I think this one is the Saint… (I haven’t tried Saint, though) To me it smells like Hanae Mori Butterfly which is a great thing to smell like! I don’t get any dark and sexy. I get baby smell, hello kitty eraser, and just lightness and pinkness, which is wonderful! Just not sinful. Maybe the juices got switched!

For me it smells like almost a copy of Narciso Rodriguez for her. Basically, this is all that you need to know about his frag.

I like this scent, so don’t take this as a negative comment – but there is a definite LePage’s Paste note to it. I used to love the smell of that stuff when I was a kid! Otherwise, it smells similar on my skin to Black Opium and Vera Wang Princess, both of which owe a lot to that classic, Tabu by Dana, which my mom used to wear.

The bottle is absolutely gorgeous, the name draws me in further, and the scent reminds me of Black Opium, which was a brief love of mine until I decided that Black Opium’s name and bottle didn’t do enough for me (I have to love the *entire* experience of a perfume- visually, sonically, and conceptually in addition to the scent- before I’ll consider spending money on it!). I am tempted to buy a bottle of this, despite recently losing significant respect for Kat Von D. I will probably be sampling it again and giving it some more thought.

    GREAT scent…POOR sillage/longevity….$%^&!
To my nose I am getting a vibe of CK Euphoria and/or Victoria’s Secret Fearless….???…Have a travel size spray only, and won’t be investing in a FB,sadly.

This is weird. I just ordered a travel-size from Sephora, and I was really excited for the plum and cinnamon notes. I don’t seem to be getting either one. And definitely no mandarin. No, the dominant note upon opening is patchouli, accompanied by a big fat bouquet of white flowers (orange blossom and jasmine being dominant), rounded out with a hint of vetiver – dry but not quite smoky. After an hour or so, the musk kicks in.
This is a perfume that is trying not to be powdery, and I’m afraid it might lose. I hate powder. I think my mom will like this, though.
EDIT: Well, this didn’t simply dry down to powder, so that was nice. What happened instead was a patchouli overload, amplified by the musk. I ended up giving this sample to my mom, and it smells WONDERFUL on her – she gets the plum & cinnamon notes I’d wanted so badly! 🙁
I think it’s safe to say that my skin clings to patchouli, so I need to be careful in the future of patch notes.

Man y’all realy like this huh…..?
I tested the reformulated version so I have no idea what it was like beforehand but i thought this was kind of lame
    – i don’t really think of the concept of sinners when I smell this. This was just a sweet and warm scent, and that was it- nothing really exciting or devilish here.
It’s too safe to be sinful!
Pretty disappointing because i was wanting to try this for some time and from how people talked about it I thought it was gonna be really interesting.
The bottle is super tacky looking, by the way. It’s probably one of the ugliest bottles I’ve seen in a long time.

I was in Sephora and noticed two very artsy bottles sitting next to each other. One had white artsy latticework completely surrounding the glass bottle and the other had black artsy latticework. Saint (the white one) seemed nice but smelled too light on my skin. When I sprayed Sinner onto my other wrist, I smelled semi-sweet and earthy port wine. Wow! I grabbed a large box and headed directly to the cashier. From what the SA told me, this is a reformulated version of Sinner that was re-released in 2017.
Sinner is a sweet & spicy oriental that projects around an arm’s length and smells really good! I would recommend wearing this during the cooler months of the year – but that’s just me.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways! Sinner by Kat Von D has been my signature scent since 2010 and it is still my favorite perfume to this day. If there was ever a scent that felt absolutely like me, this is it!
Sinner is one of the sexiest, most mysterious scents I’ve encountered. It has an air of dark, sophisticated class to it. The notes are beautifully blended. To me, it smells like autumn in a bottle! The harmony of the patchouli, plum and vanilla is what stands out the most, topped off with the most delicious spicy cinnamon. The cinnamon can almost be mistaken for chili or pink pepper, and I get a hint of something more than the notes mentioned, maybe sandalwood, licorice or leather. There is something else about it that is so mysterious and I can’t quite place it, but that’s what I love about it! It is such a cozy, warm spicy scent that changes your mood. It makes me want to put on that little black dress, pour a glass of wine and put on that moody playlist. My holy grail date night scent! My boyfriend adores it (he loves all of Kat Von D’s fragrances on me) and he can always recognize it when I wear it.
The sillage and longevity of the new formulation, compared to the original, is a TAD softer, but the difference is minuscule. Moderate for both formulations. For anyone who enjoys warm spicy scents, or scents that are not too floral or sweet but still feminine, this is a MUST try! I would almost call it a safe blind buy, I think it’s that good!

