Im not sold on the opening notes
The dry down is nice though, lots of licorice & strawberries

I bought Showtime EDT after reading reviews and I have to say that I’m really disappointed. I like sweet and juicy scents, such floral-fruity (black currant, mandarin, bergamot, rose, red pepper), but sometimes creamy and warm with a hint of Carmel, amber or vanilla. Unfortunately, Showtime is too spicy, sour and sharp because of too strong of licorice and lilac. I regret, but I can’t sense any chocolate or something creamy.
I don’t know for whom is the scent. On the one hand, strangely sexy, on the other hand, unpleasant and old-fashioned. It’s not my cup of tea.
The longevity is moderate, the sillage is rather weak.

For some silly reason I got rid of this years ago and have never forgotten about it. Yes it’s a celeb perfume but it is honestly really good. It’s sweet strawberries with floral notes. It is by far her best perfume and always gets compliments. Cost me a lot to buy it now but I’m glad I have it.

For me it’s pure love, this one. I’m addicted to this fragrance already for many years. It doesn’t smell too sweet for me, just a right portion of all ingredients. Is it licorice or something else that makes it so outstanding for my nose, but it’s nothing like the synthetic sweetness of other Kylie’s fragrances.
Sadly, longevity is really poor – after one hour I don’t smell a trace of Showtime anymore. For the rest it’s perfect for me.
Showtime was discontinued and I still can’t find another fruity fragrance that would smell as good to me as this one.

Very sweet, girly scent. To me, it kind of smells like walking into a Lush shop. Don’t really get any floral notes, only strawberry, blackcurrant and a kind of powdery scent.

I got this thrown in for free as part of a purchase on ebay. I like a few celeb frags but Kylie’s never crossed my radar before. On first spritz it’s very sweetie like, and I get a hit of licorice which is quite pleasant. That’s where the niceness ends unfotunately. After a couple of hours it turns to what I can only descibe as mixed fruit drink left out in the hot sun. The drydown is as a previous reviewer stated like Tunes (cough lozenges), a weak cherry menthol kind of deal. Quite strange. I won’t be keeping this one.

I really like this scent. It is perfect for cold weather. On my skin it becomes very sweet and powdery, the black currant smells more like lingonberry and then with a hint of liquorice. It is a very comforting scent.

I had the gift set with the glitter body lotion, and perfume and it was certainly a very sweet, strawberry/floral candy delicious scent. It has the scent of a very sweet doll, also because it has that slight plastic comforting childhood memory attachment to it, that’s why it reminds. Some have said this smells like strawberry shortcake dolls and even though I cant exactly remember how they smelt, I can imagine that to be the perfect description. Shame I have ran out of this stuff, will have to find some more. BTW I hear the perfume version with the sparkle is even nicer 🙂

I really love this scent and so sad it’s no longer being produced, I will hang on to my bottle until the last drop ;-(You must like sweet scents to like this one, no question. I would describe it as sweet, fruity, young, summer-like and candy-like. It’s not for everybody though and I can actually understand how some might experience it a cheap-like…It’s not a classical high-end scent, but for me, it’s still a favorite, attached to great memories.

Big disappointment. Smells dirty on my skin.

The notes are completely different with the EDT and EDP.
Two different perfumes its not a case of a stronger, and weaker fragrance of the same type.
I like the notes here better as i am a fan of tiare flower, i buy whatever i see that contains tiare 🙂 but i also like the caramel base note in the edp.
Both have a weak silage and longevity though, but nice enough for a sunny day when you dont want to use up your versaces and dolce’s… 🙂

I was given a huge bottle of this as a gift, I remember testing it in Boots and not being too impressed. However, I actually like it now! The first spray is very sweet strawberry and blackcurrant. Then the warm and slightly spicy licorice appears with praline and mild rose. Throughout the perfume, I get a powdery note. This is an extremely sweet and sugary fragrance. If you dislike gourmands or sweet scents stay away from this! It has very good lasting power and projection is good too.
Overall, a very sweet, girly and fun fragrance. I wouldn’t say this is at all sexy but it is kinda of flirty. It’s not my favourite sweet scent but it’s worth a try!

