Oh, the horror! A Pure Grace that I like? Pure Grace is the fragrance I use as a reference point for all “industrial clean”, dryer sheet, white musk scents that I usually hate. But Pure Grace summer…I actually like it. It smells like, well, summer. I have the perfume and the shimmering body oil – both found on heavy discount at Ross. Smells like sunscreen (with a floral/coconut vibe) or maybe tanning oil, a clean beach towel and warm skin. This is how I want to smell when I’m heading off to the pool or to the reservoir to paddleboard. Sunglasses on and car windows rolled down – ready to soak up some sunshine.
Edit: I gifted this to my sister since she went gaga for it when she visited me this summer. She REALLY loves suntan lotion type scents.

This is, like, whisper soft. I’ve never really smelled anything like it. The cacao reads like a very light cocoa butter. This is a very light, citrus skinscent.

To me, this is Piña Colada suntan lotion! I get pineapple, cocoa butter, coconut, and I can even picture the maraschino cherry on a stick (a bit of almond extract, perhaps?)
Pure Grace Summer opens both sweet and juicy (pineapple) and creamy/buttery (cocoa butter and coconut), and it feels equally balanced between fruity and buttery.
It’s sweet, but not too much. It smells natural, and NO headache for me either, Linaskye – yay! This is a mild scent with weak longevity, but for this type of scent, I think that’s okay. I wouldn’t want it to be loud. Also, I’m testing it indoors. It likely blooms more in heat and humidity.
I’m not explicitly detecting the sandalwood, but the fact that I quite like this scent could be indicative of its presence. Either that, or amber. It’s got a smoothness to it and a comfort factor that I associate with both of those notes. No sharp edges.
This scent takes me right to the beach: back in the days when, instead of using sunscreen, people actually used tanning oils, lol. The musk adds that heated-by-the-sun skin smell.
Very pleasant, straightforward, well-blended fragrance with a load of nostalgia.

If the notes are as listed on Sephora, it is no wonder I like this fragrance as much as I do. I’m a huge fan of sandalwood as a base (or in general), and the addition of cocoa is what I think makes this a little softer than some other “summer” fragrances. I can’t wear Pure Grace as nicely as some people can, so I didn’t expect much from the summer version, but I’m totally going to keep an eye out for a bottle on sale.
I like coconut and suntan lotions smells, but they can often overwhelm me, give me headaches, or in general get old for me pretty quickly. I’ve been spritzing this wherever I can get it for weeks now though. It’s soft, warm, and on the subtle end of sexy. I picture lazying around on the beach with a floating chiffon coverup dress on and my hair whipping around my face, and then going back to the condo and falling asleep with the scent of suntan lotion lingering on my skin. I see nights at mellow outdoor bars with fairy lights and Bob Marley playing and piña coladas on the menu. I see kissing a stranger under a palm tree in the moonlight, heat simmering off my sun baked skin.
I’ve never found a nicer “coconut” fragrance. Usually they’re too vanilla or like or whatever, but Pure Grace Summer whispers nostalgia, comfort, and yes, SUMMER. I’m hoping this sticks around long enough to get ahold of a set.

I was really excited about this since I love pure grace, but I was completely underwhelmed when I tried it. At first it smells like fruity shampoo and then towards the end of it’s short life does it begin to smell slightly like suntan lotion. It’s a smell I could probably find at BBW for much less. I was hoping it would be a more coconutty version of pure grace since pure grace already smells like sunscreen, but sadly no.

I got a bottle from Sephora and love it! It is a lot like coppertone suntan oil and brings to mind tanning at he beach as a teen. This is a soft creamy coconut perfect for summer use. It does need reapplying throughout the day though and I have a mini rollerball I put this in to carry in my purse. Once I got it I went ahead and got the layering set from qvc which was a much better value and now have a backup bottle.

    So fresh!
Coconut water, lotion and just a touch of vanilla is what I smell.
I would wear this, of course, in the summer.
I love this scent! I might even wear it for my wedding!
    So happy I ordered this.

I just had to review this fragrance as I just purchased this last evening.I was schocked at how much I love this scent because normally I am not a fan of philosophy. This is one of the best beach scents I have smelled in awhile. This smells like Hawaiian tropic tanning oil in the brown bottle! In my opinion this is much better than bronze goddess and smells more smooth and less like chemicals. The other reviewer below stated the correct notes for this fragrance. The dominate notes on my skin are coconut milk, cocobutter and citrus blended with a soft sunlit musk that smells like your skin after you have been sitting on the beach. This is a smooth warm but fresh sunny summer scent. This smells like tanning bed in the best way.I am seriously thinking of buying a backup of this one and I never buy back ups. This is def a warm solar beachy perfume that smells natural.Check it out if your a beachy perfume nut like me!
