As its name suggests this is a little sister of Guerlain Shalimar. However, Shalimar is one of those “too much of everything” perfumes for me. It suffocates me with its grandeur and richness of smocked lemons and vanilla and I could not for the life of me put up with it for more than 10 min. Shalilar on another hand has lightness to it, yet retains the quality of complex perfume, so yes, I prefer this one to Shalimar, for sure. It is an absolutely beautiful fragrance and for those who love Shalimar, but found it too heavy and unwearable, Shalilar is a damn gorgeous alternative.