Hate this fragrance! smells so cheap and the bottle is hideous! no one above the age of 10 should wear this! it smells like plastic and expired, mouldy lollies!

  15. :

I love Showtime. It’s lovely, sweet, fruity, like a small explosion of joy ! Licorice and strawberry are very present and so yummy. Correct lasting power.
    As nice as the EDP.

I was really very pleasantly surprised by Kylie’s Showtime EDT. Its gorgeous stuff and far better than any of the “Darling” range.
Strawberry and licorice dominate this one, and I have to say, not smelling a bit like Tunes 🙂
The sillage is good, but the longevity is fabulous! I gave a squirt to my left wrist last night at about 9, and its still there this morning, its now 11.30am.
I received Showtime as part of a job lot I bought to get a bottle of Prada, so glad I discovered this spring/summer gem. Great job Kylie x

In the UK our leading brand of cough sweets is called Tunes. If you want to know what this smells like, go sniff a Tune. There’s really not a great deal more to it than that.

Licorice in your face with hints of wild strawberry. Very nice scent, but not very special as to where I would purchase it a second time.

What can I say I am a sucker for a sweet gourmand! I love this fragrance. Sweet berry jammy pralines with some licorice thrown in. I really do not get alot of florals here only the sweet foody stuff. It reminds me of being in a candy store or ice cream parlour. Sweet and yummy!!

I am surprised so many people dislike this fragrance. All my male friends have voted in favour of Showtime out of my other perfumes. They say they like a girl who smells sweet and good enough to eat haha. I am now on my second bottle of Showtime and have had lots of compliments at work too.

Strawberry and licorice scents are great…fun, sweet, and yummy…but i want more of sugar..this is not sweet enough for gourmet frag mania like me

  22. :

Every time I smell it I want to eat some sweet, delicious candies. It smells so tasty and I feel happy wearing them on my skin 🙂 I like them because their sweetness is not cheap and sickening. Classy sweetness.

  23. :

I love this perfume; the introduction is absolutely fabulous, like the name “showtime” suggests: the lights go down, dark velvet curtains open on stage and suddenly this gorgeous sweet perfume hits your skin in a purple blast of cotton candy, flowers and liquorice, held together by the blackcurrant and strawberry notes! The EDP smells so divine you want to taste the blackcurrant notes that are so juicy, they make your mouth water 🙂 Hours later the EDP still smells pretty much the same, the liquorice and fruit notes are fainter but still present and so well balanced out by the praline note. “Showtime” is so yummy, womanly, classy and uniquely different. The EDP and EDP are quite different I see, I did not realise that the EDP has a sweeter marshmallow note in it and doesnt have as many middle notes. I had the EDP already and now am trying the lighter version of EDT which I already tested and it definitely did not disappoint. A brilliant gourmand fragrance with a name that suits it so well, well done, Kylie!

I think this is the worst perfume I’ve ever smelled. It’s very very sickly sweet out of bottle and on skin. Very strong smell of strawberries. If you’re prone to bad headaches or migraines you probably want to give this a miss. Smells very immature. I would describe it as a “My First Perfume” suitable for 9 or 10 year old girls first perfumes who want to smell like a sweet shop. When I was younger I got a ‘Perfume Making Kit’ for X-mas and of course all the scents were rubbish and sickly sweet and it reminded me of that!

BUMP… written as Guest before I joined. Bumping so it goes in my reviews. I hope that is ok 🙂
I tried this and had to go back and get it. I normally dont like very sweet perfumes that give me a headache, so its strange that I like this. I dont find it to be very flowery. Showtime is very sweet like fairyfloss and strawberries at first but then it goes musky and sort of spicy on my skin with a gorgeous smell in there. I cant figure out what that smell is… I love it. I guess it must be liquorice? It doesnt really smell like liquorice to me… its spicier. It also lasts a long time on my skin 🙂

This smells a lot like licorice and wild strawberries. Extremely sweet !!!

