For me it’s invictus aqua by poorer performance…but more cheaper and same versatility

A poor performing weak waste of money if you buy this.

masterpiece from SF after their wonderful F pour Homme

Fantastic fragrance, nice performance too. I am ok with this not being as popular as some of the other hyped frags because itll keep it a little less common. This is a unique fresh fragrance that doesnt really smell much like anything else. I wear this a lot.
Also, Whomever put AdG Absolu as a “smells like” frag needs to get their nose checked.

This is a good different, I really like how this one is, to have scents that don’t usually go together like coffee and violet. This is a well done mix that I will be buying in the near future and have it ready for next spring. I do believe this is more of a nice spring fragrance than summer. They did a good job on this one.
    Scent 7/10
Edit, I had a decent of this and that projected for about 3 hours and then became a skin scent for the next 6 hours on me.
    Projection 7/10
    Sillage 6/10
    Longevity 8/10

Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Casual Life, I’m not sure what to say. On the one hand it is unique, a gourmand freshie. You spray this and you get notes that typically don’t go together, lemon, violet leaf, coffee, cashmere and musk. Those are the common notes. These notes blend pretty good and the coffee isn’t too over powering so maybe it is more cappuccino or tiramisu like the original Ferragamo Uomo.
The problem is on the other hand it is a mix of several fragrances. It is a flanker to the original Ferragamo Uomo, but Casual Life has some elements of other scents. It is a little bit in the realm of Zegna Uomo though not as aquatic. It has a very Burberry Touch violet heavy open, but it is more on the sweet side of things. I find it is similar to Invictus like fragrances but more specifically Azzaro Wanted due to the lemon. There is some Playboy VIP for men in it due to the fresh, light gourmand fragrance, though this is entirely better. I would slightly compare it to Versace Dylan Blue due to the light bit ambroxan mid.
Uomo Casual Life is very casual. It work in summer, it works in spring, it works for errands and work (if you want to respray.) I say this because it is light pleasant and a crowd pleaser. For now, ambroxan is a scent that is marketable. That said, it is not a great performer. I have to wonder if it is an EDC or if Ferragamo put forth a lesser EDT formulation. It projects for an hour or so but only lasts about three to four hours as a skin scent.
Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Casual Life I feel works as a flanker to the original Uomo, but it is much weaker than it. Casual Life gets a 7.0 out of 10 for me. It is a letdown but I might be open for a trade but I know I would not get another bottle. Nothing really does me in it sadly.

very distinctive fragrance, just like their F pour Homme

This is another average generic scent with quite synthetic feeling, a blend with dominant violet leaf, ambroxan and lemon straight up my nose. At the background there is a mild musky coffee note which does not match with the rest ingredients imo. Performance is good moderate.

I just tried a sample of this and I find it distinctly average and without character. i guess you could call it “aquatic”, but honestly, it smells soapy at best. Very one-dimensional as well. No noticeable change after some time. Yes, it is a fresh summer scent, but really doesn’t stand out in my opinion.

I sampled this the other day and have had a few days now to sus it out. It smelt familiar and I initially thought Invictus Aqua and it does resemble it to a degree because of the freshness and violet but this also heavily reminds me of Zegnas Florentine iris and PDM Galloway. They all share that fresh, musky violet so it is fairly unisex imo this is better than the PDM and Zegna and also a decent alternative to Invictus Aqua 2016 but not because they smell similar but because there in the same ball park as a sweeter, airy freshy. Once you get past the opening and it start to drydown and the coffee fades away your left with traces that resemble these fragrances I’ve mentioned. This is a really nice one for the warmer weather. Very decent from Uomo. They managed to create a non linear scent that has distinct phases quite well. If you want to try a pleasant fresh designer this is worth a shot because at the present moment there’s not a great deal of good ones in the designer realm in my opinion.

