4.2oz bottle at tjmaxx for 16.99. This is strong and potent stuff with monster level Sillage. It’s pretty but be easy. I’m an oversprayer but can’t with this one! Now I have a headache from hell! This is floral all the way. It’s beautiful. Like a stronger Jadore to me.

I am fairly new to the world of fragrance and so a few months ago I decided I would ask everyone what they thought should be my first ever blind buy. It was between Splendor, Incredible Things, Tea Rose and JC JC.
I was persuaded to believe Splendor was my best bet and boy, it is perfect!
My tastes lean floral and sweet and feminine. Think kitten heels, vintage summer dresses and pearls. This scent is fresh and clean and ladylike. The kind of thing you’d wear to a garden party.
Because it’s so cheap I figured it wouldn’t last very long or project very much but I find it can linger on my skin for half a day noticeably, especially in hot weather. The projection is good too, I spray once on the front and back of my neck and I find it gives me a intimate bubble of fragrance.
I would gladly wear this to tea with Kate Middleton.

Having read the reviews about the supposed associations with “grandma smell” of this perfume, I was quite anxious about my blind buy of Splendor. Oh well, I thought, at least it is cheap and if I’d be disappointed with it, I could just give it away to someone else.
But! Splendor is splendid! It is sheer, it is romantic, it is fresh – it’s everything I’d expect from my summer perfume. Furthermore, the fragrance brings a lot of nostalgic memories for me – my hometown in the early 00’s, elegant women in white platform shoes and pastel-colored dresses, gold jewelry and small, stylish sunglasses. They are drinking their cocktails in terraces, they are laughing and sharing their joyous energy – that’s what Splendor is about for me. It’s ideal in warm weather and it lingers beautifully throughout the day.
Therefore, if you like see-through, feminine, white floral smells – Splendor is for you. Plunge into this prettiness!

Splendor is a beautiful and fresh lily with underlying floral/greens – one of the best bargains out there for floral lovers! Relatively strong and long lasting in the slightly vintage bottle I tested, this fragrance performed better for me than many a costly floral. 🙂
Those are the pluses, which are considerable. On the other hand, I seem to sense a sizable amount of the aroma chemical ‘calone’, often used to create melon, lily, or aquatic notes. Though that one chemical turns a gorgeous scent into a chemical disaster on me, it in no way deters my appreciation for a fine LILY in the best traditional sense.
When Splendor is worn on the right person, it is like Easter Sunday and a touch of laundry day combined… Evocative, fresh, and spring like.
    In short, delightful!

I don’t see Splendor as an”old lady perfume” whatever that is (do old ladies all wear the same perfume and is it Splendor?) but as a beautiful floral scent that is relatively cheap (although not in Brazil) and offers great performance with an 8 hour longevity and a very perceptible sillage. Be sure that in future people will refer to Fantasy, HP and others (especially LVEB) as old ladies scent . A new generation always stigmatizes the older one’s preferences.

Okay, I just got a small bottle of this, and when I sprayed it on, the first thing I thought was: “oh, this is nice, but it smells like something by Yves Rocher. Pivoine? I know this scent and it smells like my grandmother.”
So, for the first time ever, I’ve smelled a perfume and thought “old lady”.
I really like it though, and I intend to use it when I’m hungry for a bouquet of flowers. The flowers are multitude and they are lovely, with an unexpectedly sensual dry down of sandalwood. It’s inoffensive enough to be worn out and about, but be aware that it has a powdery quality that I didn’t even notice until someone who hates powdery scents told me so.
They said it smells like a “cheap floral talcum powder”, whatever that is. I pointed out to him that he hasn’t worn a powder, cheap or otherwise, in his life, so he couldn’t possibly know what that smells like. He retorted that is smells like an old lady.
Usually, when I hear a perfume described as an “old lady perfume” I jump right in, because that in general means it’s not the typical sugary blandness everyone’s pumping out at the moment, and I’m going to love it. But in the case of Splendor, I might agree with that assessment. So when I wear it, and I will wear it, I expect teenagers to give me their seat on the bus, goddammit.

