Description

Prunier à Minuit or “Plum Tree at Midnight”, is part of our goal for 2017 to create a series of unconventional fruity perfumes. Fruit accords are so often associated with sweet or syrupy gourmand creations, so we wanted challenge ourselves to create a set of fragrances that broke with that tradition and displayed fruity notes in original and unexpected ways. The perfume stars a rich plum accord created by combining tobacco and peach, supported by spicy florals and incense.

Prunier à Minuit is an elixir of incense and plum wine inspired by Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai’s “Drinking Alone Under the Moon”. The base notes of wood smoke and incense represent smoke curling up from the distant village that the speaker of the poem might be overlooking as he raises his glass of wine to the moon. Night flowers of tuberose and jasmine swirl with the heady fumes of the plum wine as the speaker dances in intoxicated exhilaration, creating an ambrosial mixture that rises up to the stars on the warm evening air.

Okay now this IS something …. hmmm …. oh … that’s weirdly beauty!
Medicinal plum drenched in a crystal glass full of red wine in a room with burgundy & gold decor and carpets and on a table a cigar is left lighted beside a natural ambergris which is next to a silver lighter that has just been used so you can smell the warmth of the metal, and that’s “Prunier à Minuit”!
This fragrance is a SCENE, it has that superior ambergris, plum, and fireworks, it has balsam fir, peach. and incense.
This reminds me of the control room in “Rush hour 2” when Hu Li (Zhang Ziyi) shove a bomb inside Lee’s Mouth (Jackie Chan) and lead him to the control room of Ricky Tan (John Lone) where Isabella Molina (Roselyn Sánchez) sitting on the couch where Ricky’s line begins with “Imagine a business where people hand you money, and you hand them back absolutely nothing” now that room and that scene held the essence of “Prunier à Minuit”.
This is brilliant, quite impressive and captivating.

I had a chance to try this one at Tigerlily, a niche perfume store in SF and it’s lovely a extrait in a dabber bottle with a great winey plum smell that stays very close to the skin but is strong and very natural smelling. Must buy this soon. Unlike Plum Japonais by Tom Ford the plummy smell never gets overtaken by incense or anything else.
