I have been on a foolish blind buying binge and mostly have regrets . However, Roma is everything the reviews have indicated . It is feminine , soft , yet intense enough to last a long time. I find nothing harsh, cheap, or synthetic about it . The grapefruit note stands out and it is pleasant and offsets the spices. What a great fragrance ! This is truly unique – I know of nothing like it . I appreciate Mona’s reviews of this fragrance.
I am so glad I found this and that the rave reviews were correct . Now, I am going to order Essence de Roma and give it a try . For the money , this is a unique scent a very good performer , plus it is not a generic sugar bomb that is way overpriced . Roma is a beauty!

I love this one. Smells similar to Dune, less challenging to wear. Like a fluffy baby-Dune but it still has that salty amber feel to it. Very underestimated, very good, in my opinion.

Received a 1.7 oz edt bottle of Roma in a swap,I don’t know whether it’s reformulated one or the vintage one,it’s box looks ancient,on it it’s written “EUROCOS” and made in Germany,my bottle’s all in all shape is similar to the fragrantica picture but there are some deferences,it’s cap isn’t clear,it’s a cream-colored hard plastic cap and “Roma” isn’t written on it’s cap
Now about it’s scent.my first, second and third test were failures.it opens with a huge grapefruit blast.”mschnabel666″s review is spot on,what I smell for 40minutes is a natural, true to life, tart grapefruit and some mint,it doesn’t smell bad but it’s this fresh citrusy scent isn’t what I can really enjoy
After 40-45 minutes grapefruit starts calming down but it never completely goes away.now that intense grapefruit doesn’t overpower other notes,I can detect amber, smokey vanilla and powder.this stage is much more pleasant IMO and it’s very soft.I wished I could smell lots of myrrh here but I’m not able to find it yet but this doesn’t stop me from liking Roma’s drydown. It’s not a complex or heavy perfume like what I expect from a vintage,I’m not a fan of it’s intense minty grapefruit opening and it’s drydown which is my favorite part is fleeting and lasts less than three hours while is a skinscent, these factors make it far from a love for me but I highly believe that it’s going to grow on me,I believe it has more to off but it can’t completely unfold on my skin so I will keep it and edit my review whenever something changes about it
For now I see it as a summer perfume as a fresh grapefruit is what I smell the most

It’s quite a unique scent in my opinion…. Smells ancient, powdery, rich and has a hint of spice in it. I kinda wish I had it when I was older because it’s too mature for me back then (I was given this when I’m 13 y.o if I’m not mistaken). But now there are tons of other perfume I want to try therefore I don’t repurchase. Btw, it also has a unique and beautiful bottle

As I am in my vintage scents pursuit….I really wanted to like this. I remember it when it first came out. It was too heavy, fuity, spicy for me back then. Fast forward now, and my tastes have broadened and developed since then. But, no. This one is not for me.
It has an interesting, strongly grapefruit opening. That part is ok, I guess. It is very short lived, and then I just get a flat resinous ambery note, that though its not bad, its not great either.
So, overall a two note fragrance. Longevity is decent. Sillage decent.
Even though I could have purchased it for cheap, in reality, it is too uninteresting for me to have at any low price, even if it is a vintage.
Having said all that, I do think the original was a bit more multi~ dimensional. More fruity, less amber.

I’m returning to this after not having worn it for a few years. I once had a desperate crush on Roma. I wore it obsessively for about a year. It’s so easy to like and I can certainly see why people make it their signature. But I got bored with Roma eventually. I have not smelled vintage but the modern version seems to me to lack development (once the crisp opening has subsided). After half an hour or so Roma is still lovely but turns a little flat and heavy on me. It can last all day on me with just a few small spritzes.
Roma reminds me a bit of Rochas Man. They have some notes in common and some not, but the overall character is an aromatic crispness contrasted with a powdery ambery vanillic base. Rochas Man is also a little one dimensional but I prefer it for its coffee note, and because it’s a tad less sweet. I don’t need to own both, but what the hell, why not! Both of them are among the best bargains in the fragrance world.
Roma is a smooth, soothing fragrance and I’m enjoying a small spritz of it tonight. I might keep the bottle out for a while; maybe we can pick up where we left off.

