Description

Britney Spears launches the first unisex fragrance in her perfume collection under Revlon’s license as an olfactory expression of individuality and authenticity, designed for all people who do not hesitate to be what they want to be. PREROGATIVE is a brave and exotic step by which Britney Spears moves in a different direction from the feminine fragrances she launched so far.

Prerogative is all about empowerment and confidence – we all deserve to feel free and fierce!” – says Britney Spears.

“The Britney Spears fragrance portfolio evolves with each new scent. With this campaign, we showcase the confidence, versatility and individuality that Britney has demonstrated throughout her career,” explained Ron Rolleston, EVP Global Fragrance Marketing, at Revlon. “From design to scent to campaign concept, Prerogative is all about pushing boundaries.”

The fragrance composition is unusual and exotic. In the opening we find pink pepper, goji berries and apricot. The heart of the composition reveals a special accord of red calla lily, latex petals and espresso foam which are spiced up with soft saffron cream. The base is subtle, woody and warm, composed of sandalwood and amberwood.

The advertising teaser for the newest perfume campaign was promoted on the official Instagram account of Britney Spears, in which she was dressed in black latex, surrounded by fluorescent lights and CCTV screens. Prerogative – a perfume for all, as announced by Britney!

The fragrance PREROGATIVE is available as a 30, 50 and 100ml Eau de Parfum.

Prerogative was launched in 2018.

If this scent doesn’t work with your body chemistry and you don’t get a gorgeously rich coffee aroma mixed with wood and a berry sweetness, I truly pity you. This fragrance is godly. I’m so in love. Long lasting too.

I don’t smell coffee and I don’t smell something spicy.
To my nose this opens with a balanced combination of soft, creamy sweetness and fresh, tart fruit. The fruity smell lingers a while, but eventually it fades and leaves a frothy, milky, creamy, woody latte smell (a latte without coffe, but with some type of woody aroma). It feels a bit shadowy maybe, but not really dark. I can also detect a hint of vanilla.
I do recognise the Britney DNA in this. I don’t feel like this is something totally different from her earlier perfumes (at least not from her Fantasy line).
I see a lot of people say that this is similar to YSL Black Opium. I don’t know if I agree… I don’t like Black Opium, but I think this fragrance is okay. The tart fruitiness in Prerogative is what really sets it apart from Black Opium in my opinion. Without it the two might have been more similar. On my skin Black Opium is a huge, obnoxious sugar fog without any detectable nuances. Prerogative is calmer, has nuances and isn’t as sweet.
Sillage is on the soft side of medium. Longevity is 4-5 hours, which is a tad on the weak side.
EDIT: The Prerogative body lotion has a more distinct coffee smell. So you get a bit more coffe when you use the lotion and the fragrance together. Layering Prerogative with Demeter Espresso (the perfume oil version) works really well too, for a more pronounced coffee smell. 🙂

Just a quick question for anyone who owns this perfume as I do. Does the batch code for your bottle look like this? N18614B I’m hoping mine isn’t a fake, but the code isn’t recognised by checkfresh of checkcosmetics.

Love this. It’s definitely unisex. Dark, a little sweet, but in a very unisex way, woodsy, a hint of vanilla, which reminds me of some of the Tom Ford fragrances, and pretty long lasting! I have to say I laugh at some of the archaic views regarding fragrances and gender that still float around. So many people seem to think a sweet scent can’t be worn by a man, or a fragrance with the vanilla note can’t be worn by a man, when many of the top perfumers are making men’s fragrances, specifically, that are very sweet and touched by vanilla. Update your views people, this is 2018, and this Britney fragrance rocks for all.