Someone said below that it smelt like strawberry shortcake dolls, and I agree 100%! Not that there’s anyting wrong with that, it was a lovely nostalgic trip to when I was young and didnt have a care in the world! The bottle is really spectacular, and looks perfect in my black, white and pink room. Suprisingly, the boyfrind didn’t like this one, I feel its slightly too girlie and sweet, and not enough fruitiness! Overally, perfectly pretty perfume, great price too!
Edit: I can’t believe there is no honey listed in the notes?! Whenever I wear it, after a couple of hours everyone always comments on who smells like honey!

    This scent is adorable!
Yeah, as some have said, there is something synthetic about it that reminds me of a vinyl doll, and yes, it does remind me of Pink Sugar, too. And I find the licorice to remind me of LL all the way in the drydown.
There are so many elements I am comfortable with in this perfume. Whether from nostalgia from my old dolls, the candied berries and sugar cotton candy, or the warmth of licorice and pralines…
I guess I’m a creature of habit. So it’s a win for me and I’m sold. Even if I might not fit the age bracket this might have been marketed for.

I love the review here that it smells like Strawberry Shortcake dolls because how funny the first thing that popped into my head when smelling Showtime was Strawberry Shortcake doll! I kind of wish I bought the edp version because I had to spray about 3 times on the same area to even smell the scent. I’m going to guess this is not going to last even an hour on my arm. Smells very similar to Sexual Sugar by Michael Germaine, so if you really like Showtime I would suggest buying Sexual Sugar which lasts a LONG long time. So this sort of starts off like strawberry shortcake and is ending up like Pink Sugar. I do like it, but it’s nothing special. If the top notes lasted throughout then it would be different, but it settles into the pink sugar smell very fast.. if you can even smell it 🙂 I think it’s best if anything to buy the edp of showtime

I was about to order this without smelling it just by reading reviews which highlighted the berries, sweetness and fruits but thank God I found a tester in Boots as it was not my sort of thing. It didn’t even smell like perfume, I dunno how to describe what I smelt but it was like medicine or something.

Theres something about this perfume that makes me spray it on, i dont even like it. I think its the top notes, cos they smell so yummy, but after that just foget it, i dont like the smell of liqorice in it, it makes it a bit to dark for my personal taste. x

That perfume is just perfect for young people like meyself and i would suggest it to everybody who likes sweet fruity scents its great!

Sweet,Fruity and a strong sense of powder.. Pretty and Girly but I think this one is for a younger crowd

  34. :

It’s similar to EDP starting with too heavy berrys. The base is less sweeter than EDP but it still has this same synthetic feeling. I wanted to like it because I like Kylie but it’s just not for me.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

I loved the top notes but it turned in to be to heavy for me, I really get nauseous and can’t stand it. perhaps it’s the licorice? Anyway it has a good lasting power, so that’s good if you like it.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

I like this one, it smells very sweet and fruity with lots of licorice. I will have to try EDP because it has a bit different ingredients

  37. :

    4 out of 5

The bottle and the name are absolutely perfect for the scent: It smells as sweet and girly as the hot pink bottle, and when it’s ‘showtime’ it’d probably be the best moment to wear this fragrance. Scents are always a matter of taste, and especially this one. It’s really fruity and sweet, but on a skin like mine it has a really dark base tone. I like that, and that’s why I bought it. I’d definitely not reccommend it to anybody, ’cause it has an other effect on different types of skins.

I was really surprised by the negative reviews about this perfume. I have purchased an EDT online without sniffing and I dont regret at all.
It is a very nice berry scent without being overly sweet, nothing like Disney like Britney scents (no offence but they smell horrible and too sugary on my skin) this one smells like a nice, yummy berry jam. And the bottle is so chic! It is like kind of a gem. I even love looking at it 🙂
Pinky, girly, cute perfume with good lasting power… I am glad to have it in my collection.

