Very simply, to me Lalique Satine smells like Mon Guerlain without the lavender, it’s very light, sweet, and lovely.
Soft sillage and projection, moderate longevity. If you like Tonka bean and vanilla, chances are you’ll really enjoy this scent too.
Dislike it and vote the comparison away all you like…
Satine is like Mon Guerlain without lavender.

Tonka and vanilia scent. So sweet.
For my nose does not have a nice unique character. This perfume has a great longevity. Thats the best of it. Scent itself is very common, as many others.

Satine is very enticing for some reason, it really does remind one of L’ange Noir but much softer, sweeter, more feminine. Satine is no powerhouse but I can’t stop sniffing my arm, this will be one of those that will draw people in closer for another whiff. This is the sweet version of a skin scent. Like a spun sugar powder puff. Love it! While the silage is soft it went strong for about 6 hours and I can still smell it after 10 hours!

Extremely beautiful perfume! To me, this is a clean, non-sweet vanilla. Very calming, tranquil, and spa like. Like an expensive face cream or powder. Actually, lalique Satine reminds me VERY much of one of my favorite perfumes, givenchy l’ange noir.
They are eerily similar to my nose. The difference being what notes are amped up in each. The l’ange is all about it’s waxy quality, like a scentless white candle or an unscented lipstick with only a faint sweetness, the same sweetness in this..
Satine goes a slightly sweeter route, playing more on tonka and vanilla.. Make no mistake though, this is not at all extremely vanilla or candied.. Just lady like, feminine, and calming. I get a smidge of waxiness from this as well, but really satine is all about the face cream vibe.
I can see them being products from the same cosmetic line, if that makes any sense. They both have the same smell, but come off slightly different in each product. The lipstick is the givenchy, the face cream is the lalique.
If you love one, try the other. Im a big fan, and right now I don’t need both in my collection, but if I ever run out of the givenchy, I think I will pick this one up. Great price, pretty bottle!

As for me, t goes in one direction with Terres Aromatiques, Zadig&Voltare This is Him in a much feminine sweet powdery way… Also first sprays reminded me of Mugler Pure Malt.

i was afraid that this would smell like Lalique EDP
    but fortunately it’s not
i cannot stand Lalique EDP because too much sandalwood there
    but this one’s beautiful
it has the same deep bitter vanilla vibe
    but this one’s much softer
    i got Dior Addict feelings
    but not that overwhelming
in all i think this is a sweet delicious perfume
while it is deep and mature
    love it
bottle is not so stunning as the picture
    very tacky i shall say

I feel this like a delicious ‘bubble gum’ in a good way.
    Very gentle, sweet, lovely,sexy, romantic.
I wish to be more powerful.

I’ve got three bottles of this and they all smell absolutely totally completely entirely different.
One smells like deep, dark spicy freeze-dried blackcurrant, one smells like strawberries dipped in toffee and sprinkled with cinnamon, and the other smells like spiced vanilla, benzoin and cedarwood.
One might conclude that reviews for this scent are pretty redundant…
I will say, however, that they’re all powdery/sweet/creamy/woody in character, give or take berries, so if you like that sort of thing you might want to give this a try. Probably unsuited to being a signature scent because you have no guarantee what you’re going to get next time. “Life is like a box of chocolates…” etc…

Annoying stuff. Because of the (probably) large amount of pink pepper that was used for this fragrance, it is the only thing that I can smell. I can’t bear it. It smells really cheap, like Chinese plastic dolls and it lasts about an hour or two. Fortunately, because it would be too much to smell this stuff all day

This wasn’t a favorite of mine. I was hoping for a softer scent, maybe based on some reviews and also based on the notes and the pretty, simple looking pastel bottle. This perfume is similar to YSL Cinema for me, evoking the same “dry heat / cozy sweater” vibe I get from Cinema…not sure how else to describe it! The scent of a hot sweater being pulled out of the dryer in the winter…this is definitely a more winter scent for me, for that reason. This scent also initially reminded me of Tommy Bahama’s “for her” perfume, due to the thick / powdery burst I smell at first spray. But I won’t be purchasing a full bottle. It is just sharper than I was hoping for, maybe due to the pepper and patchouli…vanilla doesn’t really stand out for me, either. My experience, it lasted 4+ hours on my skin.

