Description

The new collection by Michael Kors, which includes not only fragrances, is launched in August 2013. A step towards beauty and care products will enable the modern woman to select new cosmetic products and Michal Kors make-up, besides various fragrant collections. Each of the three directions of the collection—Sporty, Sexy or Glam, will be complemented with special colors of make-up, various shades of nail polish; eye shadows and powder available in three shades accompany the sporty, sexy or glamorous look.

The names of the new fragrances are Sporty Citrus, Amber Sexy and Jasmine Glam, and they are available in tall, glass flacons as 30, 50 and 100ml with a golden color stopper.

Sexy Amber was signed by perfumer Harry Fremont who selected notes of warm amber, white flowers and sandalwood for this fragrance.

I just tried it a few days ago. Started off pure amber, mildly sweet. On me it lost the sweetness and was a very linear, masculine amber. Not for me.

    Not the most interesting amber.

Smells like white suede by Tom ford, but more feminine.

I love this perfume, smells sexy. Lasting power and sillage great, the best of all three!

It’s a soft white florals with a soft woody base, no amber detected in here. a daily usage fragrance, nothing spectacular. Great for a workplace.

Blind bought this and had a big surprise to notice it smells exactly the same as Indian Night Jasmine by the Body Shop. Kind of a let down because is not unique and also I already had Night Jasmine. Should’ve known… it does smells and projects a little more though. Good, but not extraordinary. Is a very warm and sweet scent, more of a nightime fragrance for going to sleep.

Sweet perfume. First squirt reminded me of Anne Klein (1984), a bit (but that stuff was more like classical, and not this sweet.) Squirts are very lovely, at least before they dry.
I tried to search the smell on my wrist after only few minutes… it stayed somewhere on my neck, and kept hiding from my own nose, mostly. But someone else noticed it after hours.
When smelling the cap the first time, one thinks: “Teenagers must love this.” The perfume is not a copy of Allure, which is like “from the Lady’s cabin”. This doesn’t have that lovely very fine soft thing at all, and actually doesn’t remind me of Allure at all.
    Test 1: luxurious. _Sweetness_ underlined.
Test 2: fresher than I remembered. Soon cardboard-smelling. Cardboard-flower mix. The flower thing is a bit bitter, and as though smelling real flowers on balcony/vase, which are there because of their outlook.
Skin scent after 3 hours: beautiful feminine. 6 hours: still there.

This is the perfect amber perfume and the name “Sexy Amber” is very suited for it. Unlike Hermes – Ambre des Merveilles whcih is quite strong but in an annoying and almost unnatural way, Sexy Amber is very creamy, intense but not offensive and lasts very much on the skin. I agree that it has similarities with Chanel Allure, but unlike Chanel, the amber is the predominant note in Sexy Amber.

When I sprayed this on I thought…this is it! My perfect amber fragrance. It’s warm, creamy, lovely. Then, asked the husband what he thought and he hated it! 🙁 The hunt continues.

Project “finish samples”… this one is not for me. It isn’t bad, just doesn’t feel like something I would wear. Too mature in some way, not in a negative sense but not something I gravitate towards. It’s too much of a “perfumey” perfume, lol!

This is gorgeous! Sexy Amber is the perfect name for it. It’s a real glamorous showstopper! The amber is sparkling and loud but not obnoxious, just sexy and flirty. A perfect 3rd date fragrance or for an evening attending a special event.

  13. :

Ok, so I’m a sucker for loud, alluring, scent trail fragrances like Alien, Angel, Flowerbomb and this adds to the category of such things. I don’t wear it often but when I do I get sooooo many compliments! I bought the gift set and I almost always use the shower gel, then I layer myself in the lotion and then use three spritz of the perfume. It can be overused and overwhelming if used more than 3 spritz. But I love it! No disappointments over this way! I recommend this for anytime of the day. You won’t be disappointed 🙂

I find this fragrance in the smallest dose gives me a headache, it feels artificial, loud and unrelenting in it’s silage.Sexy to me is subtle, nuanced and leaves you wanting to get closer. For me that’s FM’s Dries Van Noten or Helmut Lang edp.