I have a lot of Britney perfumes and they usually follow a certain blueprint of how they smell. This one is drastically different from Britney’s other perfumes and I would say the unisex label fits this fragrance.
I have to admit I was nervous about this perfume and the nervousness all boils down to that pink pepper note. I have some perfumes with pepper notes and the pepper note isn’t as strong because it does a great job with blending with the other notes. And then there’s perfumes that smell like I’ve just poured pepper on me. Those are the ones I’m not that crazy about. So I thought I’d go through several trials with this perfume. I bought the body spray to start with. I have a Hidden Fantasy body spray and it smells identical to the perfume and I thought I’d be able to do some prejudging by smelling the body spray first. Turns out the judgments I had in my mind were wrong. I smelled that body spray and thought it smelled like cake batter and assumed that this perfume would basically follow the usual sweetness blueprint that the majority of Britney’s other perfumes follow. All wrong. I got a small bottle of this perfume and I’m honestly NOT linking it up to Private Show. It doesn’t smell a thing like Private Show. There’s never a point for the fragrance where it turns into something that smells like sweet candy on my skin. It tends to stay pretty spicy on me. IF I had to identify a perfume that it’s close to in my mind, it somewhat makes me think of Avon’s Perceive.
The bottle looks cute! I saw in pictures that the bottle tilts on purpose and I was thinking I’d have to put it in the basket I keep my Katy Perry perfume since I don’t have a special stand for it to stay upright. No worries, the bottle does stand up properly on the counter. I love the coloring of the bottle. It’s got black on the sides and the front and black are clear with Prerogative on the front. Lid is black and the band around it is pink with Britney’s name around the label.
All in all, it’s another wonderful fragrance from Britney’s line.

Oops, she did it again! Got to test this on paper at Kohl’s today. What a surprise! I’m kind of “over” celebrity fragrances these days but was *curious* (heh) enough about Brit Brit’s new one to give it a whiff. It smells A LOT like Black Opium – but somehow even more likeable in my opinion. It’s sweet and spicy, with a prominent coffee note. Since I didn’t test on my skin I can’t speak to overall performance in regards to sillage and longevity, but fans of Black Opium should definitely give this one a look.
This is not that unisex in my opinion – unsure why it’s being marketed that way. Obviously that shouldn’t stop anyone who wants to wear it from wearing it, I just feel like it’s an odd label to slap on this ‘fume.

Purchased this fragrance today. I love it! As I do with most of Britney’s perfumes. I find it spicy, dark, and sweet. Not nearly as sweet as her Fantasy line, but still sweet, a dark sweet, if that makes sense. Personally, I find it more feminine than unisex. I don’t know what latex petals are, but I’ll take em, because it sounds sexy and this is one sexy perfume!

Not enough coffee to give me a jolt..I’ll layer with cafe tonka! Definitely similar to private show tho..smoother! Nice fragrance!
I get vanilla and woods in the base so I would agree with the vanilla classification. Quite long lasting!
Edit: this is awesome actually! Very pretty and potent. Who da thunk it?❤️❤️
Quite addictive and really good! Love!

A better version of Private Show. The coffee is more obvious. This is not as sweet as PS. Compared to PS this is more masculine. As for comparisons to Black Opium, this is similar although less complex but better value for money given their roughly equal performance.

  12. :

Gorgeous coffee woody scent. Absolutely unisex. Not one for females who are looking for a very feminine scent, nor for men looking for a very masculine scent. It’s neither too much one way or the other, which is the whole point. In my opinion it’s very well done. I’d wear it, a couple of my female friends wear it. They like it on me, I like it on them. 10/10

It’s interesting to see the most dislikes for this scent come from women over 25 and the most loves comes from men over 25.

    3 out of 5

I see some reviewers comparing Prerogative to Private Show and, after testing Private Show in store today, I have to say they really aren’t anything alike. Private Show was sickeningly sweet and very candy-like. I didn’t get any coffee from it at all, and if it was there it wasn’t a coffee coffee, it was more a very sweet caramel one, which completely took away the point of the coffee note for me. The coffee in Prerogative is more of a natural, deep, real, coffee smell. Prerogative is so much darker, more mature, more masculine, and not at all candy-like. The coffee note is the only note shared with Private Show, and even that is radically different in one compared to the other, so no, I don’t think the two are comparable or alike.

  15. :

    3 out of 5

Prerogative is exactly what Private Show should have been but wasn’t. Better late than never!

  16. :

Love, love, LOVE. It starts off with a strong coffee vibe, has some waxy, woody, spicy creaminess to it, lovely and warm, and then it settles down to a beautiful, gently sweet, almost chocolatey, sandalwood/amber sort of deal. Lightly sweet, but not too much. Just what I’d expect from a lot of men’s cologne’s nowadays as well as some of the less loud and in your face women’s perfumes. I can’t get enough of it. I’ll definitely be repurchasing. Please Britney, never stop making this, and never reformulate. It’s perfect as it is.