New review based on the bottle I own now. On me, this is a warm, soft, clean, floral scent. I say warm because it’s not sharp. It’s a daytime and Spring, maybe Summer fragrance. Very safe, timeless and classy.
I can’t say much about projection because I get used to fragrances too fast, so I don’t notice them after a while. Right now, I can smell Splendor softly even as I’m typing, so at least I can smell it at half an arm’s length. When just spritzed I can smell it at arm’s length for some time.
EA fragrances more often than not suit my skin chemistry, whether I actually like the fragrance or not. This is a non-sweet fragrance that suits me, that I quite like.
This is strange, there’s something that comes off as cashmere warm on me even though there isn’t casmeran -anything in Splendor.

Splendor is a clean white flower bouquet with a subtle woody base, I am not able to detect any fruity or citrusy traces. Although not a listed component, it reminds me of lilacs — at least the smell of the lilac plant in a neighbouring garden –, which must come from the dominant wisteria.
With Splendor you get an elegant, clean, and nonintrusive fragrance that lasts a couple of hours, all this for a good price. I like to wear this in spring and summer, its versatility makes it a good option for any given occasion.

I cant believe i had this perfume 10 years ago and couldnt stand it. Now i love it!
Only a couple of days ago i was literally following a lady whilst walking my dog as she smelt lovely. Like spring. It suddenly occurred to me, whether it was Splendor – which is odd as i hadn’t smelt it in 10 years nor did i like it.
So the next day i tested it in store and swore it smelt much better (as though its been reformulated) than years back. I noticed how it lingered to the following day and couldnt get it out of my mind. So i ended up purchasing 2 bottles on offer.
This is coming from someone who cannot wear floral perfumes.
Splendor is a softer 5th Avenue yet strong with great sillage! It reminds me of clean laundry sheets and fresh feeling of being in the shower. It also has a touch of freshness that i find in Estee Lauders Pleasures and a hint of aquatic like sharpness that i find in Cool water. Theres also a creamy lotion quality about it too.
I cannot believe how underrated this perfume is and am so fortunate that it doesnt make me feel sick and that i’m able to tolerate it.
The bottle is so adorable: simple, it doesnt take up much space, easy to hold and elegant.

As many have said – clean, soapy and lovely flowers. It’s a nice fresh combination.
Splendor is different from almost every perfume that I own. I like that about it. It reminds me a little of Malachite Special Edition (Banana Republic). I really like it, but I can’t say I love it. This is the first night that I’m wearing it, so maybe by the end of the night I’ll be in love – sort of like a surprising blind date.

Soapy/bubblebath/green scent. Clean scent. Bright and fresh. Sort of an energizing yet relaxing scent. Like, good morning! Wake up! But..you can relax all day today!!! No stress!! I just generally get a soapy scent to this. Bottle even looks like it belongs in the bathtub, like some sort of bath pampering routine product. Not a heavy nor overpowering scent, but I think there is a possible danger of over-spraying this.
Clean, fresh, soapy. Not much else to say about this one. Will be nice for Spring and maybe the heat and humidity of Summer, which, I’ve been looking for frag’s good or great for the heat and humidity. This one will be a nice addition to my collection. Welcome to my collection, Splendor.

    #113
The bottle is beautiful, the fragrance is beautiful and, considering the previous two points, the price is even more beautiful.
For $15AUD, I was able to walk out with this and a bottle of Blue Grass. As I love Elizabeth Arden, this was a must. I usually blind buy them because they are cheap enough to justify it.
The Elizabeth Ardens unfortunately all open in a rather ‘same ish’ type way, that makes it hard to instantly fall in love. But wait! What’s this? Hyacinth and LotV? My two loves come out in a bouquet of pure love. I adore this fragrance! I even wear it on cold chilly evenings.
I get amazing longevity, probably more than 9 hours. I like to pair it with the Sunflowers body lotion (don’t have any body prdocuts for this, sadly) and a lotv body powder with it. It works so amazingly.

