On me it’s identical to Tempore Donna. I can’t tell the difference. It’s sweet and vanilla ice cream-like but does not last longer than an hour. I hate to reapply perfume during the day so I rarely spray this.

I snagged an almost full 70ml bottle for under $30 in the winter, because I couldn’t let it pass me by, but I am honestly glad that I didn’t pay more. It is okay, but it doesn’t get me over the moon like so many other Jil Sander frags. I starts out too spicy for me, and it turns very musky after a little while. I will try it a few more times under different weather conditions, maybe it will turn into love after all.
Tried it yesterday again, and it was rather green and slowly turned a bit mild and creamy before it evaporated into nothingness. Not long lasting at all, which I don’t mind, because with the exception of # 4, most Jil Sander frags just don’t hang around that long. I must say, I do like it a lot. It is not love, but pleasant enough. I am intrigued that it changes so much depending on weather and my own body chemistry at time of use. I never owned a fragrance before that changes its identity so much depending on outside influences. Will for sure keep it in my collection, even though it is not one of my “WOW, can’t live without” Jil frags such as Sun, Sun Delight, Style, #4, Style Pastels Soft Yellow and Simply Jil. But it’s still enticing, because ever time I apply it, it seems to smell differently.

I received a mini as a part of my birthday gift from a friend of mine so it’s been in my collection for more than four months but I was always too lazy to try it as I prefer spraying to dabbing(one of my biggest dreams would come true if they made mini perfumes with sprays).sensation is so good that I want to drink it.I have to check all the other perfumes of this brand(which is very underrated in my country)and if I can find a larger bottle of sensation I’ll buy it for sure
Sensation smells very lovely, easy to like for people with different tastes, maybe I can call it safe but it’s far from being generic or boring.on the contrary,I think it’s one of rare perfumes that even if I wear it repeatedly for a while,it won’t bore me
When first applied I can pickup a dominant orange note.not sour or zesty even a bit.this sweet orange is blended with a hint of other fruity note which doesn’t look like strawberry /raspberry on my skin to create a sparkly fruity accord which keeps the blend fresh all through it’s life.soft powdery vanilla/tonka,and a creamy touch of white florals are also detectable.this floralfruity vanilla combo becomes warmer and more powdery as it dries down and amber, musk and cedar come to stage.I can see traces of all the listed notes but actually they’re so well blended that I’m sure I wasn’t able to name them without seeing it’s pyramid.what I can easily see is that sensation is fresh and warm at the same time. It’s soft and sunny and comforting and has a soft and sweet milky deliciousness which seems very familiar and unique at the same time.it can put me in a good mood and can make a nice casual perfume but has also a sexy twist.I agree there’s something here reminding me armani lei(probably powdery tonka, vanilla) but they don’t smell similar.sensation is warmer and has a lovely fruity edge while armani lei is cold and soapy.I like armani lei a lot but I like sensation even more.I can’t judge Longevity and sillage just by dabbing drops of it but they seemed to be moderate.it seems to be discontinued and I’m sad to see this as I believe it could be a popular perfume if was widely available.”pleasant”is the first word coming to my mind while smelling it,indeed very pleasant

Sun is up, clear blue sky.
Yes spring is in the air.
You can feel the positive vibe that such a nice and sunny day brings.
This type of weather asks for something soft, something sweet and I found it in my bottle of sensations.
I take small sips of my iced latte when walking towards my work.
I enjoy seeing the people with a smile on their face.
Spring is in the air and we all feel it.
Sensations flutters around me and the fresh mandarin and raspberry make me feel fresh.
A few hours in and the mandarin and raspberry are gone and it is vanilla all the way.
Soft vanilla this is a very nice spring perfume! Sweet but crisp like a bite in a sweet and fresh Honey Crunch apple.

There is a word, “synesthesia”, that can be used to describe a certain relationship between taste and smell…the stimulation of a sensory or cognitive experience that causes a secondary, involuntary experience in another sensory or cognitive pathway. In other words, it smells like something tastes. This perfume brings back memories of cherry Tootsie Pops for me, and oh…how I loved them! I get the vanilla in this fragrance, but it’s more of a fruity floral to me. The raspberry is prominent and gives it that “Tootsie Pop” synesthesia. I really like this fragrance. Longevity is about 2.5 hours and the overall sillage is around 2 feet. I’ll just keep spraying. What a wonderful fragrance!

I think it’s confusing to list this as a citrus perfume. There is a bit of orange, and a splash of bergamot. Maybe it’s the combination of cedar, raspberry, and sharp white florals that makes this come across to some as citrus. To me, it’s a beautiful warm, creamy, tonka-based fruity scent that isn’t really sweet.
This is, as is the case with every Jil Sander scent I’ve smelled, a beautiful composition in which all notes hold importance and nothing is left in the shadows. It continues to grow and develop every time I sniff it!

