Description

The fashion house of Valentino launches its new fragrance named Valentina in mid-September 2011. The fragrance, inspired by Rome and Italian flavors, is developed in collaboration with Puig and perfumers Alberto Morillas and Olivier Cresp.

The composition is designed as a fresh floral – fruity – oriental, full of contradictions, simultaneously delicate and strong, elegant, sensual, rebellious and fun.

It starts off with bergamot from Calabria and white truffles from Alba. Amalfi orange blossoms, sweet jasmine, tuberose and wild strawberries compose the perfume’s heart, settling on the base of cedar, vanilla and amber.

The face of the advertising campaign is model Freja Beha Erichsen, shot by David Sims. Valentina is available as 30, 50 and 80 ml EDP with additional body lotion, body oil, shower gel and deodorant.

I had a real problem with Valentina because of those adverts where people are running around looking for our missing heroine, ‘Valentina! Valentina!’She has somehow slipped out the gates and is living the grand life snogging men in taxis and partying. Why do these people looking for her care? Who are they to keep her indoors anyway? Is she a princess? A werewolf? What? Added to which, the bottle lacks a little oomph, pretty but just not me. However…
Ended up with a tester yesterday, and was really surprised! I haven’t really had much experience with a predominant strawberry note that isn’t candy sweet. Valentina does this very well. The buzz of white flowers and a generic ‘Nice department store perfume’ smell kicks in after about an hour and a half, but while the strawberry tuberose is there, it’s quite nice. My husband liked it, which was a surprise, as he’s not usually a floral-fruity fan. This is marketed as a young woman’s fragrance, but it is grown up enough to wear for the evening. Perhaps being a Princess Werewolf has its good points!

Just started a bottle with the new packaging (single flower rather than the original triple flowers) and I believe it’s the same formula!
Incredibly relieved as this is one of my all time favorite perfumes.
Classy, earthy, youthful, timeless, sexy, and utterly delicious; Valentina is effortless beauty.
Love this for all seasons, day and night.

This is an absolutely classy, ladylike perfume, sweet but not cloying, fruity but not young, and what surprised me is that the very last phase of the drydown (we’re talking 5-6 hours after applicatiom), it ends up faintly reminiscent of Narciso Rodriguez for her EDP. Beautiful!

Just a heads up! They seem to have changed the bottle. It’s just one white flower on it now. Looks a lot like the Acqua Floreale. Is it the exact same perfume as before though? If you know, please tell 🙂

Purchased blindly last year, the truffle had invaded my nose and set it aside. Today I gave him a chance about 17 ° and … WOW sweet, enveloping, chypre … today no earth or creamy strawberries … Too bad the duration really limited

This is one of my last purchases. I got from my friend valentino valentina bodylotion and i liked it so much that i wanted to buy parfume to pair with it. This is special sophisticated, normally i dont like intense vanilla but in this parfume its perfection and balanced. I think this is for special for date or special occasion. I love the bottle though!

One of my favorites. Valentina is a pleasing feminine floral backed with delicate strawberries, warm amber, and faint pepper.
It is powerful at first but very quickly softens. It is classy, calm, maybe a little coy. Most people would find it very pleasant and inoffensive. It’s a pretty every day scent for spring/summer.
The bottle is a little work of art. Love.

Somehow I expected more from this perfume. I thought that behind the beautiful name and the gentle bottle there will be a unique perfume, something different and memorising.I didn’t find such a thing. Too ordinary for me.

I have this perfume for 1 year and I rarely use it, I do not like it. But today I was in a mood for experiments and I sprayed. I felt it very well the first 2 hours, then totally disappeared and I was very angry. But outside, as I walked, it was light rain and it became damp. Here I am in autumn, about 14 degrees Celsius. Suddenly this perfume broke out, I felt it very distinctly and pleasantly. Like a soft fruit glaze for a cake.

