So excited on the first burst of sweet almond and violet – gorgeous…for the whole of 30 seconds. Then it became a cherry cough syrup/Dettol nightmare. Hospital corridors, nurses in white, being wheeled into an anaesthetic room and a big, black mask going over my face. Sleepy times. Waking up with a midline incision and a morphine pump. “What the hell happened to me?” Exactly, Sakura – what the hell happened.

This is so, so pretty. There’s a waft of slightly bitter almonds throughout, sweetened by violet (although it’s not overly sweet).
The cherry blossom is done beautifully. Creamy, fruity, floral and just a little aloof.
The whole scent actually feels very Japanese. It’s soft and elegant and it also feels somewhat zen-like because it’s so uncomplicated. It’s meditating under a cherry blossom tree in the spring time.
Very soft sillage and around 7 hours longevity. I’m definitely going to get a full bottle of this. I can imagine it becoming a real staple of mine.
