Description

In 2004 Prada launched its first fragrance for broader audience – Prada Eau de Parfum. Before that, starting with 2000 the company launched several fragrances as exclusive series available exclusively in Prada boutiques (four fragrances in 2000 and three in 2007).

Prada by Prada is oriental fragrance based on amber the intense accord of which imbues the entire composition. Very modern variant of the classic fragrance.
In the composition amber is surrounded by four main essences (essential oils): Indian sandalwood, Indonesian patchouli, French labdanum resin, and Siam benzoin.
With obvious dominancy of amber, the top notes are decorated with citruses, soft flowers are appearing in the heart, while dry earthy patchouli scent united with vanilla dominates the base.

Top notes: bergamot, bitter orange, mandarin, mimosa absolute
Middle notes: rose absolute, patchouli absolute
Base notes: labdanum, Tonka beans, vanilla, sandalwood, benzoin
The fragrance was created by Carlos Benaim, Max and Clement Gavarry of IFF.

Prada Intense was created in 2005 and is absolutely identical by its composition, but is more intense by its concentration, although both Prada and Prada Intense are of Eau de Parfum concentrations. However, the scent sounds a bit different. Prada intense is slightly warmer and sweeter with increased concentration of patchouli.

Prada (Amber) was created by Carlos Benaim, Max Gavarry and Clement Gavarry.

    Hi 🙂
    wondering if you can advise…
    prada amber
    prada tendre
    prada leau ambree
what are the differences in terms of feel? how does each one feel in terms of general accords (as opposed to individual notes).
i am seeing fancy nights is pretty similar to prada amber, what could be comparable for the other two?
    thanks lots

It is now teh years since I wrote my first review of Prada (Amber) Prada for this site. How things have changed! Including my body chemistry or the construction of this perfume it seems, because back then it was just a bit thin and tinny on my skin, distinctly unimpressive.
A decade later this is a perfect perfume for me; Amber, wood, patchouli with very pleasant flowers following in the dry down, a statement in cool city chic, elegant and sophisticated without any effort. I wonder if I will love it even more in ten years time?

Prada Amber strikes me as hugely unisex, in that it is woody and interesting, rather than overly floral or gourmand. The sweetness is distinct, but not dominant. I truly enjoyed my sample, wearing it side by side with Fancy Nights for purposes of comparison. They are close, though Prada Amber has a more unisex, less vanillic feel. It’s almost like a his and hers version of the same perfume brief! I genuinely LOVE Fancy Nights, even it if is simpler and sweeter.
But then something occurred to astound me. I happened to layer the unisex bargain, Wicked Wahine Hibiscus (the name is misleading!) with Fancy Nights, as Hibiscus on its own is simply too sharp and masculine for me. Together they melded to perfection, but I wasn’t smelling merely an improved Hibiscus… To test out my nose, I immediately sprayed Prada Amber on the other arm, & Voila, it is clear! Without doubt, Hibiscus and Fancy Nights together are magic – in other words, Prada Amber. This is as close to a perfect copy as you can get, and just as artistic and tasteful as the original, dare I say it.
If you’ve ever brought home gorgeously executed, reproduction art at a bargain price, you’ll know how it feels to find such budget beauty. DARN good.
All this to say, isn’t perfume exploration an artistic adventure?!

This is not Andrier’s work, it is from the 90s.In fact is my favorite amongst Prada perfumes, stronger, with a longer longevity.Andrier’s work is more on the very soft side, and while it has good scents like Prada Candy Kiss and Infusion D’Iris, it has nothing with Amber’s power and breath of conception, her perfumes are on the minimalist side.h