  17. :

    3 out of 5

I have to agree with other reviewers, this scent opens very sweet. However, it dries down to a definite unisex fragrance. The coffee note is strong alongside creamy almost vanilla sandalwood. Alongside that I definitely get a maple scent, possibly the amber wood? I’m not 100%.
Longevity isn’t great and neither is silage, but a decent and well done unisex fragrance on Britney’s behalf.

I went with some friends for dinner without putting on fragrance. We finished and we all agreed that we were going to go clubbing. We get there and see a pharmacy store and walk in to get some money from the ATM and use the bathrooms. As I was waiting, I saw a tester of this sitting on the counter, so I just sprayed it because I wanted to smell good as we were going to the trendy clubs.
Anyways, yes, I was shocked because at first it is VERY sweet, but after a while a cofee note gets in the way of the sweetness and it really smells nice. 3 strangers asked me what I was wearing, so I guess it is a noticable fragrance. After this test, I will be getting a bottle of this, but IMO the hot pink part needs to go if this is going to be marketed as a unisex fragrance because there is NO WAY I’m going to have a bottle of this in my car.

  19. :

Sexy. Like musky skin on the drydown. Quite the turn on tbh.

  20. :

    3 out of 5

Reminiscent of Black Opium by YSL, Good Girl by Carolina Herrera, A*Men by Mugler and A*Men Pure Coffee by Mugler. I say reminiscent because obviously it’s not the same, it’s not a dupe. It stands strong on it’s own. It just reminds me, in some ways, of those fragrances.
It’s bang in the middle as far as gender suitability goes. It has coffee, wood, musk, a subtle dark sweetness. Beautiful. Not too feminine, not too masculine. Just right.

  21. :

    3 out of 5

Comparing this with her other scents, Prerogative is probably her biggest departure from her typical sweet smelling scents. Being a unisex perfume, i’m sure we all knew exactly that we weren’t getting a Fantasy 3.0 with this one. The scent at first spray is very feminine, yet maintains its unisex theme. Kinda like a more natural smelling coffee note unlike her previous pillar scent ‘Private Show’ which opened with the extremely overpowering and sweet coffee note. As Prerogative dries down, the masculinity starts to kick in. The woody, peppery notes become the prominent scent, and at this stage it starts to smell less feminine. I guess if you prefer Britney’s more sweeter scents like ‘Fantasy’ ‘Midnight’ etc you may not like this one. However, if you’re not a fan of Britney’s scents and prefer more mature smelling perfumes, definitely give this a try.
I rate this a 6/10, the packaging (at least in my opinion) doesn’t look unisex. I feel that Britney should have used more neutral colours for the packaging rather than just throwing in pink and purple. No doubt Britney’s male fans will be grabbing a bottle, but if she is targeting this for “all” some men may not want to own a pink bottle and have it mistaken as a women’s fragrance in their collection. Regardless, this is just simply logic towards men. Perfume shouldn’t have gender boundaries, I certainly don’t follow them, but when I bought this – intending on sharing it with some male members of my family, none of them wanted to try it because of the feminine looking bottle. Aside from packaging, I really thank Britney for finally giving men a chance at her fragrances. I feel like many people have been asking her for a long time and it is so good that her male fans can finally wear her perfume! The scent is pretty decent, I tend to use her more sweeter scents like Circus Fantasy, Curious and so on however this one is pretty well done. I’d say this smells familiar to Black Opium – if it were branded as unisex. However I smell no resemblance from this to Private Show. Owning and going through two bottles of that perfume myself, Private Show doesn’t smell as luxurious and natural as Prerogative. PS also smells more like iced coffee with a touch of citrus, whilst Prerogative smells more like freshly ground coffee with some added spices to it.

Does anyone else get a juicy booziness from this perfume? Like a sweet ripe wine or something. It’s soooo good.

