There are no surprises here, notes you see are notes you get. Very light airy scent, note this ETP, is more like a body spray. Very quick to dry down and dissappear. More so than others in this line. So just be aware.

Am I wayyyy off with my sense or what??? Because I got one of the Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy vibes in this one!!! Anyway, it is a love for me 🙂 A little creamy, fresh, and fruity sweet, nothing special, but nothing off putting either. This one is a grab-and-spray-on-the-go, carefree, as it is good for that purpose. Sillage and longevity are good enough for what it is (very low price if you can find it at any thrift stores). Tommy Bahama is not known for powerhouse or niche fragrances. I still appreciate the house for the pleasant scents in general.

I had a choice between this and Very Cool for $30 at Perfumania over the weekend and it was a tough decision! Ultimately Very Cool was my choice but Set Sail Martinique was a noble runner up. Its defiantly a floral fruity as listed, but its not overbearingly sweet or cloying. You get the freshness of the apple, raspberry and citrus in the top, on me it dried down to an aquatic, fruity floral musk. Very feminine. Perfect for humid weather. I just may get myself a bottle after all. This is great for anyone who lives in a hot/humid climate (Florida is where I currently reside) or if you need to feel beachy or on vacation. I think this wont bloom in the cold, that may be why other reviewers complain about longevity.

Set Sail Martinique is not as tropical or as aquatic as I’d hoped it would be. Come on! With a name like Martinique a lovely island in the Caribbean one sort of wants it to smell of tropical flowers, the beach, summer, ocean breezes and so forth. This is not bad. I have the gift set which is available on Amazon.com. It’s pretty good despite the poor sillage very short life. It’s more of an after shower spray for summer.
Smells of sweet fruit at first a citrus note an apple note a peach note a raspberry. The mandarin orange is quite sour but not bad very juicy and mingles with the raspberry which comes through and is decidedly girly not womanly. This is as others have pointed out like Viva La Juicy or Siren by Paris Hilton that kind of scent. Very sweet and innocent definitely something a young girl would wear I’m talking under 18 but if you’re adult and love these kind of fruity florals this should be a treat. I like the fruit and the nondescript floral notes which smell of rose and jasmine. This is a light textured scent with a dry down of musk and a powder note. Smells like a really nice bubble bath. Delicious and sure to please everyone inoffensive scent not overpowering but wish it lasted longer.
I’m wearing it as Ariel on Disney Cruise Lines. Not a under the sea scent but already receiving compliments from kids. This can still smell of Ariel with the sweet girly youthful things I associate with her – red apple (red hair) floral notes (flowers on the sea bed) and musk because she is part animal as in part fish. Great for summer time day wear casual.
    Loving it!

    * These are my personal experiences/thoughts with this fragrance. Yours/others may differ. *
    Initial – orange + apple + berry
    Drydown – none
    Duration – 30 minutes
    Projection – soft
Experiences – This is the most aggravating perfume I own. Very pretty and sweet, but can only smell it for about 30 minutes, and poof, it’s gone. If it lasted longer, this would easily be a “love” for me.
Quick Thoughts – frustratingly short-lived, citrus, sweet, fruity, casual
Lotion – The matching lotion does nothing to help the longevity of the perfume. It also does not smell completely the same; has a bit of an alcohol scent to it.

Blind buy at Ross so price was right. I ADORE TB For Her so I took a chance on this. It matches well with my B&BW Endless Weekend lotion as they have similar notes and it seems to anchor the scent with a little bit more longevity. Summery, makes me want to make that five hour drive to the beach!

So sweet and fruity and tropical. I get lots of apple and mandarin and raspberry which mix so nicely. Very light on the florals. It has a very beachy aspect to it which makes it perfect for vacation or summer. It has pretty nice silage and lasts on clothes well.

Fruity, clean, crisp, sweet, and a little sour. It lasts through my shifts outside at work in the summertime, and I get compliments. It’s not my favorite but it’s nice to have so I’m not wearing the same scents every day. Got it for a steal at Marshalls so I can’t complain.