2004’s PRADA Amber’s true notes are listed above IN THE TEXT…
TOP-bergamot, bitter orange, mandarin, mimosa absolute
    HEART-rose absolute, patchouli absolute
BASE-labdanum, Tonka beans, vanilla, sandalwood, benzoin
the “notes for votes” pictures are NOTE FOR NOTE those of PRADA Prada from 1990! 😉
This is still listed as available on the PRADA site (under “Pradasphere/Fragrances”) as of 24AUG2018; along with Amber Man & Amber Man Intense.
A gorgeous oriental!! A reference amber and another flawlessly blended elegant floriental from the hands of the uber-talented Daniela Andrier. All three of the femme flankers of AMBER are worth owning a delightful quartet of variations on a theme that never seem to become tiresome nor annoying.
Panache without pretense, this whole line (men’s duo included) is worth sniffing out…before it goes the way of the dodo to make way for the “hommes et femmes” of tomorrow.
    *sighs*
    smell swell & be well,
    GP

The name says it all. It’s very much Amber. It’s so extremely bold but to my nose not in a good way. I’m not an amber fan though. If you are than you will love this offering. It’s very strong, deep, resinous and ummm amber-y ha ha. It’s a no for my skin and chemistry but I appreciate the quality.
EDIT: Okay, sooooo I have to say I’m a little surprised by this Amber. I had formed an opinion based on my smelling it in the little bottle. I put it on my skin just to give it another chance and wow it’s gorgeous. It has a bit of that old fashioned smell to it that makes me very hesitant to wear but I’m learning to love this one for sure. Very nice.

this is a very unique and bold fragrance. it is warm and rich, but also standoffish. i don’t know why i love it so much, as when i put it on i’m a bit scared to wear it. definitely makes a statement. would not recommend for the office.

Spicy woody powdery. Lots of spice. Interesting.
First time I use this, I can’t stand it. It’s almost as if someone spray some pepper spray on me.
A couple years I tried again and I can appreciate the bravery of this scent.
I like the dry down, the woody and spice now cooperate together instead one and another try to steal the spotlight

It’s hard not to love Prada Amber, but I can’t really describe it as an everyday fragrance. This stuff is low-key beast! It’s great when you need a warm (and intense) hug and a tremendous amount of soapy sweetness in your life. And trust me, after you spray the hug isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. It lasts and lasts.
I can’t really tolerate Prada Amber outside of the winter months. Way too heavy. But it’s wonderful around the holidays. It’s the olfactory equivalent of a thick Christmas sweater. Highly recommended.

Oh no. Doesn’t work for me – the amber and patchouli is too sharp and strong – there’s a presence of actually a very nice vanilla undertone trying to soften it. But not enough.
It’s probably love or hate kind of a perfume and I obviously lean toward the second option. For me this smells old lady-ish and I can’t imagine being in the same elevator with someone wearing this.

  12. :

I own a 7ml mini bottle of this. Maybe it’s my skin chemistry but it just doesn’t seem to last long on me whatsoever,so it’s hard to smell it on myself and I don’t think I’ll fill up a room or be more noticeable beyond close physical interactions. Its warm and a tad sweet from the amber, I can kind of see why it’s seen as oriental a bit. It however smells too mature for me, it’s not fun or interesting either. I probably wouldn’t mind someone else with it on but I don’t see this working for me.

Historically, Prada Amber was “created” by Mrs. Miuccia Prada with the help of notable perfumers in 2004, when she was seeking in her own words, “the memory of a scent she sampled as a teenager.” Mrs. Prada at sixteen would sneak into the bathroom in the house of her friend, whose mother originally owned the scent, only to smell it. She became obsessed with it. She’d go to New York to buy that perfume from the little artisanal shop on Madison Avenue called Shelley Marks, the only shop that offered it. But the shop at some point closed down—and this, for Mrs. Prada, was a disaster… So there came Prada Amber. It’s the scent she “still mostly wears today,” she admitted in an interview. It is then safe to say that Prada Amber is closest to Mrs. Prada’s heart. And to her character.Admittedly, Mrs. Prada is a reserved person. Unlike other designers who enjoy the crowd after their shows, Mrs. Prada barely reveals herself to the audience. She’s shy and nervous, elusive in interviews even. Despite that, she has driven the Prada name to the luxury fashion house it is today. In parallel, this is what Prada Amber’s scent seems to me. And to some other reviewers I read here. “It is weak,” “It does smell like a nice woman, but I cannot imagine a power woman wearing this,” some said. To me, Prada Amber doesn’t smell like a typical Miranda Priestly. But it does smell sophisticated. It’s being juicy and dry makes it beautiful. It does have a staying power—lasting a decent amount of time for seven to ten hours—though sometimes it feels like it’s faded. It breaks the stereotype of a strong personality and implies that silence could mean power, while loudness could mean insecurity.Seasonally, I buy my mother her fragrances every other month or so, and for this season, I bought Prada Amber for her. Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense has been my favorite fragrance for a long time now, my signature, so maybe I wanted the same house for my mother. Christmas or Hanukah—whatever we call it—is a special occasion for most of us, so gifts should be just as special. And when I first sprayed Prada Amber, as noted by many, it reminded me of Jessica Simpson’s Fancy Nights, which I purposefully bought for comparison. Comparatively, the two fragrances resemble each other at a margin of 97 percent, a pretentious-sounding but instinct-driven figure by me. Much like identical twins sporting two different tastes. While Jessica Simpson’s Fancy Nights smells like a “dense amber the color of dark caramel,” Prada Amber is more light and airy. It smells like a “radiant amber the color of gold”—the kind that glows, or sometimes burns.