a beautiful bright floral bouquet an opulent aldehyde chypre type of retro yet wearable floral summery springy truly uplifting sunny perfume..bright and shiny and sparkly soapy and clean with lots of white florals and hints of musky accords a bit like estee lauder s pleasures mixed with alfred sung sung with the black spray nozzle and clear glass bottle ..those types of florals turn a bit like bug spray if i spray them directly to my skin but thats just my skin chemistry which doesn’t do well with such accords but lately i ve been forcing myself to go that direction coz i feel i am enjoying their bright floral aspect so i spray spangly on clothes and try not to let it touch my skin and hoping that i wont end up with sever headaches from the white florals at least in this case they are not so indolic or creamy they are light bright white and beautiful in a nostalgic way ..a perfect summer fragrance a truly classy/frenchy/chypree beautiful elegant floral with hints from queleqes fleurs l’original ..a safe everyday scent that you can wear to work or to a dinner or lunch or simply to do your earned..beautiful on clothes very fresh has hints from estee lauder estee super spray that super clean almost zesty green chypre accord that hits you like a burst of alcoholic shock that travels up your nostrils and infuses your lungs with a huge amount of a clean chemical floral musky aldehydic chypre accord i think this works beautifully in hot weather in humid weather in dry weather in tropical sunny weather its a day time perfume more of an uplifting invigorating silvery sparkly white floral accord

Hello from Deco Dawn this is my review of Elizabeth Arden Splendor. I absolutely love this fragrance it is ‘sparkling’ from the first spray a beautiful feminine blend of Aldehydes white flowers and the dry down is soft and feminine. I love the bottle design as I am an ‘Art Deco’ fan this style is very much en vogue in 2017. This fragrance does not smell old at all it sits perfectly well with all of the contemporary fragrances available today. Age irrelevant and perfect for day and evening use. Ideal for Spring Summer and as a Wedding fragrance either as a bride or guest as so romantic. Just heavenly. Well done to Elizabeth Arden. I bought this as a blind buy after reading some of the reviews on here and I am so pleased. Spendor is very much an ‘Arden’ fragrance I get traces of 5th Avenue but it’s not as Green at the opening. If you can purchase a bottle for a reasonable (cheap) price do not be put off by that or the Blue box and bottle this is NOT a granny scent at all. Ideal for holidays to hot climates and travel. I recommend decanting into a refillable atomiser. Try it you will love it.

Quite lovely but despite the glut of notes described above I only pick up LOTV, magnolia and a hint of soap. It behaves differently depending on temperature: in summer I find it is sweet and powdery but in winter it is greener and crisper. It might not be innovative but at its inexpensive price it doesn’t have to be.

Sorry, I suppose this is gonna be a unpopular opinion, but the initial spray for me is a chemical burst of alcohol. I can smell some lily of the valley and wisteria. I bought it mainly for that note. It has nice silage and I am giving it a like, but cheap performance overall. Elizabeth Arden has much better fragrances.

Where was I before? Spring, sun, colourful fields of flowers, joy and serenity. I love this fragrance. To my nose it’s something between Envy and Flore. It makes me dream beautiful memories I never had. Hyacinth is very prominent and I adore it with all my heart. Yes it’s not Dior or Chanel. But… It doesn’t have to be for me to wear it. The price after all doesn’t have to determine the choice. Trust your nose only. So dream is – me wearing a light blue dress, looking up at the blue sky, breathing magical aroma and getting higher(above the earth lol) with every breath till slowly flying like a bird above those flower feelds…

The first spray of this is exactly like Giorgio Aire, I really couldn’t tell the difference between the two, but Splendor changes into a crisp fresh green fragrance, whereas Aire stays the same throughout. Nothing outstanding with Splendor, it’s safe, pleasant inoffensive and nice for everyday use, mainly in Spring, but it’s a bit generic for my liking, glad I’ve finally tried it and it was really cheap here in the UK but can’t say I would repurchase it.