This was promising to begin with but effectively disappointed me in its execution.
Started out creamy and floral (orange blossom) but eventually turned into a boring berries (plum) and patchouli non-entity of a scent.
In the opening stage I found elements of GUCCI by GUCCI and the BLACK XS POTION flanker, so nothing new but nice/enjoyable nonetheless. It felt fresh, vibrant, daytime appropriate.
Then the patchouli took center stage and the floral notes dissipated, leaving behind a watered down rendition of TSUKIYO by ANNAYAKE, which is all fair and well if you are looking for a weaker version of that, but I am not.
If there was some focus here it could be nice. A spice or a flower taking center stage wouldn’t have gone amiss. My conclusion is that there are far better/more complex scents available in this category, though I do like the bottle very much in its half ANNA SUI, half GUIPURE & SILK style (in a kind of tacky rock chic way). Ultimately it feels a little basic and lacks depth of character.

I miss the old formulation, which to me had more longevity and cinnamon, but at least it mostly smells the same. When I bought this scent the first year it came out, I wanted to bathe in this. It starts as a smoky floral, and then the cinnamon opens up on your skin to be a spicy floral dream. The first perfume in years I couldn’t stop sniffing.

A big sweet plum, patch and vanilla hit on the opening. I was hoping for more cinnamon but it adds a little spiciness. The musk is present and comes much to the fore with the patch over the timeline. I’m glad the sweetness does ease off a bit with time. The dry down is good with the vetiver and neroli finally coming through to the fore and the plum and vanilla fade back. I can see why folk see some similarity with Midnight Poison and the Paco Rabanne.
I’m tempted to go fb just because the dry down is so good.

When I first saw this at Sephora, I was intrigued, but didn’t like the heavy spiced opening notes when I put my nose to the tester or sprayed it on a tester strip. I thought for sure it just wasn’t for me.
Fast forward a couple of months and I tried it again, deciding that I should give it a chance on my skin to see if it worked with my chemistry. I thought it was a long shot, but I was not disappointed! The first notes are spicy, earthy, vanilla, with hints of floral and fruit. The dry down becomes less floral/fruit and more earthy-spicy-musky. Overall, I enjoy the fragrance as it progresses. I just wish the full complement of fragrance notes lasted longer than 3 to 4 hours. I have tried it also over unscented lotion, but longevity is still an issue. CK Obsession and Shalimar EDT and EDP outperform Sinner in longevity for me.
Since it has a shorter duration, I find myself wearing Sinner when I go out for shorter evening events, and not for all day (i.e. office) settings. This has become one of my favorite fall/winter fragrances for a night out and it will be a Fall/Winter staple of mine.

THIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL DUPE FOR MIDNIGHT POISION (ELIXIR). omg i can finally rest in peace LOL. my all time fav scent is Midnight poison which has been disrespectfully discontinued. But Dior can kiss my *** now , because ive got SINNER! this smells soooooo identical to the MP elixir, that im willing to bet Kat Von d bought diors last remnant drops of their midnight poisons and revamped it with her name and new goth bottles. it smells THAT CLOSE to diors MP (elixir). the Elixir smelled like MP (EDP) but with added sweetness like caramel/amber etc, and its all here in sinner too. WOW! and how come no one is mentioning this? are the Midnight Poison lovers that scarce? i love kat, and ive been a fan for over 10yrs now, and for it to be my fav goth girl to come out with a scent identical to my fav fragrance in the world is sooo amazing! ***hyperventilating**. did her 2009 version of sinner smell like this one? i never got a chance to sniff that one. im going to stock up on sinner incase Kat looses her damn mind and discontinues it too.