I have both Oriflame-Pretty Swan and Sonia Rykiel-Sonia Rykiel. Although many people said this is similar to O-PW, but to me O-PW is more focused on the powdery aspect. The opening is burst of citruses followed by powdery notes in the background.
To me, Satine is leaning towards SR-SR with vanilla & tonka combo, smooth opening and rounded (no hard edges). FYI, SR-SR is very in your face BOOM BOOM BOOM! So, note that it is only the scent which is similiar to Satine, not the sillage. By the way, the floral notes of Satine that I detect is the heliotrope.

hmm…. vanilla and a tiny bit of sweat… The ad is perfect, for such glamorous occasions as shown in the video, it would be perfect, look no more, you will impress him, you will impress all… so I would say, the perfume is lovely but not for everyday wear, it might accentuate the “sweat” element (i swear I smell sweat in it, like talcum powder gone sweaty, a shirt worn a second too long). Also, it asks for colder weather and a lifestyle I have maybe twice a year, at different balls I get to go.. 🙂
Honestly, girls, this is a too special perfume to pass, get your grandma to buy it for you even if it sits on your dressing table for most of the year. Then, one time… WHAM! 🙂

Yum..my type of perfume,or at least one of them..lol. really no note stands out,but I do sense the powder and sandalwood! Kinda spicy too with a soft undercurrent of vanilla. Just lovely..and her name suits her!

Fortunately I can’t detect any menthol or much pink pepper here
Satin is a very fluffy combination of powdery vanilla,Tonka, light patchouli, creamy florals and subtle woods and I like it a lot
I adore heliotrope and gardenia and they’re noticeable here but not enough to make this a floral scent.satine is very powdery but not in the form of classic iris, rose powder.i it’s a modern powdery scent with s masculine edge(thanks to Tonka, vetiver and patchouli…I can also pick up a hint of lavender!!)but this masculine vibe doesn’t interfere it’s softness
Satine is like fluffy clouds of warm, cozy powder that envelopes you smoothly and creamy florals and sandalwood make it even more subtle and cuddly
It has a vanilla sweetness but Tonka and woody notes balance it and make it far from childish vanilla scents
Longevity is 4,5 hours on my skin and sillage is soft to moderate.it’s a soft scent but doesn’t make me image satine(If satine had a scent it would smell totally different in my imaginations)
I love to layer it with my Armani Lei,it adds the warmth Armani lei lacks) and I see it better for fall than spring.d definitely going to buy hu
Recommended to givenchy Dahlia noir edp, trussardi my name and Valentino myrrh lovers
Call me crazy but it reminds me Mon guerlain!
    ❤❤❤❤

Love it! I ordered it based on fragrance strip in Neiman Marcus catalog. On me it’s light powdery vanilla, Tonka bean, & patchouli. I haven’t had it on long, so I don’t know how it will develop or the longevity. I’ll update later. Meanwhile, I think it’s a winner!

A soft oriental perfume. For me, definitely not for everyday. On my skin lasts 8-10 hours. I tried to wear it and to like it, but its not for me… I do think it is a beautiful perfume, but for some reason i don’t feel comfortable in my skin when I wear it. I definitely recommend trying it out a couple of times before you buy the actual big bottle.

  20. :

I was drawn in by the vanilla, tonka, sandalwood, heliotrope, patchouli, gardenia, vetiver and jasmine as that sounds like the type of composition that would instantly qualify as a love in my book. However, the one undesired note to me – pink pepper – somehow becomes loud and proud on my skin, or maybe it is because I dislike it so much that it becomes so prominent. Either way, I can’t bring myself to classify this as more than a like.