This is a little gem of a perfume. Previously I would have passed off as I like my expensive perfumes but found this in my moms wardrobe and was pleasantly surprised. A very, very PRETTY and CHARMING fragerance. A lot of people give out that it looks old fashioned but this is what I LOVE about it as like all things a little vintage and retro. It’s an old perfume that is why you always see offers on it but by no means is it a cheap juice. It’s just really lovely. Smells like a meadow or walking through a garden of delicate white and pink flowers. Very feminine with a slight vintage feel which is a VERY good thing! Xoxo

Sorry for my english by the google translate. At first this
perfume smells only jasmine. It is a cheap perfume.
After a while it smells better and especially after washing
with water. It is mainly a summer fragrance with
good length. It is a medium quality perfume.

I forgot that I had this fragrance once. It was gifted to me and at the time I was pretty quick to judge fragrances and for whatever reason, I didn’t appreciate this one and it sat in a cabinet until I threw it away.
Looking over the notes, I’m pretty sure I’d like it today. if I’d kept the bottle, I’m not sure it would’ve become a favorite, but I would’ve used it often and used it up fast.
Announcement: I’ve just repurchased a 30ml bottle that would’ve been dirt cheap at 90 original DKkroner but I just bought it on sale for 54 kroner and I’m waiting for it to arrive in the mail (with my other beauty and skin care purchases) and I can’t wait to review it again but instead of leaving 2-3 new reviews, I might only leave a short update on this review and then write a new review at the end of Summer when I expect to have used the bottle up.

On my skin it is a refreshing, scintillating sophisticated scent that lasts over 8 hours with a sillage that is like a cloud, felt by everyone in the room but lightly. It is one of the best white flower scents, along with Diorissimo and Pure Poison to my taste. It is energizing, a mood lifter, sweet but not cloyingly so. I love gourmands as well as floral, spicy and green scents and the lack of love for Splendor mistifies me. People, expand your horizons, sometimes one scent from out of your comfort zone besides broadening your horizons may become a true love. And old ladies we will all become,if we are lucky ( because the alternative really sucks).
And, btw, this is expensive as well as difficult to get in Brazil, so it took a lot of trouble to get Splendor, but was totally worthy.

I feel like I should come in and defend this a bit from its own reputation..
I kept seeing this in TKMaxx and ignored it even though it was cheap as I didn’t like the look of the notes and it looked like a old fashioned mess that missed the glamour era I liked.
Ended up with it for a fiver and eventually opened it to find a youthful pretty fragrance that whilst being heavy on the Lily of the Valley, it is supported by some soft base notes and light floral. It might not move mountains and I dislike the blue box but it makes me feel pretty and clean!
As ever with Elizabeth Arden, it’s surprisingly good sillage and longevity and a bargain too.

Interestingly, this perfume smells very citrusy on me.
After about 30 minutes, it still doesn’t develop, but remain on the same notes which I would describe crispy white bed sheets soaked in lemon scent. It is strong, pungent, sour, sparkling.I also detect some flowers in the background, maybe peony and lily-of-the-valley.
But I don’t dislike it. I think I will indeed spray it on bed sheets to freshen them up.

