I would prefer it made an impression on me but it didnt.
Kind of rose and lightly powdery smell that fades after 1 h.
    Forgettable.

Fresh, light, citrusy-rosy scent. I was expecting more on the rose side. It is a nice, feminin, happy fragrance, but not a groundbreaking one, probably the weakest one of the Splendida line. Plus side is that it does not get soapy, remains crisp, fresh. Unfortunately silage and longevity is nowhere. It fades away after max 2 hours, which is a quite disappointing considering the brand and the price tag.
I bought it after testing at the airport – which is the last time I did this. Is it only me that most perfums smells lovely at the airport duty free and at home it becomes totally different?

Ok, so the Jasmin Splendida didn’t work for me so what about the Rose Splendida. Surely they cant all smell bad on me. It was true. It didn’t smell bad. It just smelt…… light, fragrant. A bit wishy washy. It was ok but I have my Annick Goutal rose scent, and that is a delicate rose, that doesn’t have any sharpness. There’s no downside with Annick Goutal and the price point is fairly similar so…..not for me.

It doesn’t smell much like Rose Essentielle to me, except that both are rose scents. Splendida Rose Rose is really really LOW sillage. Like…I can barely smell it. Maybe I’m anosmic to the musk? It smells like the pink rose, and a tiny bit of musk, and then – poof, it’s gone!

Is nice. that’s all.Just above suttle. I usually wear this earlier in the morning and need to reapply by noon.
I had the original one, I like it better.

Could anyone explain the difference between Bvlgari Rose Essentielle and Rose Spendida? By the difference in the actual smell, not just the notes ( I can read the difference) but, actually I was wondering which one is nicer?

Very feminine rosy perfume. Uplifting, light, tender, elegant and luxurious. It have bit refreshing vibe not in a too soapy way. Bit warm due to musk, but not dark or cloying at all. I usually dislike vetiver and patchouli and I can still separate these notes in this perfume, but here they are mixed nicely and only add to perfume. I might wish that there wouldn’t be patchouli, but fair enough it’s nice perfume. At least for me this isn’t true rose scent, rose is not only note here. Overall it seems bit synthetic, but not bad.
For spring and not very hot summer.
    Day and evening.
For feminine, elegant, not loud/bold woman 25+.

Beautiful. It opens on me as a lemony fruity rose scent. I actually grow some roses with this fruity smell. Uncanny.
Who knew the juicy fresh blackberry note would go so well with rose. There is also a little juicy natural sweet orange. It is a light and creamy scent. The musk is soft and lush.
Further down the timeline and you can just about detect a touch of patch and Vetiver.
A wonderful, sparkling, grown up rose scent. My only disappointment is the weak longevity and sillage.

Very delicate and feminine pink roses with a hint of musk.
So wonderful light roses fragrance. Like Rose Essentielle.
    I like it:)
If I didn’t have Rose by Paul Smith, which smells very alike, I would buy it. Yes, I think that I will but it later.
So tender! The best pink rose I’ve ever tried in fragrances.
    My favorite from the line.

Amazing!!!, if you ever thought that rose essentielle was too powdery and somehow a little dated, this is the best option. Its a modern take on a rose centered edp, but remaning bvlgari classic, so delicious because of the blackberry note in the opening and so comforting due to the soft slightly powdery rose you can detect throught its entire existence. Finally youll feel in this expensive amazing rose cloud wearing it. Great proyection and longevity.

    Versatile, expensive, exquisite Rose.
Usually not a rose lover, this one smells comfortable and cheerful. Very nice balance.

I wanted to give this fragrance another chance as I still can’t believe that they have kept the bottle, almost the same name and swapped the juice with a new one. So, yesterday I have tried this again, generously spraying my forearm, first directly on the skin and then on my cardigan hoping that the scent would last longer on fabric. After one hour all I could smell was a faint rosewater scent. A nice rose soliflore, though very generic, and very very faint. I had to put my nose directly on the fabric.
So, not only they destroyed this fragrance with the reformulation but they have also dramatically diluted the concentration of pure perfume in what they call EDP but still charge an outrageous price for it.
I won’t buy any new Bvlgari anymore.

Although Bvlgari swears that no reformulation has occurred and that Rose Essentielle has undergone a name change and a bottle alteration only, I am very skeptical. Splendida Rose Rose smells very different to my nose.
Many will dislike me for saying this, but I actually enjoy this reformulation. Splendida Rose Rose is a sweet, garden-fresh rose scent on my skin, devoid of any harsh, disruptive accords.
Quite often I crave a simplistic rose fragrance without the jammy-ness and the additional patchouli thrown in for good measure. Splendida Rose Rose is just that; a basic, pretty in pink rose fragrance with sweet blackberry and a powdery musk and sandalwood drydown.
It’s a comfortable, inoffensive Spring scent, just what I’m looking for when it comes to my future wedding day fragrance. I look forward to testing this fragrance further and sampling more rose scents as opposed to the traditional bridal-appropriate white florals.
I didn’t find Splendida Rose Rose at all disappointing in regards to its sillage and longevity. Although I enjoyed the now discontinued Rose Essentielle, Splendida Rose Rose is far more promising as a fragrance that could potentially be added to my growing collection.