This scent is so unique because it combines cinnamon and fruit. Clean, clear, and fresh, and as warm as a hot breakfast on a country morning. An underlying aura of white musk. If this scent is a “sinner”, it is for a “daytime sinner” (and that is possible!). Nothing dark here– just appealing spiciness with excellent longevity!

This is my second review as I realised that I slowly fell in love with this perfume. I think I was skeptical about it at first because fragrances that come in beautiful bottles are usually pretty mediocre, and that’s what my brain registered Sinner as on the first encounter. I didn’t even notice when I started to wear it every day. I got a small travel size bottle of Sinner when I bought my full size of Saint and a month later it was gone, without me ever noticing! That’s when I realised I don’t want to wear anything else and simply had to buy a full size bottle. The dark sweetness of it is incredible and simply “works” with my skin. I am no expert at identifying notes but there is definitely a beautiful dark musk in there, along with lots of jasmine, sweet dark plum, patchouli and cinnamon. It’s like a much sweeter, richer version of Jasmin Noir, which I also love. It sits rather close to skin but has plenty enough sillage to be noticed. Two sprays last all day on me, but then again, I have oily skin so everything does 🙂 Long story short, perfect fragrance in a perfect bottle!

I LOVE Sinner with a passion, as it reminds me and somehow relates to all of my favorite perfumes from my collection: Gucci Oud EDP and Narciso Rodriguez EDT For Her, due to the INTENSE orange blossom note in ALL of them. Pretty much any fragrance that has orange blossom in it, it always stands out as one of a very dominant notes on my skin. So interesting how chemistry works sometimes 🙂
I’m not gonna play “expert” here in defining the notes, as I’m not. But that is how Sinner performs on me with my pH and provides me with similar scents from the other perfumes that I stated above. Alrighty then! I’m happily accepting that fact :))
Longevity and sillage are also awesome. I’m gonna have so much to “sin” about with my beloved hubby for the credit card bill. LOL.

I love Sinner. When they had the whole push to see if you were a Saint or Sinner last year when the fragrances were released, I immediately fell in love with Sinner. It’s rich body really speaks to me. The plum really stands out to me in Sinner along with the patchouli, vanilla, and wood notes. Sinner is a bomb with layer upon layer of explosion from the beginning. When you think it has over worn its welcome it changes up a bit and you get whole different composition on your skin. The creamy plum mixed with a touch of citrus is probably my favorite part of Sinner. It isn’t overly fruity, and I get no floral notes whatsoever, which is okay for me because I think if I did smell them I wouldn’t be as huge a fan of Sinner. It is bright and fresh with a boatload of mystery and sensuality thrown in for seriously good measure. I, personally, would wear this day or night and year round, but I can see how some would rather steer clear of this scent during the hot months or the daytime as it is a heavier fragrance. This wears really well on me. I get between 5 to 7 hours of wear time but need to reapply more often if I want the brighter notes to stay in play.

Sinner by Kat Von D was the first fragrance from her range that I reached for. I don’t know what that says about me, but I am admittedly enjoying this somewhat heavy patchouli-based scent.
First things first, Sinner reminds me of Kimora Lee Simmons’ Seductive Goddess. Not only do they share similar black themed packaging, but their scents smell relatively similar as well. As Seductive Goddess is not a very well-known scent, I may be the only reviewer to have picked up on this.
Sinner by Kat Von D is a musky patchouli fragrance with subtle notes of jammy plum, spicy cinnamon, and bourbon vanilla. I enjoy the way patchouli smells on me, so I can appreciate this fragrance on my skin. For those that dislike the scent of patchouli, however, will probably find this fragrance difficult to stomach.
It’s not a crowd-pleaser, unfortunately, it’s also not a fragrance I would ever dare to overspray. I prefer to wear heavy scents such as this one during the cooler seasons or as an evening scent. I personally find Sinner by Kat Von D sexy, and I think it represents her image perfectly.
As I already own Kimora Lee Simmons’ Seductive Goddess, I don’t need to purchase Kat Von D’s Sinner as well. However, in saying that, had I not already owned a fragrance similar to this I would have definitely added it to my collection.