I saw this today at Sam’s Club. I came home and immediately looked it up here. It sounds to me as if it may have some similarities to Estee Lauder Youth Dew Amber Nude, which I love and can never find anymore.
If anyone knows whether or not Sexy Amber is anything like Amber Nude, please could you let me know? Thank you!

This is a simple but beautiful fragrance. There are only three notes comprised of warm resinous amber, clean and soft sandalwood, and subtle white flowers. I like it a lot.

I think when you first spray it, yes it’s smell like Chanel Allure
but when you wait until the it get develop, it became annoying chemical scent. Very headache though.
I really love chanel Allure (the version I have is produced in 2013)
but I would be pleased, if I can replace it with another fragrance that smell like it but cheaper.
I’ve tired MK sexy amber I don’t think it’s the answer for someone who looking for Allure dupe.

Sexy Amber on my skin is only male’ish creamy Sandalwood. Nice on a man but not on me. No sexy wibe at all.

There’s no better way to make something sound déclassé than to name it ‘Sexy Amber’. Thanks Mike.
The actual scent is nice, very simple, great if you’re into amber (surprisingly). That’s most of what I pick up; every so often I do get a trace of the sandalwood. Here it says the third note is just ‘white flowers’, though most other sources (Sephora, Parfumo) claim it’s jasmine. I don’t really smell this, it’s probably quite muted and just put in there to highlight the amber. I’m not sure it really goes in stages, it just seems to be all amber, all the time. Like I said, very simple. I do actually get a hint of a Mugler’s Alien, though Amber is much sweeter, gentler and more tender a scent; a more innocent and timid cousin.
It’s quite nice, but that’s all it is. Nice. It’s gentle, though personally I find it more playful than ‘sexy’. It is super versatile, though, and I find I can use it for almost any weather or occasion!

I must say, I`m very impressed. I had yesterday 3 sprays on my wrist, it`s been 24 hours and I still smell it. I`m not fond of the name “sexy amber”, this scent deserves a more sophisticated name. The first 20mn I got something very fresh citrusy unisex kind of scent and was about to write it off as disappointing but then, then came the beauty, warm amber mixed with white flowers, BEAUTIFUL. Sexy? not very sure more of classy. I would have called it “Haunting Amber”.I`m already a big fan of Michael Kors signature and now this, it looks like it`s time to investigate all the rest of his fragrances. Extremely pleased with my purchase.

At first, not a huge fan. Tried again and now I love it! It does resemble Allure which was my wedding fragrance last May! Yes, still a classic…
I really think this smells better than Allure. And I think where you live has a huge effect on how this smells. In New Mexico it’s dry as can be. SA smells amazing! My Allure smells terrific here too. When I am in a humid climate — not good with either of these. There is a lot to be said about location and how all of these gorgeous fragrances smell. We should all start to add where we live to our comments. This might help so many people! Then again, it’s about body chemistry too. But maybe the location detail will help in a small way.
Final comment — Sexy amber is a beautiful fragrance! I’m so glad I have this…hoping this is as glorious to others as it is to me!
    Happy New Year!!

I have to agree there is something artificial about this fragrance. Not horrible but too chemical to be pleasant. Disappointing.
Why are Kors scents so soapy?

  23. :

    5 out of 5

Sensual, powdery and even creamy yet Amber scent with a small splash of floral and an ever so slight sandalwood. Definitely an evening scent.

  24. :

Very beautiful, very sweet, sandalwoody and amber. Sexy? Not really.

  25. :

If your name is Amber you should definitely make this your signature lol. It’s a beautiful scent of strong amber white floral and ends powdery. The notes blend well together and it’s nothing overwhelming or cheap.

