Description

In the spring of 2017, the collection is expanded with another edition, Sky di Gioia, which offers “an infinite space of dreams.”

Sky di Gioia is inspired by the natural beauty of the sunrise over the sea surface. Also, it carries a positive message of hope; the start of every day brings an infinity of new possibilities, and every dawn is a promise of optimism. The perfume notes include lychee, pink peony, rose and cedar.

The fragrance is available as a 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum. Sky di Gioia was launched in 2016.

    So catchy notes pyramide!
My hopes were on litchi, blackberry and peony. Actually, they failed. This fragrance is light and fruity floral, but not charming enough, imho.
With such notes, it could be more charming than fresh.

I reviewed this last year, but really never got around to trying it out much (I have so many fragrances in roller ball and sample sizes it’s ridiculous, but that’s another story LOL). Anyway, this juice definitely needs heat to smell good because when I put it on in my office (which was freezing due to the AC blasting away even though the morning temps are in the high 60’s right now), the lychee came across as stale, sour and almost kiwi scented–highly unpleasant on my skin at first in that coldness. I thought the roller ball may have gone bad in the year that I’ve had it and that I was going to have to scrub it off, but then I went out to lunch and that 90 degree heat coupled with the sun on my skin dried this down into something quite nice. The lychee turned moderately sweet instead of staying stale and strangely sour and now there is a nice pinkish musk lingering on my skin. I can see that this would not do well in cooler or cold temperatures, so I’m going to be using it this summer a lot more frequently.

If you like pink scents , this is wonderful . What I mean by pink ? Scents that are girly girly in a traditional way . This is like a more mature Babydoll. It has peonies which are sweet ( and peonies most of the time smell green on me, but not here ) , and lychees ( juicy and tropical )and pears . It’s succulent. The combination of fruit and peony at some points almost smells like the wine drenched roses in A.G Ce soir ou Jamais, or Ineke’s Briar Rose. But this is just a hint of impression, it is not like those . Although it is very fruity and quite sweet it doesn’t cross into the Escada territory.
A very pleasant scent for young ladies and those who like fruity florals. It’s rather expensive and not discounted anywhere yet , or I would recommend it whole heartedly.
By the way, zero Patchouli or vanilla.
Lasting power and silage are barely average .
The juice is rose colour and pretty .

Peony, lychee and a pink rose is what I can sense in this. The other notes may be there, but just supporting these other three. It smells like a lot of other perfumes out there, but it’s very versatile! It’s not too strong and not too weak. I think it can work in both warm and cold weather, but I see this mainly as a spring and summer perfume for everyday use. It’s fruity but not sugary sweet, it’s more fresh.
Pink, happy and flirty. Simple but good!

I used to love the Acqua Di Gioia Intense because of its extraordinary lasting and great sillage, but I’m not really a heavy floral scent lover specially Jasmine. If its like just mild soft Jasmine that stands at the back to support other notes yeah that’s fine with me. But Acqua Di Gioia Intense fuhhh the Jasmine stand right there at the front row refusing to settle at the background and it makes me almost suffocate which one of the reason I only brave enough to wear just one spray Acqua Di Gioia Intense per wear each time I feel like I want t wear it.
But this Oh my my, the main reason I in love with Acqua Di Gioia line is because of the fresh sweetness scent it possessed. But Jasmine gets in the way.
I tested this perfume 3 days ago and I was puzzled a little. I was like hey I like this one, its much more bearable and more smooth and the sweetness oh my god.
And now here I am checking this perfume notes and ahaa !!! Now I know why I love this instantly. Its because of the Jasmine was remove from the notes. I am so going to get this one.

I enjoy this, but probably not enough to buy it.
I sprayed the sample I have on a piece of paper, so results may vary if you spray this on your clothes. At first sniff, there is this strong rose with peony and lychee rising at it’s side. My eyes widened when I first smelled this as I am used to softer scents. But, do not get me wrong. This isn’t a bad perfume. In fact, I feel pretty neutral about it.
In its dry down though, it tends to smell as strong as it did when it was first sprayed. I sort of wish that it softened up a little bit as it didn’t seem to change very much due to that. It’s just a small nitpick on my part, really. I usually don’t like designating a scent to a specific season but this seems to be a fall or winter scent.
    Why?
Because I have feeling with how strong this is (or can get), it would probably become cloying and/or headache inducing in hot weather. At least that’s my opinion.

    sweet fruity pink
Reminds me of a scented rubber from my childhood
Good lasting power for a floral fruity as it’s an eau de perfume

Sky di Gioio is a beautiful, ethereal fragrance. Very light, and airy. Nothing complex. I get mostly peony. It sits close to the skin and doesn’t have great longevity but some perfumes aren’t meant to make a huge statement. Some are soft and incredibly feminine.
Despite it’s lightness, this is a quality fragrance. I love the simplistic design of those bottles, sometimes less is more. A great perfume for spring and summer.