This is a mature white floral-vanilla combo. Musk and something’s off here, cannot pinpoint exactly… barely any citrus noticeable. Too much amber? Milky weirdness, I smell that too. It is moderately on a softer side of comfort fragrances type. It reminds me of Naomi Campbell’s perfume which I like, but Sensations on the other hand same as Fracas I find somethings gone bad and off scent. I am a white floral and vanilla notes lover, but did not find this to work for me. Could be a chemistry thing. Also, this wears better in cooler weather. I think of a teacher or a woman in suit wearing this fragrance.

I think that the notes in the description are not right…
    Top notes: nettle, green notes
    Heart notes: milk, grain, vanilla
    Base notes: tonka, amber

This is a review for the EDP version. To be honest I wasn’t even aware that there’s also an EDT! 🙂
My brother gifted me a big bottle of this many years ago and I just recently finished it. I have this weird thing going on to find the perfect scent for me. At times I wonder if it hasn’t already been there all along. Or even a couple (J’adore I used many bottles, Tommy Girl – likewise or Acqua di Gio, Montblanc and so on).
This is a beautiful fragrance that manages to bee sweet and fresh at the same time. A lovely vanilla/tonka bean mixed with mandarin, raspberry and all the other notes. It’s so well blended! It floats around you like a veil and I received many compliments on it. It’s perfect for day or night and lasting power and sillage are both great. I wouldn’t wear it on a hot summer day, however.
One of the best of Jil Sander in my opinion!

An oddly weird yet oh so wearable scent. The smell of milky cereal and hot skin, bergamot and raspberries. musky yet just there. The closest scent that resembles the smell of someone’s natural skin that I have ever smelled. I wish this one was brought back.

Smooth and sweet. Loved it. Strawberry and amber. My favorites!!!! Great soft daytime. Not weak though. Good quality. .

I got this as a gift, it’s not my type of fragrance. it’s too sweet for my taste, but the funny thing is that whenever I use it I get a lot of compliments. Also, this is one of the very few sweet- spicy perfumes that doesn’t give me a headache, so I can use it sometimes at night. 🙂

By now I got this scent as a gift. It was one of the quickest fed ups I ever had. First of all the orangey-creamy note gave me some sort of headache everytime I tried the scent. Then I really had to use a lot to detect the scent at all. Also the slight masculine note in the beginning was too disturbing for me. I tossed the last bit of it away.

this stuff is amazing. i was lucky enough to get a 50ml bottle for 40 bucks and it was soooooo worth it. soft and sexy. without being offensive at all. if you can find it get it

Must be careful when wearing it. It is too sexy for most occasions. The perfumed lotion used as a hand cream can distract if reaching to the front seat. A little embarrassing.

I thought for years Jil Sander is not wearable. Just because of No.4, the only one I knew. Thanks God they’ve release this fall Eve, which is very nice for rainy weather. So I decided to give Jil some more tries and I’ve stumbled over Sensations.
It smells to me very soft indeed and I can’t recognise individual notes, which is IMO a sign for a good blend. And I’m quite happy to say: yes, I smell definite musks inside, but they disappear so fast in the drydown, that they don’t disturb me. That’s a very good sign, as I can’t bear the most meaty musks and they spoil me a lot of perfume joy :((
Well, for a german creation not bad, a bit too obvious and linear, no comparison with some french compositions, that develop mostly (e:g., Guerlain’s) several levels. All in all very wearable and even recomforting. Long lastin too, it gets even better in time.

Jil Sander apparently made a huge number of fragrances but very few I could smell since they cannot be found where I live. Among the ones I could sniff along years there is Sensations, now not available here, but I still have samples. I remember going around in shops once and suddenly I smelled a wonderful cosy warm but lively smell! I identify the weare and luckily it was a lady with a sociable attitude so I asked her what it was! She said: “Jil Sander Sensations!” I ran to a perfume shop and it was still available at that time. I bought a very small bottle and worn it for a while. It is a very confortable scent with a pleasant oriental base. The card of my sample says: nettle flower, milk/cereal, amber/balms, warm wood. Now, the listed notes here are different. Anyway Sensations smells like a cosy, warm, sheer oriental, highly wearable, vaguely similar to old Cacharel Gloria but less invadent. I enjoyed smelling it on my skin and it wasn’t so projecting. It probably changes according to the wearer. Staying power is not so bad, but it’s a scent the stays quite close to my skin. I would recommend this one for daywear, casual but warm in a chilly fall day. Very feminine and sensual too.
Edit: It can be found at international duty-free in Germany, but it smelled reformulated and a little harsher than my bottle bought many years ago.

not her best- the fruit notes combine to create a bland peach like accord with a bland vanilla-ish base. Not offensive, it’s ok.