  23. :

    5 out of 5

Mmmmm…Sweet fresh berries, pink pepper, and apricots open out this lovely fragrance. This smells like a Britney perfume for sure, and as I own nearly all of them I don’t feel like that’s a bad thing. This is no cheap throwaway fragrance, though, regardless of whose name is on the packaging. There is no lily in this for me, and I have no idea what a latex petal is supposed to smell like, but there’s nothing like that present here (sadly). The drydown is an ambery-sandalwood mix, still on the soft sweet side with just a hint of coffee to round it out. I don’t really see the comparisons to Black Opium–I think everyone sees a coffee/espresso note and wants to latch onto that? The coffee is there, but barely, and mixes so smoothly with the sandalwood that I wouldn’t even consider it a main player at all.
I applaud the marketing team for coming up with a ‘unisex’ scent…although I don’t really feel that this hits those buttons—it still feels really feminine to me (and I don’t even gender fragrances). The bottle is fun..more grown up, but gives me a throwback feel with the hot pink–it screams late 80’s to me, which is fitting as it’s named after a song made popular by Bobby Brown in 1988 and covered by Britney in 2004.
All in all, I quite enjoy this fragrance–not groundbreaking, but very pleasant nonetheless.

Pretty much a Black Opium dupe. At a better price. On me it veers to being more feminine. Would be great to purchase if you own and love your Black Opium to layer and give b opium some extra oomph. X

I picked this up at Walmart.
A very nice fragrance. Soft on my skin.
It starts off quite sweet then quickly settles down a bit as the coffee note comes in, and stays. Powdery.
    Lovely.
    Edit: Long lasting!

  26. :

    3 out of 5

This starts off as veering slightly more towards what could be perceived as a feminine scent, but definitely drys down to a more masculine/unisex scent. Genius. The best of all worlds!

  27. :

    3 out of 5

I gave away YSL Black Opium because the longevity and sillage were so poor, no matter how much I layered. I was so sad because the scent was lovely.
But who cares now because this fragrance is it’s younger hotter sister!! I own numerous niche fragrances and this is just as beautiful and long lasting as some of the lovely ones.
    Thank you Britney 🙂

Shockingly good. It’s actually quite addictive! I get a strong mocha coffee, smokiness, woodiness, creaminess, warmth. Slightly fruity, but in a dark way. Mmmm, I think it’s seductive. As a woman in her late thirties I’ll be wearing this throughout the colder months, especially at night. Very nice.

From the one time I have tested this so far, I can say that this is what Curious In Control would smell like if it transitioned to male.
Both sweet, both actually very erotic to my nose in a comforting way. Delicious, I guess…?
This non-binary and genderfluid frag slag is delighted so far! The bottle is ergonomic a good weight and a very surprising mix of textures. The exterior almost reminded me of neoprene to look at, and neoprene is quite often one of my most hated textures. To touch it, however, it’s much smoother and grippier than I first thought. I like how it all looks with the minimal top and would love to smell this on someone else.
Will DEFINITELY test again when I’m not wearing anything else so I can get a better feel for the notes.

  30. :

A very sexy, seductive scent. The pink pepper brings out the berry rosy notes, it’s warmly spicy, the strong coffee note is there, and the drydown is a sensually smooth, creamy, sandalwood and saffron. Suited to either gender for sure. It’s very sensual.

“First, gender isn’t a ploy..it is as solid as cement block…
and it is irritating when perfumes are labelled as unisex, or gender fluid., ….crazy confusion..”
This is one of the most ignorant (and hateful) remarks I’ve read on Fragrantica for quite a while.
This is a definition from Wikipedia which I think is helpful:
“Genderqueer, also known as non-binary, is a catch-all category for gender identities that are not exclusively masculine or feminine—‌identities which are outside the gender binary and cisnormativity. Genderqueer people may express a combination of masculinity and femininity, or neither, in their gender expression.”
Perfume has no gender – all perfumes are “unisex” and people should wear whatever they damn well please irrespective of marketing.

I really like it. This is like Black Opium and Private Show. More like Private Show, but I love PS so I don’t mind. But on my skin it’s not unisex, it’s more feminine.

  35. :

    4 out of 5

I think this is a scent that really does what it says on the tin, so to speak. It is gender neutral in that I think it moulds itself to the gender identity of the wearer. If the wearer projects and presents themselves as masculine, it’s going to come off as masculine, if they project and present themselves as feminine, it’s going to come off as feminine. If the wearer feels themselves to be a mix of the two, or even neither in particular, this scent is going to suit them down to the ground. As the box itself states, this is a fragrance for all, no gender barrier, no age barrier. It’s a confidence boosting fragrance no matter what. I also like the bottle, which is reminiscent of the Bvlgari Black bottle in that it has the outer black rubber ring. Front on it might appear more feminine, but at an angle, when that matte black rubber ring is in view, it looks more masculine.