Its a good scent, sweet and kinda aquatic. Not ground breaking but great for a high heat weather city like Phoenix. I wear this to work and get compliments. Really nice smell

I haven’t smelt this but it will serve a purpose for those wanting a fresh fragrance. If people would want something out of the ordinary, they would buy niche or do their research and hunt down lesser known designers, so, those people wanting more exciting fragrances more than likely wouldn’t be actively hunting this out anyway.
All I ever see now is “boring” “nothing out of the ordinary”. What do you expect from a lower to middle priced designer freshie ?
Back in the day, if a fragrance smelt good, then it smelt good, now with this eternal battle between designer and niche, people expect things from designer releases, they shouldn’t really be expecting.
Fragrances such as these are relatively cheap, mass market appeal fragrances for a reason. They serve a purpose to those looking for something simple.
People really need to stop expecting miracles. If you want something wacky or original, go into niche, they cater for the bands of people looking for such fragrances.

If you’re a middle class high school girl who’s into hanging out at the mall and wearing too much makeup, you’ll probably fall in love with a boy because he wears this. If you’re anyone else, you’ll probably smell it and think “meh.”

  15. :

Just like @ancientcoins0 said, it’s very generic. If you are into collecting, then this will be on bottom of your list. It reminds me of those cheap fragrances that give you headache. I think that this will be the first fragrance that has to leave my collection.

Uomo Casual Life was launched in mid-2017 as the first flanker of Uomo cologne, launched in 2016. The concept behind the creation was to portray the dynamic life of modern and adventurous man, a true enthusiast.
Once again, the perfumers Alberto Morillas and Aurélien Guichard came together, repeating the collaboration of the original fragrance. And although some people do not see the similarity, I think there was a certain maintenance of the DNA, mainly by the use of the coffee note, which connects with the “sweet notes” that resulted in a smell of Tiramisù in the original fragrance.
Uomo Casual Life has conquered me since the first spray! It is the type of fragrance that combines freshness, elegance and a sweet and addictive touch. It makes me think of autumn and the changes in temperature that occur over the course of days. But what I like the most here is definitely the coffee note. I’m tired of testing fragrances that carry this note in the composition, but that seem not to exist in practice. The first time I wore it, I thought: “Finally, I can feel the coffee easily, even in a fragrance that is not essentially oriental or gourmand.”
Uomo Casual Life is one of the few masculine perfumes I have ever tested and that can be fresh and gourmand at the same time. As soon as the fragrance touches the skin, comes a scent of a delicious cappuccino, as if prepared with a few drops of lemon along with the milk. This freshness camouflages the sweetness and opens the way for a delicious nuance of violets. However, the cardamom is very timid, just to let you know!
As time passes, the fragrance gains sweeter and ambery nuances thanks to ambroxan (a compound that has already become famous for trying to replace ambergris and is obtained from esclareol). From this stage, it loses strength (unfortunately) and begins to become silky. In my opinion, this is the part that deserved more attention. The notes that were used in the base help in the longevity of the fragrance, but are too soft and end the evolution of this cologne. Just a touch of labdanum or, perhaps, the same tonka beans from the original fragrance could bring a better result.
For Uomo Casual Life I have a tip: if lightly applied, the coffee will not be noticed with ease. It is worth exaggerating in sprays to feel what this scent has the best. It is one of those cases where, not always, less is more. The projection is low, but the lasting is very good.
The beautiful bottle repeats the visual identity of its predecessor, with the same heavy glass, built-in spray and 3D side logo, created by Lucio Venna.
To conclude, I dare say that Uomo Casual Life is the ideal product for those looking for freshness, but does not like the typically fresh fragrances. It is for the man who likes elegance, but does not give up a contemporary touch.

Initial blast of sharp fruity goodness then drys down to warm cardamom / coffee scent. This is one of my favorites and my bottle is emptying quickly….
5/16/18: I think this is in my top 3. The mix of a sparking open and warm tiramisu dry down defines a happy existence

This is the kind of fragrance that you’d have to wear without even thinking about it to actually enjoy this. When you directly smell it up front, yes it’s on the generic side of things, but it’s still a safe scent nonetheless. The magic here is you must let it look for you instead of looking for it because when it’s no longer playing hard to get, it will give you a subtle playful lemon; because it’s buried underneath the violet leaf- the rough exterior that gives a peppery offering.
I also own the original uomo and love that. That one and casual life are very different by the way. The ladies go nuts over these!