When I sprayed this in the air, I loved it. But on my skin it turned out to be a little odd..I don’t know what it is, it’s not bad but it’s not good either…This was a blindbuy, I would not have bought it if it wasn’t for that. This perfume has a bit of a 90’s vibe, if that makes sense 🙂 Like, it reminds me of perfumes that I smelled a lot when I was a child 🙂 I was hoping for a stronger scent of strawberries and vanilla, on my skin it’s powdery and soapy. In my opinion this is a mature scent.

Exactly oriental-floral scent… Jasmine, tuberose and hint of tuber in the middle.. vanilla? hmmm, somewhere very far. Strawberries.. What strawberries??? Actually good, floral fragrance, unpretentious and tasteful. Nothing outstanding, but keeps good to the last sniff … Sweet notes I can smell only from the bottle, on my cold skin just flowers. Imho-No way for teenagers, although it reminds Juicy Couture somehow. Resume- better I would buy Valentina Blush
UPDATE: Perfect fragrance for crunchy winter!!!

I got a sample to me Its a half oriental
Its a delicate velvety creamy sweet strawberry cupcake but not in a gourmand way
and soft powdery notes pink romantic
yet warm earthy and sensual I think Its girly with a bit of vintage
The bottle describes the scent perfect rebellious and fun is not what comes to mi mind when i smell this it does is a bit bold but more romantic sensual vintage pastel but also dark at the same time
I recommend it if you like something delicate and sensual Its different than all those sweet citrus scents fruit scents and cloying gourmands

Very nice! The vanilla is what makes this fragrance work. In combination with the other notes. So hard to find a good floral vanilla fragrance where the vanilla isn’t masked by florals.

  16. :

    3 out of 5

I like this. It’s a gorgeous creamy vanilla and white floral with a slight sharpness from the strawberry. But… as a brand’s flagship fragrance it is on the ordinary side and more importantly performs badly being a skin scent (on me at least) within 30 minutes. At its price point it is not very good value for money but it is so charming I would like a bottle none the less.

  17. :

Valentina is a soft, powdery floral on my skin. I can understand its appeal being so very pretty and delicate, however I wish it were a little stronger, hence the reason why I can’t wait to test the intense version.
To my nose Valentina smells like an elegant talcum powder, very smooth and dusty on the skin. There are no stand-out floral accords, just a pleasant and alluring blend of orange blossom, jasmine, tuberose, vanilla and amber.
The strawberry note is short-lived in the top and heart notes, however it adds a somewhat sweet and flirty aspect to this fragrance which I rather enjoy.
Valentina may not be super unique, nor is it a stand-out, head-turning fragrance, but it is very pretty and easy to wear. Although the longevity is superb I wish this EDP had bigger projection as I desperately want the people around me to smell what I smell emanating from my wrists.
This fragrance has many positive attributes and it’s a shame that I didn’t get my hands on a bottle sooner. Here’s hoping that the Intense flanker rocks my socks off.

    Another Notino sample:
Goes on like a big, plump, strawberry, with a little washing up liquid (detergent) smell.
Then, shortly afterwards, a slightly creamy smell joins them.
Like if you were washing up bowls, after they had strawberries and cream in them.
Then the detergent smell recedes somewhat and you are left with strawberries and cream.
Didn’t get any bergamot, or tuber, at first.
The “cream” may be coming from the tuberose?
If so, that is nice and actually, quite a clever use of the natural creaminess of tuberose.
Or the whole thing may just be chemicals…
So far, very wearable and pleasant.
Not exactly challenging; but, nice enough.
Perhaps just a tad too artificial, though?
What would be nice for a lipgloss flavour, is perhaps not necessarily what we should be aspiring to wear in a fragrance?
I will give this a like, though, as it’s pretty and fun.
Will update if the drydown is, in any way, surprising.
But, somehow, doubt it will be!
Update: Drydown is nice, actually – orange, strawberry, tuberose and vanilla.
    Sweet but not too sweet.

    A true classic.
Delicate, elegant, classy, tender. Soft and powdery vanilla with lots of florals. Light and sweet, suitable for everyday wear and during the hot summer days, when you still feel like wearing florals.
Safe, but not boring. Familiar, yet different.
And lovely bottle to go with the nice juice inside.

