I have to agree with Rewbacca’s review – this smells very synthetic to me, nothing like natural vanilla or blackberry. Really smells more like a cheap body/room spray.

This kinda reminds me of siting outside next to our iris flowers eating toast with blackberry jam in the mornings with my mom and sister 🙂 good memories! The vanilla is a hard to detect at first but joins breakfast after awhile 😉

Oh… I’m torn. It opens very strong, jammy, and sour, like blackberry sangria or sour fruit jam. You can smell the green, leafy, woodsy aspects running through. I understand exactly what another poster says when they mention an olive note, even the poster who said fermentation. It’s a hint powdery-musky – I take it that’s the iris, but it doesn’t remind me anything of the powdery-floral iris of Shalimar. There is a very, very short period of time after that when it smells FANTASTIC, like blackberry muffins, but it barely has any sillage. I read these reviews before purchasing and was hoping it’d smell like rich red wine that dried down to fruit pie, but on me as soon as it finally passes through that sour green stage, the scent is nearly gone.

This is my perfect Valentine’s Day scent. On me, it opens with the iris and subtle vanilla, and then the mature sweetness develops and lasts. It’s not a cloying sweet at all, more like a classy, fresh, clean, and lightly sweetened jam. It is not a particularly youthful sweetness; it holds its own on this 40 year old.

Strong on the blackberry scent. Not as creamy as I would have imagined. A very fruity berry scent. Smells like berry gum or something of that nature. Would use a bit in the winter. Not a favorite, but is all right. Would not buy an individual, but this came in a set. Longevity at 2 hours on me, sillage moderate while it lasts. Will try out the others. Happy smelling! 🙂

While I do like this fragrance, I agree that the style of this perfume is different from the other offerings from this line. Most Lavanila fragrances are a rich, cozy, sweet interpretation of vanilla. Vanilla Blackberry is cool, fresh, and almost aquatic to me. It’s comparable to Mure et Musc by L`Artisan Parfumeur.

I have a pure Vanilla scent in a rollerball by LAVANILA. I like that so I thought I would this. I
love Blackberry and I love Vanilla, but this is really gross!
It doesn’t smell of Blackberry or Vanilla or Raspberry it smells like synthetic Blackberry and a nasty iris note that just seems SO Nasty! Like this fragrance went bad or something worse!
I now know to check every note here on Fragrantica, for sure before buying ANYTHING ELSE in any price range fragrance sight unseen and not smelled before! The Iris kills it, and the blackberry smells so artificial that I am going to be taking this off my skin!

I like this vanilla scent. The vanilla is warm and deep, and the blackberry gives it a nice cool tone. Different enough from the usual vanillas with spicy or floral notes, even the sweeter fruity ones, to warrant a spot on the vanity. People are intrigued by the blackberry… “What IS that smell?”.. in a good way.
Offers very little longevity and no silage, for me. Skin scent that needs to be applied several times a day- good thing I have it in roller-ball.

Delicious, natural, jammy, slightly boozy. It’s one of my all time favorites and a great fruity scent for winter.

I don’t know HOW…but there is a distinct ‘olive’ type smell to this perfume. I think its the Iris my skin seems to have an issue with it. I really wish I got the ‘jammy’ blackberry note some have gotten, but I mostly get vanilla and that weird olive type note.

I adore vanilla and fruity scents but this makes a horrible perfume to me. It smells like an extremely concentrated batch of potpourri. It is very strong and I quickly get a headache from the smell when it is on my body. I actually use it as a room spray now–I add a few drops to a spray bottle mixed with water.

Ughh. I usually like fruity and I usually like vanilla. This perfume was not only “nothing special”, but it also had a really synthetic smell to it. It was more of a “fake blackberry scent” than anything else. Kind of like cheap warm up incense from WalMart.

I didn’t like it when I first smelled it in the sample bottle, seemed sour but when I put it on i loved the smell of it on my skin.

This fragrance has received a fair amount of battering from other members, and I can’t quite understand why. One would assume that Vanilla Blackberry is an easy crowd-pleaser, especially seeing that it features a sweet, jam-like blackberry accord mixed with creamy vanilla.
I like it, and I’m not usually one to enjoy fruity florals. It’s strong, but not overpowering. The fruity top notes are indeed juicy, but I find this quality very appealing on my skin. Perhaps many are attempting to wear Vanilla Blackberry during Summer, feeling the somewhat cloying effect of the fruits and vanilla. In actual fact, Vanilla Blackberry is best suited to Winter and Autumn.
Vanilla Blackberry is not a unique scent, it smells like many other fruity scents on the market. But with that being said, I find it to be the perfect mix of sweet vanilla and tart fruits. Beyonce Heat comes close to this fragrance in terms of comparison.
I like LaVanila Laboratories’ simple yet effective method of blending vanilla with an array of different notes, mainly various fruits. I have enjoyed every single one so far. I hope they keep it up, and more importantly, I would love to see their brand reach our Australian shores.
Vanilla Blackberry lasted a good while on my skin and impressed me greatly. I hope more people latch on to this fruity delight. Blackberry fans should really give it a whirl, I’m sure you’ll like it.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so turned off by a perfume. I shouldn’t even call this a perfume… To be blunt, it stinks. I can’t even be eloquent about it. It just smells nasty, kind of like fermenting fruit. What a disgusting combination of notes. It is sour and sharp; the scent smacks you in the face with obnoxious abandon.
There really isn’t much to say about Vanilla Blackberry. Except never wear it, ever.

Let’s try is again, it won’t save my review…..I liked this in store but with a take home sample that I wore to bed and the next day I found it smelled to much like incense so I no longer like it but I am willing to give it another try.

I like this, although I don’t think it’s the strongest offering from the Lavanila line. The vanilla is wispy and soft, and I would describe the blackberry note as light, airy and musky, rather than juicy. The blackberry also gives off a slight “wine” undercurrent, which I like here. Overall, this is a lightly sweet, fruity, close to the skin scent. I found several of Lavanila’s other fragrances to be exceptional…this one doesn’t stand out for me in comparison. Of all the Lavanila fragrances I’ve tested, this one was also the most lacking in staying power.