I have smelt two interpretations of Rome in my exploration of perfume. One has been Sarah McCartney’s beautiful fresh tobacco & quirky tuberose Rome 1963 which was a part of her ‘vintage cities’ collection. Having seen many 60s/70s Italian films, I felt a connection between them and the scent. It was rather remarkable.
Then, there’s this. I have a 25mL vintage bottle and it’s quite musky, and smells very much like the 90s. It opens rather strongly, a little like Jicky, and then fades down into something spicy and resinous. I’m not too aware of Italy, much less Rome, during this decade but it isn’t what I picture. However, going from the bottle, perhaps this wasn’t intended for the clubber chic babe who wore something like Prada… perhaps this was for a more mature woman who worked in business and was always off to meetings. I’m still confused about this. It doesn’t scream ‘Italy’, but it definitely screams something. The grapefruit, however, is the most sophisticated I’ve ever smelt. Nothing like a modern Chanel, much more like in Rome 1963. Rather lovely.

I tested this three different times – oh my gosh, WAY too heavy on the grapefruit! I saw it at a very bargain price but that grapefruit was just too much. And I actually like grapefruit note but no, just no.

    Weird!
Myrrh, grapefruit, cedar, grapes, amber, & hints of mint. It whiffs between sweet, spicy, and sour. the oakmoss, carnations, and the sandalwood appears later on but the dominants are the myrrh, grapefruits, Vanilla grapes, & the mint.
Hmmm… it needs more time to develop and more tries to see if the connection comes up or remains silent!

I stumbled on this, and put it on my radar, then found a cheap big tester bottle. This is my first Laura Biagiotti, and this is the first I’ve heard of the brand.
At first– that LOUD juicy tart grapefruit/citrus just won’t go away…. I’ve never had a top note last and last and last. And it wasn’t good. It smelled too real/tart/sour/juicy, and I got a hint of mint as well. Well, my tester has no cap– so I hope the loud grapefruit calms down due to another review that says leave the cap off to tame the top notes.
On cloth/tissue, the top notes lasted HOURS. So when I got home, I put directly on my skin. And I would call his “powdery” because it was a sweet citrus powder for a long time (after about 30 min of skin top notes). I do like it, but it seems awfully “generic”… I have a feeling the vintage would be much better. I can’t pinpoint the notes that make this powdery. The florals? Must be. It’s well blended then, and quite warm, but still light. This is no heavy hitter like other balsamic/musky/orientals.
Then on drydown I get sandalwood and vanilla. It’s pretty sweet. The sandalwood reminds me of Samsara EDT actually. There is a hint of spice maybe, but I def do NOT get: civet, myrrh, patchouli or oakmoss. (Again, I have the reformulation)
Now, 1 day later on tissue, I get a creamy, smooth SWEET sandalwood/vanilla/amber/citrus that is quite pleasant and well blended. Just not mind blowing. And something smells familiar– so I’ve probably smelled this on someone before. I don’t think it’s like Must or Dune at all. (But to be fair, the only Must or Dune I’ve smelled are the reformed EDTs. Must I like. Dune I don’t.)
Average sillage/potency/longevity. The tissue test lasted 24 hours, but when worn on skin/clothing… average sillage. I wouldn’t call this an Oriental Spicy… Powdery/Sweet Floral is more like it. I would love to get something chypre/green, spicy or animalic but I don’t. Maybe my bottle needs to age with the cap off, or I need to try in diff weather/seasons. It was a very sunny balmy winter day yesterday. Temps in the 40s, which is warm and balmy to me. Feb is often below zero here. 😉
One last note, it DID have enough sillage that I enjoyed wearing it. I put on at 6pm, and went to bed at about 10pm… and I was very heavy handed. (I even re-applied once) Considering this needed to be on SKIN rather than clothing, and my skin soaks up perfume fast… I was enveloped in a soft sweet aura of powder during that time.