Picked up my order of MK Sexy Amber at my local Macy’s in Miami. I’d previously smelled a sample on paper (magazine) and was intrigued by the scent hoping it would come off stronger on me/my skin than on paper. Truth be told this is almost exactly the same as on paper and in person. It’s a powdery soft subdued polite amber woodsy floral. It’s not as sexy as the name would suggest. It’s more casual, laid-back and sweet, powdery, intimate and innocent.
Not a complex or long lasting scent lacking in the traditional top, middle, and base note formula. Only a trio of notes: amber, white flowers, sandalwood. The sandalwood is in the most minimal of doses but it does come through in the dry down though it’s mainly amber. The white flowers are nondescript and hard to identify maybe a jasmine and a white rose or gardenia. There is also a dash of vanilla in this scent and perhaps something balsamic but not heavy. It’s very discreet and not a headache inducer nor overpowering scent. Sits close to the skin and doesn’t project. Reminds me of sun tan lotion and in the same league as Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess.
Good for any time of the year but seems tailor made for autumn and winter. This is a cozy and very comfy type of scent. Reminds me of those ‘cozy’ feminine frags like Charlie Gold or Donna Karan Cashmere Mist. It’s soothing and pleasant. I’m very pleased with this purchase but this is going to go in the back of my wardrobe until October-November-December-January. Right now I long for cooler fresher zestier citrusy or aquatic fruity summery perfumes. This one is very nice. The only downside is the thing doesn’t last long and one has to reapply. Still a good perfume.

I do love amber in fragrances, however I find them most appealing when rich, resinous and syrupy. Sadly Sexy Amber by Michael Kors smells far too tame on my skin and is not what I’d personally consider sexy.
Admittedly I am disappointed in this fragrance, especially seeing that many reviewers described Sexy Amber in such a way that it had me dying to try it. Sexy Amber for the most part is a creamy sandalwood scent highlighted by nondescript white florals and sweetened amber. It’s smooth rather than bold. A casual day to day scent, not a sensual evening scent like the name implies.
I would have to agree that Sexy Amber and Chanel’s Allure EDP do have some similarities. They both share a powdery, creamy aroma that wears very much like a skin scent. Delicate and smooth fragrances like Sexy Amber certainly have their place in the perfume world, but I can think of far better amber scents that encapsulate the warmth and cuddlyness of amber much better than this release.
On a more favourable note, Sexy Amber has excellent longevity despite its less than desirable sillage. I would advise against a blind purchase, not because this fragrance is offensive but because it’s not quite what you’d expect from an amber scent.

  28. :

    5 out of 5

Yep really smells like Chanel’s Allure, without the lil’ citrus note. a really powdery and comforting scent, but not what i would expect as amber.

  29. :

    4 out of 5

How does anyone know whether to try this, or not, with that description?
    “White flowers” is not enough.
Ninuci, from what I have gathered, I think you are probably correct about these later releases, unfortunately; but, the signature Michael Kors fragrance is still very nice.

This review goes to pretty much all Michael Kors fragrances: artificial, cheap, generic scents. They all give me headache. Maybe because I’m a 90s freak and I’m prejudiced against 2010s When it comes to perfumes (I’m actually in my 30s but I remember and appreciate the magic of 90s scents).

The scent of any perfume always conjures an imagined experience in my mind. Instead of listing off what notes stand out to me, I find it easier to explain how it makes me feel or maybe a related setting that helps describe the fragrance.
Within 5min of the first spritz, Sexy Amber painted a scenario of me sitting by the fireplace on a cool Autumn evening, the room is filled with candle light. I’m curled up on an over stuffed couch, wearing a super soft cashmere sweater and sipping hot spiced cider.
This perfume smells warm, a tad mysterious, soft, inviting, uncomplicated, yet self-assured and confident. It may sound silly I but think it smells more “comfortable” than it does “sexy”. Come to think of it, I only feel sexy when I am comfortable, so I guess it makes sense. I really like it. I also like that we share the same name, Amber (just minus the Sexy, lol)

  33. :

My Mother gifted this to me and I am not too sure whether I like it or not. It smells a bit to singularly amber for my liking but I must wear it a few times before really reviewing.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

This is a very decent, elegant perfume, safe for gift giving. The opening on my skin was that of a luxurious sandalwood soap but then the floral and amber notes kicked in and it turned lovely. Good sillage and longevity.
It is very complimenting to one’s natural scent, which can make it sexy for close encounters but I would say it’s a safe perfume for all occasions.
For all its good qualities, I didn’t fall in love with that one. Maybe I should give it a second chance and try again.