After my affair with acqua di gioia eau de toilette, I wanted to revisit this line of dolce&gabanna’s scents. I recently bought both the original acqua di gioia and it’s flanker Sky di Gioia at roughly the same time.
The main olfactory difference between the two is the peony and litchi in Sky, and mint and sugar in the Acqua. I pretty much blind bought Sky since I took a whiff of this at a sephora too long ago for my nosebuds to recall. Now that I have it, I would say it isn’t different enough for me to have bought both the original and this one. This is more of a floral take on the original mojito-like frag. I was excited about the litchi as it’s one of my favourite fruits but it very much takes a supporting role here. With that said, it’s presence is more noticeable on the dry down rather than in the initial moments. Sky is still somewhat sugary like the original Acqua but its dry down is almost indistinguishably differentiated by the peony, slight litchi, and less present citrus.
Longevity is moderate, sillage is moderate. This wearable slightly sugary pink floral can be worn all year round as I feel the colder months pull more of the cool-weather-appropriate base notes (black currant adds an unexpected depth).I prefer the Acqua di Gioia over this since it has a bit more uniqueness from its mojito-like (mint, citrus+sugar) personality compared to the commonly used peony note in Sky.
I’d say there are better peony frags out there but this is an unobtrusive, pleasant variant.

Fruity with synthetic perfumery candy blue. Airy, bit fresh, fruity tropical and sweet. It’s like you stand on high mountain and look down at beautiful tropical yummi view. Spring and summer perfume. Overall office safe, but this perfume isn’t too serious so be sure what you want ‘tell’ with your perfume choice to people around you. It would rather fit summery dress and some tropical cocktail. Reminds teen-ish perfumes. For teen and young woman. It little bit makes me sneeze, I don’t know why.

Ahh so refreshing! So light and youthful but not in a cheapie way! I love this, very easy to wear, too. Inoffensive. Happy. Delicate.
I am all for complex scents and night time mysterious seductress, but I also love a daytime, summer day at the tennis court or hanging out with friends by the pool scent.

This smells like the aqua di gioia only better. It’s young, fresh, flirty, and a little rebelious. I just love this stuff

I don’t know why I have grown so attached to this one. It has a generic name and the peony/lychee combo has been done to death, but Sky is a very well blended concoction of sweet fruits and pink florals. Its not overly sweet and the projection is just right. I am going back for a second bottle as soon as mine is done.

This is a tart, juicy, charming pink fragrance. The litchi is prominent. The ingredients are minimal, resulting in a fragrance that is not overly complex.

I am at the airport right now and just bought a bottle of this at Duty Free. Jesus! What beautiful, otherworldy scent!
This one doesn’t smell like a woman; it smells like a vision. Like the sky. Like an element.
Usually, fragrances for women are associated with a specific female persona: i.e. “confident and enigmatic”, “feminine and poignant”, “sexy and alluring”, “sophisticated and elegant”. And when you buy a fragrance like that, you embody that persona. With Sky, you don’t have those associations and connotations. You’re a natural phenomenon. And a beautiful one, at that!
I love the smell of lychee, blackcurrant and pear. Just so happens this one brings together all of my favs! But then it’s still warm and strong at the same time, thanks to the wood and musk. Just like the dawn sky: sparkling but bringing a promise of warmth!!
I hope nobody else ever buys it; I want this to be mine mine mine!!!!!

I like Armani and Im always curious about the new creations. I bought this one during the summer and used it very often. It´s already autumn, and now that I picked out the bottle again from my collection, and smelled in it, remembered all the fun part of this summer. Lovely memories and this light, sexy scent helped me to avoce them. I felt it longer on my skin, even during the hot, seaty summer days 🙂

This smells nice. Nice is about it. I sprayed this on my skin and although I liked the scent, it was just okay. It’s definitely very youthful. Kind of like those little notes that read “do you like me? Check yes or no” Yes. I do like you. Lol. I like the fruity-floral aspect of it, but it lacked complexity for it to Wow me. I could see this in a body spray for spring and summer. In order for me to purchase a fragrance, it has to call my name and literally say, “Take me home with you, or you will regret it” …this didn’t.

Nothing unique about this. Smells like a generic floral. It is ok but forgettable. Not a fan of the current flankers. The original Acqua is iconic and stands out from the crowd. If you’re looking for just a safe floral then you might want to try it but there’s better fragrances in the market.

Smelled this on me today as a test. I really like it. It’s soft, fresh and feminine. Smells like the color in the bottle – pink. Light and pretty. might have to buy this one day…
I like Sun DG as well. Do not like the blue Sky however.