  21. :

A very sheer, light patchouli. There was a light sweet vanilla quality as well but mostly the patch. I did get a medicinal note at first blush, so I can understand the ‘menthol’ that some perceive but that faded quickly. No heliotrope, no sandalwood. Mostly just patchouli, but more crisp and clean than most versions. Nice but not hugely unique or memorable. Sillage modest. Longevity ~5 hours.

Boudoir dresser table perfume. Soft, powdery, silky, smooth; like a piece of satin draped over your legs. It’s sexy and drives my Stephen wild! This is probably not as sexy as a pheromone but it’s meant to evoke a delicate satin nightie on ivory skin. First of all I love the bottle! The design is very well made; it’s glass and it has pink colored liquid. The scent starts off with a floral aroma at the first spritz. Little powdery florals of jasmine, gardenia and heliotrope. This has a sweet floral air and it’s easy to wear even if you’re not into florals. There’s vanilla and Tonka which gives it a powdery and sweet but creamy base. I couldn’t detect some of the other notes but it does seem like there’s a hint of wood. It’s mostly vanilla which can be enough to support any top and middle notes. This scent is sweet and soft, powdery and like a little whisper, a sexy caress, a bedroom voice inviting you to lay in bed next to her. I wish Victoria Secret perfumes could smell like this. Even though it’s simple it has a rich and classy vibe. I really love this perfume. I wear it during sex and it always produces bliss.

You know what I get that menthol note to, when kept me from really enjoying Satine…I am not sure where it comes from. Maybe the vetiver !? Other websites mention balsam wood in Satine, which would have a weird vibe…
Just didnt work for me !!

  25. :

    4 out of 5

Hi, could anyone explain to me what the mentol comes from, can it be the patchouli, that creates this note? Or is it due to something else? I can even taste it. I wanted so badly to love it because of the lovely bottle, and if the mentol wasn’t so heavy to me, it would be quite good.
I would really like to understand this 🙂

Satine is indeed satin on the skin! It is gorgeously soft, powdery and feminine. As with all Lalique fragrances it is well blended. Powdery heliotrope, tonka bean and vanilla stand out the most with the occassional spicy waft of pink pepper. Though the juice is sweet it isn’t a sugary, edible vanillic fragrance. Instead, it is a delicate caress, rather like a soft, cashmere sweater on a cold winter’s night. I can see myself wearing this in the winter or on summer nights after sunset with a cool breeze to keep its powderiness from being suffocating.
The sillage is enormous! One or two sprays is all I need to be noticed; anymore than that becomes a powder bomb. I spray it on in the morning to find myself pleasantly surrounded by a soft cloud of femininity that lasts all day and well into the evening. I’ve worn this beauty on three separate occassions since sweet Fragrantican, Birsen gifted me a bottle in a swap. Every time I’ve worn Satine I’ve received glowing compliments. It doesn’t get any better that!

Overwhelming vanilla crowned by spices, so sweet. Long lasting. Not bad fragance but not my favorite, I use it just for the nights out, when I’m in the mood. I can tell that WOW people will NOTICE you , in a good or bad way depending of their taste.

Love Lalique. It was a gift from a gentleman who admires my work. It came in a jewelry case and contained a necklace. The glass bottle is gorgeous! And its a pink liquid. I love to collect pink perfumes. This is a soft, sweet vanilla with floral scent. Jasmine, gardenia and heliotrope. Romantic and girly. It has a short life and its a pretty simple fragrance but it’s heavenly. I’m not sure yet if I’ll wear this on my wedding day. I have had it for about 2 months now but haven’t been using it much. Some of the other reviewers are saying it’s similar to Jessica Parker’s Lovely or that it’s a seductive boudoir scent for lingerie but I don’t see it this way. Although it is sexy, it’s not a throw me on the bed wild and sexual kind of scent. It’s a tame and feminine kind of sexy, a woman who has beautifully decorated dresser tables with perfumes a woman who loves flowers and has a sweet disposition. Classy.