  35. :

At first this seemed a little overpoweringly sultry, but it’s growing on me – went from a like to a love. It’s just so wearable, obviously sexy (the name is a straight-shooter, you get what you see!) but not clamoring for attention. It’s definitely an amber, but the sandalwood is most prominent on me. At first I didn’t detect florals, but after each wearing, jasmine is blooming more and more. The notes are few and simple but create a luscious overall experience. This is a fantastic date-night fragrance.

  36. :

    3 out of 5

This is nice, I got a bit of an old vibe with this, and glam jasmine, but I’m actually not bothered. It’s got a richness, I called cheesecakey ad the dolce and gabbbana intense one does. I get a slight powder edge, but it’s not a baby powder bomb like 24k brilliant gold is.
It’s not It fruity, it’s not fresh, it’s rounded, it’s sharp creamy I guess.
Good lasting power, 5-6 hours. Bit pricey though

  37. :

    4 out of 5

I love simple short formula perfumes and this makes no exception. It is only made of 3 notes which blend together perfectly for a warm, sexy, feminine grand finale. The perfume remains pretty much the same from the first spritz to the final drydown on my skin with the difference that becomes more cloying and cozy as the hours pass. A good point for me is that this scent isn’t overly sweet so it doesn’t give me a headache or the feeling that I want to vomit. Maybe because the amber note is well blended with the sandalwood and I can get a clear woody note throughout the whole development. Not a complex smell but it surely turns me in a good mood immediately and makes me come back for more. I love this on my skin. It makes me think of a young confident woman ready to show the world her character with no reservations. Great sillage and longevity by the way and a would also be a wonderful gift for all women.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

Feminine, elegant, and intimate. Michael Kors Sexy Amber is an intoxicating blend of amber, sandalwood, and white flowers. The sexiness here is of the cream colored cashmere and silk variety. If Yves Roche Voile d’ Ambre and Donna Karan Cashmere Mist rolled around on a bearskin rug, this would be their love child. It bathes the skin in softness for 6-7hrs and ends in the most beautiful sandalwood dry down. There is a tinge of laundry detergent aroma, but in a subtle, nose tickling way that reminds me of champagne bubbles.
Projection is a decent 2-3 foot radius on initial burst, which can become headache inducing if you are heavy handed. It mellows within a half hour and is noticeable within arm’s distance for the duration of wear. This makes it great for daytime use in the winter or evening events. Sexy Amber creates an inviting aura of warmth, elegance, and intimacy. Not overtly sexy, but accessible, approachable, and lovely.
    Scent: 9/10
    Sillage: 8/10
    Longevity: 7/10

Smells just like Moroccan argan oil shampoo to me. Very masculine. Not for me but it does have a spicy, clean smell.

Others have mentioned some Victoria’s Secret and BBW scents, but this to me is a girlier, younger cousin of Victoria’s Secret Rapture. And by younger I mean 35 instead of 60 lol. Still grown, mature. I love both regardless of age range. But this is closer to Rapture than the Bijan EDT even.

My girlfriend has this fragrance and it’s been her most complimented fragrance and it’s my own personal fragrance to smell on her. It works on her skin about as well as Aventus works on my skin.
This smell is very fresh but it also has a nice, soft, warm inviting appeal to it that’s very attractive. I wouldn’t say this smell is sexy but it’s very, very pleasant and inoffensive !!!
If they made a men’s version of this scent I’d buy it in an instant !
Performance on this is very good as well ! It projects moderately on her skin for 3-4 hours but never becomes cloying and/ or overly loud and it lasts her 6-12 hours ( longevity has been sketchy)
In a nutshell this scent is lovely and it does very well in the performance category (with only 2-3 sprays)
Sidenote: This is perfect for those type of women that want to smell good and inoffensive but at the same time don’t want to be too loud.
Overall rating– 8.5 out of 10 ! I LOVE this on my girlfriend

  43. :

    Nothing “sexy” about it.
Smells more like old make-up (powder) than amber to me.
Sprayed it once and it was nearly gone by the time I went out of the store.
    Also too expensive.
I think of something positive to say but nothing comes to mind. This is definitely not for me.

