Rich Mess has just arrived in a FedEx box. A quick slice with a exacto blade and as I remove the bubble wrapped bottle from the box I have already gotten a whiff of this new-on-the-scene frag, a quiet scream of muskiness that does remind me of a new leather jacket has already hit me in the face. The bottle is wrapped in a black silk bag with draw string, has a decent weight in a squarish flacon, a black cap fitting atop the tallish atomizer that sprays out Rich Mess in a large plume.
At first spray on bare chest with a momentary dry down and the holding of breath, the first note I do perceive is fig – and a finer fig than the other fig frags I own (and I preserve figs in jams so I know the aroma and this fig reminds me of the Adriatic version). Yes, this fig is a green fig, not a dark Mission or Turkey brown. I note the saffron as well; in my mind I see tiny threads of bright orange saffron enthusiastically dancing about. And then, yes, the leather is right there, arms and legs entangling with the delight of a fig and saffron in a meanges a trois.
For now, it’s off to go about the day. I like Rich Mess for the first 10 minutes I have it on, and will report back as to how the day goes.
So far, Rich Mess needs a different name. I think it should be called Figured Leather!