I am pleasantly surprised by this scent. Compared to Saint, Sinner is a warmer, spicier scent. This is something I usually don’t wear. I found myself smelling my wrists all day after putting it on, a clear sign of a winning fragrance. The mix is heavenly – the jasmine, the vanilla, the patchouli all mix beautifully into an irresistible scent. I would love to purchase a bottle one day!

This is a dark incensey scent perfectly matched to the bottle albeit inoffensive and modern/ pretty. I’d wear it to full moon type events because of the feeling it evokes for me except they tend to have people who think they will go into anaphylactic shock if they smell a tiny bit of commercial perfume

I had high hopes for this fragrance. I really like patchouli in blends and the spicy/warm element is usually good too. Sadly in Sinner the combination is only…..meh. It’s an okay fragrance. I don’t hate it and it definitely isn’t a ‘scrubber’ but it also doesn’t thrill me. The patchouli isn’t super strong, in fact I believe the deeper herbal quality is mostly from the vetiver. And that’s fine but….meh.
Perhaps I am jaded when it comes to dark, edgy fragrances but this one really isn’t. It doesn’t challenge me in any way, it isn’t particularly sensuous, and I would feel completely comfortable wearing this to work. In fact, I am at work wearing this and its…..okay. It bounces aback and forth between spicy/earthy and vanilla/white floral.
I’ve been wearing it for about 3 hours and it has already faded considerably. It is a little bit stronger than a skin scent at this point and I will undoubtedly need to reapply within the next hour or two or it will disappear completely.
I bought the smaller spray bottle to try it out but since it’s just okay, I won’t be going for the gorgeous full size bottle. This is the type of scent I would consider purchasing at the $20-25 range but for the price they are asking for it, I expect a much better performance and need it to be full on love not just….meh.

I tested this yesterday without looking at the notes. In the opening stages, I got a very strong rose, although I know that note isn’t listed. During the drydown, it became more floral-fruity. All in all, it was not a bad scent, although not something that interests me personally.
Looking at the notes, I’m wondering if the tester was off, since I smelled absolutely nothing spicy, leathery, etc. The dark rose in the beginning was very nice.

I see that there are mixed reviews on this one, and I suppose I can see why. There was a lot of hype upon the relaunch of this fragrance, and the newly designed bottle by Kat herself piqued my interest.
I have to preface my thoughts on Sinner with the fact that I usually really dislike scents with a heavy patchouli note in them.Lately, i’ve been delving into the world of scents with patchouli in them and I have to say that i’m definitely coming around by adding a few to my collection.
I absolutely love the patchouli note in this perfume, it just pairs so nicely with the spicy cinnamon and sweet plum. This scent really makes me thinkg of a lolita goth girl, looking super cute with long black hair in a frilly black lace doll dress with mary janes on. I love the depth this has especially in cold weather, and it is so warm and cozy.
I recommend this to the person who loves rich and spicy scents. I can see this layering with lighter fragrances so nicely, it’s worth a sniff at least.

I have tried this fragrance on three occasions. I enjoy it. It strikes similar notes for me that Black Opium does. However, it does not last beyond an hour or two at the most before it completely disappears from my skin. It doesn’t even leave a pale skin scent. It disappears entirely.

  28. :

    5 out of 5

I got samples for both this and Saint. No surprise, i immediately was drawn to Sinner, because I wear black most of the time, and i am pretty sure i am indeed a “sinner” 😉
Its a lovely floral oriental that’s very modern(imo). I see some reviewers giving it the big heave ho and saying it smells like “older women” perfume but i don’t agree. Its sweet, smells like vanilla/plum/patchouli, with hint of powder and leaves trail after you. Yet its modern. Its definitely a “dark” perfume. If you like lighter florals, steer clear. If you like more complex deeper sweeter scents, look no further.

