Description

Spice and Wood is the second release in Creed‘s Royal Exclusives line. Less than 500 bottles of this limited edition unisex scent will be released.

The legendary love story of Cleopatra and Marc Antony inspired Spice and Wood, which celebrates the treasures of Europe and the Orient. The fragrance is presented in a Pochet glass decanter etched with the CREED family crest, topped with a sculptural cap.

Spice and Wood opens with aromas of Italian bergamot, Egyptian lemon and aromatic apples. Middle notes reveal Angelica root, rose, clove, desert peppers, patchouli and white birch. The composition finishes with a trail of cedar, Egyptian iris, oak moss and musk. Spice and Wood was launched in 2010. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Creed Sixth Generation.

This was on my list of top 5 creed fragrances ever. It’s a very simple one to review because it’s exactly what the name says, Spices & Woods.
Of course there are many supportive notes to make it classy and elegant. You have Lemon, Bergamot, and Apple for freshness while Musk, Cedar, Pepper, Oakmoss, and Birch are the core. It’s quite enjoyable. This has one of the best presentations when it comes to it’s bottle, just a delight to behold. The fragrance is not a beast but hangs on for a very long time, creating a nice bubble around you. Super expensive so sample first for sure.

Royal Oud is better in every way: smell, price, projection, longevity. I don’t understand the obsession over this

A spicy and woody aromatic where the composition is unique , but the smell overall isn’t.
It is reminiscent of good aromatics and has well blended but noticeable spice and wood, like the name says.
One of the few fragrances that had a straightforward name and was true to that name.
I personally do think fragrance is slightly elegant, but not elegant or beautiful enough to be unique or special.
Another creed where the price is not justified to me
Younger noses should go for spicebomb, most people should go for Bvlgari man in black and niche heads will go for darker woody spicy scents likely.
    Please sample before buying

Extremely poor longevity. Nothing specific. Does not worth the money. Poor overall quality.

Woody – fresh spicy – salty fruity
    Color impression: transparent gray
Spice and Wood is a quintessential woody spicy fragrance that simply borrows two of men’s most favorable olfactory groups to come up with an old school masculine masterpiece.
An air-weighted spice accord paired with delightful metallic green apple initiates the fragrance and settles into a tad salty fruity woodiness formed by leathery bitterness of birch tar and cedar. Elements of absolute masculine gentry.
So posh, so classy, modern, soothing and refined. It’s a masterpiece.

I’m currently on my 3rd decant… I’ve never felt justified in splashing the cash on a full bottle, but it’s a scent that I like to enjoy occasionally.
Now I’m a little more familiar with it, it’s apparent that any Creed that leads with a Citrus note, doesn’t really smell great on my skin. Forget the apples and bergamot, I smell like a sherbet lemon at the opening (I smell like a can of Lilt when wearing Aventus, so it’s definitely a common theme).
The lemon is powdery and a little bright for me, but as the cedar/clove kicks in, there’s nothing quite like it, I get that ‘nostalgic high’ that all great fragrances seem to deliver.
£300+ for a bottle? No chance. Performance is poor. This is a skin sent, make no mistake, and it’s all but gone in an hour. – I wonder if I could get my hands on some moonshine oak moss whether this might be 10x the fragrance it currently is.
I’ll continue to buy the odd decant, but only so I can sit at home enjoying it, this is not something that will work for any significant occasion unless you’re hugging lots of people and you put it on 10 minutes before ‘going in’.
In fact, if you like the dry down, Viking delivers something similar and seems to enjoy better longevity, so I’d go for that if you want a derivative of S&W that’s actually worth wearing.
I’ve probably tried all of the Creed fragrances now, and to me, Royal Oud, Virgin Island Water and Aventus (original batch – less pineapple, more smoke) are the only scents that truly live up to the price tag, the rest are a bit meh!