Still it’s one of my favorite perfumes, I have emptyed a lot of bottles of this special beauty.
But, I agree, the new perfume smells different than the bottle I first bought back in 1990.

Oh my God! What happened to the original Roma, I am so disappointed, where is the mint? The original was sensual, delicious, adorable! Now, the new formulations smells so weird in the opening, so disturbing for a while, but when it settles it comes back to the original formula (let’s say after 30-45 minutes). But my God the opening is unbearable with some weed smell as some other mentioned before in the reviews which I totally agree. Please someone tells me where to find the original Roma, if it is still possible?

  13. :

Quite different now than back in the ’90s, more smoky from myrrh and a lot less powdery, and of course the duration is significantly shorter, only 4 hours on me, a bit disappointed but it still gets a love from me for what it once was.

Recived it today as an early christmas present for my self. I kinda spoiled myself on black friday.

    It´s a keeper

    Received this today.
I am not sure of which formulation I got It is an 1.6 EDT. Some reviewers have said the bottles with “EUROCOS” made in UK are the original formulation. Mines says made in UK..but it has Prestige Beaute on the sticker.
    No matter…!!!
This is….SPECTACULAR !! How I have let this gem slip by me for sooooooo long…wow…I love it.
To my nose…in the vibe of original Must de Cartier…in vibe only…not a dupe of it. To me it is fruitier than Must. Not overly spicy…but resinous..yes
    A classic beautiful scent…enough said.
    9/10
    Projection and sillage….GOOD. Longevity….good.
First spritz..can fool you…so wait until it settles on your skin. Patience.

I smell peppermint, sandalwood, liquorice root and anise on a bed of vanilla. It’s nice, and I wouldnt call it feminine per se. Roma would make a magnificent shop scent.

I have been wearing this scent for the most part of my 20ies, it was my signature scent and all guys loved it on me. It was a scent with depth and projection, the perfect mix of fresh citruses and the sensuality of amber, cinnamon and sandalwood. I loved to wear it especially in spring and it gave me this sense of joy and sexiness. I also had Dune and I thought that they were quite similar but Roma was sexier, warmer in the dry down.
In my 30ies I abandoned Roma and started experimenting with many other scents and I went back to it a couple of years ago when I was holidaying in Rome and I thought, why not. Of course it has been reformulated and it is now a bit different, it lacks on depth, and if back then the scent developed for hours changing from the moment you sprayed til the very next day, now it is a bit simpler and flatter, but still very nice.
Upon spray it has that kind of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle vibe. The dry down though is extremely similar to No 5’s dry down minus the aldeheydes. Warm, powdery and sexy amber and sandalwood.

This is another of those fragrances I’ve been wanting to try forever. When I first tried it I was unimpressed. Lemons. Tried it again and immediately thought Christmas for some reason. Waited 15 minutes for the drydown and realized why I was getting the holiday vibe from lemons. At first there is a lemon smell with a well blended mint that goes away quickly. then you are left with something that smells like a good quality lemon cupcake being offered for sale at a church bake sale in a little OLD village church.
Lemon and incense blended with vanilla in a very good way. I’ve never been to Rome, but if it smells like that I should go. Decent staying power, around 6 hours on clean skin. Light to moderate sillage. I’m not sure if I have the vintage or not. In conclusion, glad I got to try it, may buy it again. It wasn’t money wasted.

I have a 100 ml Eurocos EdT bottle, Made in the UK, short list of ingredients, and it came with a shower gel sample (apparently this means the batch is from 1999 or earlier). There’s plenty of mintiness up front, but it smells natural to me. The florals blend together and are not dominant. It does come across as spicy/woody, in a mild way (I’m used to “masculines” that are a lot woodier and spicier, so keep that in mind), and there’s a sweet/ambery element. It’s all nicely balanced, other than the strong mint at first, and there might be just a touch of an animalic element. I think I would wear this in public, unlike most of the “feminine” scents I own. And I would be surprised if there was an earlier formulation that was substantially stronger or more animalic (other than an EdP or pure parfum, of course).