Valentina – I am a lover of the Valentino’s Valentina line. I finally added this one to my collection and I am extremely pleased. I have owned Valentina Assoluto for a while now but it is too dense to wear during the summer. This Valentina is a sheer version of the Assoulto with a lovely strawberry note, very delicious, a bit sweet but not sugary. The most enjoyable aspect the two share is the blend of tuber with the bergamot, as you can tell I am in love with the opening, its fresh and earthy at the same time. I also like that this one skips on the patchouli.
Valentina is not a sillage monster by any means but I think that is its intention. Overall its a sweet, floral, clean spring/summer scent that doesn’t delve into tropical territory.

It’s a shame this gorgeous scent simply does not last… even with 5+ sprays. 🙁 It’s truly unfortunate, the delicate but intriguing notes of tuber, jasmine, tuberose, and a hint of delicious strawberry fade out rather quickly on me. If you don’t mind spraying this one every 3 hours or so, then give it a sniff.. but, as stated by others, I expected more from Valentino as a brand. I probably won’t be repurchasing. This was my favorite scent when I was 19. <3

  22. :

The scent itself, I really like. It’s smooth, if that makes sense. Slightly cool, with whiffs of light powder, vanilla, some white flower and the barest hint of strawberry. Not spectacular but very wearable and pretty. Not every perfume has to be artwork, sometimes I just want to smell good. 🙂
The problem is longevity, at least on me. It becomes a VERY close skin scent after less than an hour. That seems kind of short for the cost and the house.

  23. :

    5 out of 5

I took him with great expectations. I imagined a stylish, classy, clean aroma, not so cute. I am disappointed longevity and sillage. for the price – quality is not satisfactory. I like bottle and base notes. beginning is sticky, in the heart does not feel white flowers and sweet tartness of strawberry, and more flavor to cakes. not my flavor. maybe for ladies lovers of sweet fragrances 🙂

That sensation when You noticed that the sprayer just broke in your purse is “sublime”. 🙂 Bottle is ok, little cheap if U ask me, the smell, well for a dark perfumes lover like me, this is as good as not worth the money. But again, not my type which easily means for others it may as well be the signature scent. Once again, watch out on that sprayer, it breaks easily!

  25. :

Bought this one mainly for its Jasmine notes, however the dry down on me leaves a warm vanilla smell which is one smell I do not like. I therefore have a like/dislike relationship with this.
I have moments of appreciating the complexity of this fragrance, and times I feel its just too sweet for me. I have to be in a specific mood to put this on.
It does last and I can always smell this on my clothes after wearing this days later.
A good fragrance for an evening out or a date, I wouldn’t personally wear this to the office as its just a tad too commanding.

I finally bought this perfume and I love it! The packaging is very girly, sophisticated and nicely done (the flowers are very cute and made out of some sort of thin tin). To me this fragrance is sweet and soft. Its the kind of sweet that is sophisticated and elegant and won’t offend anyone. It also has great staying power. About four hours ago I sprayed some on my wrist and after cooking (garlic and onions), cleaning kitchen, bathing my baby and having her cream all over my hands too I can still smell this fragrance. There is no way i could ever go wrong with this perfume so it will be my anytime perfume. I will also get the body cream, lotion and body wash and display them all together on their own mirrored tray apart from my collection.

This is rosy, sweet, and super-pretty! Very girly, yet somehow with a sophisticated spin. GREAT bottle. Good sillage, and very classy, with a few unusual notes.

  28. :

Very ordinary scent. Sweet, pleasant, inoffensive and very wearable. The strawberry sweetens up the tuberose quite a bit. The truffle helps to balance the sweetness.
I like to wear this scent a lot because it is so pleasant and ordinary. People will not get offended.
It is not an overly strong scent, and does not project. So people have to come close to you to smell it.
This scent actually got me hooked on perfume, It was the most beautiful scent I had ever smelt up until then…;)