Wow, this is my first time testing Prada Amber and the first thing that came to mind was Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights is that you? but at 5x the price? In different packaging? Never in my life have I detected 2 scents that so closely imitate each other. I won’t review it as I have wrote an extensive review on Jessica Simpson Fancy nights and I honestly cannot detect any differences between the 2 to even do a comparison. If you are on a budget and aren’t intent on having the brand name Prada in your collection- Opt for fancy nights and you will not be dissapointed!

I always spritz/test some Amber when I get the chance. It’s just so beautifully done and shows that Mainstream/Designer fragrances once in a while steer into daring & great territory. Amber is deep, resinous and spicy while having a transparent quality at the same time. Perfume really is art! It’s so gorgeous and def unisex. The trail it leaves behind is magnificent! And it sticks forever! My BF bought a car a while back and its former owner def used Prada Amber, it still smelled of it and I didn’t mind that at all! 🙂
Prada is currently out of my budget (it’s the one that’s never on sale… but ok!) and I hope to receive a bottle of Angel for my birthday so that’s that. However: as for the JS Fancy Nights and Prada comparison – I once owned FN and gave it away. I honestly don’t know what got into me that day!! Obviously Fancy Nights does use more affordable materials/ingredients and we perfume lovers know that and analyze each and every aspect of the perfume at hand. But the rest of society does not and it is a good perfume. So if you love Prada and are rather tight right now – go buy FN instead nearly nobody will notice the difference so enjoy it while you can!

    Amber now there’s a perfume!
I first encountered this fragrance when I used to go to Church in Louisville Kentucky. That was a few years ago and we my husband and I lived in KY for a few years. The Church we attended (not naming names) had a few bad apples in it, the hypocritical kind, holier-than-thou but privately just-like-thou but worse! A lady that organized Church picnics and Bible reading groups used to wear this during the meetings not the picnics. At first I couldn’t stand it because she was so liberal with it and it does tend to overwhelm you if you’re the innocent nose around it! I asked her what perfume she wore and it was not until after I’d moved out of Kentucky that I bought the perfume for myself out of curiosity and to see how I could wear it.
On me this a floral green a bit of a beautiful Irish spring type of scent. I don’t mean the soap. It smells of green plants, flowers, moss, and delicious amber. It is a fragrance that is nothing like what’s out there today. She is refined and classy, a throwback to more complex full long lasting fragrances. I can’t compare it to any one specific fragrance and the scent is in itself incomparable but if I had to put it into a shelf with similar fragrances that shelf would include Red Door Elizabeth Arden and Safari Ralph Lauren. This is a honeyed floral scent redolent with deep red carnation. A top of sweet citrus and fruity ylang in the heart, along with rose/carnation. The dry down is a good base of amber but there’s more green in it like moss or patchouli some sandalwood. The dry down is more unisex/masculine than the way it opens.
Amber is a mature amber based fragrance with excellent longevity and sillage. If you like real strong perfume that has a life of it’s own this is it. But spraying too much kills it. This is much better applied lightly just one no more than two spritz. Smells better in the early and late autumn. The scent opens up like a little season in itself: fruit, flowers, honey, wood, reminds me of Thanksgiving.