Wearing Roma makes me the happiest perfumista on earth. So beautiful, oh my god…
Sweet, bitter, balsamic and minty. Very likable but also unique.
The opening is all about the myrr with a minty undertone (superb combination), later it calms down and vanilla joins. The drydown reminds me of Must de Cartier.
I only whish that longevity was better. However, it is not that bad – 4/6 hours in my case.
This review is based on the vintage/first formula.

I’ve just bought a new bottle and have changed my view from a love to a severe dislike. This reformulation is horrific! Gone is all the beautiful rich resinous and powdery goodness I loved so much. This smells like straight up cat piss grapefruit and then dries down with a soft near non existent amber. What an utter disgrace! Seriously this is the worst reformulation I’ve ever tried. You should rather have discontinued the fragrance altogether because this abomination is NOT Roma. Thank the lord for Ted Lapidus White Soul! For those of you who loved the original Roma, try this. Its awesome!

Roma is my youth…when I was a student and it was introduced, my friends added up their pocket money and I received a bottle of Roma for my birthday 🙂
However I have now a big fragrance collection, Roma is still in a special place in my heart. Elegant, feminin, perfect for any occasion for me.

Roma EDT Body Cream & Shower Gel! Through sellers on ebay I bought the Eau de Toilette spray bottle shaped like an ancient Greek Ionic column. I am wondering if it is a vintage original or a new formula because it does come with body care products. This is so lovely and unlike any of my perfumes in my ever expanding wardrobe. This is a sweet citrusy minty bright sunny opening like dawn over Rome’s ancient ruins. There is an Oriental character to this perfume that comes off as mature in the end but as it starts it seems tailor made for a young Sophia Loren. Fruity in the initial scent with bergamot and pink grapefruit, currant and peach. Then it settles into a soapy sort of floral or toilet water scent, rose, definitely rose, and a green-floral lily of the valley, a dewy hyacinth, and jasmine. This part of the perfume is quite feminine and feels like rose water in a Roman bath for a noblewoman. Smells like I am putting my feet in warm waters like the ancient equivalent to a hot tub.
The myrrh, olibanum, incense, balsam, resins and animalic note of both civet and deer musk give it a unisex quality. It’s definitely an Oriental. The perfume is muskier and greener, more aromatic with pre-IFRA banned oak moss, and an herbal patchouli. This is a green fragrance but more of a shadowy wood which can be seen off the corner of the eye. The stars are the brighter happier notes of fruit and flowers. This has a sort of sunset effect when the sun casts shadows over pillars and over streets and over little groves. This is a warm Oriental chypre which is long lasting fragrant and full bodied.
An 80’s perfume in the ranks of Diva Eau de Parfum by Ungaro. Some have even compared it to Shalimar. This is very complex, rich, and one hell of a perfume. I’m only a public school teacher who can’t afford expensive high fashion couture so for me simply wearing this perfume is a luxury. I love to wear this but I have to pick and choose the appropriate event or place. My husband thinks it’s too much for a dinner date. This is for the more formal black tie affairs like a wedding, a wedding anniversary, a ballet opening, opera, and symphony. Roma is exotic, glamorous, with so much going on. Sometimes it has nods to Opium by Yves Saint Laurent.
If you like those go big or go home scents this is definitely for you. I wore it last night to an event honoring war veterans and while I was not overdressed I felt overdressed simply by wearing this perfume. Two spritz perfume. More than two and this is an Oriental monster. A stunningly beautiful perfume. Deep, juicy fruit, lovely flowers, incense, balsam and musk. Like I said easily unisex so guys check this out if you like vintages that can pass for unisex. And for the ladies this is a mature sophisticated fragrance for the Italian soul in all of us. Roma can best be worn in the evenings. Spritz right after you have finished dressing up and you add the final touch to your look by putting on this perfume. Goes with something black, formal, and elegant.
Ah, every day I thank God for giving me a nose.
And my husband really likes this but he thought I was ‘over-perfumed’ last night.