  44. :

I agree with Blue Orchid’s review – it is playful and sensual. With only few notes, it is very well blended. The white flower seems to be a top note, as I smell that mostly right up front. Then it is mostly Amber as it dries down, with a bit of sandalwood, and a hint of the white flowers in the background. It is a lovely, cozy scent. I picked up a sample from Sephora and I’m sitting, wrapped in a blanket, and can’t keep sniffing my hand.
I would recommend it for anytime, day or night, even for the office, and any time of year. I can see it being unisex as well. I would love to smell this on my husband! He would never try it if he knew it was marketed as a female scent. So I think I may just tell him I got another sample for him and see how it smells!!!! If he likes it we can add it to his small collection (but growing thanks to Fragrantica!), and I’ll sneak some and share it!
Sometimes I’m just hoping I won’t like the sample. It will save money. But like this Sexy Amber, I like it so much that now I will be haunted by it, and remembering it, and missing it, till I finally buy a bottle so that I can smell it at any time the craving arises.
I’m having so much fun with fragrances since I stumbled across this Fragrantica website! It has changed my world!! Each day becomes a new adventure with trying out different scent samples that I’ve gotten from Sephora and Nordstrom, and even some blind buys based on reviews. It’s like a daily fragrance theme! I’m slowing building up a “fragrance wardrobe” from what started as only a couple that I’d been wearing for years.
Five stars for sillage and longevity! I like a heavy sillage and this meets it. You can use a light hand and it will be perfect.

Ambers are usually turn sickly sweet on my skin. This one does not because it is tempered with the sort of dirtier notes – -the sandalwood and the animalic notes. It has been tough for me to fins this balance in an amber fragrance. I will purchase fully bottle.
This one is very unisex, as well.

  46. :

    4 out of 5

Blind buy for me too, based on the reviews here. I love Allure, so when I saw here that Sexy Amber is similar, I went ahead and purchased a 50ml bottle. On my skin this is identical to Allure, but more subtle and less sweet (a tiny bit actually), which is fine with me; I intend to use this at work and Allure was a bit too strong for a small open place office. Will definitely buy a 100ml bottle. This is warm and beautiful, cozy and sexy indeed.

  47. :

    4 out of 5

Simple and pretty. Almost pure amber. If you like the scent of amber, you will love this. Good sillage on this one.

  48. :

A blind buy that I’m quite pleased with. Yes, from me that is ‘faint praise’, but I am not damning this one…just relegating it to everyday. I’m making allowances because my husband could smell it across the room & commented.I hadn’t thought it projected that much, so I guess I’m a tough reviewer! Lovely soft white flowers, mellow Amber, will be loved by many I’m sure.

  49. :

This was a scrubber for me. Stale and sour amber…not sexy, not cute. It was like smelling flowers that a cat peed on the week before, after it stewed in the sun in 110 degree weather, getting nice and ripe. Lol.

  50. :

    3 out of 5

I get the most is amber blended with orange blossom and gardenia. Sandalwood is too minimal in this composition. This perfume remind me of Chanel Allure (female version) and CK Beauty; mean that, lighter version of those been mentioned. They not exactly similar but they share some similar notes. BTW, it is easy to wear and pleasant to my nose. Longevity is about 4-5 hours.

  51. :

    4 out of 5

Sexy amber is like the sexier sweeter cousin of Cashmere Mist..IMO if I had to compare it to another scent.. So if you’re into powdery-esque scents && like Cashmere Mist but feel it might be a lil too mature for you, then I’d say give this a try. It has the sensuality that cozy; longevity’s pretty bomb but favors a pretty moderate sillage. All around it’s a pretty decent scent if you enjoy something deeper.
    Nice! 😀

  52. :

    5 out of 5

Not a silage monster at all! This sits close to the skin, and the longevity is really superb. A truly classy, beautiful, woody amber. Sensual and soft. IDK how anyone could think this is offensive in anyway. Trust me, so many have complemented me on this and ended up buying it for themselves, my man finds it very sexy as well. 9/10.

  53. :

Baby powder! Esp on the dry down
The opening is so gorgeous, like a juicy floral, it changes into a powder with a spice edge. I predict that it will have a decent lasting power
    Johnson and johnsons baby powder.
    There is floral in there
I’ve got Armani mania on the other arm, and these two have a note able powder note, mania is warm, sexy Amber is cool.

