Description

In January 2016, Dior introduces a new addition to the Poison collection by the name of Poison Girl, intended for younger lovers of the iconic brand, which comes in a pink bottle in the classic shape of Poison. The new fragrance is announced as a bitter – sweet floral, scandalously delicious, made for rebellious young women, pop – feminists who follow their dreams.

The composition consists of precious raw ingredients. Sicilian bitter orange leads to the heart of roses, which consists of May rose from Grasse and Damascus rose. Venezuelan tonka bean, sandalwood from Sri Lanka, tolu balm, almond and vanilla end with a warm, oriental sweetness. The perfumer is Francois Demachy.

The face of the perfume is French – American model and actress Camille Rowe. The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

EDP and EDT are very similar. EDT is more delicate. EDP is more mature, more intense and more sensual. Vanilla, marzipan, tonka, warm – spicy tolu balsam with a subtle orange note. The whole sounds very feminine, warm. I have associations with Christmas, as well as with lace underwear. I must admit that I did not have such extreme associations yet. And that makes Poison Girl an unusual composition for me.

The more I wear it the more I love it. Dark cherries and tonka with a mixture of florals and citrus. It’s like a fresh cherry reduction, not cherry from a jar or straight from the tree. It’s fresh but has been altered by sweetness and heat, simmered and has now cooled. I know I’ve already written a review but this cherry revelation has me wondering why I didn’t mention it before. I’ve recently been enjoying cherry notes and it makes me very happy to realize this is another unexpected rendition of it. Must be heliotrope and almond together with tonka playing delicious tricks on my nose since these are the kinds of notes I’ve seen paired together with cherry before. Final update: I love cherries in a quality fragrance and Poison Girl manages to allow the wearer to enjoy it in it’s delicious individual parts or as a whole fluffy, cherry-almond concoction. Still a love and a favorite.

I really enjoy Poison Girl. I did not pay much attention to the pyramid I just tested it, loved it, bought it.
Poison Girl is sweet in the beginning then becomes more tonka, vanilla, and sandalwood. There is an element of sophistication in this. I certainly would not consider this a Candy Girl frangrance; while I do enjoy sweet scents now and then.
The longevity is excellent. Well done.

If you’re in love with Poison Girl and want a cheap dupe, try “Marc Joseph Mine Girl”
It’s 99% similar, just a little less sweet in Dry down,it’s also longlasting and has a chic bottle.I bought a 3.4oz bottle of it for 25$
Unfortunately it’s not available in fragrantica’s database yet

To begin with, I adore the opening of poison girl with its warm citrusy notes. It adds a pleasant freshness to this gourmand scent. The dry down is a softer, sweeter and more diluted version of hypnotic poison. I get a lot of almond and tonka bean. At my humble age of 21 I found hypnotic poison to be a beautiful scent but slightly too heavy for me so this was the perfect, more wearable alternative. Longevity is up to 8 hours, heavy/moderate sillage the first 2 hours and after that it sits close my the body. All in all, I really love this!

I couldn’t wait to try it but when i did i was a little disappointed. I don’t say that i don’ t like it but i was waiting for something different. Something that would have the charm and the glamour of the other poison. It seems to me a bit ordinary like I have smelled it a thousand times before.

Being a floral and Dior lover, I bought this only to find it was a very sweet perfume, but in no way sickly-sweet.
The dry-down gives vanilla and almond aromas, so it is pleasant enough.
Would probably recommend for younger women, and would consider it best for day wear at any time of the year.

I liked it accept: there are so many Synthetics in this that im highly allergic to it. Its a serious Gourmand Scent. So i just can’t ware this. BUMMED.

Name aside, I wasn’t sure what to expect and it was love at first sniff for me. I bought a full bottle a week later, as i couldn’t part with the test strip-it just smelled so sweet and yummy and kinda dark too. But after I got the FB and started spraying joyfully it turned out I am allergic to something in it as I couldn’t stop sneezing. I thought maybe it is just me, so I kept trying for about 2 weeks and every time I sprayed I sneezed nearly non stop for about 2 min. Gutted! I ended up gifting my bottle to a friend who was lucky not to have the same reaction as me. I did really love it though and still sad that I can’t wear this one. Probably the only time I would say I am hoping for a reformulation that would allow me to enjoy it.