Splendor was an internet ‘blind buy’ for me about 2 years ago and, as with my many other blind buys, I waited with baited breath for my parcel containing my bottle to arrive.
Luckily, Splendor turned out to be one of my best perfume buys and at such an incredible bargain price for a huge 125ml bottle of EDP! It’s a crisp, sheer type of floral / fruity scent that is SOOO incredibly feminine and womanly. It’s not dissimilar to a perfume such as Pleasures but, in my books, Splendor far outstrips the (overrated!!) Pleasures by miles. I find Pleasures incredibly annoying for some reason (not sure why but there’s at least one note in there that is very unpleasant to my nose!) and also very generically, and forgettably, floral. Splendor, on the other hand, is super charming, pretty and unforgettable. Even the apothecary type bottle with its little glass ball stopper is ore eye catching and less bland than the Pleasures bottle!
Contrary to what some reviewers seem to think, Splendor is ageless and is the type of perfume that could easily and happily be worn by women of all ages – teenagers to great-grandmothers – and because it’s so crisp, fresh and enervating it could put a spring in anyone’s step and make them feel fresh and youthful! Also, it’s an anytime, anyplace kind of perfume – dress it up, dress it down, and is ideal for an office environment because it won’t suffocate and nauseate colleagues and almost certainly will only garner compliments (especially from men!).
Splendor is a very lovely, high quality perfume with good sillage and great staying power. A little on me goes a long way and lasts for hours and hours – unlike many ‘high end’ perfumes, such as the lovely but quickly vanishing ‘Blooming Bouquet’ by Dior! I also have Arden Beauty which, just as with Splendor, smells gorgeous, high quality and lasts forever!
Life is too short to be snobby and averse to trying, and enjoying,’drugstore’ type perfumes. If Splendor was marketed under the Dior label, for example, what do you want to bet that women would be going crazy for it and would be buying it in their droves? So many people blindly follow everyone else, and what they think – and are told by fashion magazines, etc – they should like and aspire to. Those types of people need to be more independent and individual and do their own thing!
P.S. I’ve discovered that Splendor is also gorgeous layered with Al Aneeq ‘Baby Powder’ perfume oil (available on Amazon.uk for around £4.00 for a 10ml rollerball – so cheap but lovely!!). I just swipe some ‘Baby Powder’ on my wrist and spritz a little Splendor over the top and then gently rub my wrists together and rub a little on my neck and I’m good to go! The fragrance lasts all day and night and smells SOO good ! !

This fragrance is ELEGANCE in a bottle. I loved it from the moment I saw the box and the bottle. And I loved the ad. To me it’s just SPLENDID! Unfortunately, the new liquid is yellow when the old one was clear. Why couldn’t they keep the fragrance of the same colour? This is what happens when a fragrance gets reformulated…

This is my first lily of the valley perfume. So beautiful, and clean. This is different than any of my floral perfumes I own. I smell it most of the day. Its feminine and gorgeous!

    5 out of 5

I imagined splendor to be a sharp classic floral, something like estee lauder pleasure, which I also like, but don’t wear often..lily of Valley mostly appears really sharp on me,so when it’s dominant in a perfume,i prevent blindbuys
Splendor isn’t sharp at all,it’s a soft, delicate, fresh floral,a tad green, not too much, just like freshlycut florals, strong but not in a harsh way, clean but not soapy and sophisticated, but not old..it’s freshness is lovely..not an aquatic or green freshness,it’s about fresh, young flower petals and fruits
I love the opening part, crispy, fresh fruits blend gorgeously with florals,I can only detect some apple and a citrus note, which is not sour or zest and appears almost like linden blossom in combination with other notes,,floral part is comprised of my beloved ones, hyacinth, wisteria, lily, freesia and thanks God a non sharp lily of Valley
Woodsy notes in dry down don’t turn it to a rough scent, they just stand there in background to support this lovely flower garden
I find it versatile, wearable and good for +25 years old..splendor is not a boring linear soapy classic floral,it’s a sparkling, delicate but not watery floral fruity..longevity and sillage are moderate.. I really wished it was more long-lasting and projecting
    Edit:
I saved my decant for spring but unfortunately now I don’t like it as much as I did.honestly it’s totally different with what I remember it to be.it’s not as fresh and I can’t detect much fruits or citruses.now I completely agree with below review.it’s a combination of florals and woody notes and I can detect a strong rosewood note(I know it from dior dune).this woodyness gives it a dry, mature and deep quality which make it stand out from typical springy florals and be more sophisticated and memorable
I still see it as a recommendable perfume, wearable year round and has very good quality while being affordable and has better longevity and sillage than my previous experience but I don’t like it.after couple of unsuccessful experiences I know that I can’t get along well with such woody florals so I’ll remove it from my wantlist.my decant is more than enough for me