When I sniff the tester I already liked it..it defines class and beauty. I let my husband sniff the tester too and he is so in love with it. He wanted me to buy the perfume right away. I had the salesman spray the tester on me so I can check my body chemistry will on this. We had some walking done around the mall and my husband says the smell linger and he is like crazy sniffing it 🙂

I really wanted to love this fragrance. So much so I immediately ordered the boxed Sexy Amber Perfume Gift Set directly from the Michaels Kors website before ever sampling it elsewhere.
This fragrance is an absolute assault on the senses. O.M.G… There is no way this could be described as “light”. It’s heavy, like a thick fog of dark Halloween Zombie fog machine aroma. Not at alllllll what I expected. Idk who writes reviews sometimes because describing this as anything other than a heavy extremely STRONG perfume would be insane to me. I wasn’t even able to spray it! Simply taking the cap off instantly overwhelmed my car! I’m just glad I didn’t open it inside the post office.
It instantly reminded me of the 80’s when Calvin Klein launched the world’s cruelest headache instigating perfume along with hilariously ambiguous Obsession perfume Ad’s.
If you insist on wearing this fragrance please, please, PLEASE stay away from groups of people. Wear it if you work from home or have no friends. Seriously. Or maybe spray it on yourself before driving alone in your convertible for an hour.

  56. :

Really nice an inoffensive amber-heavy (as the name would suggest) perfume. It starts off quite strong on my skin but the dry down is more floral-y and sweet with sandalwood wafting in at the end, I love a sandalwood base in perfumes. Silage is also really good – around 5 hours which on me is very good! For some reason most perfumes don’t hold well on my skin…!
Lovely classic bottle and (Sexy!) Amber juice – decadent and classic. 🙂
I would class this as a winter day scent but I wear summer perfumes in 3 foot of snow 😛

I was so excited to try this. This is my first Michael Kors perfume I have ever tried.
I really hoped it to be sexy and sweet amber fragrance. I was hoping for something similar to Aerin’s Amber musk. This is not similar to that at all. There’s amber, but it’s not smooth and sexy. It’s quite plain and in the base notes, there’s a very disappointing smell, strong offensive “too much” kind of ambery undertone.
So now I know, there are amber fragrance’s that I love and there are one’s I can’t stand at all.

  58. :

Really like this fragrance. I find it warm, soft and gentle. The first layer smells of soft amber and woods, then I can smell a combination of very soft flower notes, followed by vanilla and sandalwood. This perfume is blended really well. It deserves a lot of praise and could well go on to be a classic. I find myself wearing this perfume day and night. Very addictive.

  59. :

    5 out of 5

Rich with amber and heavy, this is very unusual and can be unisex in my opinion. I also think that this could be the lighter version of Chanel No.5 with less bitter and powdery notes. The amber is predominate at first, then the white flower kicks in then it becomes a warm and cozy scent with a hint of sandalwood on the background. The scent is quite classic in my opinion, yet beautiful and seductively sultry in some way. I can see how some may not like this but my chemistry works beautifully with this fragrance.
To be honest it wasn’t love at first sight for me. I received a free miniature when I bought a full bottle of MK Glam Jasmine. Perhaps my mind was playing tricks on me as I’ve smelt too many perfume on the day I bought Glam Jasmine.
My love for Sexy Amber grew when I put it on right after shower one day. And after that I am just hooked entirely! I’ll get a full bottle for sure one day!
I can’t wear this all the time. it’s perfect for an evening wear but you can also get away with it for daily wear. It makes me feel sophisticated, elegant and attractive!

MK Sexy Amber is a beautiful scent on paper tester and tissue. Alas, it is not beautiful on me. It is the most powdery amber I’ve ever smelled. I was drawn to it because of this.
The white flowers screech on my skin and never die down, and there is plenty of powder. It ended up smelling much like body powder from the grocery store on me, and that is an association I don’t want. It had pretty good longevity on me, but sillage was close. I did not find it sexy. I’m sure this is a great, simple, maybe even sexy, fragrance on the right chemistry.