Strong perfume but so beautiful when I grew up and turn twenty three for me that was the mature age I wore this parfum. Amber Prada is a classic green flower parfum. So many beautiful notes for me. Bergamot jasmine rose honey patchouli amber vanilla. This is Oriental and natural like a forest. Smell to me a bit like Ralph Lauren Safari for Women but with more amber and with delicious citrus and rose. Feminine and sexy. Is a good day time summer and spring time parfum for going out dressed suit blouse skirt or dress sundress has amazing time to wear on your skin for hours. A beautiful so beautiful parfum

Fancy Nights clone! I say this because Fancy Nights is the more potent, longlasting version of this. If I don’t have a bottle of Fancy Nights, and without knowing this is a Prada fragrance, I would think this is a fake Fancy Nights juice. Please save your money and get Fancy Nights at several discounters. I remember getting a full 100 ml bottle of Fancy Nights for $18. Get that instead and buy fancy makeup with the remaining money.

I got this perfume when it was cold outside.
Then it pushed me away, i didnt like it. Samples of resin and tonic, plus pepper and mimosa, gave such a mixture together.
Now it’s the end of April and it’s warm, but not sunny, spring like, it fits nicely, a little warmth like a cashmere sweater, and a bit like a strong cognac or floral essence. Vanilia, despite being in the composition, is not to out there.
How gorgeous Prada handbag is so great and this fragrance is.
I like it very much.Sweet in a dry way. Like dry wine way.
Classic it becomes. Longevity is great.

I love this perfume, but even more so the body cream of the same scent which sadly has been discontinued. I could put the body cream on and it dried down to the most lovely scent. It smelled different than the perfume- softer, but it seemed to last longer than the fragrance on my skin at least.

Story time: I first sniffed this at a store when I was 10 or 11 years old and instantly fell in love. I did not care one bit that it was not remotely age appropriate (my other favorites were Dior’s Poison and Coty Wild Musk…seems the more I’ve aged the less I’ve matured), I had to have it and requested it for Christmas. My dear father, who loves more “serious” perfumes and has since gifted me Chanel No. 5, No. 19, and Shalimar all before the ripe young age of 20, went ahead and bought me a 1oz bottle for Christmas. I was so overjoyed that I used the rest of my birthday money and allowance to buy him the men’s version of Prada Amber. He found it to be too feminine, and let me keep the bottle, so I bathed myself in both forms of Prada Amber. Eventually, my grandmother sniffed the women’s Prada Amber on me, declared it her new love and even said it would replace her signature Estée Lauder Intuition. I gave her my bottle though almost immediately bought myself a new bottle because I missed it so much. Needless to say, it is my signature, a likely lifelong affair, and now even a family affair. I will forever be purchasing bottles for myself and my beloved grandma. Yes, my 21 year old self and my 81 year old grandma both wear this and it suits us both to a t, though we have similar taste in perfumes in general it seems (I also got her onto MAC MV3). Even my dad never fails to compliment either of us on this. What can I say? It is perfect.

    I’ll start from the end:
I’m smelling this on the top of my hand and the sensation is woody, mysterious, a bit spicy – rather nice for a cold evening like tonight. I sprayed just a few atoms about two hours ago and now it’s fine. But the opening and the heart notes were a nightmare – a horrid combination of leather, milk, honey and amber, with a huge dose of bitter woody notes (no, not sandalwood, rather guaiac or cedar and real, earthy patchouli), something like Avon’s Prowl only multiplied by 10 and withoug Prowl’s sweetness. Fading ylang-ylang blossom only makes it worse. I can imagine that this may smell sensational on someone but I’d personally rather forget about this perfume… for the time being. The longer, the better:D