  31. :

For something light, inoffensive, sits on my skin type of fragrance this does the trick. I bought it because I love the heliotrope although it’s not a big player. Gardenia is stronger here but it’s also not that strong. Every note here is soft, soft flowers, soft sandalwood, soft vanilla which is why they have appropriately named it Satin, it wears like a satin lingerie you’ve wearing to bed. And I do wear this bed, or for the day time when I don’t want my perfume to come off as too strong. I have those days too. An any time morning noon or night fragrance winter spring summer or fall. It’s powdery, and very sweet. I bought this for my sister as a Christmas gift. She loves vanilla and soft perfumes. If you’re a fan of fragrances like Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely or Vivienne Westwood Boudoir this is totally for you. It’s beautiful but I see this as a seductive lingerie boudoir scent. It comes off as very very sexy. Wears like one of the Victoria Secret Angel fragrances. I spritz it on for bed and anything that happens there. …including sleep LOL

Satine is a sleepy vanilla. On a spectrum of childlike to mature vanillas, say Bon Bons Sweet Milk to Yves Rocher Vanille Noir, Satine is somewhere in the middle. It is sweet without being cavity inducing.
Very pleasant to wear. I am a fan of balmy vanillas and Satine does not disappoint!.

Satine is a soft and powdery little dream of vanilla and tonka.
Tender, delicate and feathery like a tutu.
I like sweet heliotrope; sandalwood and patchouly makes it so mysterious.
Wearable all day long, every season is satine-season.
A fluffy dream, girlish as well as ladylike – a new member in my collection.

I just have the paper with me. It smells sweet and a little spicy – just the sort thing I would buy for W. Not an overwhelming sugar bomb so yay. Sweet, sweet vanilla.

  37. :

LadiesRed has given a beautiful description, below – “So sweet and soft like a candy laced fluffy bedroom slipper”. Yes, indeed!
First sniff, as soon as it’s sprayed, it really reminded me of Flowerbomb. Then it becomes significantly different. The pink pepper comes through as a spicy veil, and the vanilla and tonka are very prominent. Sweet it is. But as time progresses, the patchouli comes forth, and together with the spice, they temper the sweetness. Some kind of wood is also traceable. No gardenia to my nose (good thing, too!).
Lalique Satine somehow melts into the skin, a quality I love. It’s a quiet scent, maybe even skin scent. This is currently the only sweet scent I own, so you know it’s something special. Comforting and fluffy, it’s a great addition to my wardrobe.

  38. :

Satine is for vanilla lovers only and I should know better… I’m always a sucker for sophisticated and feminine vanilla-based fragrances, and it’s just a pity that they’re always rubbish on my skin! On me, this was a linear and synthetic vanilla scent, that was also fresh, slightly sweet and a bit powdery. Very soft sillage; lasts for about 3 hours.

  39. :

    5 out of 5

    Another lucky blind buy weeeeeeee!
At first spray I wasn’t sure this was what I wanted, just seemed overly sweet. Ahhhh but then it aired out a bit and when I went back for a sniff, I found a spicy, fluffy pink cloud of YUM.
Very soft but has the perfect amount of spice and sweetness~ don’t feel like I’m getting knocked out by the patchouli, or any note for that matter. The notes all seems to compliment each other and create something quite harmonic.
Little fizzy bites of pink pepper sit longer on the skin than I expected, vanilla/tonka/sandalwood combo does a very nice job of not overpowering one another. Slightly smoky, balmy, with a smooth sweetness that just hovers on my skin like a silk scarf or perhaps something satin ;p
A rich scent but not heavy, this has definite character but doesn’t reach too far out there and try to be something it’s not. Very well done, Lalique!

this reminds me so much of guess seductive for men its ridiculous. whatever the case I mean it smells good. Smells like guess seductive and thats honestly one of my best compliment getters including niche all that. Just much more thick. Smells nice, I would wear this myself even as a man, but I already have so many sweet fragrances wouldnt be much point.

@mahagam, the don t look the same neither. Le parfum is a heavy square bottle with red ribon and square black top, juice completaly different as well.
Satinee is light airy sweet vanilla heliotrop tonka mix, and just nice and loveable daytime fume, while le parfum is heavy thick and opulent for the seductrice at night. Love them both.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

Hello Mahgam, just to reply to your question: I do have Le Perfum and I’ve just tried Satin: they are totally different, for me no single note in Satin bears similarity to LP, even vanilla theme was composed in very individual manner for both of them.