I’m allergic to mushrooms and this tuber note which valentino seems to like it alot, can ruin even the prettiest scents for me.it gradually becomes more and more dominant and covers all the other notes makes me ill and I can’t feel better unless I vomit.oh well,so I know that I shouldn’t come close to any perfume with this note but I received valentino valentina as a gift.it has an adorable bottle and mixture of vanilla, white florals and strawberry looked so promising,so I couldn’t help myself but give it a try
I could get musty smell of tuber but it was very faint and well hidden beneath sweet white florals, tuberose,Jasmine and orange flower were there and it was just the right amount of them, they were creamy but also a tad soapy.their cleanness balanced dirtyness of tuber..I didn’t expect to be able to detect strawberry but it was there, adding a playfull freshness to flowers and then vanilla showed up and this juice seemed so delicious, not too sweet but nice and great for spring/early fall..unfortunately tuber came closer and closer..it’s sourish dirty smell became impossible to ignore so I had no choice but scrub it and I usually never do so..I gave it other chances but all end the same way..now I’m simply accepted that this is not for me,but would be nice for other whitefloral/Vanilla lovers
So I have an 2.7 oz bottle just 15 mil of it used and I don’t think I’d use the left

I blind bought this one… I’m a lover of all things sweet, vanilla, gourmand, etc…
My first test was on paper, and all I got was a pretty generic tuberose (which I really don’t like in huge, suffocating doses…. like Madonna’s Truth or Dare) that also smelled soapy and common? Like an average body lotion or talcum powder?
But I could tell there was something extra there.
With a proper clothing/skin chest wearing… OMG– this is adorable and kinda yummy! Smells like white flowers/tuberose and jelly beans! I just love it! It’s soft and feminine, and sadly… not that potent. It’s average.
So I wonder… Do I want/need the Assoluto/Intense? What I love about Valentina is the jelly bean smell… I don’t want earthy dirt in my jelly beans… and the Intense seems to have a very earthy drydown.
I want Valentina to be more powerful… but I’m on the fence about the Assoluto because it would be another costly blind buy… Decisions…

Chalky, Soapy, Creamy, & Slightly Sweet! On my skin, this fragrance also has a tinge of a peppery note as well. This perfume is familiar yet different. I really like it.

This is such a nice comforting earthy sophisticated scent. When I wear this, the word that comes to mind is “posh”. This is great for the office and all seasons.

  34. :

    4 out of 5

Valentina is quite a unique fragrance. The opening is all strawberry, a little bit of a synthetic “Strawberry Shortcake” kind of scent. The drydown is where the jasmine slowly makes its appearance, and then gives way go an earthy underbase (must be the tuber.) There is a tendency for the tuber to go a little to earthy so that the effect is almost like dirt or the collar of a shirt that has been worn but not yet laundered. Not foul by any means, but just “natural” like a bit of skin oil.
I find this fragrance more appropriate for cooler weather. There is something quite warming about it.
The bottle is very beautiful, but I wish I didn’t have to keep it in the box with the plastic travel cap. I think this would be impossible to travelet with otherwise.
Price point is a bit steep, and it is not widely found in all stores here in the US – only a more limited distribution.
Overall, I do like it, and would consider repurchasing if I finished the bottle.

  35. :

    This is a nice perfume.
When i first sprayed i got a creamy tuberose and a salty smell. I do not know which note is responsible for the salty smell (maybe the vanilla here is salted?), but i like it. Later on, it develops into a sweet perfume with a background of white flowers. The cedar gives it a dense, a bit dark vibe. I do not get much strawberry or bergamot and i am not familiar with tuber, so i can not say how strong is the smell of it on this fragrance. I do smell something that i never smelled before, i think it is the Tuber, but i am not sure. It could well be a combination of other notes. If it is tuber, than i can smell it from the beginning to the end and it is quite intense.
    Overall, a good daytime fragrance.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

This is absolutely daily perfume. Very easy to love because it is unoffensive at all. Very bright bergamot in the opening and heavy jasmine, tuberose and orange flower in the middle notes. Tuber and musk are making it creamy and sensual. In dry down, i love the vanilla, amber and woody note, overall, i love the scent even it doesn’t last on my skin. i have to spray on my shirt to make it last longer.