After collecting for a few years, I have explored over 500 fragrances, and have been able to purchase my top 100.
Spice and Wood, was the last one I said I would eventually buy when I retire, to cap off my completed collection. The price is one thing holding me back, but now you can find deals for under $300.
I ordered a couple carded samples to refresh my memory on how good, or not, Spice and Wood is.
I just happened to be wearing Creed Vetiver Geranium, when my Spice Wood came in, so I’m also doing a side by side.
Vetiver Geranium is 1/3 the price, has better projection, is more fruity. S and W is more woody, cedar mostly, and is more sophisticated. Both have equally nice fresh openings.
I don’t think I will ever purchase Spice and Wood, it’s a very nice fragrance, and I would get it if it was, say 1/2 the price. It just is not very very special, as Frederic Malle French Lover is!
Spice and Wood is very good, and is close too French Lover, but clearly lacks the depth and richness of French Lover, which is my #1 signature fragrance, and is worth every penny; still very expensive, but less than Spice and Wood.
Not worth having both, French Lover is the superior, better performance as well.
Please try Frederic Malle Boise de Orage or under the old name, French Lover.
PS: I think now Spice and Wood was trying to copy Frederic Malle’s classic, “French Lover”; which came out in 2007, three years earlier. They both share the piquant note of Angelica, with the fresh and moist, spicy woods. French Lover has more Angelica, and it also has an unlisted Iris nuance. From the mid-drydown S and W is 90% the same as French Lover, with weaker sillage.

My Number 1 fragrance of all-time, Spice and Wood presents a fantastic, realistic apple note over alluring, spicy notes of cedar and birch. What makes Spice and Wood so impressive and enjoyable to me is the crisp clarity with which it conveys these accords and the warm, almost sensual touch that accents its woods. I find the performance to be fine: 6 to 8 hours with good projection. This one doesn’t scream, but it has a nice presence and its projection is appropriately calibrated for this style of scent. Due to its crispness, Spice and Wood is fairly versatile, and can be worn all year around without a problem. It’s elegant but extremely comfortable, classy and rich without the slightest pretense. If you’re a fan of Aventus, Terre d’Hermes, and masculine woods in general, it’s definitely worth checking out Spice and Wood. Creed’s best offering, in my opinion. Final rating: 10/10.

I tested a 3ml sample for $20! Yep, 20 bucks for about 6 sprays. Thus, enough for a full wearing. Here’s my verdict…
    VALUE:
To me, it’s not worth the $500+ price tag for a full bottle. If it was around the $100 price that would be more in my ballpark of what I’d be willing to pay.
    SCENT:
Lots of cedar and a dry spice. Reminds me of Quorum Silver which is also cedar dominated with perhaps a lighter/crisper version of One Man Show Gold (due to the apple, clove, spices). However, lacking the musky (dried urine) kind of note in OMSG, which is a good thing. In fact, I’m thinking of layering OMSG and Quorum Silver to see if I can create a poor man’s Spice & Wood for about $30!
    OVERALL:
I’m more into masculine scents which my wife prefers on me as well, and this is clearly what it’s marketed to be – unisex. It’s loved by a lot of people (men and woman) and I can understand that because it’s very pleasant.
    CREED COMPARISON:
I own full bottles of GIT, Aventus and my pride and joy Green Valley. All of which I prefer over Spice & Wood, and to me, all 3 are a much better value their original price. GIT and Green Valley are currently my 2 favorite fragrances in my 240 fragrance collection. In fact, nothing comes close.

Cedar monster… again, another creed hyped frag but again another let down. Longevity & sillage is weak… I just don’t get this hype… In a world full of true masterpieces…. why hype this crap? Cause it’s Creed? I got to learn to stop this inanity of blind buying based on hype… ARH!
Update**** I’m an idiot…. The only thing I need to stop doing is judging a frag without giving it a chance. The dry down on this stuff is incredible. It really changed & man I don’t know what happened but I LOVE THIS FRAG. WOW is it addictive. It kind of reminds me of Creeds Viking but without a few notes like the driftwood & sea salt… Let this stuff dry down a good hour or so…. it’s heavenly!