Its official name is Prada Eau de Parfum, but it ended up becoming better known as Prada Amber because of the top plate that it brings in its bottle, containing the key ingredients of the composition and the term AMBER, highlighted. It was released in 2004 and creates a lot of confusion between users and reviewers because of another (and much older) perfume called Prada by Prada, from 1990, at a time when the company only released fragrances for sale exclusively in its boutiques.
Prada Amber does not have honey or ylang-ylang in its composition. And it also has no amber notes. The term comes from the olfactory family to which it pays homage: the ambery, full of oriental nuances and warm notes, as benzoin.
And since I’m talking about notes, here go the ones that make this fragrance: bergamot, bitter orange, mandarin and mimosa absolute, at the top. Then, in the body of the fragrance, absolute of roses and absolute of the patchouli leaves from Indonesia. Lastly, in the base, labdanum from France, tonka bean, vanilla, sandalwood from India and benzoin resin from Siam.
THE CORRECT NOTES ARE LISTED ABOVE, BUT THE PICTURES ARE DIFFERENT.
The key ingredients engraved on the top plate are not idle there. The company argues that each of them reflects one dimension of the fragrance: the resin of labdanum is precious, the patchouli leaves are addictive, the benzoin is profound and the Indian sandalwood is pure.
On the skin, Prada Amber is much more unisex than exclusively female. In fact, I dare say it would be an excellent version for the classic Le Male or, better yet, a feminine facet for the delicious Body Kouros.
From the moment it touches the skin, it is exotic and sensual. The bitter orange cuts off any attempt to become a sickly gourmand. And this mix of something silky and bitter often scare many women. The patchouli is the star of the composition and manages to convey earthy and chocolate nuances, all at once. But none of this would have reason to exist without the milky aspect of sandalwood, which leaves the fragrance almondy and smooth. In the end, throw it all on a vanilla base and you’ll understand the power of Prada Amber, which projects very well, but tends to cause a certain fatigue. The person wearing it may not feel it anymore, but it is there, projecting a lot. The lasting is also wonderful!
In 2005, the company released an even more intense version and in 2006 the famous male version.
Next time you think that all Prada fragrance is light, elegant and soapy, remember this review and think of experimenting on your skin. You might be surprised, just like me.

Prada is really amazing perfume! Few years ago I didn’t like them and felt that it is a strong oriental perfume for old ladies. But this changed when I tried it.
They are oriental warm and intriguing as they change on skin.
I love it! It is a sexy perfume! They are on my wish list for next perfume shopping!

  26. :

This scent reads golden orange and green to me. Soft patchouli and assorted green notes drenched in honey and benzoin with a runny non-sweet amber taking center stage. The sillage of this is minimal, one hour after application it’s a skin scent on me, so it’s a treat for the people that get close. I feel like this perfume references the late 80’s and early 90’s particular flavor of elegance and femininity but without feeling “dated” in the least (if such a thing as dated perfume even exists). Still, it doesn’t entice me enough to be more than a like.

Prada Amber reminds me of many other scents, but it’s got what my dad describes as “that hippie smell” going that I love. (Dad probably means the patchouli.) Prada Amber is like a Phish/Dead show without the body odor.
Prada Amber is really quite akin to the Prada design aesthetic – strong, sophisticated, luxurious and TOTALLY unapologetic.

  29. :

I bought some sample of this a year ago. I thought it would be a well blended woody perfume wich it is. It is also a difficult fragrance.
The first spray is intense and i can subtly sense the vanilla and sweet honey. I am not familiar with amber in a perfume, the benzoin note in this i like.In nature there was this sticky ‘glue’ on crust of trees, remembering it from when little. A pine forest comes in mind. I also have some jewelry made of amber.
Anyway it smells like a hippie or Indian shop green and earthy, you enter and the smell of burning incense sticks and lotions hit your nostrils. It reminds me of organic hand creams, i have some and they all share the same specific green smell.
It has a fresh cut grass smell to it and a metallic vibe. It is fresh and stimulating and unisex as well, i would spray my room with it rather than wear it. Smells like some spice for making food.
It is also alluring and balsamic intense, smells of anise wich dominates the other notes, patchouli and green herbal and the tonka bean note stands out.it is an interesting fragrance nevertheless.
After an hour the smell loses intensity after two hours almost fades away.