I was wondering some time whether to get it since it could be a nice office and daytime scent. After test-spraying it several times I was still unsure. The staying power was ok. In the beginning its’ slightly masculine and herbal which made me refrain. The drydown is nicer and a little creamy and milky. All in all it’s a gentle creamy scent that doesn’t hurt anyone. But then again you could just simply wear no scent. I’m currently undecisive whether skin-scents are something for me or not.

I was in a perfume shop in Gran Canaria (go to canary islands if you are perfume-aholic, you might find your fave discontinued somewhere!) and the assistant sprayed some on a card and I just took it out of politeness. But for the rest of the day I couldn’t stop smelling it. I went back the next day and bought it. This is my desert island perfume I would choose above all others. It’s milky, almondy vanilla, kind of fresh warm skin like and yet more than that. I can’t praise this highly enough. Luca Turin disses this in his book and says it’s not memorable but thats exactly what I find in it. I remember what this smells like. It distinguishes itself but doesn’t shout. It’s my perfect one x

OMG!!! that is all I know to say. Insane are all of her scents this wonderful!!!! I love it, spicy vanilla, light and soft!!! I can’t wait to get a BIG BOTTLE as I only got a mini bottle!! today.

It’s a true skin scent which melts on your skin to a creamy, airy scent in which no note stands out so I could detect it.
It has a totally relaxed mood, like lying in silk underwear on your couch. It reminded me also of the warm vanilla smell of my mothers skin I loved so much when I was small child.
But it’s more than this, it has the perfect sweetness and neutral warmth, like sun warmed skin, it isn’t too floral neither too fruity and has a certain decent freshness which makes it a very sexy scent in my opinion.
I think guys must love this, I will test it on my boyfriend soon…

I never tested this perfume, because i found the bottle so aweful, but well i read so good reviews about it and it was making me curious, so needed to test it. Im talking about the EDT of Sensations, because i heard that it should smell better than the EDP. Tested it on my wrist and first i got a mix of citrus+vanilla, very creamy and soft, changes in a one of the most beautiful sweet, cuddly vanilla scents i’ve ever smelled, just comforting and alluring too. So a must try for all vanilla-lovers, the lasting power is amazing, lasts on me like 15 hrs. …happy sniffing!!
    Edit:
Now as i have a bottle i need to mention that the bottle isnt that aweful, the juice isnt that dark as in the picture it has a soft skin tone!

The bottle designer did the smell justice, it smells round, soft, gentle, naked and calming. I like VioletLily’s description of milk an cereal. But don’t forget the honey 😉

Sensations is quite pleasant, although not very powerful perfume. Opening notes smell very “clean” to me, in a good way. Then the smell plunges into green notes, not cedar, but something that smells more like juniper. (I used to have juniper body massage oil and I am familiar with the smell). I do not detect vanilla or Tonka Beans, it all fades away too quick. Too bad.

  28. :

to me it smells very similar to so many perfumes I know, but still it’s different.
at the first sniff I get strong pear note.I don’t see any pear in the notes here, but that’s how I can describe it.it’s very similar to burberry brit and curious by britney, but it’s lighter than brit and it’s less fruity than curious.
then it comes to heart notes which is warm,a bit woodsy with the dominant almond, tonka bean note.I really believe it has something in common with burberry brit.
by the way this is very very light,to the extend that sometimes I can’t feel that I’ve wore a perfume at all!the long lasting power is not very good neither.
n the end it’s very nice for vanilla, almond lovers and has nothing much in common with the name “sensation”.

Before I tell you my thoughts on this lovely fragrance, I’ll tell you a quick story about the bottle in which this gorgeous amber liquid lives.
It’s beautifully rounded and softly white frosted glass with the spray built into the bottle and tilted to the side. The lid is actually the spray part, so you don’t take that off…but my friend when testing it thought it should be pulled off like any old lid, and did so! After that, I could never really get it back on correctly. I should have known better to keep it upright, as one day it completely leaked out into my makeup bag…well, at least my bag smelt amazing! So, be careful with that bottle.
I have digressed a tad too far…This is a wonderful fragrance. It’s warm and oh so comforting and I think, kind of alluring too. I also, like to wear it in “relaxed mode”, but it’s also lovely for work.
To my nose, it’s fresh and soft at the same time. A gorgeous variation on vanilla with a slight citrusy top note, which melts into that lovely vanilla, with that touch of something extra. Could be the milk and cereal bit, though it’s not really like milk and cereal. It’s comforting all the same!