I thank fragrantica for leading me to Poison Girl. It never registered probably due to the Girl name and my jaded mentality towards new designer releases. I wrote it off before realizing I had done so.
A few months ago I was on a quest for a tonka heavy scent with the note of heliotrope. I was lead to this. The note pyramid was all I needed to see. I just knew it would be what I was hoping for. I hadn’t taken the time or thought to test in store before blindly buying online. OMG. Wow. Boy were my expectations surpassed. I get every note from the citrus to orange blossom and rose to the almond to the tonka, vanilla and sandalwood. I’ve never pinpointed tolu balsam in a fragrance before so I can’t speak on that one.
Poison Girl is utterly delicious, a tonka lover’s dream! It is so much more than a last ditch flanker, a fact that I couldn’t have been happier to be wrong about. Imagine the notes as they appear and that is how it smells, with the Dior stamp of quality and craftsmanship. Hypnotic Poison is good, but for me it was a bit too thick at times and I dont always jive with the root beer vibe I get from it. Finally! Poison Girl is a Poison I can call my favorite! Previously I would have said Hypnotic was my favorite, but even so that choice was based on how long I could tolerate the scent rather than truly loving it as something I can’t get enough of. I am totally committed to this fragrance, i just hope they don’t reformulate or discontinue tomorrow.

I was so happy to finally get a bottle of this perfume. It was a blind buy based on the notes, which are all elements I like in a fragrance and I’m not disappointed! Yes, we all know there are tons of gourmands running around out there, but the blending of notes and how much of each is used still makes enough difference to merit trying individual scents to see which suits you best.
This does remind me of YSL Black Opium, but I like this much better. It’s a more complex blend and feels somehow warmer, more inviting and sensual. While it’s definitely sweet, I don’t get a sickly sugary or candy-ish feeling from it at all. The addition of the almond reminds me just a bit of my beloved Champs-Elysees from Guerlain. It’s longevity and sillage are incredible – one or two sprays and I’m pretty much good all day/night. This one is definitely better than most of the ‘pink gourmands’ on the market and know I’ll be enjoying this for quite awhile 🙂

To me, this smells like a mixture of Black Opium and Alien eau Extraordinaire. I’m not sophisticated enough to pick apart what each note is that is reminiscent of the aforementioned fragrances, but what I’m left with is a slightly aquatic vibe infused with flowers.

I bought this perfume because I thought it will be a floral perfume but I got totally disappointed of thus one. This is just an overly sweet perfume frkm the beginning to the end. The only best thing about this one is the sweetness become ” bearable ” after 4 hours. Base note is not that bad

Not sure if I would get a full bottle myself , I’d need to try it on my skin but from the paper test I thought it was a really nice gourmand scent for what it’s worth, especially the citrus sweetness. Don’t expect it to be like original Poison though minus the ‘overwhelm’ factor of it, i guess.

On me this smells like Play-Doh. Takes me back to the spaghetti machine and the little yellow plastic knife. Those little thumb men who sprout hair. Im actually amazed how many childhood flashbacks this gives me! After a while it smells like a warm sexy adults play doh, the type of doh you’d take to play on a date.

Oh my god the sillage on this is ENORMOUS. That’s the first thing I think of with this one. My aunt applied some on the floor below me and I woke up to my entire room smelling like this perfume!
It’s also intensely sweet and spicy – “balsamic” as top voted makes sense. Not for me but I would like to try OG Poison sometime. Younger-oriented perfumes don’t generally tend to be my thing anyway.

Poison girl is an addictive scent, very cozy, delicious and POTENT! It’s like a love potion or something because of how madly it attracts men (women as well). It’s not really that kind of ‘sophisticated’ or elegant type of scent but more of a sexy, daring and intoxicating scent. It’s so warm, creamy and thick. Very good quality perfume, which is long lasting with excellent sillage. Poison girl is like a guilty pleasure.