  29. :

    3 out of 5

Well, I think Kat Von D was very clever in making two fragrances that absolutely must be worn together, thus forcing us to buy two rather than just pick one. 😉
Seriously, this perfume has to be worn with Saint, and vice versa—they both benefit from the presence of the other. Sinner is too boring-smoky-plum on its own, and Saint is too goody two shoes. Together they are fantastic though. Dare I say a match made in heaven (I know, I know!)

  30. :

    4 out of 5

I like some patchouli fragrances but this one smells like bug spray mixed with si by giorgio armani. I usually go for warm fragrances that have a base note of vanilla but this one I was just not a fan of. However, I do like saint which is more of a lighter fruity fragrance.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

I really, really wanted to like this since the bottle is simply exquisite. But Sinner gets a big NOPE from me.
First impression of it strongly reminded me of the musky, spicy floral perfumes that are popular with grandmas. I noticed that after a few minutes of dry down it’s a little less spicy and a bit softer, a bit.
I feel like bottle wise this perfume was trying to target a younger crowd but the scent is not very sexy or fitting for the bottle. Saint smells a lot better.
    Disappointing.

  32. :

    4 out of 5

This reminds me, startlingly, of Narciso Rodriguez For Her edp. It’s slightly sweeter, and definitely weaker, but very similar to my nose. Frankly, it’s gorgeous to me. I will definitely be purchasing this one! (I don’t like the Saint one at all, but that’s no surprise, lol).

  33. :

    5 out of 5

    Not very sinful.
Very sweet, smells like some other fragrance I can’t remember (or perhaps several). Pleasant but not befitting of the dark and sinful names or bottle. A kitten in panther’s clothing, if you will.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

This smells like halloween! It smells like some plummy witch’s brew concoction with cinnamon and slight smokeyness in the drydown. More so resinous like dragon’s blood. I’d definitely wear this on a night out. It may be too heavy for daytime. Would also smell delightful on a man as well.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

I got this free (along with a Saint sample). Far prefer this to Saint. It is only ok, nothing startling. It is quite weak less offensive than a lot of these kinds of scents. Not worth a purchase for me. I think a young teenager might like it & feel grown up wearing it.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

This is’t bad, it just isn’t original: red fruit, patchouli, vanilla, musk..it’s safe and smells like every other trendy ‘dark sexy’ fragrance out there. I do like that it wears closely and isn’t choking, but it isn’t one I would seek out.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

This smells like plum, oud, honey, roses, and booze. I’m just not into this type of scent, but I know many people are. I really smell no similarity to Narciso Rodriguez for Her (I like Narciso for Her, and I don’t really fancy this one). The projection of this is very strong for the first hour you have it on, and it later becomes a skin scent. It’s interesting that patchouli is listed as an ingredient because I got more of an oud-y woodiness when I first sprayed, patchouli didn’t really come to mind at all. Sinner smells a little like charcoal, which is sort of fitting if you think about the name. One good thing about this perfume though is the musk. The musk is very smooth and silky, and I prefer this musk component to the musk in Narciso Rodriguez for Her. I think it has a similar vibe to the original Ange ou Demon, which is also funny considering the names.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

I like this one it last a few hrs on my dry-unmoisturized skin..I find it similar to Tom Ford’s orchid soleil WITHOUT the pop corn note lol. No where near as pretty or as strong/long lasting but their are some sort of similarities for me 🙂

  39. :

    4 out of 5

Maybe I haven’t explored enough fragrances that are similar to this, but I find this scent pretty unusual and weird.
It’s like on one hand I can see why the fragrance doesn’t seem THAT polarizing or strong, it is on the easier side to wear. Smelling it I am getting what others smell (the whole spiced plums and patchouli thing), but this is oddly sour! Like really sour. It comes across to me as a tea rose kind of scent. So to my nose I smell plums, spice, patchouli, and tea rose. It does have an earthy property to it as well. It does get less sour and more spicy as it wears on, but the projection becomes very flat as well.
I think this would be a good pick for a woman who likes earthier oriental scents but doesn’t want a power house. For myself I think it’s a pass.