I blind bought this on reviews and that people said it was similar to my favourite Gucci Envy Me.
I can definitely see the resemblances to Envy Me but I think it smells more like Daisy Eau So Fresh, which I also like.
It’s very feminine, rosey, sweet, light – everything I love in a scent. I love it!!

Sky Di Gioia and Jimmy Choo L’eau are best friends, hanging out together on a fluffy light pink peony laced cloud, harmlessly giggling and gossiping about those heavy hitters filling the air with voluminous white florals or oriental spices and resins. Sky comes across just a bit fresher than L’eau, but both have three main notes in common (peony, cedar and musk) that I find them nicely interchangeable and both worth owning, at least in rollerball format to play mix and match with on hot summer days spent indoors in an office where the air circulation is prohibitive to spices, resins and in-your-face white florals.

    * These are my personal experiences/thoughts with this fragrance. Yours/others may differ. *
    Initial – peony + rose + pear
    Drydown – unknown
    Duration – unknown
    Projection – moderate
Experiences – I appear to be allergic to this. Not sure what ingredient is the issue, since I have other perfumes with these notes and do not experience the same reaction. Something about this fragrance causes my throat to swell up. I like it, but not enough to go to the hospital over it.
Quick Thoughts – floral, feminine, fresh, fruity, bright

It is a light fresh peony perfume, feminine, springlike, but I didn’t think it was great..
Like not one I need to have…now if you enjoy peony, this is a pleasant version,..not much to say really, nice scent, but not an extraordinary flanker in my opinion…could easily be a Bath and Body works scent

I always liked original Gioia edp and fraiche was good too. other versions released last year were awful. they had good idea but terrible execution. i was really hoping sky would be much better. it is better but still meh… what is going on with armani? they went downhill … I mean they had some cult classics like Emporio she, Mania, Sensi… what is this now? I am so disappointed with this brand I used to wear and love so much. Sky is girly pink scent, with good silage and longer than I expected longevity. The longer it was on skin the less I liked it. I ordered it online without trying so i highly suggest trying it first on your skin let it sit there for couple of hours before you decide. To sum it up – save your money (for something else)

I decided to spray some on in store to try out. As a teenager, I loved my original ladies Acqua di Gio and this brought back a nice memory of that scent. It’s like a nicely updated, more modern version of an old favourite. Having compared the notes between the two scents, I can definitely say the peony and musk have a strong presence. I don’t typically consider musky smells very summery but this is definitely a daytime, summer scent. It has a very watery, beachy quality about it that all of the “di Gio/Gioia” scents seem to have. The litchi and pear are a nice touch, making it a bit more fresh and fruity. Although I don’t think the scent suits me very much, I do enjoy smelling it. It’s not overpowering on the senses.

There is a vibe from the original Di Gioia fragrance and that makes this smell so interesting. It’s soft, airy, lightly sweet. The beginning is rather fruity but the fruits are fading within an hour. After that appears a wonderful smell of pretty soft roses and hints of wood. Feels like standing at the edge of a deep wood, catching sunbeams and taking a deep breath fresh air.
Good mood scent all year round. Longevity and sillage could be better, hoping for an Intense version to come.

Stumbled upon this at shoppers drug mart, the tester that is lol I would never pay full retail of a brand new perfume, way too expensive lol Anywho. …this is beautiful. What a gorgeous girly summer scent. It’s fresh without being soapy, it’s light without being non existant, over all a really good find.

Perfect addition to this series of fragrances! I have not seen it in the US yet, but was lucky to come across it while on vacation in the Czech Republic. This shares the same essence as the other Gioias, but has a more fruity-fresh feeling to it, highlighted by the litchi and pear. It is surprisingly not too sweet like many litchi scents can be. Not cloying, sticks somewhat close to the skin, but pretty good longevity. I didn’t buy it on the spot, but may just have to in the near future!

Nice tropical scent, litchi, rose and peony mix. Something is ‘too much’ for me though. Or maybe it’s just not fresh enough.

I’m in love again! <3 =D This is sooo refreshing, Spring time out of the window. Airy.. and this litchi wow, it’s not it would add that sickly sweet note but the fresh instead. Okay only a tiny bit sweetened up by the pear-litchi combo 😉 Both refreshing and sweet fruits. I’m amazed. Will try it out for longevity and sillage.
Peony and Rose lovers, try it out!

I love the marketing of those perfumes. The bottle, the name and scent’s simplicity are the things I like about it.
It’s airy and fresh, a peony scent.
    Very likable everyday fragrance.
Reminds me of a scent of some facial tonic.
I would wear it, it’s nice, a great one for spring and summer.