I really love the review “Action” left. (To be specific: the one posted Apr.1,2012 about Valentina being an ‘old school’-thick floral, creamy fruity… and a GREAT modern ‘classic’…etc.) That’s a good description! With Valentina, I smell the strawberry, jasmine, and tuber. I’m guessing that the tuber, (black truffle) is what gives it the “earthy” smell which is light and I like it. The jasmine is great too, not overpowering, (I’ve had bad experiences with jasmine in the past). There is a “strength” to this perfume that is nice. I do not find it to be overpowering and it does last throughout the day, it just gets lighter. There will be times when I notice it even though it was sprayed hours ago.

I ordered quite a few samples a while ago, and this was one of them.
At first, it smells very spicy and then slowly builds up to a very pleasant floral scent and is lastly followed up by a sweet, spicy scent.
It’s potency I’d say isn’t very long. However, it smells wonderful while it lasts. I would describe this as a sexy perfume.
I’d give this perfume 3 out of 5 stars.

Little sad princesses perfume ☺.I love it for delicate sweet and not so sweet smell, creamy feeling like good Italian ice cream , some cold notes.
Also I can feel some mushroom forest notes , it’s very interesting experience.just smell of fog or maybe young mushrooms .earthy note.
I really want to try also floral version .

I find this fragrance to be utterly ordinary. Nothing stands out for me in terms of notes, it is a plebeian gourmand with nothing going for it and very poor sillage and longevity. If one is a fan of floral gourmands, there are so many more interesting options, even in your local drugstore. It is a shame that Valentino decided to run with this scent and create so many variations. I admit to being hopeful about Valentina Poudre since it appears to be an entirely different animal. I also give them points for bottle design as the pale matte roses draw the eyes amongst the rows of shiny fragrance bottles. I’d advise not blind buying this one.

  41. :

    5 out of 5

The bottle is indeed a beauty – so elegant and sophisticated, Valentino did great with this design. The perfume itself is very sweet, but not syrup-y or sticky sweet. It is light, clean and optimistic – I mostly smell strawberry and flowers. I would however prefer some more bitter or musky notes in the composition, that would make the fragrance more interesting. The longevity sadly is weak – within an hour on my skin it is gone without a trace.

  42. :

Mm, yes. First off, beautiful bottle. This is such an interesting scent. It is ugly-pretty like Coco Rocha, and I mean this in the best way possible. The combination of vanilla, tuber, jasmine and strawberry is just so strange, so bizarre and so addictive. Full of contradictions indeed, they really hit the mark with this one. Love it!

got it yesterday as a gift from my mom who loves the bottle and the scent. To me, it’s just a clean shampooy scent; the same we have in shampoos for dry hair ( things with magnolia and sheabutter)
the smell is clean and warm, yet not spectacular. So it’s a little bit of a disappointment for me who was expecting something pinky floral.

Amazing scent! I get so many compliments when I wear it. It’s a close contender to being my signature scent after Nina Ricci L’Eau. Lasting power is great and the bottle is so pretty. On me its a very sweet floral. I usually wear it during the day or during the night when I want to feel extra girly. I will definitely repurchase a larger bottle when my current one finishes.

  45. :

Such a beautiful bottle which holds in my opinion a not so beautiful scent, it’s nice but that’s about as far as I’d go to comment on it. Nice to wear as a quick squirt if your nipping out but wouldn’t pay all that money for it again..

  46. :

I like this fragrance because it is a big white floral and a big vanilla and over time I get a sense of big cotton and large tuberose. It’s beautiful. I also like it because it has a great staying power and the dry down is wonderful. At least 6 hours before re-appplying. You can’t go wrong! And that’s all before we talk about that beautiful bottle!

i find it similar to nina(nina ricci) and to narciso rodriguez(edt the black one), in general i like this perfume, i think it’s for spring and summer. It lasts about 6 hours on me. Nothing special, but it’s ok 🙂

Valentina reminds me of vanilla ice-cream with strawberry topping, but it’s not too gourmandish as it might seem. There is some creamy flowery scent to keep its oriental aspect. It’s not powdery just creamy and soft. The drydown has some old-fashioned vibe likes the scented wedding card/paper.