  30. :

Blissful at first, with herbal anise mixed with caramelic amber. Smells playfully sexy, inviting, alluring. Still good after an hour, when it becomes warm, woody butterscotch. Then it becomes a bit cloying and synthetic after a few hours. I think I could handle that part, and I love the concept, I just wish it were carried out a little better.

I always sleep with fragrance. I liked this and gave my collar bone a small spray and drifted off to delicious sleep. Morning….the remaining notes made me sick. It was truly awful and I scrubbed it off. So, clearly, this is not for me

I bought this for its comparison to my perfection perfume (jessica simpson fancy nights) isnt it usually the other way around? Anyway…
I can smell the resemblance. I definitely get it….but this doesn’t wear half as long and this isn’t as deep as fancy nights. Seriously. And this is coming from a celebrity scent snob! This is pretty nevertheless. It’s just not worth the price tag. Seriously, go get a bottle of fancy nights.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

Ok so, I have this on my left hand and it smells very faint, I do not like this on the card but on my skin it is lovely. I have fancy nights on my other hand and it is holding up better. They smell just the same but I will stay with Jessica Simpson fancy nights, its cheaper and wears longer

  34. :

    3 out of 5

I really do not like the opening of this perfume; the tarragon and green notes are very strong and unpleasant for me, a sickening turnoff. After a while it does dry down to a pleasant scent, a sweet-sour patchouli vanilla. That stage is very similar to the dry-down on a different scent that I have, Shiseido Zen Secret Bloom. I much prefer the opening on Secret Bloom though.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

I asked for a recommendation from the Sephora associate and she typed up “incense” in her computer. She showed me this and Tom Ford BO.
I immediately liked the feminine green note (smelled to me like really good quality green/peppery olive oil) and a nice balanced incense and flowers. I am awful at picking out flowers but I thought it may have been orange blossom (which is not listed, maybe it’s just the lime). There is a slight earthy herbal, which could be tarragon mixed with patchouli but it definitely smelled a slight bit sweet/dark (tarragon, sasparilla, basil, anise, licorice all have that herbal sweet/dark quality). There is definitely amber in here that smells kind of like a dusky old music shop.
Enough of analyzing the ingredients, as a whole, I do find myself going back in time a little with this fragrance, half church mass, half Temple of Isis. Keep away from this if you want to smell like a fruity/floral/vanilla, it’s very herbaceous incense floral.

I asked my mum her opinion on this one
she screwed up her face and said “smells like pancakes”
I asked if that was a bad thing and she said no just smells like breakfast.
I personally smell sweet balminess that is kept fresh by the patchouli.
I didn’t like it as first but on my skin this becomes quite creamy, sweet and the sillage is amazing.
Also LABDANUM is one of the major notes in this. Its even listed on the bottle.
I purchased this finally, i am so in love with this. Its that one perfume that makes you feel warm and happy inside.
Edit: I get what my mum was saying now, I sometimes smell banana fritters covered in syrup.

Years ago this frag was enchanting. Lying on the forest floor after a midnight rain. Mystery, magic, class. But I tried it on again in the shop recently and now I really dislike it, definitely a scrubber on my skin. 🙁 I think I just hate patchouli now and this is filled with it.

I hated this for a good 30 minutes, then it really softened up to a slightly sweet, woodsy scent. The amber is noticeable, but in the background. I could wear this to the office, or a dinner date and not be considered obnoxious. Update: hours later, she’s so soft and luxurious…I feel guilty for not liking her at first. She’s definitely grown on me like a warm, beautiful parasite.

Prada by Prada (o anche Amber).

I just have a little sample of this I got from a swap and I almost forgotten it but found it tonight and put it on after I showered and WOW this is beautiful. Very sappy. As in tree sap. I love that smell it is very nostalgic of my childhood in Colorado. If you love REAL Amber that smells that tree sap then this for you. This is for sure not that fake Amber you smell in everything. Definitely getting a bottle as soon as I can.