Roma was my favourite scent in the 90s. A beautiful warm fragrance with this lovely grapefruit opening. Recently I bought a new bottle, and was very disappointed. A shadow of its former self. Very low projection and sillage, gone is the beautiful opening and the drydown is thin and woody. The bodylotion performs a bit better as far as the opening is concerned.
I also compared the new Edt with a vintage bottle I own. The topnotes are gone in the vintage version but the drydown is still intact and a lot stronger and darker than the current one.
Such a shame, I really miss the old formulation

  25. :

    5 out of 5

If you have the reformulated version and are disappointed by the harsh opening, try leaving the cap off your bottle for a while. I found that it helped to tone these notes down to a bearable level. It takes several months. I can’t say that the result is just like the original, but at least the drydown is now a lovely, womanly scent in its own right.

One of my mamas signatures, she passed when I was 17 so this scent is very emotional for me. Tho, too strong for carrying it myself but maybe when I turn older. It’s warm, woody, bold and strong reminds me of a sensual and powerful woman.

How Do You Make A Fragrance For Rome?
In 1989, I took a trip to Italy, which is my favorite European country with a group of opera enthusiasts and besides going to your usual tourist hot spots Venice, Florence, Milan (La Scala opera house) we headed for The Eternal City of Rome, taking the Appian Way. I took plentiful old Polaroid camera photos which are in an album of mine. It was July & the summer tourist masses had taken over the city.
Every time I wear Roma I’m transported back to that time in my life. This is a warm amber Roman sundown over the city, a sweet & feminine, sophisticated scent for the woman who is as beautiful as the Italian goddesses of iconic fame: Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida & Claudia Cardinale. It often feel like one is in a classic Italian film wearing it.
Laura Biagiotti created this fragrance back in 1988 as a Roman Oriental perfume paean to Italy itself. Roma the first time I smelled her, reminds me of that Appian Way and the more ancient sights of Rome: the Coliseum, the Capitoline Hill, but mostly the old Forums and open air marketplaces. Fruit is being sold more than spices because it’s the middle of summer. Fresh citruses, bergamot orange, grapefruit & black currant are among the top notes.
The scent is quite fruity for a 1980’s fragrance, but not in the alcoholic fruit cocktail sort of way, nor in the style of Champagne by Yves Saint Laurent; nor the concentrated dark exotic fruit of Femme by Rochas. It’s a tad sour but sweet at the same time, minty, and perhaps an attempt to evoke Italian gelato or sorbet. It has a sweetness coming from the currant & a distinct mint which was unusual for the period. The fruitiness of this perfume makes me realize that it’s designed to be worn in summer with cool light fabric; thin blouses & mini dresses. At the time it smelled of youth & younger women. I was no spring chicken by the 80’s but wore this perfume anyways.
A green carnation & jasmine bush comprise the middle stage of the performance of this Italian fragrance. It’s green floral with a beautiful and evocative flower scents of gardens in villas. I detected a beautiful red rose (or red rosebush) which provides a touch of romanticism. A lily of the valley note is also detectable, but for me this is not a white floral scent; rather it’s a light multi floral. A hyacinth is also noticeable. The florals are sweet & old fashioned, womanly, elegant. A green garden air comes from a patchouli leaf & oak moss, again taking me back to the Appian Way on the way to Rome.
When dry, this fragrance is neither sweet nor floral, nor fruity, but expressive as an amber based Oriental perfume. There is still too much femininity to make it a deeper, more complex and or unisex Oriental. There is a whisper of incense through the myrrh but it’s still too green, as if unable to make up it’s mind to turn into a hardcore Oriental or a chypre. I would say that it leans toward chypre. To be fair, a label should not be placed on such a gorgeous fragrance which is itself just that, a beautiful perfume.
The sandalwood is very fragrant & stylized, like an old sandalwood from the Emperor’s palace in ancient Rome, used to scent the hair of the women in the palace – his wife the Empress & his daughters. Besides ambers, there is a musky & balsamic type of note. This smells of warm woman’s skin, tanned or sun kissed skin, somewhat reminiscent of sun tan lotion. There’s also an exotic type of patchouli that never really goes away. It is a very beautiful Oriental perfume.
Roma is sexy; seductive, classy & glamorous. They don’t make perfume like this anymore. Fortunately the current issues of this fragrance smell like the orignal. It’s so unique because I don’t smell any common staple of today’s perfumery like vanilla. This is more amber than vanilla, and more floral & fruity in a well balanced way. Roma is also very affordable for such a luxurious & expensively designed fragrance. Note for note, you can tell that this is quality. Rome may not been built in a day, but you can wear Rome in one day & smell as beautiful & rich as it’s history.