  29. :

    3 out of 5

I’m finding the woodsiness is coming through really fighting the florals in this but that’s fine cause I like woods so much, it must be the Brazilian rosewood that I’m finding the uniqueness in this that I can’t put my finger on what it could be I haven’t smelled before, very intriguing. The pineapple is noticeable as it dries down, and I do detect the wisteria (thanks to owning Desperate Housewives!) amber and musk, yes! love! At first spray I was worried this was just another fruity floral but after ten minutes this baby sure shows her feisty personality alright, she’s a keeper!
Edit – after having put this away for the winter and now in late spring, wearing this again, I am kind of amazed that I’m finding the sandalwood really coming through prominently this time around! I don’t know why, maybe because it sat undisturbed for many months, but this is giving it a really nice unexpected twist. I was almost going to give this away trying to pare down my ever growing collection, but nope, keeping it for sure. It seems to have gotten stronger too, or maybe my allergies are just under better control.

Love EA fragrances like Red Door and 5th Avenue and Provocative Woman and I wanted to love this one, but my old foe lily of the valley fouls things up yet again. This is almost identical to the current formulation of Laura Ashley and although they smell pretty and maybe even unisex they both give me terrible migraines. If you like crisp green borderline sharp fragrances this is the one for you. If they hadn’t gone with cheap materials for the topper I’d keep this just for the bottle but this little hooker is going back to TJ MAXX to exchange this for Kenzo Flower by Kenzo

Could this be a sleeper winter scent?
I tried Splendor many years ago and dismissed it as it seemed too heady for me. I decided to try it again after seeing the notes on Fragrantica, as I wanted to try a perfume with LOTV.
It’s winter in Melbourne, and I was expecting to be disappointed by trying a spring perfume out of season, but instead Splendor is working out surprisingly well in the cold!
The florals are light but with the warmth provided by the woody, amber base they’re rugged up enough for winter wear. I think the green, spicy notes give it a retro feel which makes me think of some of the 70’s green florals. Sometimes I do wish the pineapple wasn’t quite so strong to my nose but it’s doesn’t overpower the other notes.
I like the apothecary-style bottle. I think it adds to the no-nonsense charm of this perfume. I’m glad I gave it a second chance.

I love this beautiful sweet, fresh, green florally perfume. I would like it to be a bit stronger, and last a bit longer, but I certainly don’t mind putting regular top-ups on during the day! Beautiful and fresh, I love Elizabeth Arden. And I love the changes it goes through as the day goes on. All lovely light, fresh scents.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

If you are looking for a non-sweet floral, this is it! It is not at all fruity nor sweet-floral. Refreshing and green.

  37. :

    5 out of 5

I purchased this after reading the notes and decided this would be a nice change from the usual fruity-sweet scents I’m sometimes drawn to. I picked this up on sale at TJ Maxx for $6 (boy do I love TJ Maxx!) and I couldn’t be happier.
This is no doubt, very feminine to me. It’s a soft floral, yes, but I find that it has a good amount of longevity and strength to it. I mainly get greens and white florals, and just the tiniest bit of the apple and pineapple. I think the lily of the valley comes through the most for me, but all the notes blend quite nicely.
I don’t think this smells “mature” at all. Whether a young lady in her early 20’s or a young at heart lady in her 80’s wears this, I think it’s fitting for all.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

Splendor’s notes read like it should be as flowery as Beautiful or very powerful in the 80s 90s powerhouse sort of way but the chemist who put this together performed a magic trick because it’s like a sweet whisper and not a loud scream. The scent opens with a fruity note of pineapple although other non floral scents appear very quickly like a sweet pea and an apple. I would say the apple is very prominent. Then the scent lingers and lasts for a long time in a garden of flowers that are each trying to get your attention: magnolia my favorite flower always gets my attention. There’s hyacinth, rose, lily, poppy, orchid, jasmine and lily of the valley. Each flower is pretty detectable on it’s own and not one flower is more dominant than the other. Flowers for days but again so quiet and very wearable as a day time inoffensive scent to wear to work or wherever. People love how it smells on me and want to hug me. The dry down is woodsy, just woods. Beautifully crafted, long lasting, sweet fruity floral with an elegance and romance that has become a hallmark of Estee Lauder perfumery.

