A rosy musky scent that is perfect for cold weather. Tonka notes come through in the dry down but the rose and musk notes still going strong. Unfortunately not strong in longevity and sillage is soft on my skin. A cosy scent that is comforting like a hug. A beautiful fragrance.

Ordinary. Noir isn’t a word that comes to mind – more like beige to me. I’m glad I only paid about $25 for 50ml. I’ll use it as air freshener.

I like this. It’s nice and calm. I feel feminine and rather elegant in it; it’s a lovely rose, really nice – velvety and gentle, not sweet, but fresh and alive. Also the tonka bean is great, with that lovely fresh hay smell, and the touch of almond. The other flowers are there, in a delicate light and breezy way, and the musk and sandalwood, along with the green notes, make it a lovely smell altogether. It’s well-blended, and has a very nice soft sillage, that you can smell every now and then in the air around you, and that’s very lovely. It doesn’t last that long, as others have said, but it’s good for about 5 hours really, and I like re-spraying it, because it’s pretty and calming. It’s very gentle and lovely.
The bottle is fabulous, and the only ‘noir’ aspect of the perfume I think! It’s gorgeous!!!

I love this fragrance! I received it as a gift, and usually I don’t like to deviate from my routine scents but it’s definitely become one of my signature perfumes of the moment. To me it smells like a velvet red rose. It’s definitely not sweet, which is something unique about it. I find it easy to wear on an everyday basis in the cooler months, but it’s perhaps too deep for summer. It has a good silage and longevity, in my opinion, and it would make a good gift for a woman who’s not into overly girly fragrances.

I love, love, love! this perfume! My daughter ( my personal perfume QA) thinks this smells amazing on me. Everytime I’ve worn this scent somebody asks what I’m wearing and compliments me for it. I can wear this at work and it’s a scent that works for day and night wear respectively. Classic.

Perhaps Rosa Pale Apricot would be more appropriate! Soft sweet, maybe greenish…to me more the poor mans’ Miss Habanita. OK, but not if you really want Noir.A shame it only comes in large bottles.

I sprayed some Rosa Noir on my arm today while running errands. While I was walking down the streets I got this heavenly whiff up my nose every now and again. I gave in eventually, went back to the shop and found out that a 100ml bottle is only AUD 71! There was only one bottle left which I promptly put it on layby. This is soooo georgeous!!! Normally rose and I don’t go well together but in here it is soft and lush, and yes, velvety, and I think the freesia is giving it a lift. Rosa Noir definitely has similarities to D&G Pour Femme but is seems a bit softer and less sweet. I also have to say that Rosa ‘Noir’ is a bit of a misnomer, there is certainly nothing ‘noir’ about this scent, it’s too friendly and cheerful for that. All in all the perfect scent for a summer’s day and the perfect scent to brighten a dreary winter’s day. Lovely stuff!!!
Edit: I have my full bottle now and am very happy with the scent as such. RN doesn’t last very long on my skin which is ok since wear my scents on my clothes anyway, and It’s quite soft but it has excellent staying power on clothes and lingers at least for 24-48 hours. So, it’s a great scent for anyone who likes it a bit softer but doesn’t want to reapply often.

So I finally sampled this in store today. I love all things rose scented and the quality of MOR’s products is great. As a lover of all things rose and noir; I was immediately drawn to the packaging when this range first came out. On me, this is a very sweet red rose, and immediately reminded me of Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud; which was also nice but just too sweet and not realistic enough for me. Also nothing “noir” about it. I found it annoying that the EDP comes only in the one size huge 100ml bottle I’d never end up finishing. I much prefer MOR’s perfume oils which are small and fit easily into your handbag. I did try the accompanying body lotion which was really nice and I thought great for layering. I might go back and buy it once that’s on sale. I probably wouldn’t buy the EDP for myself; though I’d happily accept it as a gift 😉
Update: I received this in the candle as a prize from MOR, and wow it’s gorgeous! The candle itself comes in a beautiful black container with snuffer lid and red tassels on it. Looks very Gothic luxe and I can smell the fragrance as soon as I lift the lid. Definitely better suited for a candle than a perfume.

I received this as a gift recently. On my skin, it’s pretty much all rose, tonka and musk. The remainder of the florals are obviously well blended, because I’m having trouble picking any one note out.
One of my first thoughts once Rosa Noir settled on my skin was that it reminded me of a weaker, less sweet, and less interesting version of D&G Pour Femme (despite the notes not being similar). I later tested one on each arm, and they definitely have a few similarities.
All in all, this is a pleasant scent – but Noir it is not. The longevity is also average, around 3 hours. For many it will likely have that ‘done before’ quality to it.
As for the accompanying body products; I have tried the hand & body milk and the hand & body wash. Both had the same scent as the fragrance, with a strange synthetic tone. I personally wasn’t a fan of either product.