A mate of mine started wearing a new cologne recently. Really nice, thought I might buy it for myself. I asked him what it was and I was surprised to hear him start with the words Britney Spears, but the fragrance he mentioned was this one! Unisex? I guess I can see it but to be honest it suits my friend so well I think it’s more of a masculine scent. Tried some on myself and, yeah, it’s a thumbs up! It reminds me of A*Men Pure Coffee Mugler for men.

  37. :

    4 out of 5

Deeply divine. Not what I was expecting from a celeb fragrance at all. It’s better than some of the big name expensive brands!

  38. :

    3 out of 5

Oh wow, this is definitely unisex. I’m female and I love this scent for myself but I think I would find it very sexy on a man or a woman. It’s gender-fluid, that’s how I would describe it. I can absolutely see a man wearing this, which is actually part of the appeal for me. I do like unisex, gender-fluid fragrances; always have. If I caught this on a man, he would certainly have my attention.
This scent has a real strength to it; it’s strong, it’s dark, it’s mysterious, and as I said, I find it sexy. The coffee scent is intense, almost smokey. I get a hint of dark chocolate too. I can smell the saffron. It’s warm, it’s woody, it turns heads (as I’ve experienced whilst wearing it) and it’s already become one of my faves. I definitely feel more confident whilst wearing this. It’s Britney’s best as far as I’m concerned.

  39. :

This is a softer version of Black Opium–I wasn’t really impressed with this at first, but trying it on again–I do enjoy it, but I also own Black Opium too so I wouldn’t purchase a full bottle. I still don’t think it’s very uni-sex. Feminine scent to me…

  40. :

    5 out of 5

Here we go again. All gender is in perfume is marketing. Perfumes cannot have genders because perfumes do not have genitalia or reproductive organs. You may certainly buy into this marketing if you wish, but others are under no such obligation, which begs the question of why anyone would run around insinuating that they should. And to suggest that unisex scents should not exist because they are “crazy confusion” is simply absurd.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

I don’t buy into the whole gender marketing ploy I don’t care if it’s marketed towards women or men. If I like the scent I wear it. If you abide by the social constitution of gender labeling them you are missing out on great scents. It’s all about body chemistry and these types of scents work well with my chemistry. Wear what you want and be happy 🙂 I think Britney puts a lot of work into her scents and I admire her for that

I saw this at kohls today & was very excited to sniff it! It smelled good on the paper strip thing so I sprayed it on myself. It smells really good! At first it was a little harsh (pink pepper maybe?) but once it dried down a bit it’s a nice soft woodsy, creamy coffee scent. I can kinda see the comparison to Private Show because of the coffee but I’m thinking PS was more caramely? (I tested PS a few days ago & im waiting for my bottle to arrive that I ordered online) Either way Prerogative is a nice warm scent for the cooler weather. I might just buy this one too! Britney’s perfumes are really amazing

  43. :

    3 out of 5

My husband thought I was wearing a mens cologne, so it didn’t come off as unisex on me. I think it would go very well on a man’s chemistry. It was a bit too scratchy for me, maybe the pepper, and the wood notes came across a bit harsh. I love coffee as a note, though
I *almost* liked it. I’m still undecided. I think if i did one spray of this with two sprays of Private Show, i could add some femininity, with a touch of spice. Or maybe try the body mist and see if that lightens it up some.
It’s MUCH better than curious in control, a recent, regrettable blind buy.