  18. :

Very sharp and linear as usual from the poisons
This starts with a sweet burnt sugar smell which reminds me of a creamy cotton candy It takes a few minutes before it dries into the colorfull flowers of roses and juicy bitter orange This part is very romantic and feminine
It ends with warm sensual balsamic tolu balsem
Its quite sharp for daywear Its more suitable for night or winter from all the poisons this is the most girly romantic and playfull but still daring and mature at the same time
    nice confident and charming scent

Poison Girl was the game changer for me. The fragrance that made me fall, head over heels, in love with gourmand scents. I found this rather banal for the first year of it being in my collection. I had it, wore it occasionally and liked it well enough. I just wanted a citrus vanilla that I could wear without thinking too much about it. Now, after not only discovering that it lasts a full 28 hours on me before becoming undetectable, but also waiting until the actual dry down (13 hours after application for me), this becomes one of the most beautiful skin scents ever. The opening is brash, overly sweet and not for everybody. The next few hours are softly floral, vanillic and lightly citric. This is probably my second favourite stage, it shifts and moves around so often. Then, for the next 5 or six hours, it becomes much more creamy and the tonka bean becomes the main player. Finally, the musks… so lush, so soft, so well done.
I’m a man and I’ve been discovering myself liking a lot of these ‘pretty’ scents, along with what I originally would have described as ‘boring, though classy’. I’m completely flicking all of these switches, and I think Poison Girl might be the reason.

I love Dior perfumes especially Addict and Pure Poison. I liked the original in the 80’s but I was just a kid then. Fast forward to now and my mom was coming back from a vacation and asked if I wanted anything and I said this. I’m very grateful my mom got me this because I think this smells so good! As others have said as well that it stays on forever and had amazing sillage. With this scent I find less is more as this is very potent.
I love the rose in this I think that mixed with the almond, vanilla, sandalwood, and tonka is so good! This has that good Dior vanilla that I love so much and I look for it when im getting a Dior scent. This to me though the name is not one I would pick I think the perfume itself is awesome and smells divine. A little goes a long way and it lasts and lasts. Its one of my favorites.

  21. :

    5 out of 5

This is one of Dior’s mainline fragrances that doesn’t suffer poor longevity. There’s a high likelihood that if you want a good oriental gourmand that doesn’t get eaten by your skin, this could be it. It has lasted again and again on me: usually 20+ hours. Believe me, I have nothing to gain from making such a claim.
It also doesn’t help that I love this baby from beginning to end. It’s soft, never cloying, gentle, creamy and elegantly sexy. There is not a single bad thing to say about this fragrance. Even the price, compared to other brands and the way their fragrances last, this is pretty excellent.

  22. :

Holy moly, this stuff LASTS. I sadly find it harder and harder to discover new designer scents that last longer than 6 hours on my skin but this is definitely one of those that last longer than 12 hours. In fact, this has lasted over 18 hours on my skin and is still going. Quite strongly, I might add. Its dried down to the sweet vanilla and cashmeren woods with a small amount of rose and hyacinth. Its truly remarkable how beautiful this scent is once it hits its dry down. I don’t smell heliotrope, but I do get lots of sandalwood

Don’t know what is going on with all the dislikes, but I personally love this beauty very much. I like Hypnotic Poison EDP, but sometimes, I feel like I don’t wanna be all that “serious” wearing it. The licorice vibe from it, is not a scent for everyday to enjoy. Poison Girl EDT, after the first blast of light “spice”, just stays “sweet” and only “sweeter” on my skin because of the strong caramel note in it, and that was it. This Poison Girl EDP however, is just right for my taste in all regards. It is a nice and balanced combination between both, the spiciness and the sweetness, perfect for daily wear when it is not hot. It can be worn dressing up or down, so that is a plus. I enjoy it very much, the vanilla, tonka bean, almond, orange blossom and bitter orange. Those are the most dominant notes that stood out on my skin. Such a precious combination.
I haven’t seen any tester bottle of this one anywhere, but based on the notes and some detailed reviews on this page, I decided to blind buy it and I’m so glad that I did. Thank you guys for your opinions.