I have this scent since last winter.
At first, I really loved it. It’s a quite sophisticaded, powdery amber scent in a beautiful luxurious bottle. It stands out, it’s one of a kind. But on me, after a while, the love went away.. It’s not that I don’t like it, but I also do not love it.. It’s just not me.

    Woody Dry Amber
So, Sexy Amber. The thing that sticks out for me is its lack of sweetness, and absence of patchouli. So many ambers are chock full of patchouli, and are unbearably sweet for some reason. This is pleasantly dry, and instead of patchouli for woods, sandalwood is used instead. I like that. SA is pretty linear, it is mostly a super sandy, dry, woody amber, a hint of white flowers, mostly gardenia, and a musky/powdery sandalwood. It really is a ‘your skin but better’ type of scent, and it reminds me a lot of Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess, minus the coconut, of course.
It lasts a really long time on my skin, 8+ hours, and I like it in the winter, but it think it will wear better in the summertime on heated skin–warm skin seems really bring out the floral notes.
It’s not old school sexy, but it isn’t today’s equivalent of sexy, either, with usually lies somewhere around smelling like a vanilla frosted cupcake with a side of hot chocolate.
I actually don’t have another amber that smells like this does, but now I do, and that concludes the story of why TillyWave has a Michael Kors Sexy Perfume on her shelf.
PS–I see that Harry Fremont is credited for Bronze Goddess (2012) so that makes a lot of sense that I would find them to be similar in feel.

It’s been many, many years since I’ve pursued a fragrance based upon a test strip I got in the mail. Recently I got some brochure (Ulta I think) that had samples of Michael Kors 24K Brilliant, White Luminous Gold, and Sexy Amber. The samples were folded into one pamphlet, so I wasn’t sure which scent was which. All I knew what that I was amazed at how much I was drawn to what turned out to be Sexy Amber. The original Michael Kors tuberose was my “signature” for awhile, but none of his releases after that made me feel like I “needed” it. Sexy Amber…this one I needed. I bought it the next day and I’ve been sniffing myself all day long for two days. This reminds me a LOT of Estee Lauder Intuition. I wore Intuition on a vacation in New Orleans, a long time ago, but whiffs of Sexy Amber keep bringing memories of that Pre-Katrina time. It also reminds me very much of Allure, which was another “signature” of mine at two different periods in my life. I owned Allure EDP and Parfum. Sexy Amber is like the top half of Allure. It definitely doesn’t have that Jacques Polge-ade going on, but it is lovely anyways. Chanels are my favorites, so nothing quite compares to them. Still, Sexy Amber seems like it has Aldehydes. They’re not listed but something in this creates their atmosphere. I think I’m in love!

What a gorgeous scent. It’s warm, creamy, and luxurious. Although I smell powder, it is blended very nicely. The impression I receive when I smell it is playful and sensual all rolled into one. Totally loving it.

I think this one is a bit expensive for what it is. It opens nicely, with sweet, nondescript white florals (the type that smell nice but don’t have any tie with reality) and a slightly masculine amber. Unfortunately the whole thing dries down very quickly to a nice smelling body lotion scent. Pity.

This grabbed some “WOW, you smell good!” compliments. Pretty close to Allure EDP – just a little brighter and more woodsy and without the bulbous Chanel cabochon, and without quite as much gender-specificity as the Chanel. The compliments I got weren’t prefaced with a gender comment. They were just, “WOW, you smell good!” With the gender-blender trends in recent perfumery, with unisex becoming more floral, and with masculine becoming more dandy and gourmand, this woodsy amber would be a masculine if the floral didn’t tip the balance to unisex. For guys who are comfortable with their identity and are tired of screechy citruses that disappear in an hour, you might give this a try, especially if you want to walk through a small cloud of a masculine gourmand (à la L’Homme Idéal de Guerlain) after applying the Kors. It’s versatile for layering that way. It’ll smell like good massage oil. It’ll smell like someone who gets hugs.

Sexy Amber? Oh yes for sure… Oh la la …
    I am testing it…
Strong amber and sweet flowers, it keeps changing, from flowers to amber to flowers again. Gorgeus so far. After the first strong blast it sits close to skin and soms with a moderate sillage. Drydown turns to pure amb