  19. :

    4 out of 5

Lovely scent. I agree with some here saying that it’s linear and to my nose indeed it is. The opening is energetic kinda aquatic and citrusy with a touch of floral- herbal notes maybe due to violet and geranium. I don’t get the coffee here, maybe some spicy sweetness at the drydown because of cedar. All in all it’s better for spring/summer due to the freshness of it, both day and night. It might be a bit generic but it’s a really pleasant scent. Compared with original Uomo they go on different sides, no similarities to me. Projection and sillage are decent

  20. :

    3 out of 5

I think the original UOMO for night and the CASUAL LIFE for the day. Both have nice scent. The casual life reminds me of L’Homme Libre Yves Saint Laurent, may be due to the violet leaf note.

  21. :

No testers available for this scent, so I took a leap and blind bought this one. All I can say is, if you are a fan of sweet, bright, fruity scents, this one will definitely be up your alley. In fact, I can see women wearing this. For the 20’s crowd, IMO.
It’s fairly linear, with citrus, violet leaf and soft musk hogging the stage from start to finish. Safe office and casual chores scent ( going to the grocery, the mall, walking the dog, doing carpentry, etc) 5/10

I bought this eau de toilette yesterday.
I wore Casual life this morning at the office and i received two unsolicited compliments by two female coworkers.
The performance is good : longevity around 8 hours / projection is not loud, but the scent is easily perceptible.
Honestly, i don’t see similarities with the original Uomo (which i have and love too).

  24. :

    ★★★ (3/ 5 stars) – could be unisex
Factor in recent price drops, versatility, and performance and this jumps to 4 out of 5 stars. One of my favorite recent acquisitions.
For violet leaf lovers. Sweet, musky, violet leaf lovers.
I feel that Casual Life shares more in common with Burberry Touch than Invictus / or Invictus aqua. Perhaps a dash of Zara 7.0.
This fragrance is powdery, ozonic, and my bottle is heavy on the violet leaf. Remove the pepper of Burberry Touch and add some sweetness of the original Ferragamo Uomo…. Plus a dash of freshness for summer wearings… And you have Casual Life. I only wish the coffee notes came through more.
For a fresh fragrance I’m getting above average performance. My last few wearings are topping 7 hours. More than enough for a work day.
Youtubers are giving it high marks and I am getting lots of compliments while wearing it. Might be backup bottle worthy to me.

putrid alcholic smell, a downgrade from the wonderful Ferragamo Uomo. I cant smell any dominant or distinct notes at all.

  26. :

    4 out of 5

It’s exactly what the sample and card says it is casual life it’s just a nice casual fragrance year rounder nothing amazing but it smells good because it smells similar to other popular fragrances it’s a sweet fresh clean scent it’s a likeable scent but I wouldn’t pay full retail price for it I’d wait until it’s on fragrancenet or perfumania to get the 30% to 50% off but for the time being I got 4 small samples of it

  27. :

    4 out of 5

So fragrance flankers either go…1) Let’s ramp up the originals ideas to ‘eleventy stupid’ (to quote Mark Kermode) and call it ‘Intense’ or ‘Extreme’ while actually squeezing the heart and soul out of the fragrance or effectively and inexplicably making it weaker! or….2) Let’s give it fresher more aquatic type top notes or shoehorn in a modern fad from other popular releases (all of which are made by our parent company as well) diluting what made the original good.
This is the latter. Fresh opening and all very nice just like someone added a little generic crap to what was an interesting but ultimately flawed original. I kinda quite like that you can still smell the orignal DNA but I’ll pass on this effort.

  28. :

Boring and generic. Destined for a Ross store near you.
The sample I have has “For Adult Use Only” on the card – hahahaha!