Hypnotic Poison was a rare instant love for me, but it turns into BO on my skin. Miss Dior is pretty on me, but not quite special enough. This edp reminds me of both in the best way. Miss Poison would have been a more accurate name. This was an amazing blind buy, since the edt lacks the almond I wanted, and I’ve never seen the edp in stores. Very rich and dark (tested in late Spring, though I will probably save it for Fall or nighttime).
There’s something about the cherry (almond) & rose combination that is lipsticky overall. (See Prada Candy Gloss and La Petite Robe Noire)

I didn’t test this on my skin, because the composition isn’t my cup of tea. But I will give my impression of the perfume from the card I sprayed it on.
I would disagree classing this perfume as an ‘oriental vanilla’, personally. A lot of the notes I see listed here were totally lost on me. To me, this perfume smelt like an absolute floral bomb. Very, very floral, but also really, really sweet. I do like a good floral (but I’m fussy), however, I found this perfume a tad overbearing, but at the same time, weirdly familiar.
When I say this smelt familiar, I mean that I’m fairly certain many times along the course of my life, I have smelt perfumes on girls my age painfully similar to this one. And a lot of that time, it couldn’t have been this one, because by perfume standards, Poison Girl is relatively new still. Poison Girl, I find, has a lot of perfumes out there that it smells very, very, very similar to.
As with most perfumes that I critique, I would like to add that it does have its merits. It’s by no means a bad perfume. It smells lovely, but I don’t find it to be a unique perfume. What it also has going for it is that it is STRONG. Really strong. You can smell it from a mile away. It deserves a lot of brownie points for that. The quality is there with this perfume.
If you like sweet, syrupy florals, I would recommend giving this one a try.

Such a nice comforting vanilla scent without being overly heavy.
The rose and the sandalwood, traditional notes that they are, still somehow manage to add quite some lightness and brightness to the scent.
On me I can’t really clearly detect any of the citrus notes, but I suspect that they also add to the bright and youthful character of a scent that else would probably be rather thick and sweet.
As it is I love it. I’ve worn this on some hot days as well as some cooler days by now and it fitted with both weathers equally well. I can still detect it on me easily after an entire day.
Favorite pick at the moment for going out to a nice restaurant or concert.

The original poison is my signature scent so I sprayed this on at the mall today and several hours later I find I really like this scent. It’s pretty soft when first sprayed on but the dry down is more intense. Syrupy, balsamic and powdery. I’m okay with that because I like the intense fragrances of the eighties.

  30. :

The opening & middle is OK enough… but the dry down became too balsamic too strong , reminds me of arabic scent.
on my skin there is nothing sexy about it.

I was reluctant about approaching this fragrance since it reminded me of Juicy Couture with the pink bottle and girly aspect to it. I finally gave it a chance and sprayed it on a piece of paper.
    WOW!!!!!
I am so impressed! If this fragrance would be a color it would be ruby red. Rich and classy, exactly what you’d expect from Dior. In my top 5 favorites I can’t stop sniffing it.

poison girl is one of those sexy fragrances that makes my knees weak when a girl wears it. Sweet and powdery. I will definitely buy this for my girlfrined.