Unfortunately I ran out of my Rose Essentielle perfume and somehow I could not find it anywhere only to find out from a SA that that version is discontinued. She did however claim that this was the new version. She told me it smelled exactly the same only the box packaging and name changed. I was beyond excited to find it again only to be disappointed by the difference of the beautiful Rose Essentielle and Splendida Rose Rose…
Firstly, how stupid is the name ? Splendida Rose Rose ?! Secondly, it smelled nothing like Rose Essentielle (RE), which was stunning, crisp, beautiful true rose and incredibly long lasting. This one is a very poor, wannabe copy of it. The crisp and clean rose is nowhere to be detected like in RE. This one is way more fruity making it a more young fragrance. Far not as classy. I wish I never spend my money on this new version. I guess to some it is a good fragrance when not compared to RE, but the old version remains in my heart. I hope to find it again one day and perhaps if Bvlgari was smart and listening to its buyers it would bring it back too. It is sad that many perfume houses would change the formulation and stick a new name on a bottle to make profit. It seems careless and not much effort was put into it… This is exactly why I am discovering more and more niche perfume brands as they are much more unique and different than the big perfume brands, which I have been disappointed by over and over again…

    @Wooster
…however, the original Declaration is still intact and in production. Hence the difference.
Bulgari did the same with Jasmin Noir. So many flankers. But you do not annul your originals and replace them with weaker versions of them. Even Versace doesn’t do that sort of thing and they are pretty trashy and sloppy about the way they do business in cosmetics.
And this is not even a situation like Opium and what they had to do with it. Nothing in these perfumes were allergenic or animal based!

@pasha ,Cartier have made many watered down versions of declaration ,as a way of bringing out new fragrances ,not many houses stick to there original perfumes anymore ,which is sad ,not a lot of originality

lol, what an imbecilic decision by Bulgari.
This is why you cannot respect this brand the way you respect Cartier. It is so pitiful to throw out your three staple blue chip perfumes that you’ve built your entire beauty department upon and dilute them down to a nothingness, just to say you’ve released new fragrances!
The new bottles are uglier, the new juices are weaker, the new names are lamer.
You’ve replaced a stunning name that elegantly rolls off the tongue like Rose Essentielle with ‘Rose Rose’? lol, what the hell is a Rose Rose? The name of your cat? Are you calling to give her her dry food?
They should have kept the original three untouched, expand the line with newer and equally spectacular fragrances, bring back the original Omnia, and build a solid signature line little by little which people can actually respect.
This is why people think Bulgari has turned into a complete joke of a brand. Pass!

I totally agree with Tiara76. Why did they do this to such a beautiful and unique scent such a Rose Essentielle? Now it is a generic rose scent, without personality, depth and sillage.
I could spray the old one on one wrist and the new on the other and I could have started crying. The new is like a watered down version of the old without the sensual creaminess of the old, just a light rosey, powdery something, something reminiscent of Stella EDT.
I also can’t smell any freshness, only something sharp at the end.
Why didn’t they release this scent as a seasonal flanker and call it “Rose Delicate” or “Rose Light” and keep the old in the range?

I am disappointed and confused. I loved Rose Essentielle and I could understand why suddenly when I wanted to buy another one I could not find it anywhere (literally anywhere, I travel a lot..) then few months ago I had luck finding a bottle 100 ml in Dubai airport … yesterday i tried the new one and looks like a washed out version of rose essentielle. that is unbelievable. Why?

  21. :

    3 out of 5

Hm… This must be a very body chemistry dependent perfume. In Germany Rose essentielle is still readily available and to my nose that one is lighter. Rose Rose is a beautiful, natural smelling pinkish rose (not deep red). A little powder, a little patch and spice. Some fruits to lift the mood. Very beautiful and natural smelling! Sillage and longevity on me is huge and also on paper – I tested it on Saturday and am sitting at my desk now, wondering what smells so good. It was the strip in my bag! 🙂 Apart from Goldea and Omnia Paraiba I love all their scents 🙂 If you like Stella you might also like this, I think.

Fresh, light, citrus, clean rose scent, subtle and lovely. Delicacy in a bottle. I like it very much, but it is too jammy for me.
    The bottle looks just great.

I can’t understand why to discontinue a beautiful perfume like Essentielle and place an other similar one with no sillage and longevity. It’s just a worsening of quality of the product. Dear Bulgari, are you envying Guerlain?

  24. :

    5 out of 5

This is very very light fruity rose scent.
I’m afraid, it doesn’t have much of a sillage.
Pleasant and nice, but kind of boring as well.
An everyday fragrance, but not marketed like that. It should be more fancy, considering those bottles and the fact that it’s Bvlgari.

I do not usually go for rose kn a fragrance as it often makes me feel older and more conservative than I am, especially paired with musk, woods, powder it can easily be suffocating. So I am not so very familiar with rose centered perfumes. However this seems to me a perfect act of balance, portraying the scent of a rose or rose water rather than rose oil. This without turning into ozone or calone freshness land or sacrificing projection. It is tender but present.Lovely and romantic. As for longevity I usually do not have problems and it stayed on until next shower so at the least not one of those that disappears very fast.

beautiful and soft. sillage is nothing to write home about – neither is longevity.
it is not identical to bvlgari’s discontinued rose essentielle edp, but they are very obviously related. if you miss rose essentielle, give this one a try (though essentielle could boast monstrous longevity with its 69% concentration). rose essentielle is, perhaps, a bit fresher and more dewy than this new perfume, but… i would not call this one inferior or cheap or synthetic.
splendida is natural-smelling and the notes listed, i find, give a pretty good idea as to what it smells like (which, in my opinion is a rare occurrence). except that patchouli is not at all detectable which makes it different from the bestselling patchouli-rose perfumes of the last decade (jhag lady vengeance, the new narciso and everything in between). i get the berries, mandarin orange and rose. base is yet to show itself apart from the musk. despite this simplicity, it is ladylike and not at all primitive. if i did not have rose essentielle, i would go for this, no doubt. since i have essentielle, i shall just take note of it as a beautiful perfume in a lovely bottle suitable for giving as a gift.