I have been saving my many thoughts on this one for last. It opens up completely like Uomo, the original. Sweet, sensual, almost feminine vibe. Very very invigorating opening, smells to me like lemon tea sweetened with florals, very very nice. The middle has a ‘green’ vibe to me, I guess it’s the geranium. I don’t get any coffee though, there’s just some pretty tamed ambroxan (under room temperature) which when exposed to the hot sun becomes louder and gives off an acrid smell. I get some decent leather note in the drydown and hardly any woods. Depending on weather conditions, this might settle down differently, ranging anywhere from leather, to musk, and to plastic.
Nice casual scent with the best sprayer I’ve seen in any perfume
And beautiful juice too!! The light blue tint, damn! looks sophisticated when placed against a white background. The bottle looks classy too…I give Ferragamo a thumbs up for the presentation.

  30. :

Despite missing the leather, I found that this one dries down to something very similar to Burberry Brit Rhythm for Men – in other words I love it and I got a few compliments too from friends when I tried my sample. Performance is very good as well in all respects. A versatile year-round fragrance that I recommend unconditionally.

This smells like Thallium, Dior Homme Cologne 2013 mixed with a sweet coffee note.
It’s really nice, but not worth retail. I only bought it, because I wanted it…and couldn’t wait for the price to drop.
Awesome office scent, no one will be offended.
I know a lot of people didn’t like the original Uomo…
Because of the sweet notes, along with everything else.
Then you should try this bad boy out.
Get a free sample from the nearest Salvatore Ferragamo boutique.
Yes, it has the DNA of the original, but it’s not as sweet or dark.
The light version…ah yin and yang if you will.
    Hope this helps.
I used six sprays…both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest, and front of my shirt.
Will I buy this again?…No, I don’t see myself finishing this bottle. Like I did with Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo (two times over).
Should You Skipped It, Sample It First or Blind Buy It? Sample it (it smells like Uomo & Thallium Yves de Sistelle mix together).
Can you use it as a unisex scent?…Yes!
Is it the old or new formulation? New(First Batch)

Bought this perfume recently and I already got a few compliments. The opening reminds me a little bit of Invictus but not as fresh. Not a crazy good fragrance but will continue using it in night out type of day, not a club fragrance tho.

  33. :

    3 out of 5

The opening reminds me with Zara Accord no.3, which has the same note of Abroxan and Violet leaf. But dries down totally different. Uomo FSCL gives a sweet coffe with spicy cedar, while Zara continues with sweet taste of white flower.

  34. :

    3 out of 5

Casual scent. It doesn’t have anything with Uomo. Uomo is a cherry with tiramisu, but this one has coffee and aftershave

  35. :

    4 out of 5

Pretty generic and strong synthetic scent on my skin. Left some oil on my skin where I sprayed it.
An autumn and spring scent, but you may be able to pull it off in summer because it does have that freshness about it.
I personally prefer the original because of the tiramisu/coffee. It’s smoother too.
    5/10 for scent
    7/10 for sillage
    7/10 for projection
    8/10 for longevity

  36. :

Bought this today and I got a ton of free samples. It’s a better version of the original Uomo and does not smell like tiramisu! LOL

  37. :

I always hope for the best with any fragrance release but unfortunately with this one it really, really disappoints. Very generic and dense synthetic smelling. I like Sauvage and Dylan blue etc.. but this stuff just doesn’t do it correct at all. Too bad…

  38. :

    3 out of 5

it really reminds me of Thallium Yves de Sistelle . but thallium is more sharp and intense and Uomo is more smooth and better blended . but smell-wise they are 90% similar with out a doubt . between these two i definitely go with thallium comparing the Price and Performance
    Scent : 8/10

  39. :

I feel this is a totally different scent compared to the original due to the use of different florals, violet leaf and geranium and lemon. I dare say i like this over the original as it’s far far too sweet for me

  40. :

    5 out of 5

Do not buy this. It’s a boring and generic smell. The base is the same dull, butch cedar that you get from sooo many other fragrances. I sprayed my arm and it smelled as if I’d rubbed a magazine on myself. A product made to appeal to the masses…shame

  41. :

Finally got my nose on this one, reminds me of a mix of Ultra Zest and Allure Homme Sport.
Skin scent on me after 2/3 hours with average projection and longevity.
Worth a sniff if you come across, will definitely be in my summer rotation.

Excellent autumn and spring scent. Part citrus and then stops on sweet and amber notes. Very mysterious with great performances. But I do not like the coffee note otherwise I would give it a great vote.
