Description

In Spring 2013 Fragonard is launching its fragrant collection Le Jardin de Fragonard which includes four fragrances, perfumed soap, scented candles and diffusers. Each of the fragrances will take us for an olfactive journey and offer a harmonious composition that will tingle our imagination.

The fourth fragrance of the collection is Tilleul Cédrat which highlights the beauty of linden trees with sweet and luminous citruses. In the shade of the linden, luminous lemons are embraced by violet leaves, offering the characteristic freshness of honey-sweet linden blossom, while the sun of Provence warms the skin very pleasantly. The fragrance is available as 50 ml EDP.

The heatwave in the UK is a bit annoying for scent lovers, as few scents can stand up to 80° heat, and they last 5 seconds, such a waste. But this one, like many Fragonards, and also Goutal scents, does stand up to heat. Wearing Tilleul Cedrat is extremely pleasant in hot weather, soap, etc as well, a very refreshing linden with a citrus edge. I had compliments from men and women. Excellent 🙂

This is one of my favorites from Fragonard, and a delightful perfume for daytime wear, I particularly like it in winter. It has better longevity than most Fragonards, which is another plus (while I love many of their scents, they often seem to have faded within an hour but this one lasts a while).

I got this perfume by chance – as a swap – and it has been the best blind perfume swap for me so far. This is the kind of perfume that my husband says “yeah, this smells like you”. (He says the same about “La chasse aux papillons” by L’Artisan and this perfume has very similar vibe to it.) Linden flowers, a bit of honey, lots of warm jasmine, something that reminds me of warm skin, summer and summer dresses, yellow flowers. Sweet, but also herbal, not too overpowering, but long lasting. Funny thing – i am using The Body Shop Honeymania shower gel right now and my skin right after showering smells almost exactly like my skin about 3 hours after spraying Tilleul & Cedrat on my elbow. But I guess it’s my skin chemistry, you have to check yourself. I recommend it for anyone who likes linden blossom, honey and Chasse aux Papillons. And as a person prone to migraines, which fact eliminates so many perfumes for me (too sweet or too heady, classic example is Shalimar), i have to say- this one doesn’t give me one. It’s sweet, but perky. Romantic, but not boring. Sexy and natural. “Smells like me!”

Really interesting the way this one progresses through, very well blended notes. Starts out with a strong cedar note surrounded by citrus and florals and actually produces an extremely unique experience. It becomes increasingly more soapy and floral and as such feminine to my nose, actually reminds me of something my mum would wear. Nevertheless this is a well made and long lasting perfume with a great balance of elements, the jasmine and orange blossom for example are ever present but not overbearing and the scent remains clean, fresh and woody throughout.
I probably wouldn’t wear it myself but have quite enjoyed it on this occasion as a change from the norm.

I got it in the Fragonard Shop in Paris, and it was a quick decision, as two impatient friends were rushing me..It`s the perfect spring perfume for me, as for me spring is linden: where I`m from in May and early June everything would be surrounded by the strong but fresh smell of blossoming linden, and this perfume reminds me so much of that time of year..I can`t really get much of the cedar or any of the other notes though, which is okay by me..I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a not to sugary but refreshing sweet spring fragrance.

Cedrat means citron (lemon). It`s a wonderful subtle feminine fragrance, lots of linden, no harsh notes and no, definitely no cedar, I don`t smell any. I think most people read cedrat and they think they smell cedar.

This was the first Fragonard I’ve been disappointed with. Even though carnation isn’t listed in the notes, something in this fragrance is giving me a strong carnation-like scent which completely overpowers the linden and citrus and renders it unwearable for me. I thought I’d finally found a good linden EDP, but will now have to keep searching – does anyone know where to find the EDP version of Annick Goutal’s Eau de Ciel?

this is lovely and also has a distinctive ‘dry’ smell that catches in your throat very slightly.
It reminds me of a soapy version of Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Flora Nymphea, which also has that dry catch to it.
I can understand why people think of cedar, it’s the dry nature of the scent which is giving that impression. it’s hard to notice the citrus, to be honest.
it’s really very nice and the scented soap is lovely.

    Finally a good linden.
creamy warm. pretty honeyed. cottony. sensual and innocent. and eternal adolescence.
yes remind me a sort of body lotion of the 90s but nice at least..
the best linden on the market for now. The most close to the true blossom.
jasmine and mandarine are in the notes list. I have read the brochure into the shop.
low price. simple composition. lovely. Clean sweet.
Im not sure if cedar is in the composition but I think that Most of people here confuse cedrat with cedar. Cedrat is the french word for Citron the big lemonlike knobby fruit.
Now I have the official pyramid
    citron
    mandarin
    violet leaf
    Linden
    jasmine
    orange blossoms
    Cedar
    white musk

At first the strong smell of citruses really hit my nose , but after a while the perfume gets a very pleasant, fresh, floral mood which almost reminds me of some soap. I think that the violet leaves and orange blossoms are here the strongest notes. Strong fragrance with a fresh clean basis.

Staying power is incredibly good. Strong cedar opening which I love with fresh citruses and floral accord and a suble wood base. Could be unisex but it is more femenine. Top quality. xx

This perfume is very pretty. It starts off with a very strong top note of cedar, but quickly dries down to a fresh, slightly spicy beautiful scent that lasts all day and has just enough floral but not too much to be overly sweet. It is gorgeous. I get tons of compliments on it. A little goes a long way. Reminds me slightly of Coriander but softer and cleaner.

Maybe my nose is going through a weird phase, but all I smell is orange blossoms, violet leaves and a hint of cedar. Somehow, it reminds me a softer version of Elie Saab Le Parfum. Nice, but not my favorite among the Le Jardin de Fragonard collection.

Masculine and “stinging” (as Encens – Feve Tonka). It makes me think of a bad Fahrenheit. Not for me at all.