I just bought it and I fell in love with the vanilla Tonka bean mixed with woody notes. Very delicate and soft. Somehow I expected La vie eat belle to smell like this and became disappointed. It starts very oriental woody vanilla then suddenly becomes a chypre. I absolutely love it.
Anybody there knows if this perfume is similar to lalique le perfume lalique?
they look the same according to ingeredients.

  44. :

Great, tender oriental scent. I love the tonka bean mixed with vanilla in it.
It seems so luxurious and sophisticated.
Expensive smelling, sweet and balsamic fragrance, that makes me think of great quality and fulfilling atmosphere.

As devoted vanilla lover i couldn’t wait to try it. Finally i got a chance and i must admit the scent is how i imagined it would be. Cozy, buttery vanilla. Unfortunately when it reached dry down i changed my mind – there’s some plastic note showing. This makes Satine artificial to my nose. It’s definitely skin scent, i get almost no sillage, as long as it lasted (about 3 hours) it stayed very close. If you like soft, romantic scents but without manifesting your presence i would recommend it to try.

  46. :

    4 out of 5

This was a blind buy and I have to say that I LOVE this perfume. It has such a warm, buttery, cozy scent that I can’t get enough of. The bottle is nice but nothing too fancy…very Lalique. The scent lingers on me for hours and has moderate sillage. I would agree with some of the other users that said this perfume could be worn any time but I think it’s best suited for nighttime (preferably with company if you get my drift).

  47. :

    3 out of 5

Satine is a very soft Oriental it’s very lovely yet a bit too light for me.
I have a sample so that’s what I have on today.
I smell gardenia and the sweetness of heliotrope when first spritzed then after a few minutes it’s sweet from
vanilla and gets playful and peppery.
A tame patchouly and a bit of sandalwood is what I find on my skin after a couple of hours and that’s it really.
Longevity is poor sillage is moderate.
Suitable for daywear and office safe
I like it but it stays too close to skin for me to warrant a purchase

  48. :

Yes, I don’t know who writes all these descriptions and grouping. It is very soft intimate scent for body, Satine is a right name. Notes little synthetic, but dry into soft powdery with a touch of floral, pleasant, but not outstanding.

Tonka bean ,vanilla and a few pepper. In the drydown sweet patchouli. It is very soft and longevity moderate.I think that it is chipre not oriental-woody.Very good for day,in the night will be very soft.

Honey roasted chestnuts….and a to-die-for vanilla-tonka dry down, for which, unfortunately you have to wait quite a bit. The opening is a bit sharp and synthetic on my skin. Overall, to give the right impression of the scent, the bottle should have been a soft organic autumnal creation the color of frosted amber.

  52. :

    4 out of 5

The opening it’s pure alcohol and I can’t smell a single note. Then there’s vanilla and powder. It’s a very light scent, cyphre, I don’t know why it’s listed under the oriental woody fragrances. It’s just as the name says, it’s very fine and elegant. It lasts less than an hour. To me it’s similar to Deep Red by Hugo Boss, only more innocent.

Is any one smell viex or menthol in satine??? Or it’s just my nose ..

  54. :

    5 out of 5

Very powdery on my skin, and later also strongly balsamic. I thought it would be delicate & romantic fragrance, but it is not! Lalique has really great bottles, little pieces of art, but unfortunately I have just discovered that in case of Lalique, ‘bottle looks’ does not say a word about fragrance. Usually, looking at a bottle and a name, you can predict what fragrance is like. In Lalique fragrance family, you can’t.
Update: I gave it another try, but unfortunately got the same result. Too spicy, too much orient, nothing can be done about that!