For the price I’m paying, I expect it to last at least 4 to 5 hours. (Bought the 50ml EDP) Yes it could be my skin chemistry but I couldn’t smell it on me after 1 hour. I asked my husband and he said ‘What am I suppose to smell again’?
This is not a blind buy as I tested it and I genuinely like this fragrance. IMO it smells like strawberry flavor popsicle ice-cream…the one that you just take it out from the fridge. I know the smell is nothing fancy but I like the jasmine + strawberry combo.Too bad it doesn’t last long and the sillage is close to none. I’m keeping the bottle though.

I literally woke up craving this scent.
This is an unusual one, some people will love it, and some will hate it. It’s a perplexing one; and intriguing nonetheless.
It opens with a burst of freshness with a peppery accord. Hmm… interesting. For the first couple of minutes it’s almost masculine on me… but still feminine in a way. I ponder to my self for a moment, trying to make sense of this interesting smell, and I go back in for another whiff. The heart soon develops, the stunning jasmine sparkles and shines; it’s the star. The creme de la creme. The strawberry has just ripened, adding a fresh, sweet, fruity zest. This scent really enchants me. It carries my imagination off to a fantasy realm. Is this love?.. After a few hours, the inevitable dry down appears… I wish this scent would last forever. The intoxicating blend of vanilla, amber, and cedar wrap up Valentina to perfection. She leaves me wanting more.
I agree with the description “full of contradictions”. It’s simultaneously floral, sweet, earthy, animalic, slightly spicy, cold, warm.. it’s simply dazzling.
Longevity: 3-4 hours on me…please Valentina, won’t you stay?
    Sillage: soft-moderate
The packaging is to die for! It’s the most beautiful bottle I think I’ve ever seen. I will forever have a place for Valentina in my collection, and her memories will always remain in my heart! She’s a hopeless romantic. <3

I wanted this one really bad. I tried a sample and immediately put in on my wish list and swapped handsomely for it. . . well something changed between the sample and the full bottle. All the sweet jasmine, vanilla and strawberry I got from the sample is a slightly sweet “perfumed fart” in the full bottle. I’m sorry to be so graphic but it is what it is. I’m not totally sure what tuber smells like but I do know what indolic Jasmine smells like and while it’s not quite “that” bad, it’s not what I’d call a “pretty” smell. That note or notes never really goes away and stays from top to bottom. It does become more moldy roots as the time passes . . . sad.

  54. :

First of all, the bottle is gorgeous. I have the 30ml version and I was so happy that the smaller bottle also has a beautiful flower in it (the top pink one that has a white leaf). Sometimes the small size bottles are not as pretty, which sucks, but that’s not the case here. There is only one flower though, but it’s understandable as the bottle is ofc smaller in size.
I think this is quite a classy scent. Often perfumes with white floral’s in them can be described as “grandma scents”, but I don’t think Valentina is one of those scents. It’s sophisticated but fresh. I would say that this scent is targeted to more mature people, but I think this could also be a young lady’s first “grown up” scent. I personally can’t really pick up any vanilla. There’s something slightly bitter about this scent…don’t get me wrong, it’s not at all a bad thing…It actually makes this scent quite fresh and it makes the floral notes feel authentic. I think it’s the bergamot mixed with the florals. I can maybe also pick up a teeny-tiny bit of strawberries, but to me it’s not that obvious and I wouldn’t have known there were any until I saw the notes here. Definitely the most identifiable note is the jasmine. I don’t think it’s too overpowering at all, but I do believe the jasmine is what might be throwing some people off, especially younger people. There’s also something slightly spicy about Valentina, which makes this scent stand out a bit more from it’s overall softness.
I like how this scent develops. It keeps that freshness trough out its wear, but in the end stages of this perfume I get more amber and the other base notes, which makes Valentina quite nice and creamy in the end.
Over all, it’s a lovely scent. Quite safe, but not generic in my opinion. I think people who don’t enjoy white flowers, or who aren’t used to them might also fancy this scent. For me this is not a must-have in my collection, so it’s unlikely I’ll repurchase this when it’s gone. But I sure will enjoy the scent greatly while it lasts.