This is a lovely sweet scent. My husband bought me this as one of his favorites, as it reminded him of his childhood home in the Virgin Islands. This is really intoxicating and sweet, and I cannot see how it would be offensive to anyone.
My major challenge with the perfume is longevity– as in there is none. Even when I layer it with the lotion, it just doesn’t have much staying power which is disappointing as it smells so good!

I had bought the body spritz for a friend.I tested it and really liked it. It has a nice light and crisp clean scent. It reminds me of a day at the beach. I liked it so much. I bought the perfume for myself.

This is a pretty and feminine summer scent. It reminds me of a type of “beach breezes / clean cotton” scent. Not at all what I was expecting from the bottle or even the scent description. But I like it! Four sprays, two on my skin and two on my clothes, gets me through the day with this one.

Okay so I’ve had this now for about 24 hours and I feel the need to post a 2nd review. So, this scent is lovely. I find it reminds me of Couture LA LA by juicy couture and a few of those girly been done a million times type of scents-and don’t get me wrong I absolutly love those types. The problem with this is the lack of smell. It is gone just as fast as it was sprayed out of the bottle. Its actually unbelievable. It literally is gone when it hits the skin. The set I got had a mini purse version a 15mls bottle and I actually sprayed it ALL just to see if I could made it work and it didn’t,sadly! I sprayed it on my skin, my scarf, my PJs after a shower,my house coat…all with the hope I could pull it off. I’m really disappointed that this doesn’t last at all because the scent is lovely. Dollar store body spray would last better than this. I’m really bummed 🙁

I found a gift set of this today- 3.4OZ EDP, a mini 15ml EDP and a large body lotion for 19.99! I had never smelled this, but I love the very cool tommy Bahama so why not right!!! And I’m glad I did. It’s very nice. Starts off soft and stays soft but not understated. It does remind me of very cool a little bit. Little citrusy little musky…its nice!

This is a review of the body spray. This is a fruity, summery fragrance. Very likable for the summer months, or for any season as that goes. Creamy, fruity, coconut…so much to like. I bought four of the body sprays, simply for the fact that the edt was not available. This will be one of my staples for the summer. It is not dry like St. Barts, which I love as well. This is just a lovely, happy fragrance. I detect a mingling of the apple and orange that is just lovely.

This was a blind-buy that quickly turned into room spray only territory. This lasts as long as a body spray on my skin and clothes. Not worth even the mere $20 I bought it for at TJ Maxx.
Don’t get me wrong, it is a very nice scent that smells tropical and fruity, but what is the point if it does not even last? It sits in my bathroom along with my other perfumes for decor.

This was a blind buy as I found a gift set online for an amazing price and I couldn’t say no. I live in a very hot climate and something tropical and summery sounded like a great idea.
There is a very obvious raspberry with some apple to back it up. The floral notes are more subtle to me, but it all comes together quite pleasantly. It does smell rather cheap and synthetic, but for the bargain price I paid for it I really can’t be disappointed with this fragrance. It’s actually really growing on me and I enjoy it more each time I wear it.
The sillage is pretty good, it starts off projecting two meters or so, and settles down to a nice little bubble after a couple of hours. I get at least 6 hours longevity if I spray it on my clothing. The other night I sprayed it on my pyjamas and could still smell it the following morning, at least 12 hours later.
This fragrance is very very sweet and I find it to be quite “young” smelling. But it was definitely great value for money and overall I’m happy with it.

I can smell raspberry and floral notes. I like it. I wish it lasted longer, though. There is definitely the scent of mangoes in this as well.

This is a very pretty creamy tropical fragrance. I’m surprised to see that there’s no proper tropical fruits in the notes, because to me it smells like creamy mango and papaya. It’s soft and fruity and sweet, with just a tad of floral sharpness. The longevity is disappointing, I had to respray after approximately an hour.