  55. :

    5 out of 5

I picked this up blind for $20 at Marshall’s, and I’ve got to say it’s about the most successful blind purchase I’ve ever made. Satine is far and away worth full retail, let alone what I paid for it! It lasts many hours on the skin, projecting within arm’s length initially, but settling into a softer ‘skin’ scent in later hours.
I can see where comparisons between Satine and Flowerbomb might arise – both fragrances are quite floral, but so well-blended that the resulting scent is sweet and creamy. However, the similarities stop there. Whereas Flowerbomb envelops the wearer in a deep sweetness, Satine explores the powdery nuances of creamy florals, and is slightly spicy. Vanilla is present, but understated. It is definitely not as sweet as others with similar openings, including Flowerbomb and LVEB. Later stages of the dry-down present a softly spicy, somewhat deeper wood composition, balanced with just the slightest hint of sweet florals.
Satine is suitable for day wear, but I experience it more as moonlight and satin sheets, dusting body powder, garters, white flowers, and a cool breeze. In my opinion, Satine is what Midnight in Paris would have smelled like if there had been a female version (MIP is pretty unisex anyway, but it has an edge to it that Satine does not). Love, love, love!

the name matches the perfume perfectly.it’s a peaceful modest sweet perfume with a unique aroma.it’s very light and inoffensive.maybe suitable for day wear during cold winter days.
it’s not exactly the most provocative fragrance out there and it’s not very feminine.I can even call it unisex, despite the fact it’s very sweet.whatever it is,it is very cozy, kind of skin perfume.
lately I’ve found myself liking most of lalique perfume.but I can’t find a perfume I like enough to buy.

  58. :

It’s beautiful and unique, soft, fluffy, warm, pleasant, sweet but not overwhelming. Perfect for fall and winter. Great longevity: 10+ hours on me, it’s rather close to the skin but it reminds you about its presence every now and then. The more I wear it, the more I like it. Well done!

So sweet and soft like a candy laced fluffy bedroom slipper 😉

This perfume has a lovely smell but it’s so light on me, at the first smell I thought it will last long. I got really disappointed when it didn’t last for more than one hour on me. To bad, I was sooo close to buy it and I’m really happy I didn’t.

This perfume is amazingly light on my skin and its longevity is so poor . The Crystal bottle of Satine costs 1200 € , the 50 ml plain glass EdP bottle 76 € .
I would not spend 76 cents on this fragrance because I love ( good ) perfumes and this is not very different from plain water on my skin .
I have to say that I enjoy strong perfumes , so Satine is not for me . I am a fragrance woman , not a no fragrance one 🙂
This could be even tolerated into no-smell offices .
Sorry for its lovers , I belong to Poison , Byzance , Coco , Oh la la generation 🙂

Lalique Satine is a rare example of the fragrance where modernity meets sophisticateness. It starts extremelly sweet vanilla in the way of Lancome La Vie est Belle, though soon tonka beans begin to lead the play. Tonka bean here is edgy, a bit masculine. Finally the scent becomes super powdery, similar to Indian talcum powder from my childhood. The longevity is extra ordinary.
Finally we have a new view on a powdery fragrance, different from Kenzo Flower or, for example, irisy Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Initial. I do appreciate this piece of art from Lalique and Natalie Lorson.

As a typical Lalique it starts off with a peppery burst, then the heliotrope follows closely, I admit I am not too crazy about the top notes , a bit too woodsy for my taste, it is real similar to my nose to Guerlain Initial, the drydown gets sweeter, overall I don’t find it to be a spring fragrance, but can see myself enjoying its character more in winter. Nonetheless it isn’t heady, the tonka opens up in the base, which becomes smooth and sweet.
I feel the vetiver kinds of spoils the sweet harmony of the scent by bringing a resinous tone to it, but only in the top notes.
The base is more balmy and powdery, much nicer, the longevity is good.
It is a high quality scent, smooth and high class, worth the price tag IMO.

Very gentle skin scent type of fragrance. Has a more chypre quality to me, rather than an oriental. Quite liked it. Very suitable for daily wear to the office, for example. Has a drydown similar to a watered down Dahlia Noir.

I’m so disappointed in this perfume as good as you put water on you.
It is defiantly not a long lasting perfume . within 10min you harley can smell i have perfume on.
