The opening is harsh and very strong, but dries down beautifully. It smells great after 1 to 2 hours but just don’t get too close at the first hour of spraying.
It is great for summer and spring.
Scent – 8.5/10 (just because of the great drydown)
    Longevity – 9/10 (excellent)
    Siliage – 9/10 (excellent)
    Value – 9/10
Overall – 8/10 (I would give it a solid 9 if the opening wasn’t too harsh).

I really don’t get people find this long lasting and projection .. I bought on june 2018 from myntra shopping online india, everything look original cover, cap, bottle and the note as it was describe.. but to my surprise don’t even project 5 min and stick as skin scent.. I didn’t believe my eyes after paying so many bucks so tried on my bro and my dad skin, result they were complaining how designer perfume can performed like that.. I didn’t know someone help me if it was fake or some fucking reformulated version (but didn’t heard about this one ).

I was unsure what to make of it at first, but I think I like it more now. Been reaching for it often now as it’s been raining a lot. I think Dylan Blue works well in warm weather but not when it’s too hot that you’re sweating. I found it cloying like that.
It works great when it diffuses slowly from the warmth of your own body.
If Versace made a perfume for men of this generation, this is a good one. To me it’s a little floral and aquatic with some fresh modern barbershop feel to it. It’s strangely synthetic, but it is a very polished synthetic.
I won’t wear it everyday. It is a tad young and casual, but sophisticated. Like a millennial who is rugged and inexperienced, but domineering and savvy.

  53. :

    4 out of 5

    Masculine. Sexy. Fresh. Subtile
Indeed, quite similar to BVLGARI Aqua Atlantique, although Versace Dylan Blue is a sweeter version of Atlantique. Atlantique it has powerful aquatic / marine / salty accents on top of that. Versace DB opens up fruity but overly sweet, truthfully I can’t stand the smell of the initial blast… Thank God it’s freshly in the dry-down due to grapefruit note, it is not as sweet as the opening, BIG LIKE. In my opinion Versace DB in the dry-down it’s a closer call to Bleu de Chanel.

Excellent fragrance. It’s in my summer rotation right now. The hotter I get at work it seems the more it punches. I get compliments left and right. People always ask what it is that I’m wearing. It’s an absolute winner in my arsenal, sure it smells similar to Sauvage and Bulgari Avqa Atlantique, which are amazing in their own right, but ol’ Dylan Blue is a fighter too and it can dish out sexyness with the best of them and win. I love it.

I don’t know why but I have yet to be impressed by Versace I guess because I have yet to smell anything by them that doesn’t feel like a bore. I’s alright but it’s generic and bleeehhh…..this brand just seems to have the same pattern regarding their perfume lines just smelling …mundane.

Well…I allways have been a lover of strange, divisive perfumes. I love to discover their hidden values. However, this time I decided to purchase a crowd pleaser stuff (to garner some conpliments, just for fun). Its good to have one, thats it. I had more ideas (i.e.: Prada Amber and L’Homme, CH Chic, Armaf Club de nuit Intense, Chanel Allure, and so on), but I decided to have this. Have I regret? No. Definitely. Lot of people say, that it’s not ground breaking, well, of course…..that’s what a crowd pleaser is not. However this thing has a very pleasant, fresh, but also sweet smell, which can be worn in every situation I think (maybe the formal, black suit events are excluded). Not that sharp like Sauvage, or the original Versace Pour Homme, which hasn’t got ANY depth. This thing has. I’ve just received it today, but my first impresson is good. Yes, not a “to die for”, but if it turns some girls’ head, it’s fine for me…after all it is summer 😀 😀
(After a few days: longevity is pretty fine, it lasts long on my skin, but I think the projection is only average, it become a skin scent in 1-2 hours (it is more than enough for the summer though). The scent is amazing, but I haven’t got any compliment yet…. I’ll see whether it deserves its reputation.
Update: after 2 month not a single compliment…there’s an issue here…maybe with me… maybe this scent is overhyped. 🙂

Good stuff. It’s not groundbreaking or “great”, but it’s a solid frag. I would recommend it. It’s very versatile and I think it would be safe to wear just about anywhere with very few exceptions.

I have over 120 bottles and Dylan Blue is still going strong in the top 10. It’s not getting out of the tops anytime soon.
I have BDC. But im not so much that guy. I smelled Sauvage a few times. This isnt me either. Bvglari Atlantique is nice but I prefer their others Aqva line (check my review of Aqva Amara!)… So let’s pass on all of these for the moment.
Im a Dylan Blue guy. If you’re with me, then we’re friends. If you’re not, then I will ring at your doorbell and ask you if you have time to discuss about Dylan Blue.
Why you say? For me, it’s all about the patchouli and incense. Of course, there’s a good dose of ambroxan and bergamot to make it soooo likeable (Ambroxan is like a cheat code in a video game), but I gotta say, everytime I put this on, I get a screechy vibe that I love, I get a rush from that incense and patchouli. Incense is one of my favorite note. Of course, that helps to digest that blue monster.
People will call it synthetic (but it’s affordable at least). To me, it’s synthetic-godmode then. I know, im getting crazy with Dylan Blue. I have to defend it because my nose tells me to do so. I have smelled so many fragrances, im not totally dumb, there’s something about Dylan Blue you have to consider over all comparaisons.
Generic, yeah. Safe, yeah. Everything you might say about this fragrance is true. But so are my words.
Girls like it. They love it. I would go as far as saying, they don’t care much if it’s generic or not, it’s just so good on the skin.
Also, this is a good one for projection and longevity. I carry a small 30ml with me and I rarely need to reapply during a day at work.
I dont like to compare fragrances to other fragrances so I wont. But you already know what it smells like a little bit. To me however, this is completly unique and I could guess it anytime to other fragrances it compares with.
To me, this is simply the master of blue scents. Everytime I wear this, it seems ladies have a reaction. And believe me, I dont get compliments that much.
Dylan Blue will make you feel younger, or too old for it. It’s your choice really. Im 39 and I still feel legit pulling that scent. I shamelessly overspray sometimes just for my own pleasure but be careful, I wouldnt call it a beast but it’s a powerful one and it leaves a trail behind you. You could be tagged as the cologne guy if you over apply.
For many guys, it will be the scent they dont like much but seems to get the girls. For me, it was love at first sight and if a girl dislike it, well, she dislikes me because that fragrance is my own, it has become part of my identity.
Like I said earlier, it’s has a screeching vibe to it. This is the best way I can describe it. I dont know how to explain, it makes my teeth grinds a little bit. In a positive way if thats even possible.
You know you love a scent when everytime you go to your collection, you have to open the cap of a particular bottle. Everytime. I close my eyes and wonder: Am I the only one who think that is total genius?
Maybe I still have a beginner nose. Or maybe I have girl tastes (I repeat, they like it). However, im not getting tired soon of that incense and patchouli. I will admit the Ambroxan does a good job too to make it round and whole. Ambroxan, though, is like cheating at a video games like I said. It makes things easy but without honor. The heavy dose of ambroxan here has to be accepted as it is. This is a very mainstream scent. It is made to be enjoyed by as much people as possible. And I fall into that category. A heavenly fall every damn time.
    Thanks for reading my review!

I’m going to have to be honest here. Everyone says this is a “safe” scent, but I really have to disagree. I rarely (basically never) have physical reactions to a perfume, but this one smelled so chemical and strong that it actually made me nauseous and gave me a massive headache. It was also very sweet, which was really weird combined with the fresh, citrusy notes, just a total clash and I couldn’t stand it. It reminded me of walking past the boys locker