I bought an old tester bottle, no idea if it is the old formula or the reformulated one, but I like it. To me it is all about spicey resins. No flowers, no fruit. Thank you, Laura! Warm, interesting perfume.
I vaguely remember it from long ago, but I never bought it then, because I was too young to appreciate the scent. It is very mature, confident and sophisticated. Not for a girl, but for a woman who knows herself and the world. Very nice.

I mainly wanted to try it because I know my mom wore this when I was very little. And I liked it when I first sprayed it on. It’s really different from the modern ones it shares a shelf with in the shop I went to. It was so heavy though, just balsamic and minty. Though someone I asked claimed they could smell no mint in it, I was so sure. And there it is! I get really happy when I check on fragrantica and it turns out I identified something correctly.
The real surprise with this is what it turns into. It is now 6 hours after spraying and it’s still going strong except it’s totally sweet now. Finally the vanilla came out to play.

Unfortunately I must share my disappointment that so awaited from me perfume. Roma not smell that I smell 15-16 years ago. The new Roma is predominant scent of myrrh, stale, church, both in the beginning and at the base. The reformulation scent, which later found out was horrific. Gone is that mysterious soft femininity, which was the original Roma. I returned perfume.

Last night I was craving something summery. The weather is changing. Late afternoon you can feel and see that summer is realy over and done.
After a hot shower I sprayed a good amount of Roma and put on some nice music that remind me of good warm summer days from the past.
I was transported to a holiday on Crete/Greece.
The pink grapefruit and mint were so relaxing and gave me that fresh and energy full burst.
I love it so much the first 15-30 minutes. It is so crisp in that stage. After that the scent becomes smooth and a lot softer. The amber and sandelwood together with the vanilla give it that soft summery blanket kind of feeling.
Roma is a great summer scent but also fresh and crisp during Autumn. I have three bottles, two 100 ml vintage and 1 new formula. Again the vintage are the best. The new one lacks the longevity. Sad…

It starts fresh…pink grapefruit..a lot of it..crispy mint but ut changes rather quickly…it calms down and melts into soft warm rosy mossy scent when rose and moss come into play. The undertone is slighly spicy but not bitter. The drydown is warm and I definately smell myrrh, sandalwood, amber and vanilla. The scent is very present but it is also calming. Longevity and sillage are good.

really reminds me of my hometown. both my mum and my auntie wear this, but for some reason I like it on myself best.
I love everything about Roma, from the initial citrus fresh blast, to the powdery, smoky and animalic middle, to the sweet persistent drydown. it’s a safe haven for me; as a moody perfume wearer, I could say that this suits me on a deeper level.
I agree with someone else saying it used to be more fruity and sweet in the past but I wasn’t wearing it at the time, so it kinda feel more personal now 🙂