    I received my official sample…..
Make sure to read thoroughly to fully understand where I am coming from.
Disclaimer: I suck at determining notes so don’t hold me to it.
I was very skeptic when I first sprayed. I expected a very “old man” smell. Lets just say I was surprised….in a good way.
Immediately I smelled all the citruses listed, but mainly apples. My initial thought was, “This is very similar to Viking”…. with the bold fragrant citruses!
A few minutes later I get apples and birch. Now, at this point, the thoughts that came into my mind was, “WOW” this reminds me of Aventus. I thought I was straight up nuts, so I had to look up others’ reviews. A couple people mentioned Aventus so I know I am not too, too crazy.
A few minutes after the Aventus stage, I keep smelling Terre d’Hermes….but not quite as dry and dull.
This is quite the adventurous ride for me as I LOVE Viking & Aventus.
The dry down is EXACTLY what the name suggests. The reason why I love it is because its not extremely dry. The fruits save it. I get fruits, birch and cedar. Its just enough balance to make it appropriate for almost all ages.
Unfortunately I am a little stuffed up, so in all fairness, I won’t comment on Sillage and Longevity.
    OVERALL:
    – Smell – 9/10
    – Quality 10/10
The quality is absolutely gorgeous. This is masculine all the way. I can honestly say this is Creed Viking, Creed Aventus, and Terre d’Hermes all mixed in one….but don’t hold me to it!

  13. :

    3 out of 5

Some fresh apple in the opening, drying down to a pretty straightforward and uncomplex spicy/woody scent as advertised. Gives me quite a similar vibe to Hermes’ Poivre Samarcande. Very pleasant, very high-quality smelling. Performance is mild.
    Worth over $500?
    NO. F#&%*NG. WAY. IN. HELL.
If you wanna smell like dry spices and spend $500 less, get Spicebomb.

  14. :

    3 out of 5

Spice and Wood, unlike other modern Creeds, appears more natural smelling with a burst of peppery translucent apples tinged with lemon, and moving quickly to a mid phase of spiced woods with a dose of cedar. There is angelica, but no galbanum. The dry down is soft woods, with a musky element and a faint sweetness.
Among woody fragrances by Creed, Spice and Wood, while having an absurd price, comes across as less substantial than Bois du Portugal or Royal Oud, and is surprisingly fleeting, becoming a skin scent within an hour and lasting all of four hours. Malle’s French Lover is a more interesting woody scent of similar profile, albeit more green.
    2.5/5 (neutral)

  15. :

    4 out of 5

Tried Spice and Wood a few times (sample sprayer).
It starts out quite perfumy, as if the basenotes of a few Creed scents where put together (MI, SMW). In fact, it seems like it is just basenotes that I smell. There is not so much a specific direction.
It is quite pleasant however, nondescript though.
After a while it gets better. While most fragrances start out fresh and then turn warm, S&W starts out perfumy and then turns fresh. I smell fresh, luxuruous woody notes, really pleasant.
Longevity is very good, I’m 9 hours after my sprays and it is still going strong.

Wow the bottle is awesome! Beautiful presentation on the packaging and bottle, props to Creed for that.
I like this stuff better when I catch wafts of it on other wearers passing me by. Smells citrusy, spicy, refined. Smelling it on myself it’s more potent and it’s a hit/miss when I wore it. This may sound absurd but, sometimes this stuff evoked thoughts of those white latex gloves that a dentist would use when working on my teeth. It sometimes came across almost rubbery to me. Anyway I ended up selling my bottle and was fortunate enough to make more than what I spent on it. Peculiar how that worked out – bought new, sold used at a profit. I guess there is one good thing that came from Creed constantly raising their prices.

In parts Aqua Di Gio Profumo and Terre D Hermes. Cedar is very good quality. Rest is average. Jardin D Amalfi beats this one by a Millenia in terms of craftsmanship and blending. Its a dry peppery woody fragrance with dominant pininess and hints of Aventus Iso E. Great projection and longevity. Deserves to be in a 100ml bottle for 120 USD. No Kidding. I own and love many Creeds.