  44. :

Just bought this one today from Walmart.. it’s a solid LIKE for me! My Prerogative is, and I am echoing other reviewers saying this, a mishmash of Black Opium EDP and Private Show. I get that same fruity burst that I get from PS upon the first spritz, then it dries down to the PS caramel coffee + BO vanilla coffee.
I adore Black Opium but it doesn’t project well on me, and Private Show doesn’t last.. so this seems to be a good compromise for me as it projects well and so far has lasted about 4 hours with no signs of quitting. Not a bad little bargain. If you have a sweet tooth and love coffee scents this is a great one to snatch up.
Be aware people are selling it for exorbitant prices on ebay. Just get it at Walmart for $25 USD 🙂

Ok.. let me get this clear, i didnt know notes of this before trying and all i got on my skin was Black opium from YSL. At first its a blast of creamy vanilla, i swear! Then i tend to smell a coffee notes but its not a smell of freshly brewed coffee, its more like a latte. I dont smell much of other notes listed (goji berries do not have actually a very pronounced smell). Shaffron?? I dont smell it here. At least its very weak one then. Its kind of a cheaper dupe for Black Opium with more creamy notes.
Definetly not unisex unless you wear creamy vanilla scents as a man. Just a clever marketing move based on “all inclusivity” movement at this moment.
Dries down to a very basic unimpressive scent.
Sory not sorry but after sniffing thousands of fragrances in my life so far i refuse to justify any mediocre fragrance anymore.
Do not remove this comment as users have their right to express a negative opinion as well as positive and sometimes a negative review is more useful in our hyped up world of consumerism.

I like this . It’s warm , creamy , a little hint of smokiness , like a toasted marshmallow . Not as fruity & bright as Private Show but there’s similiarities . It does have a splash of berries to brighten things up . It’s very feminine . It’s a delicious gourmand , which is my favorite style fragrance . Even the first spray is delicious , Not all perfumes start amazing but this does , no weird harsh ugly notes at first burst at all .
Not terribly unique , but it’s yummy & has alot of appeal .
Lasts about six hours on me .

A delicious, almost edible blend reminiscent of Black Opium and two of Britney’s own perfumes, Private Show and Fantasy. The apricot and lily render the scent sweet and creamy at first, but the coffee, saffron, and hint of rubber anchor the scent and deem it unisex. As a 32 year-old male, I have no problem wearing this as the nights get a little cooler.

  48. :

    3 out of 5

A refined version of private show. The fruitiness is muted and prerogative is smoother and rounded.
I really like this as one of my favs in the Britney line.
    Long lasting and moderate sillage.

  49. :

It is sweet, but that coffee note is so intriguing. It does remind me of Black Opium, but less harsh. In my opinion this doesn’t smell like Private Show. Private Show is way sweeter than this one.
    I love it

I have the body spray of this, and was VERY impressed! I know it’s supposed to be unisex, but it’s more a feminine leaning scent. I know NOIR by Bath & Body Works is a male cologne and works as a female scent due to the vanilla & cardamom in it. This newest venture by Britney is very good, and with the fall/winter approaching, I may get the perfume. This is an EXACT DUPE of a discontinued scent by BBW called “Dreamy Vanilla Woods” that they had about 7+ years ago. It had vanilla, saffron, wood notes. This is a perfect replica for it if you are fans of Madagascar vanilla, coffee scents. It lasts a while on me.

Prerogative got me by a BIG surprise. It is by far THE ONLY Britney Spears’s fragrance that I REALLY like and think that it is interesting/unique enough for me to even think about investing in the biggest bottle. A sad thing is that this is the first BS perfume that I actually enjoy the juice inside, but I wish that it is bottled in one of those cute rhinestoned Fantasy bottles, as I don’t like Prerogative bottle in reality at all. Oh well…Can’t have everything sometimes 🙂
Back to the juice itself. I smelled one of the most delicious, sweet and creamy espresso foam/coffee ever, strongly from the opening, and then lasted as a faded/weaker leftover scent, appeared here and there again, thru out the dry down. It smelled so yummy, awakening, pleasant and unusual indeed, unlike the opening of many others of BS previous releases. However, Prerogative’s dry down blended in the category of just a mediocre perfume with a fruity floral sweet base (with lily, berries, and saffron), and nothing special. Apricot and wood notes were actually pretty quiet on me.
I like Prerogative a lot, and I guess that with my chemistry, I’m lucky to enjoy the prominent coffee/espresso/cappuccino scent more than others can. I also find Prerogative similar to Private Show, but in a much smoother and more enjoyable way, without the artificial or cloying effect from Private Show (or even some Fantasy versions), which is a true blessing for me. Definitely will get a bottle of this.