It’s so strange, I have fallen in love all over again with this one.
I bought it months ago after falling for the EdT but finding the staying power way too weak. It quickly became my signature and I couldn’t get enough of it! Suddenly it made me feel sick sadly and I put it far back in my drawer and planned on giving it away. I’m so happy I didn’t! Just a couple of days ago I remembered I still had it and decided to give it a try. It’s so beautiful, I’m thinking of making it my signature again.
This is truly gourmand, it gives me a feeling in my throat when I smell it. I know it sounds weird, does anyone know what I’m talking about? It is very rich and creamy and of course very sweet. However the sweetness is balanced by the bitterness in my opinion. Strong notes on me are bitter orange, almonds and vanilla so very true to the pyramid on here.
It does share some similarities with Hypnotic Poison but this one feels a bit “younger” to me but I can totally see a middle aged woman rocking this just as well as a 20 something.
I find this to perform the best when I spray it at the back of my neck. It flows around nicely when I move my hair. My sister asked me what scent I was wearing and told me she really liked it. “It makes me want to hug you” she said which I thought was such a sweet compliment. Boyfriend REALLY seemed to like this one as well. I’ve been trying some new fragrances since i ran out of my beloved Hypnotic Poison which he really liked but he almost seemed to love this one more. He buried his face in my neck all the time and I think that’s a pretty good indicator 😉

Sweeter than Dior Poison. I don’t reach for it much as it is a little muskier than what I normally wear but I like it enough to have bought it and hopefully I will find a day to use it.

  38. :

Reminds me of ysl Mon Paris. Don’t know why I get that vibe. I don’t find it to be sweet, and I think it’s more of a mature scent. I’m not a big fan of this, but don’t hate it either. It smells like loads of others on the market, nothing special.

  39. :

I ended up buying a 30mL bottle of this hesitantly and tried it on, non sample, properly when out with friends. I genuinely enjoyed it. Loved it, even. I should have put it in my bag because someone ended up stealing it by the end of the night. I was understandably crushed. Later, I found myself craving it and ended up buying a 50mL bottle from a trusted discount online store and honestly don’t regret it a bit.
As a fragrance, it’s a pretty standard gourmand that doesn’t pull any tricks. It reminded me a little of Liberte or Cinema with it’s soft citrus and deep vanillin/tonka mix. but it also has some beautiful floral nuances that separate it a little from others. You won’t stand out, but you will smell fab. Sometimes that’s all I really want to do anyway.
Plus, the delicate spray is just wonderful. Feels really good when applying.

I’m a fragrance junky as most of you are. Therefore I own more perfume than I need, way too many bottles. This one makes me feel sexy.. I love to smell it on myself and in general. Longevity and sillage are very good. Bottle is cute. Not to be compared to Hypnotic Poison. That one is more mature and sophisticated. This one to me is more sexy and fun!

After dismissing this when it first came out, I sprayed a little on a Dior tester strip last week on a whim and then used the tester strip as a bookmark. While reading my book this last week, I couldn’t stop smelling it. It also made the pages smell divine. A week and a half later and it still smells strong on the tester strip, so I finally couldn’t resist and bought a 30ml bottle.
I’m a big fan of Hypnotic Poison and also own Pure Poison (which I have mixed feelings about but wear on occasion). This definitely has the same DNA as those two fragrances even if they do not smell similar at first sniff. I find Poison Girl to be a cousin of recent ironic designer fruity musky gourmands such as Lancome La Vie Est Belle and Tresor La Nuit, Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb and Bon Bon, YSL Black Opium and Givenchy Live Irresistible, which is not necessarily a bad thing if you enjoy sweet fragrances.
This begins with a burst of candied orange and almond. It almost smells like Disaronno or Amaratto. Eventually a sweet, sugar coated candied rose/rose water note takes over and merges with that almond and tonka to create a delicious, musky scent. It is quite long lasting (as the tester strip proved…it has outlived the new Miss Dior formulation by days) and a little goes a long way. I would say I like it and can see myself wearing it as a comfort scent on cold days, but I don’t quite love it. I do feel it has the same feel as those fragrances listed above, a few of which I own. It is not ground breaking or particularly original by any means, but it is a good representative of that designer fruity, musky gourmand genre which are clearly good sellers.
The dry-down also reminds me a little of the fantastic Traversee du Bosphore by L’artisan Parfumeur which is a gorgeous unisex almond, rose Turkish delight fragrance inspired by Istanbul. The opening of TDB is less sweet…apple tea with a little smokiness, but they both dry down quite similar and equally sweet.