  18. :

    4 out of 5

The title already says very clearly what we are going to find, there is no surprise.
The fresh entry of bergamot and lemon joins a nice note of sugary sour apple, soft but very nice.
Then the spices, pepper, clove and the note of angelica that adds some character and a touch of spice to the fragrance are shown, here the iris note is detected, which brings a breeze, stuck in the air, which, together with the wood of A dominant cedar dry and warm this forest, so much that a burned point, also smoked by the birch, the final drying of moss and musk are shown with the character of a slightly sweet vegetable tan with an acid point .
I do not know, but the composition does not seem anything to me of the other world, besides the power is quite light and if this is united an astronomical price I do not think that compensates the purchase.

Very nice woody fragrance, with incredibly good performance (12+ hours and still going strong!) Personally, I can’t smell any of the fruits listed in the notes, regardless, the Birch/Cedar/Pepper combination is nice. Probably my 2nd favourite of the Les Royales Exclusives range (behind Jardin d’Amalfi).
As nice as it is, there is no way I’d pay £320 for 75ml.

  20. :

Spice… and wood. And that’s all folks. Don’t get me wrong, this is a good, pleasant fragrance. But it lacks character and performance. On my skin, it lasts about 3 hours before it starts to quickly fade.
While I am generally a big fan of Creed, the price for this fragrance is laughable considering that I can get any number of woody spicy fragrances with better character and performance for a fifth the price – such as Tom Ford Extreme.
Perfectly balanced, perfectly acceptable, inoffensive and pleasant. But extremely overpriced and fairly basic. I’ll pass.

  21. :

    3 out of 5

No way am I gonna pay £320 for 75ml. This is exorbitant.I went to and sampled this. Creed Fragrances have a tendency to go off very quickly too. They soon smell rancid and aldehyde like with a someone sweating down onions with in months. Only buy Creed Fragrances from a reputable store. But having said that buy them in small bottles and not the bigger ones. Even when kept in a dark cold place they deteriorate quickly.

  22. :

    4 out of 5

No question that this fragrance smells good, and the performance is excellent. However, in my opinion Terre d’Hermes does the same thing for about 1/10th the cost and just as much quality. Not saying they smell the same (they don’t) but they both would perform the same function in my wardrobe.

  23. :

    4 out of 5

Caught this one by surprise a couple days ago! I honestly thought this was only available in France, but I guess I was wrong.
Looking at all the Creed frags in the store, I noticed about 4-5 of them with no exotic colorful label/bottle like the rest have. I was looking at the Royal Exclusive collection. With all the others like sublime vanille, pure white cologne, etc. I immediately sprayed this on my forearm and could right away get whiffs of spice and wood. Exactly like it is. I find this scent is very true to the name. It reminds me of an old abandoned forest, and in the distance, a burnt out fire, but without the smoke scent. Just the burning wood smell.
Price point, not a chance would I buy a bottle of this. Longevity was Meh, lasted a few hours, became a skin scent then vanished. However regardless, still an overall great scent, just not worth the price!

  24. :

    3 out of 5

If this was cheaper, and had a better longevity,i would wear this day in day out. Subtle but gorgeous fragrance. Expected a bomb but completely the opposite. Alas, Creed are ridiculously expensive.Love it but not THAT (££££££££) much.

  25. :

    3 out of 5

Spice and Wood opens like a burst of fruity (apple/bergamot) juice in a betutiful concotion with the birch wood. Pleasant opening, but IMO the thing happens when it dries down. The fragrance become a sexy, mature mix of cedar, clove, spices and the birch remains, fruity notes kinda disappear after 2 hours or so, not for youngstas. Beautiful fragrance, but way overpriced and unaffordable. If you like it and have some spare money, go for it! Maybe I grab a split in the future…

  26. :

    5 out of 5

This one is perfectly okay, but nothing more in my opinion. Largely cedar / birch orientated, with not a whole lot in the way of spice – a somewhat mature fragrance, and one that projects itself very subtly. I get the impression this would be an excellent autumn (or even winter) office / day time scent. Works well with a nice shirt and pants, but it is just a little too understated and a little too familiar for the pricetag.
My girlfriend really liked this one on me, however I wasn’t overly impressed. Again, it’s not a bad scent by any means, but it’s not great either.