  39. :

This does have a harshness to it, but it’s not the godawful cheapo musk bugspray harsh that ruins so many modern fragrances.
It’s more of a “they didn’t use enough aromachemicals” thinness harsh.
Vetiver isn’t listed in the notes, but I get a vetiver-like “cigarette butt” waft. Smells like the old-school ashtray note I like, paired with lily of the valley. The lily isn’t cloying, but it does have a slightly chemical edge.
As an earlier reviewer said, that’s pretty much it.
Seems like Arden probably skimped on ingredients. A little bit of roundness and sweetness (floral, not sugar) would have filled this out nicely.
At least I’m not picking up Iso E, bugspray or cotton candy tho.

When I was a 10-year-old child, my mother used to wear this. whenever she wore it, she turned into a princess with yellow sparkling dress in my view, who was carrying a basket full of magical flowers. After about 14 years, I found this magical fragrance in an online shopping website yesterday. and Now, this is here with me and again, I am able to see a glorious princess dancing inside the bottle. It has shot me to my childhood days. I have given this to my mother and she got shocked when she saw it. Here to our home, has come back a young princess with yellow sparkling dress carrying a basket full of magical flowers!
A bottle full of sweet-floral memories.
This is a masterpiece made by James Krivda. Pure elegance in a bottle ! Splendor is a soft, relatively warm, delicate floral fragrance with moderate longevity and moderate sillage!

    Hmmm…. reminiscent of Waterford Lismore.
I already own that scent, so this one I shan’t be keeping. I personally don’t find it as pretty as Lismore, because the freesia note overtakes the rest of the perfume whereas with Lismore, the freesia is strident for the first 15-20 minutes before settling down into a luscious floral bouquet.
Lismore also has better sillage and longevity. After 30 minutes, EA Splendor turns into a faint skin scent.
    What amber? What sandalwood?

So many reviews! Confused it can be considered light. Lots of notes here. Very floral/white floral. Find it rather heavier than light. Matter of fact, me feels this may be good for colder weather because of its floral heft. I am not sure about wearing this much of the garden in summer. Might prefer something more truly tropical or minimal. Saying this because was going to save it for spring. Maybe this was fresh and light for 1998 but not so much for 2016. If anything, just goes to show you .. different strokes for different folks. Denise Richards which I reviewed earlier is lighter than this and it’s a Gardenia. The more fumes I experience the less I pay attention to suggested time of year, age or words like ‘feminine’ and ‘masculine’. Really, to me it’s how you wear it. Worthy buy if your cup of tea.

If I didn’t research before writing this review, I would have thought that Splendor was the predecessor to 5th Avenue by ten to fifteen years. I interpret Splendor as having been around for longer. Is that the packaging and marketing playing with me? The reality is that 5th was released two years before Splendor hit the shelves.
On me, they are very similar. However, I love 5th Avenue and only like Splendor.
Nice, creamy, soapy, floral-y heart. The dry-down sneaks out the back door to avoid the crowd. Office appropriate, I would think.
    Sillage: Soft to Moderate
    Longevity: Moderate
Wear: Spring perhaps mild Summer during the day

This goes on me like slightly sour florals, not an entirely pleasant scent. I suppose that’s the pineapple and apple, but more soursob on me than tropical.
I like it a lot better once it settles into its woodsy basenotes, still keeping a lingering hint of florals. Still, not an autobuy for me even at its low, low price, and even with its pretty bottle. The only thing that made it memeorable for me was