Having been a big KVD cosmetic fan, and seeing how absolutely beautiful the Sinner bottle is, I headed to Sephora to test out this scent. I’m so happy I didn’t take the plunge and purchase this, as this would have been a hefty price tag for just a beautiful bottle. Spritzing this on my inner wrists I then ventured over to do a little lipstick shopping. 20 minutes later when I left the store, so did the scent on my wrists. What a disappointment.

  41. :

    5 out of 5

I am digging these new fragrances from KVD. While they may not be the reformulations fans have asked for, they are still nice. On me, Sinner is sweet, spiced plums with patchouli and crisp flowers. I think it’s a better composition than Saint as there is more going on. But it isn’t needlessly complex and trying too hard. Could definitely see this being a go-to perfume. Reminds me of a sweeter Calvin Klein Deep Euphoria. Took me a while to realize it is essentially Lush Honey I Washed The Kids/It’s Raining Men.

  42. :

    5 out of 5

I got a travel size of both 2017 Sinner and Saint since I love Kat Von D’s makeup brand. Sinner really does smell just like a Narciso Rodriguez – probably most like the For Her Black EDT bottle but also like the Pink EDP. However, NR both last and project much, much better. If you like this you’ll love those. I can’t even smell this by noon if I spray at 8 AM – no matter how much I shove my nose on my wrist. I mean it’s nice to have the purse spray, I don’t regret buying it, but if you’re looking for a full bottle I’d recommend either of the NR fragrances over this.
Also, I’d assume the NR fragrances are not cruelty free or vegan? So, this would be a good replacement if you loved those but prefer to know you’re not harming animals.

  43. :

    5 out of 5

This is a beautiful fragrance if you want it to disappear in an hour. A musky, vanilla white flower. It’s beautiful!
Such a shame because the sillage is like a step below subtle and the longevity is non-existing.
A real missed opportunity. It’s like all the work went into the gorgeous bottle design and not into the performance of the juice. Disappointing to say the least.

  44. :

    5 out of 5

This leans more towards Tocca Cleopatra than Narciso For Her on me, though it has less of that sweaty edge than Cleopatra. There was briefly a version of Red Door called Velvet that was similar too. All of these though are inviting and appealing. Longevity for Sinner is a huge dealbreaker though. Ridiculous. I would simply cross it off the list if it wasn’t for amazing bottle that speaks to me in a grown up Halloween sort of way.

  45. :

    3 out of 5

I agree with Germany’s review, pretty spot on (esp the comparison to the original tall black Narciso..yes!! if you have Narciso, you probably do not need this, and Narciso performs much better, imho), and I completely echo that review. Adding…for me, this starts off as an interesting, slightly intoxicating scent. Sexy, yet also cozy, and a little mysterious. Much nicer done that KVD’s Saint, which was way too run of the mill white floral for me. Like Saint, the bottle for Sinner is of course also stunning.
However, the deal breaker for me with this is the longevity. As a couple other reviewers have noted, this lasts barely an hour or two. Then it becomes barely a skin scent, if you really sniff and strain your nose. But for a date night, when you really only need or want to smell good for a couple hours, this will do very nicely. Unless you want to carry the beautiful bottle around to reapply. Which, for me, I see that as being terribly risky…I would cry if something happened to this bottle, lol. All in all a great warm, slightly sensual/sexy yet a little earthy, too, scent, just not long-lasting.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

If we’re strictly speaking drydown, I prefer Sinner. I’m more into either earthy, sweet but not gourmandy or fresh citrus fragrances. Top notes are mandarin orange, orange blossom and plum, heart notes are jasmine, white flowers and cinnamon, base notes are patchouli, vetiver, vanilla and musk. This juice sits much nicer on my skin and has a bit better staying power than Saint. This however probably won’t be the one one most flock to as it’s been dubbed ‘too musky’ by most influencers/gurus etc. but I digress…

  47. :

Amaizing sweet creamy ,ultra smooth musky floral , I adore this one and so does my husband. It reminds me of the original black tall Narciso and my husband says it reminds him of poison from the 80 s but more modernized without the spice. Funny enough it shares all the same notes except poison has some more added. The plum, vanilla musk and cinnamon with the patchouli are a dream to me and indeed very much like poison or Narciso Edt. It’s sensual , sexy and was an instant like for me. Love the smoothness and warmth of this scent. Devine !!! Top shelf !