  27. :

    3 out of 5

Fall in a bottle! Woods and apples. I get a little bit of spice, but was surprised at how prominent that apple note is. Comes off as candy like when I wear it. Perfect for work, holidays, or other semi-formal to formal events. I wouldn’t wear this casually. The downside to this fragrance, for me, is its versatility. If I owned this I would hardly ever wear it. I would only wear it in the fall, and maybe a bit in the winter, and for that price tag and size of bottle, I would prefer to buy something that I would wear year round. Now, if you want to wear this year around, by all means go for it.

One of my favorites from the casa of Creed. This is a masculine scent that devours everything in near sight. It is a simple yet sophisticated masterpiece. The woodsy elements blended with the spices give this fragrance a smoky twist but it still remains fresh and clean. There are of course other segments which contribute to the play of Spice and Wood but the main components are the spices and the woods hence the name. Linear as linear can be and that is perfectly fine with me. It is just too delicious to ignore. An evening into night out scent for sure. Longevity and projection hmmmm, you be the juez of that. Good job Mr. Creed.

A Royal Exclusive,Spice and Wood is offered in a collectible.
It’s my favorite from the Creed house.
it smells realy beautiful with woody, fresh spicy, citrus scents.
certainly it opens with aromas of Italian bergamot but
    It’s not heavy.
    projection is well.
Longevity on me for this one lasts about 8 hours.
it’s a perfect scent with a perfect name.

After my last already very positive review of Creed’s Spice and Wood, I’d now like to add that this has become my absolute all-time favorite fragrance for men! NOTHING compares. Now if only he sillage were more powerful and the longevity much greater.
This is THE MASTERPIECE in the world of designer perfumes. 20/20!

  31. :

    4 out of 5

Very similar to Bois D’Orage by Malle, albeit more smooth and versatile. Both are very masculine, but could be worn by both sexes without issue. I’m not sure it’s worth the price tag though, especially with the new upcoming packaging with the gold accents applied to the bottles. I’d rather pay for the fragrance sans marketing $$$.

  32. :

    3 out of 5

Creed’s Spice and Wood, the name fairly describes the fragrance. You get subtle spices and wood. It’s a really good smelling sophisticated scent, but subtle. Longevity is excellent at 10+ hours, but projection is fairly weak. I do not know if I’ve ever received a compliment with this one, because it is very subtle. It has a big price tag too. I would consider it much better if it were a bit more affordable, but still a great fragrance.
    8 of 10.

  33. :

    4 out of 5

Wow, impressed with this and its different facets in just a couple of hours of wearing it. I can’t say I love it, but I am definitely intrigued: deep and indeed spicey and woody, this is not about any sharp notes (don’t expect any sharp cedar, for instance) and it’s well balanced like most Creeds. Some are drawing comparisons to Bois du Portugal. Those are hardly justified: BdP has a very weighty, massive old-school wood vibe, while this is much more modern and wearable by someone young.
I am smelling this right now, some 7 hours after spraying it and after taking a shower, and it’s still there, not projecting so strongly, but definitely noticeable.
If I had to compare Spice and Wood to something that would be Bleu de Chanel with its spicy character, but while BdC takes a while to settle its sweetness and struggles in warmer weather, here we have a much better balanced composition.
    Price, however, is absolutely prohibitive!

