Testing the original, pure parfum 1925 formula. Oh my word. The first note is unmistakable civet, proper stuff, followed by narcissus and rose then the woody notes. This vintage at this strength is always an eye opener. All the things we’ve lost in perfume! I love civet, and only Shalimar and a few niches come close to the proper skank underpinning this age of scent. It’s not for everyone and tastes have changed. But the ingredients used in the vintage parfum are still potent, still a brilliant composition. The fruity lighter notes have gone but no loss to me, if you’re lucky enough to get a sample or find a bottle, then treasure it.

As the second fragrance in the Love Poem collection by Worth, I find this one particullary interesting and very tied to the previewsone, Dans la nuit. It is a true delight to bring this fragrance closer to the nose while slowly taking the Dans la nuit further. In this way, one can almost feel the enormous image of a sunrise around the hills.
I feel like the imagery of this fragrance is a cold sunrise in an orchard with dew. From the night in luxurios Gardens, Vers le jour brings you in a country side morning, with notes of sweet, dried hay and weeds.
Other than discribing the notes as fruity and light, I cannot quite tell them apart as this fragrance is a whle experience. I feel like it smells like cold, morning sunshine. As top notes I notice cucumber and hyacinth, leaving place to a heart of peony, roses and summer fruits. The bottom note is barely there, with hints of wet wood and musk.

This opens beautifully. Fresh and glorious, so fruity and floral, and it is no surprise looking at those delicious middle notes. Smells much more expensive than it is. It does fade quickly, which is the down side of something inexpensive. It would need a few top up sprays during the day.

This is….nice. Nothing outstanding, nothing offensive, just nice. I find the musk dominates, not in a bad way, but its not at all complex and on me smells simply of generic simple musk body spray. Its very light and subtle, just not particularly striking.

    VERS LE JOUR by WORTH
This delightful vintage is gorgeous on my skin! Very opulent fruity floral with prominent mid-weight musk. Dominant peachy osmanthus with melons and pineapples well blended with intense herby angelica. Cedar/Sandalwood base is noticeable and anchors with elegance but not overwhelmingly woody. Narcissus/jasmine/cyclamen is sensual and bolsters the naturally sweet carnality of the floral mix. Peony adds brightness and joyful freshness. Very regal complex scent that gives a feeling of radiance and celebratory sensuality, sunshine, and feminine joy! Full bottle worthy for me!