    Roman Holiday
This fragrance with it’s column shaped bottle evokes a golden afternoon in Rome, as you walk by the Trevi Fountain and descend the Spanish Steps. It’s classically beautiful and lasts a very long time. I wore it three days two of the three days I didn’t even have to spritz it on because it was still there from the first spritz. This is warm balsamic fragrance in which patchouli is working it’s magic and causing all the other notes to harmonize. The opening is a bit aldehydic and then jumps into the fruity notes of grapefruit bergamot and there’s a mint. The mint is the scent that most dominates the top. The floral heart is sweet with rose and jasmine and a sexy carnation. The base contains sandalwood and amber but most of all myrrh. The myrrh gives it a warmth and smokiness the amber a golden glow. This fragrance smells very much like a sunset. And it also matches up with the Italian opera aria Casta Diva by Bellini from his opera Norma. It’s operatic to me. It’s enchanting, foreign, sexy, and yet elegant. It’s a beautiful Italian woman you meet only one time while visiting Italy but you never forget her for the rest of your life.

Roma by Laura Biagiotti- A Man’s review of a women’s perfume.
10 stars folks. This fragrance is a winner. It has ample longevity, Heavy sillage, and brilliant note combinations. The opening is insanely elegant, with Black Currant, Bergamot and Hyacinth standing out flamboyantly, followed by Patchouli, Musk and Myrrh and the rest of the notes being tweaked, twisted and prodded wonderfully by roguish Civet.
This fragrance is a classic, a must have for every woman and every man who collects perfumes and colognes as I do.

A beautiful, old style, flowery oriental fragrance. A more heavy than light fragrance. A proper perfume, meaning that it has what many modern fragrances lack: actual topnotes, middlenotes and basenotes. The fragrance develops on skin for several hours (instead of falling flat on skin and staying linear).
Top: A fresh and powdery blast of bergamot, blackcurrant, carnation, muguet, rose, amber and myrrh.
Middle: Dried fruits and flowers over the bed of amber, musk, sandalwood and myrrh.
Base: All powdery amber, musk, sandalwood and myrrh, some remains of the fruity and flowery aspects lingering in between.
The very different experiences/reviews on this one tell the essential about Roma. At least the older versions have different facets showing up during different wearings/wearers. Don’t know how the most recent versions perform.
I love putting on Roma because I never know which notes will be emphasized in the beginning. The middle and the drydown end up being pretty much the same every time, but when the top notes first hit your nose it could be one of these, or some different combination that’s emphasized:
    powdery amber
    powdery fruity
    fruity amber
    fruity floral
    powdery musky floral
    metallic, woody and some myrrh
    myrrh, musk and amber

Spicy citrusy powder, from beginning to end. For me it is too sharp and i think it also smells cheap and old.Definately not for me. If the mint and the vanilla were stronger it would be more interesting.
Projection and longevity are not that great, even when sprayed on clothes.

This is so unique! It is very citrusy and minty, but balsamic and animalic at the same time. This smells also very italian as well. As soon as I tried it I commented with my sister that we could almost smell our kitchen, associating all the feelings connected to this scent. Just amazing. I want this sooo bad!

I can smell grapefruit when I first spray this, its a lovely heady summer frag, but theres something in the drydown that puts me off, cannot put my finger on the notes, but it turns sour

Today, I learned a valuable lesson about body chemistry.
On paper, Roma is everything I love in a fragrance. In a bottle, too, it smells woodsy and spicy and bracingly autumnal. Animalic, but presented in such a charming, affable way that there’s power to the scent without being skunky in the slightest.
Elated, I sprayed it on myself. After a few minutes, I began to reek of bad breath. Ouch. I really wish it worked better on my skin, because on a test strip I absolutely love it, even after a day of smelling like gum disease I can’t bring myself to rate this any lower than ‘like’.

This is the perfume that turned me into a perfume-lover and started my addiction to scents of all kinds.
It is an unbelievably beautiful and confident scent which never fails to draw compliments.
When my nose first had the pleasure of discovering Roma,it twitched with delight, rolled over and gave itself up its considerable charms. It became a favourite of mine, particularly in autumn, when it seems to enhance the cooler, mellow m
