Holy batman. If you like Black Afgano, Complex or Laudano Nero, you might like this one. It is heavy licorice and anise with serious mint making it a bit like catnip in a spice rack. I still am in the top and not getting the sea or musk. In the base there is dry, herbal tobacco.

I am wearing this right now. Quite a peculiar scent. Sweet, marine/ozonic, tobacco, green notes (violet), liquorice – it’s all there. It is strangely cooling. Feels like I’ve been time-warped off to an outdoor public swimming pool in the middle of winter!!
In contrast to what others have said, I think the tobacco and liquorice are VERY evident here. People seem to think that tobacco leaf should smell smoky and rich. It doesn’t. It smells green and strangely like chlorinated water. It only smells smoky if you burn it, folks!
Also, I can say categorically, that this perfume should have been classified as unisex. It leans perhaps in a more masculine direction due to its salty slant, but I’m sure either gender could pull this one off.

I am the other third of the split between asali, Madrona and myself (beautiful split, by the way. Asali is a generous and beautiful soul).
I have been interested in licorice fragrances lately, not necessarily salty ones but I love a salty note occasionally. I do not know how salmiac licorice tastes or smells so cannot make that association. This fragrance is only mildly salty to my nose, very mellow, and the licorice is hard to find. It is there, but only in teasing wafts, definitely not the major player. In fact, it is hard for me to locate a main note.
As a licorice fragrance, it is a disappointment. However, the drydown is a lovely cool musk, again mellow, not the raunchy variety. I do not pick up on tobacco, though there is the soft side of violet in this.
I have grown to love it the more I wear it. It is unique, melancholy and great for layering, which I do with Royall Muske and/or a wonderful anise fragrance oil from Haus of Gloi. Although it is not the licorice fragrance I was hoping for, it is quite lovely for what it is and as such, I love it.

I procured this through a blind split with the lovely asali here on Fragrantica in the hopes of finding a perfume that would smell like salmiac or salt liquorice. Does it? Well…
This is certainly a unisex scent, make no mistake. It takes a certain woman to wear this. Despite being called “Tabac Licorii”, in the opening the liquorice note is subdued in favor of a very real marine note – a note I was hoping would lend saltiness to the liquorice, but actually evokes imagery of being out in the Nordic archipelago instead. The tar-like character of the tobacco evokes the interior of an old, wooden boat. When I made my SO smell it, he said it smelled like a “sea dog” – an old, cozy, bearded man with a pipe being at sea with his trusty boat, the smell of the wooden interior mixing with a hint of his classic aftershave.
The drydown, however, is when the marine notes give way to the liquorice. It turns sweeter, but still reads pitch black, a bit medicinal, some saltiness left in there but mostly tobacco and liquorice. As such, I’d say that this is a salt liquorice scent, but not a salmiac scent. Longevity and sillage are both very good. I seem to get more and more facets of this one the more I smell it.