Poison girl edt has been my signature for over a year now. I thought it couldn’t possibly get better. Wow was I wrong. I smelled the edp for the very first time today assuming it would smell the same only stronger. I wad so wrong. The edp smells other wordly. Rather than haveing the harsh soapy smell of the edt, the edp has the balsamic almond DNA of hypnotic poison. I’m gonna go crazy trying to mix my poison girl edt w my hypnotic poison as I try and emulate this goddess. Youre not a girl, youre a goddess.

Experience when tested once: heavily something, more pleasant than unpleasant. Sweet.
After few hours it’s a very sweet skin scent: Easter egg chocolate (containing vanilla).
It points the way along narrow stairs to upstairs, through gloss pics and smockings towards piles of laces & old rosa coloured powders 100 years back in time.
2nd test: those words “insanely sweet”, this starts to be it. Right after you put it on, it smells very sweet strawberry-icecream. Or was it strawberry-jam – maybe both. Luxurious, but so very sweet.

    Fragrance -Poison Girl Christian Dior
    Bottle from – 2016
This fragrance reminds me of a nice, funny and a bit crazy and wicked girls night out.Poison Girl opens with a burst of sweet, loud and strong bitter orange mingled with almond and vanilla with a wisper of romantic rose lurking at the edges.
During mid development, the main players are vanilla, almond and rose with a nice touch of warm and ambery tolu balsam and with a hint of misty heliotrope. This all leads into a moderatly sweet, creamy and powdery base with dominant almond, tonka and sandalwood with a hint of vanilla and rose and with a wisper of musky and ambery cashmeran.
Tolu balsam, cashmeran and heliotrope bring some wickedness in the sweet floral composition.
This is a playful, youthful, seductive and tempting fragrance and I kinda like him.
    Longevity – 8/10(8+ hours)
Silage/Projection – 8/10(heavy to moderate projection and silage for the first 2-3 hours)
Weather -best in early spring, autumn and winter.
    Versatility – 8/10

    Compliments – 8/10
    Scent – 8/10
Main notes according to me – almond, vanilla, tonka, orange, rose, cashmeran, heliotrope, balsams.
The drydown is a bit powdery, creamy and moderatly sweet and I get some almond, vanilla, tonka, sandalwood, cashmeran and rose.
Emotions -wicked girls night out, playful, youthful, funny, seductive, tempting, sexy.
Occasion -For more or less any ocasion, perfect for nights out.

I decided to give this another chance after admitting to myself that I had been prejudiced against it because I own two of the old school poisons (Pure and Hypnotic) and am very familiar with the smell of the other three (Original, Tendre, and Midnight) and I felt like something called “Poison Girl” with it’s swirly font and pandering-to-millenials-pink bottle and gag-worthy ad campaign was just really cheapening the whole line.
Now I’ve heard all the “But none of the other Poisons smell like each other so why would you expect Poison Girl to? whoop-de-woop” from the Poison Girl defenders and I’m gonna have to disagree. The same way Guerlain has it’s Guerlinade and even Juicy Couture has it’s ‘Viva la Juicy – except one ingredient is different this time-ade’ the Poisons do have some kind of DNA that unites them, and I DO feel that Poison Girl has it too. The obvious thing to point at would be the vanilla, but it’s a little bit more than that. I have no clue what the names of the chemicals are but they go beyond what we think of as just ‘notes.’
With all that out of the way (TL/DR – according to my reluctant nose Poison Girl is indeed a legitimate heir and not just some bastard baby) I’ll go ahead and review the scent.
It felt like orange flower candy to me. To the point where this could have just been called Candy Poison, except that that would have bit off too much from Prada Candy (Then again Guerlain Mon and YSL Mon co-exist in this world…)
Actually I didn’t hate it. If I didn’t own Bonbon, LVEB, Tresor Nuit, Candy L’eau or any of the other bajillons of candy scents I already own, I might even buy it. Honestly I kept sniffing my hand as I made my way through the mall, the other hand had Guerlain’s L’Instant Magic, but it was this one that I kept coming back to, to the point where some nosy woman was gawking at me and I had to point at my hand and say “Perfume!” in order to get her to mind her own business.
If I have to describe it in a few words: More expensive smelling than any of the Prada Candy’s. Light orange or orange flower scented hard candy. It develops and changes with time. First five minutes were more ORANGE! Then there was a shift to something more velvety, and then it kept shifting, even within the candy phase. So if you like the multi-phase perfumes, this is for you.