This smells VERY similar to the original! I know some people have had issues with projection and longevity but on me it lasts very nicely. It’s a little more subtle in its projection, but I actually enjoy that. The original could be a bit overbearing.
So for those unfamiliar with the original, what does this smell like? To me it is spiced plums and vanilla, with a sumptuous patchouli base. It’s quite heady, not really a summertime scent but perfect for parties on winter nights or a walk on a crisp autumn afternoon. The cinnamon and plum create such a cozy feeling, this whole scent is like a heavy dream. If you like your scents rich, absolutely give this a try.

I was disappointed in Saint due to the pitiful longevity and poor sillage. And, Sinner is the same. It had a sillage of about 2 inches and lasted a whole hour on me. It was a pleasant, soft, warm, spicy vanilla scent that I enjoyed, although in my opinion it’s quite generic. It’s a shame because the bottles are so exquisite. I was hoping Saint and Sinner would be as exceptional and memorable as the bottles.

Started promising, then the nicely blended top notes very rapidly dried down to a frankly cheap smelling musk. Disappointing from the rather fabulous Kat Von D, that amazing bottle deserves better than this.

I adore this perfume. On me, it has a creamy cinnamon vanilla with that vetiver. I love that note. I wasn’t sure what I was loving in perfumes, but that’s it. The bottle itself is beautiful, and the scent inside is wonderful. I like that it isn’t overpowering. I’m a teacher, so I must watch out for strong perfumes. It doesn’t last long, but I just spritz again.

I had read that Sinner was being relaunched and since I tend to wear spicier scents especially with notes of sandalwood and patchouli, I decided to test it when I came across it at my local Sephora.
I was instantly disappointed upon the initial spray. The sweetness and fruitiness hit me like a brick wall and triggered my allergies. I left the store and couldn’t wait to wash this off but I had errands to run so I’d have to wait. The initial notes lingered while I was driving and they were annoyingly sweet and cloying. Too fruity. Too much sticky sweet plum. I honestly couldn’t detect the orange too much as it was a bit underwhelmed and although I liked the vanilla it was a lot.. Honestly this scent smelled kind of cheap at first. An imitation of something I’d smelled long ago. It smelled too much like Dior Poison and brought me back to my ’80’s days.
But fast forward two to seven hours later and now I couldn’t stop smelling my arm. I could now smell the woods and the vetiver and how I love vetiver. I got a whiff of spicy cinnamon and the vanilla was now softer and not as sweet but oh baby the patchouli. It finally arrived and it was wonderful. The scent learned it’s lesson a few hours after the initial eye-tearing sweet squirt. It was now subtle and sexy. Mysterious and intoxicating. I found the dry down personally fabulous on my skin and it lasted for several hours. Very satisfying and delicious in the end.

I bought a purse spray of Sinner, I wanted to try Saint but the tester was gone, Sinner is warm, a bit spicy, really nice creamy oriental…..cinnamon and plum are not usually notes I enjoy, but they do not dominate here..it has a certain freshness, probably coming from the orange blossom, plus sweet from the vanilla and musk…I am not sure yet if I will buy the bigger bottle, but this is so far one I like..it is sensuous, and definitely better for fall and winter..nice, I really like it !! It is feminine, and although it is called Sinner, there isn’t anything dark about it…

I’m wearing this now, and it is an absolutely beautiful, warm scent with vanilla and a hint of floral sweetness going on. Will definitely be buying the full size bottle.

Base notes have a habit of jumping out at me upon opening and that was the case with Sinner for me with it’s musk.
I never really was able to find anything else but musk, not my typical experience to have everything else fade into the background from beginning to end. The musk reminded me of a Guerlain or Lancome variety, not white nor bordering on civet.
I had two or three hours