I got this perfume to use as a tester for my business.
I have to say after one wear im buying another bottle for personal use also,
this is a suprising and complex fragrance, its juicy, fruity and sweet and has this ace peppery tone.
it has nice wearability and the bottle is a good size and weight to transport with you to keep fresh.
this is a nice wearable scent for sunny days.
my customers are loving it also

Now this is gonna sound weird but I think this perfume smells exactly like doll heads. You know…kind of like “Strawberry shortcake” dolls. lol. It’s got a strong stawberry vibe to it and it also smells a bit plasticy (Which I think is cool) The opening almost smells like..fruity gum sweets, and then when it starts to dry..that’s when it gets that doll sorta smell. The liquorice is apparent too but it’s understated, it just adds a slightly unsusual twist to what would otherwise be a sugar berry fest!
Smells Pinky Purple, young, and fun. Great scent for the right person.
The only let down is the staying power, it lasts about an hour so..it’s a bit dissapointing, the EDP has just been released though so, go for that if you like the notes in this perfume.

I love Kylie Minogue’s music, so I wanted to go for her perfumes. Show Time reminds of the playful, sweet and radiance of a show gal!
The sweet tangy berries and spicy vanilla with licorice laced with woody bases and wreathed with breath taking flowers can blow away the shadow that hides a girls true talent and charisma.
The praline, Brazilian rosewood and white musk controls the perfume from being too sweet which gives it a calmed and poised sweetness.
The bottle is lovely to hold. This perfume is not to categorized for teenagers only. Barbie perfumes are easy to recognize. Perfumes like Showtime should be given more credit.
I love it! The scent of berries and spices with charm makes people around me giggle or smile. Although the scent fades away quickly, it is worth every spritz! xoxox

  42. :

I love this. It starts off super sweet but then has a really powdery dry down that’s a lot more elegant than the teen start. I can’t think of another gourmand fragrance that it’s a match with, it’s slightly unusual. When ifirst smelled it I wasn’t a fan but after being given a sample vial I was converted. As others have noted, the staying power is outstanding. I’m using the shower gel at the moment and find that it alone gives a lasting scent.

Very glamorous and joyful fragrance. combines notes of wild strawberry and blackcurrant with a luscious rose, freesia and tiger lily heart.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

This is pure, unadulterated sweetness. On me this isn’t very floral at all: just a jam / candy sweetness with a bit of lilac, that turns into pink cotton candy, marshmallows, and pralines. (Is anyone else hungry?) Lasting power is good – four hours and still going strong.
If I’m completely honest, it’s a bit much for my tastes. But if you’re a fan of Pink Sugar, you might want to give this one a try.

  47. :

    3 out of 5

I’ve got it as a present, and I began to use it and I think it’s pleasant, even though I found it disgustingly sweet when I tested it once in a store.
The first accords are a bit strong and teeny, but soon it disappears leaving a sweet, sophisticated aroma, which lasts for some hours. Finally, only a soft, kinda cotton-candy scent remains on the skin, which is lovely.
I like it, and if I won’t be bored from it later, I’ll buy another bottle.
The bottle is beautiful, I love the disco-sphere shaped glass.
According to fragrantica the EDT and EDP versions of Showtime have different notes, is it true?? Strange…

  48. :

    3 out of 5

SHOWTIME comes in EDT and EDP varients. The perfume is a nicer scent – the notes blend together much moe subtly.
This isn’t anywhere near original; the liquorice and berries are very reminiscent to Pink Sugar, especially when coupled with the foody base notes.
But I think Pink Sugar is more subtle then this, if you can believe that.
I used to be a big fan of Kylie, but I think it’s time to grow up now & stop making tween scents to empty younger fans piggie banks…

  49. :

    5 out of 5

I find it too sweet and even a bit weird, to be honest. I guess it’s the licorice aroma that causes this dislike. Not my cup of tea, this fragrance.

Lovely bottle that resembles an over-sized gem! Sweet, fuity scent that makes me feel comforted and girly. Think of your grandma’s homemade strawberry jam tart and warm, sunny days. Delicious!

At first, it’s still juicy and sweet, but after some time you can smell an ugly, heavy sweetness that’s just disgusting.