Sweet and warm bitter orange, roses, vanilla and tonka beans fragrance. As girlish as its bottle( And it reminds strawberry.

-The first Poison Girl edp is balmy, warm and rounded, comfy yummy scent. All about vanilla and almond.
-The second Poison Girl edt is sharply sweeter a bit colder, candy like and sugary. All about that frosted orange and caramel.
-The third Poison Girl Unexpected is jammy and juicy, even colder than the edt.I get more fruity floral tones here and I would say its all about blood orange and rose.
The edp is the closest to Hypnotic Poison edt, but softer and not dark and smoky.

If you want a warm, sweet, inoffensive-but still unique, vanilla then this is for you. It’s nothing like hypnotic poison (in the best way). It’s a crowd-pleaser. My husband, who likes no perfumes, loves this. Jeremy Fragrance says a lot of men he asks loves it too. It’s beautiful and feminine. Can’t wait to get a bottle for Valentines Day.

Plastic vanilla with breezes of licorice and candy apple. Gorgeous when dried on skin. What I interpret as licorice is probably the almond, and the tonka adds a distinctive powder texture to the vanilla. Girl reminds me of a gourmand version of Lipstick On (when I stretch my imagination), and is surprisingly soft for a Poison flanker. This isn’t the rootbeer bomb Hypnotic is, nor is it the 80s powerhouse the original is. It’s very pretty, soft, and sweet. It’s best suited for people who want a subtle gourmand in their collection. It isn’t a mainstream concept of gourmand, either. It strikes me as more niche in feel given its strange interplay in textures, so that may be why the usual gourmand crowd is sometimes disappointed by this offering. I think it’s worth testing if you want something different.

Poison Girl to me is nice and pleasant but cannot associate the smell with the original Poison line. As a separate scent by itself, it’s pretty, rose vanilla almond notes come on stronger than others to me. It’s citrusy at first and then on me it settles into a vanilla floral scent that is a bit almond sweet. But I have tried this on someone else and on them it’s just sickly sweet. The floral notes haven’t come out on their skin at all as it did on mine. So it might turn out different from person to person depending on their skin chemistry. If anyone is planning to buy then I suggest try beforehand, not a safe blind buy. I don’t understand the name Poison Girl as it’s not as juvenile as it sounds from the name, may be Dior could have named it something else entirely. Stays long enough and good sillage. The EDT version is much sweeter and a bit different than this EDP, I prefer this one as I don’t like my perfumes too sweet. Yes, quite similar to Black Opium, on me PG is tad more floral than BO which has the coffee note, that’s about the only difference I could think of.

I finally understand what so many people mean by the infamous “PLAY-DOH” scent. I’m probably going to be exiled for this comment, but this perfüme is awful.I thought because I like almond notes in Lalique: Flora Bella, BVLGARI;Jasmin Noir, Sergé Lutens Datura Noir, Geurlain Petite Robe, and Datura Blanche… I just assumed I’d love this. But, No.
INMHO It’s not a mature, or sophisticated scent. It really smells bitter at first then fades into a Play-Doh scent. For a Dior Fragrance it smells cheap.
I’m really Sorry.I did want to like this and Hypnotic Poison. But, Unfortunately, niether one is for me.

The first time I smelled this perfume I absolutely loved it. Fruity fresh citrus orangey notes so yummy.
I usually don’t like the classic perfume smells I prefer notes that aim a younger, more popular audience in general BUT I like something refined not cheap smelling and you really get this simple sweet