  34. :

    4 out of 5

wears too subtle for my liking…but maybe that’s what Creed was going for. It seems to be too soft and gentle. Initial sprays are amazing but then it lets you down a couple hours later when you cant smell it anymore. Balance is perfect, I could bathe in this and not be over whelmed
no joking aside…this should come with a mini spray to re-apply once the initial sprays wear off
To Creed: increase the essential oils to get more longevity and you have a darn near perfect fragrance. AND make a freaking 3.4oz… discontinue the gigantic $700 bottle lol
Overall: I cannot think of once reason not to buy this…honestly you have to be from Mars to not like this fragrance

  35. :

    3 out of 5

I’ve had this fragrance a couple years now and truth is….It’s absolutely Amazing!! Sort of a soft projection and sillage but I think it was blended and intended that way.
Most people who smell this fragrance go nuts!
Guess what? I actually go nuts every time I wear it too!
    Elegance!
All year..but I like it most in fall/spring
Top 5 in my humble collection..easy!

  36. :

    4 out of 5

It’s a really nice fragrance, maybe akin to the Cinnamon Spice oatmeal packets (which I love, by the way).
I love the mix of ingredients. Although the longevity is nice, the projection is really spotty. I sprayed it twice, but no one could smell it on me (I couldn’t even smell it on me). As a royal exclusive, the price is way too high.

  37. :

to me this scent has that aventus vibe about it, i like aventus but love this one, it is one of my current fav frags.

  38. :

    5 out of 5

Scent – cedar musk & birch.
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, day or night.
    Projection – I didn’t get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
    Longevity – I get 8hrs consistently.

  39. :

    3 out of 5

I dont know if anybody else feel this way but after first application (fruity opening) it really reminds me a bit of Aventus because of the birch note i suppose.. Than it evolves into a nicest cedar-spicy combo that i havent experienced before.. Surely one of my secret weapon for specials occasions.

  40. :

    3 out of 5

This is another Creed fragrance that has a bit of an off putting opening. On the initial spray I get a kind of brown sugar, ketchup and vinegar mix on my skin that lasts for about an hour. Once this opening tones down a bit Spice and Wood starts to evolved into a 1980s old school scent on my skin. True to its name, the dominate scents to my nose are spice and woods, with a touch of citrus and floral. A beautiful scent at this point with moderate projection.
About 8 hours in I get a citrus woods vibe that stays close to the skin.
Bottom line: this one is a bit on the pricey side, but worth trying a sample.

  41. :

    5 out of 5

Spice and Wood is my favorite from the Creed house(Yes, over Aventus), and is one of my top 10 favorite fragrances. My issues with Spice and Wood is that it is grossly overpriced, albeit, that could be said about a lot of fragrances. I would also add that, Spice & Wood is ideal for the fall/winter months, and is more suitable for a formal situation, which, to me, limits its versatility and forces me to push it toward the latter part of my top 10 list. With that said, if you can afford to shell out the cash, get in on a split, or buy a decant/sample, you would not be dissatisfied with your purchase. I find this to be a true masterpiece and I don’t thrown that word around too often.

  42. :

    5 out of 5

Creed Spice and Wood is aptly named, as I get mainly clove, pepper, and (most notably) cedar out of it. It’s not a heavy cedar in the vein of By Kilian Straight to Heaven, but rather a cedar that’s welcome in by citrus and then acts as a soft counterweight to the spices in the mix. I don’t detect some of the other notes in the mix, like patchouli, that are just playing second fiddle the main assortment.
Spice and Wood falls into the category of notes that are not exceptional in and of themselves but rather are part of a smooth blend. I don’t get much in the way of projection or longevity for this, so it’d be a little lacking as a winter staple. And it certainly doesn’t score high marks in terms of uniqueness. While it’s not generic or cheap, it does feel familiar, much like Green Irish Tweed can. Frankly, it reminds me slightly of Banana Republic Black Walnut due a similar woody/citrus pairing, though Black Walnut relies on tobacco where Spice and Wood relies on cedar.
For me, Spice and Wood started out a like, not a love, so I assumed I’d probably not opt for the 30ml for $250 let alone 250ml for $745, but I eventually started to love it decided it was worthwhile and went full bottle after learning of an upcoming Creed price hike. It’s ultimately easy to see why this is so popular—it’s unassuming and classic, and a great blend.