This one smells similar to Coromandel, except for the opening dewy green note absent in Coromandel. Not as loud as Coromandel and less “parfumey” it exudes class and sophistication. The patchouli is rendered exactly like in Coromandel, smooth and not at all earthy nor dirty. Extremely versatile and suitable for both genders and for every kind of situation. 8/10, Very good!

This should be called ‘patchouli’ instead of ‘amber’. Patchouli is definitely the most noticeable scent here. But don’t let that send you running.
So this was given to me by my mother-in-law, a woman who LOVES patchouli. Heavy heavy patchouli. Her favorite scent is Thiery Mugler Angel to give you an idea. She bought this for herself and wore it a while but she likes her Angel more because this patchouli wasn’t quite “right” for her. I don’t really mind patchouli… In a candle or incense or something…. But on me it just doesn’t sit right and it COMPLETELY overwhelmes all other smells to my nose. I am NOT a fan of heavy patchouli scents, to me it’s like what the classic “old lady” perfume would be described as. I do not want to smell “old lady”.
Well, let me tell you this is one patchouli I actually don’t mind & it doesn’t smell terrible on me. I still don’t love the patchouli in it but it’s tolerable. Everything else in it balances it out nicely. That being said, I like it but don’t love it, but if you are like me & just want something a little different than my usual then this is a nice try.

The only Prada I really love ,this amber is very warm and sultry and lasts forever unlike all the fragrances in the Candy line which I find a bit fleeting

RE my previous review: Something about this fragrance is intellectual, too. I will be giving a presentation at the Western Psychological Association conference soon and I am considering wearing this perfume.

Herbal, green, balmy, and crisp, nothing like a patchouli only scent. Any sweetness is well tempered. Confident and modern.

Fuzzy and juicy. Sensual and heady. Something about this is sophisticated and classic, yet not old lady-ish. Longevity is amazing!

Patchouli amber bomb. Almost medicinal, reminds me of floor cleaner I used to own. I usually like patchouli perfumes, but this one stayed sharp and reminded me of patchouli scents emanating from stores that sell crystals and tarot cards. Not complex enough, as I feel like applying patchouli essential oil would be barely different.

Bought the refill version of this frag since i think this thing needs to be DABBED not sprayed. It’s much too MUCH to be spraying this lol

I love this! I was given a bottle of the original formulation. It’s very sweet in the bottle but masculine on my skin. It isn’t a “sweet” vanillic, candy-like amber but does have a certain sweetness to it after awhile. As the masculine green notes and patchouli dries down out comes the benzoin and sandalwood with a hint of honey. Ultimately revealed upon dry down is a soft powdery amber on my skin with amazing sillage and longevity. I’ve worn it several times and always received compliments.
Be warned: 1 or 2 sprays MAX is MORE than enough. Any more than that is headache inducing to one’s self and those around you. It will clear a room! This is potent stuff! Sillage: Huge! Longevity: 12+ hours.

    I love this.
It transitions on my skin, some chocolate, a bit of vanilla, and a constant of powdery amber and patchouli.
Some say it reminds them of Fancy Night, I can see that–except I hate Fancy Night, on me it is cloying. But this, oh this is rich.
It has a few loud moments, some musty ones too–but that is part of the allure for me.
Great longevity and sillage, be careful not to be heavy-handed when spraying 🙂

Bought a bottle in the early ’90. Loved it. The spraying cap went off _ I salvaged what was left to a glass vial. Enjoyed it to the last drop. Sharpness and sweetness were very balanced, an almost bitter and aromatic opening spelled confidence, and the spicy – ambery middle phase was elegant but also so companionable. Than a long pause. I considered buying it again. Magic was gone – no more depth, no more vanilla outcome, a charmless thing. I guess skin chemistry changes with time, too.

So similar to my beloved midnight poison by Dior!

This is a a horror story on me.
I was headed back home from vacation abroad, and found the perfume in the duty-free shop. I was so excited to try it I sprayed right on my arm.
First, it was BO. No sweetness, no citrus…just animal ass rubbed on patchouli armpit. What’s worse, sillage is MASSIVE on me – I had people cursing me in the homeland security line, but no loude