Almost out of my Rochas Aquawoman–let the time get away from me, too late to order online as we are beginning 2 week Caribbean cruise in 4 days–
So…was shopping today in a local discount dept store, and got Tommy Bahama Martinique for practically nothing.
Now, I’m into it for about half hour, and I’m really liking it a lot.
To be continued…time will tell if all the other reviews on here are aplicable to this scent on my skin…

lol i did at least 10 sprays out of frustration once i noticed it vanishing…and on my clothing and i got it at least to a very light sillage…phew this perfume would be a full time job reapplying all day just to enjoy it so i guess i’ll just use it every night after my shower just to use it up…too bad because it really is a pretty scent

stardust808: You can try to spray it more to make it last longer. Not one spray, more like 10 or so 🙂

i dislike this fragrance not because of the way it smells but because it is so watered down…i wish it lasted longer. my boyfriend loves it and nibbled the spot i applied it but within a half an hour it is GONE!!! and thats layered with the body lotion!! such a shame…i’m tired of feeling ripped off every time i buy a fragrance anymore…whatever happened to the sillage bombs? smelling my perfume at the end of the day when i put it on at 8 am???? come on!! these companies really need to step it up…..

I have sunk a lot of cash into perfumes. Many have let me down as they smell great but 4 hours later they are nowhere to be found. Then there is Set Sail Martinique. I have been smelling it on my since I sprayed it 8 hours ago. Please spray on sleeve or clothing as it can vanish on body. On clothes it does not quit I promise you! It’s got such a gorgeous light yet extremely noticeable scent that lingers for hours and hours. It’s soft, subtle, clean, sexy and in my opinion absolutely perfect. This was a blind but and I am thrilled with it. If your seeking something you will continue to smell on your hours later without choking those around you give it a try. It’s floral but not nauseatingly so it’s just very clean and fresh and feminine!

love it! It smells bright and sweet- like key lime pie or powdered sugar covered lime melt-away cookies. It is a perfect summer pick for everyday wear and daytime events!

I’m very new to perfume review (this is actually my first), so bear with me:
I was looking for a “summery” fragrance because my Mitsouko, Cashmere Mist, and Chanel Coco just felt way too heavy (I started really working on a collection this winter) while a particular cherry blossom body spray I like seemed too light and temporary. While shopping online for some things, I found a great discount on Set Sail Martinique EDP and found the reviews I read intriguing, so I thought ‘why not?’ The price was right for a blind trial.
Straight away, I noticed a sort of sweet creaminess and tropical fruitiness in equal parts, and it smelled immediately of the best of summer — summer is my least favorite season because it’s always so oppressively hot where I live, but it has its pleasant points and this fragrance seems to call them all to mind. Fruity drinks, ocean smells coming in on a warm humid wind, maybe just the slightest whisper of smokiness (a beach bonfire?) — all those fun, happy things we associate with summer.
Some have commented that it doesn’t last very long on skin; I have noticed something to this effect. However, I like a light misting on my clothes as well as my skin, and I’ve found that it lasts quite well there. On the other hand, I’ve been told how lovely I smell by my husband even after I felt the smell was fading; I think perhaps this is so light and subtle that it’s still there, but it’s very easy for the wearer to become accustomed to and it becomes less noticeable. I still pick up traces now and again through the day, so I don’t think it just fades completely. It’s just not going to leap out at you after hours of wear.
Overall, I think it’s a very nice, but VERY seasonally niched, perfume. I couldn’t see wearing it anywhere outside the range of May to August (which is about how long summer lasts here, no matter what our calendars say). I’m tempted to leave the bottle in my fridge for the occasional spritz on hot days.

This is a very lemony limey island floral scent.
It is really simple, not too strong, and I think it would be perfect for a young girl’s first perfume.
Very clean and fresh, but a bit too plain for me.

I love Tommy Bahama Very Cool, Set Sail South Sea, and Set Sail St.Bart. I wanted this one really badly. Finally I bought it: huge disappointment! The longevity is almost non-existant. The scent is awfully simple. Waist of money.

I sampled this yesterday-this is really nice fruity, creamy and tropical scent. For about 10 minutes, that is. I kid you not, it dissappeared faster than most body sprays I own. WTH?! I loved it and was actually thinking that it would be worthy addition to my fragrance wardrobe until it completely dissappeared on my skin in less than 15 minutes. It would be a waste of money to buy this

I agree with the guest below. It’s great in the beginning and it does fade. The fragrance has a creamy feel to it, then it’s a little fruity. Afterwards, it’s floral with an aquatic vibe. This basically sums up what Set Sail Martinique is all about.