    Quite disappointing really this one.
While it smells nice, “nice” is all it is. Gorgeous bottle, gorgeous name…boring perfume.
It had a lot of promise on paper with the unusual note of truffle, mixed with heady florals and strawberry.
What it smells like is mainly a creamy tuberose (which is lovely) a touch of jasmine and an abundance of strawberry. I think the strawberry is what ruins it, it pushes into a yawnnnnn. It sweetens the perfume up too much and masks what could have been really cooL!
This combination unfortunately makes it fall into the run of the mill floral fruity realm. I’ve smelled this many times before and it smells like lots of other things on the market.
Add in the fact that this perfume doesn’t develop, or have any character and for me…it’s a fail. Sorry Valentino. This one isn’t so great.

Jmalone84 you’re absolutely right. It’s ho hum – boring to say the least. I don’t mean it’s awful, but so samey! It’s like a zillion other fragrances out there, and quite disappointing. It can’t come close to the excitment and intrigue of its sister in the black bottle, Valentina Oud Assoluto. To those who love it, enjoy!

So I tried this today, and this just smells like everything else right now, reminds me of the Rihanna frags with some jasmine. It’s nice enough, pretty even, but just so generically so. Unoriginal and leaving me unimpressed. The bottle is beautiful though, I don’t know why but I just expected SO much more.
A word to describe is lack-lustre.

Upon first smelling my wrist, there is an incredible amount of creamy vanilla. Normally I avoid scents with too much vanilla, but this vanilla seemed to be blended with a strong and bitter fruity note (Bitter orange maybe). If it weren’t for the extra fruity kick, I would have dismissed Valentina as a generic girly girl perfume.
There’s definitely a lot of jasmine, which is noticed soon after the vanilla is. The bitter fruitiness quickly fades away, leaving a creamy scent like I first described. It’s very sweet and rather soft, and there’s still a slight sour and spicy hint beneath all the sweetness. But the sourness and spiciness is not overpowering, and in my opinion it adds character to a perfume that could have easily turned generic.
The description for this perfume states that it is “full of contradictions” and I would agree. The contradictions work, though, which surprised me.
I feel that someone wearing Valentina would be a sweet, caring person with a wild and seductive side hidden somewhere within them. This is best worn on clothes if you want it to last more than a couple of hours.

The first time I tried it, I found it atrocious. The bitterness of the tuber is a lot to take in for me. After trying it again, it still smells bitter, but not bad. It’s definitely unique and I really appreciate that in perfumes.
I will say that it’s hard for me to imagine a young woman wearing this, even though I feel like it was made to attract young perfume lovers. Maybe for a very formal occasion? It doesn’t feel fun or playful at all to me, it has a sensual tranquility to it.

I get lots of vanilla in this. Very powdery, but in a warm, clean sort of way. It’s quite simple and smells similar to a few others, but overall a very nice wearable scent. Plus the bottle is to die for! What happened to the picture here?!

The scent is very warm with a slight spicyness to it. I love it, but don’t wear it as much in the summer as the spicyness kind of cuts in the nose. Basically, when I’m warm the smell kind of changes to sharp and spicy.
But it is a beautiful smell. I often get compliments. It is very mature but not a chanel no.5 kind of mature.

This smells… bad. At first it’s floral and a bit fruity, but it dries down to the tuber scent (I think?) which makes it smell a bit like rotten eggs or a mushroom. I tested a sample of this today and everytime I smelt myself I’d shudder and feel embarrassed. Nope nope nope, not for that pricetag.

First of all, longevity is great. Secondly, I am almost 23 years but this perfume make me feel older.I recommend it to women 30 plus years old. Maybe it’s just my opinion. But I think this perfume is for mature woman. I see pretty woman in an elegant black coat, with black simple pumps and hot red lipstick 🙂 This woman wearing Valentina perfume. The scent is floral and sweet. But I dont smell any strawberries. Only jasmine, soft vanilla, and significantly tuber. What about bottle ? A bottle is one of the