This scent long lasting( about 10-12 hrs on me) with moderate projection. It’s my go to fall scent so elegant, sexy, woody, perfumery and chic. If only project about foot more than I would probably only have one winter and fall scent in my collection. Do your self a favor and decant of this amazing scent as matter fact get a bottle. Who knew cloves, apple, wood, cinnamon could smell so sexy. I also get smokey subtle vibe which im sure that is birch that I am smelling.

Creed’s batch variation strikes again. I sampled a beautiful, fresh fruity batch at the store but the bottle I bought smelled more like a hardware store. A real shame because the tester smelled fantastic.

Utilizing both refined and elegant notes from Europe as well as enigmatic and exotic smells of the Far East, CREED’s ‘Spice and Wood’ is a rare and exceptional composition. The fragrant journey opens with Italian bergamot, lemon, and prestigious Court Pendu Plat apples. These famed apples come from an extremely old French cultivar, dating back to the early 17th century and were likely cultivated at one time by the Romans. The harmonious trio of top notes are mouthwatering and expertly well balanced, being both sweet and sour in tonality. Following the lively opening comes a spicy and permeating heart of desert peppers, angelic root, oil of clove, patchouli and white birch. The vegetal desert peppers and angelic root provide a verdant compliment to the fruit filled top notes. Clove oil’s medicinal scent is warm and spicy, offering a faintly sweet Oriental tone with facets of allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Rendering smokiness and woody qualities, patchouli and white birch complete the heart of the composition. As the scent dries on the skin, one is greeted by a strong permeation of cedar wood from Egypt. Cedar is beautifully paired with a nuanced and powdery Egyptian iris note, the two of which compliment each other well in their earthiness. Oakmoss and musk further aid in lending a dry smokiness mixed with an antiqued leather scent to the base of this extravagant fragrance.
‘Spice and Wood’ is a robust and masculine composition whose architecture is expertly arranged. It is seamlessly blended and goes through several transitions on the skin as it dries. One can immediately denote the high quality of ingredients utilized as well their natural (versus highly synthetic) quality. Together this elevates the cologne to a supreme level, one reserved for the most discerning of tastes. I completely fell in love with CREED’s ‘Spice and Wood’ upon first smelling it several years ago. It continues to remain as one of my top fragrances for men due to its unabashed masculinity as well as its elegant refinement. The more temperate weather of autumn along with the crisp air of winter serve this fragrance well. I personally prefer to reach for this scent to wear during formal events or special occasions, reserving it sparingly. Both longevity and sillage are above average for this “eau de parfum”. If you have not yet had an opportunity to experience this fragrance masterpiece for yourself, please do yourself a favor and seek out the unforgettable ‘Spice and Wood’ to try today.

The scent of S&W is too great to be true.
And, to balance the greatness of the scent, its longevity is nearly inexistent. 1.5 hours, 2 hours tops – after that no one around can detect a single hint of S&W presence.

This smells nothing like I imagined it would. After the top notes fade, it reminds me of Dirty English, and it has that damn metallic note like in Silver Mountain Water that just overpowers everything else. After that, it just disappears, like the money I paid for it. Glad it was just 20 bucks for a sample, though.

I just absolutely love the fragrance. This for me is second only to Aventus.
Its a little linear but I don’t really care about that. Its a wonderful smell and seems to have good longevity on my skin.
Pity about the price but its one of those ones you’ll just want to wear.

    OLD TIME PHARMACY
I’m not a big fan of the herbal/pine/clove/etc fragrances. Too medicinal for me. I certainly appreciate the beauty of this well done men’s perfume (and excellent longevity) – but all I kept thinking was ‘oh, if only Creed made this without that ‘herb-y’ smell’.
The opening was harsh for me and I was concerned that I was going to have an unpleasant olfactory day. But after some time the medicinal smell quieted down (though always noticeable). Dry down (hours later) was quite nice – but not worth the long wait.
Certainly, if you enjoy/favor an herbal/wood scent – this is a must try and probably a must own.