I’m a man and this actually works for me. It dries very clean. It reminds me A LOT of the Elizabeth and James fragrances, which are also gender neutral.

Fruity floral shampoo scent that is almost identical to AEO Live fragrance but much better quality. It’s a sugary apricot in tons of sandalwood all the way from a start to the finish where’s sandalwood remains in the main roll. Actually it’s well done and though I would never wear it I keep sniffing my hand with interest as it gives some salty edges. On my skin I’ve got good longevity, after 5 hours it still notecable with soft projection. Don’t see it unisex but hei the world is in constant change..

On me this is a slightly stronger version of private show & that’s all I can say about it. It is nice don’t get me wrong but I don’t feel like it was needed. If it was reduced I’d get a bottle but I wouldn’t pay full price for it as I just don’t think it’s worth the money.
The bottle looks alright in person too, I thiught it might look tacky but it’s actually alright.
It lasts about 2-3 hours on me.

I tested this in store. I think this is what I wanted private show to smell like. I won’t be buying it though as it smells very similar to oriflame love potion which I already have 🙂

It does smells a little bit like private show from the bottle because of the coffee notes, but when spray it to my skin, it smells different. Which is really cool, its warm and uplifting scent. I have to love it.

Smells nice but it’s not strong. It resembles a very light watered down version of Zara Femme. Zara Femme is cheaper and lasts longer than this. There nothing unisex about this. It lasts for about 2 hours then smells like a light vanilla candle. Disappointed.

I’m gonna be straight up honest here, this is a nice enough perfume however I feel like ‘Prerogative’ is a mediocre ‘Private Show’’. Not because it’s unpleasant but rather a less interesting & overall weaker scent. The lasting power on my skin is about 1 hour. Meh.
Perfume Team: “Miss Spears, how about your next perfume is very similar to Private Show. Coffee based BUT we shall add more woodsy notes, throw in the word latex because it sounds dangerous & sexy!! Oh and spicy pink pepper then market it as unisex!! It’ll be revolutionary!!”
    Britney: “I love coffee.”
Nice perfume however I personally love & prefer Private Show. Definitely test it out before buying as you may be disappointed.

Putting LATEX PETALS (middle notes) is really bizzare choice; extremely fun tho…fragrantica now has to officially list it as a legit note

The fragrance is nice and it does slightly remind me of private show, but it smells like a Bath & Body Works scent I’ve smelt already. I don’t detect any sandalwood. I just mainly smell the coffee, pink pepper and some floral notes. I purchased the mist so i can’t really speak on tbe longevity and silage. I like how she made this unisex to show that men don’t have to be limited to the “masculine” scents marketed for them. You are free to wear what you like. Although it leans more on the feminine side, it being labeled unisex will make men comfortable enough to at least try it. The packaging could’ve been more gender neutral though to appeal to both genders. But i guess it’s the scent that counts.

I get that it smells a bit like Private Show because of the coffee note, but really, the two aren’t that similar on my skin. Private Show didn’t smell good on me for whatever reason, but I absolutely love the way that Prerogative wears. It’s a coffee and wood-heavy scent. The only issue I find is that I wish the apricot/goji opening carried a bit more on my skin. I can definitely smell it on a sheet of paper, and I can smell it in the cap of the bottle, but the top fades as quickly as it starts on my skin. Other than that, though, I love it!

It is a little to much like Private Show, which is very disappointing. Its has a bit more coffee but they arent different enough. The longevity & sillage are not very good either. I only got about 4 hours out of it & it seems like more of a skin scent. Its smells good but I wont rebuy it. I have Private Show & ill stick with that.

I agree, this is very similar to Private Show. Also hints at Mugler’s Alien. So, Prerogative is nothing new. Very gourmand to my nose. Moderate sillage and about 4 hours longevity before becoming a skin scent. Would make a fragrance for the coffee shop. I really don’t pick up any of the notes listed here other than the coffee note and a slight hint of sandalwood. I pick up a creaminess here. Borderline candy bomb sweet and a little synthetic and cloying to my nose. It’s nice enough, may behave differently when the cold weather rolls in (hot Summer here right now). I don’t dislike this. It’s okay, especially great for teens and young gals. I just wish Spears’ camp would create something new. Many of her fragran
