This smell is so nice, fresh and clean. I had it on for the first time from a sample and my girl was sniffing on my neck and said, what are you wearing? it smells really good. Than i told her what it was, so i knew i had to get me a bottle.
Sillage and Projection are excellent as well.
Made this my Signature scent 9/10

A fruity remix of the Green Irish Tweed theme. Smells cheap, clean and fresh. Excellent for a walk with the dog in a hot summer morning.

Fresh, floral and light aromatic citrus perfume.
It has been my signature spring perfume for years.
Some might think it is generic but I would argue that it is just simple and uncomplicated. In fact, it is quite unique that way. Why complicate things when you can keep them simple?

I saw this on the hubby’s side of the vanity & figured, why not ?
It started with peppery ozone fabreeze. I regretted my decision instantly, but felt I should ride it out. The ozone stayed with me, and the pepper mellowed, and the fabreeze went away. It becomes very aquatic on me, with coriander & nectarine & geranium dancing together barefoot on the seashore. That lasted for, I guess about 40 minutes? Then I noticed an under note of something that smells like new shoe leather to me (as leather notes never smell like leather on me, this is def. something else). Oh, and there’s the ginger!
After a while, I guess the ozone died down and it started turning into a spice/floral blend. There’s still something aquatic about it though. Geranium/ginger/pepper/coriander over sandalwood. But, It reminds me a little of when I hand mix spices for special dinners.
It rides out the rest of the night being spicy, and slightly aquatic floral (I guess “fresh” in this case translated to aquatic on me).
That geranium & ginger though. I swear it lasts to the very end on me. This was an unexpectedly wild ride. I like! I may do this again.

I love this fragrance on men and I’ve also enjoyed wearing it myself though it’s been a while. The bottle I had was from the 90’s so I’m hoping it hasn’t changed like the women’s one has 🙁
I prefer Pleasure’s for Men to Pleasure’s for women’s on me and I agree with Crystals On My Converse that this is definitely a unisex(y) fragrance!

Nice cool breeze scent for a sporty kind of guy. To the woman that says she loves to wear this “masculine” cologne, please note, what makes a masculine cologne is not just the composition of the fragrance, but also the wearer himself. Shoot me now but woman are not masculine … no matter how much they may pretend to be. Masculine colognes like Pleasures For Men work best on a masculine personality, albeit a male.

A nice, good-natured, all-American and wholesome Mid-Western suburban dad kind of scent, and there is nothing wrong with that. To me, this brings to mind a “hot dad,” an athletically-inclined man who likes to throw a football around with the guys or his sons on the weekends, at their backyard BBQ.
I get a modern, aromatic woodsy-green blend with a hint of floral. It’s masculine but isn’t try-hard or harsh. There’s no cliche or pretentiousness here, and it will not smell dated. There aren’t specific notes for me to point out, because it is pleasant in a synthetic way like “Pleasures” for women. In fact, I’d go as far as saying that if perfumes had personalities, someone who enjoys “Pleasures” would probably get along with someone who wears “Pleasures for Men,” and vice-versa, because the two scents are so complementary.

Fresh, clean, fruity and slightly woody. Just a fantastic day time scent. It’s been around for quite some time and still smells wonderful. If you like GIT, Cool Water or even Wings and Aspen, you will love Pleasures!

  9. :

    3 out of 5

Nice scent that is very close to Wings for Men and Cool Water – Pleasures just turns to being more fruity and less sweet while Wings keeps its sweetish flowery notes for most of the time

  10. :

    3 out of 5

    A greener Irish Tweed ?
No, seriously this may not have that much to do with GIT as the ambergris base is not present, but it certainly has quite some similarities to the million-bottle-selling Cool Water by Davidoff (the vintage version that is), including the aquatic notes, a hint of musk and a bit of calone. Overall it’s synthetic but fresh, floral and fruity. I find it really hard to make out the different notes in this scent, but why there is no violet leaf listed in the note pyramid is beyond my understanding.
Longevity is actually surprisingly good and sillage is acceptable, I find it a nice casual wear for spring or even summer.

I find it banal and not great as I wanted. I’m sorry because I had high hopes of this fragrance.

  12. :

    5 out of 5

As a woman who likes to wear masculine scents this one I would definitely class as unisex! It is quit woody with a slight spice to it so could eaily be worn all year round and by any age group!
I also detect a slight hint of the 90s in this 🙂

  13. :

How to describe Estee Lauder Pleasures for Men…well, it’s sweet, aromatic and has some floral tones. To be honest, I detect no discernible notes to my scent pallet – just the accords I previously mentioned. Moreover, there are some things I like about this fragrance and some things I don’t.
I didn’t like the opening. I found it to be overly sweet and, to me, the scent struck me as being way too feminine for my tastes. However, this stage lasted only a few minutes as the woody tones pushed forward to join the aromatic elements. It was certainly a pleasant enough scent, but too sweet for me.
Also, Pleasures has a fair-amount of that department store baloney-cologney DNA…people pleasing, but frag heads will find it a bit generic. Overall, this fragrance isn’t for me but it is not a bad scent at all.

    Sweet, sweet and sweet..
Delicious scent. I preferred wearing alot in the Fall and Winter. In the Summer it was overpowering in a sweet kind of way.

  15. :

After blind-buying and testing on my skin: Definitely a long-lasting fruity and woodsy cologne. Very 90s in style, but nothing that would be too out of place nowadays. Has a more formal scent than I had anticipated, more of a work fragrance but still very versatile. The nectarine is very strong in the opening notes, but soon fades to a soapy scent that is very pleasant. In short, nothing special, but nice nonetheless.

A faboulus flower and clean scent for men.

This fragrance has a light sillage and above average longevity. All i really got out of it was a light fresh powdery scent which isnt a bad thing but is becomming more and more boring as I run into new scents and my nose develops.

  18. :

    4 out of 5

Starts very good but it ends up smelling too generic. Not bad for it’s price. Decent sillage. 7/10

No note breakdown on this one, none needed in my opinion. This colognes is about the feeling it evokes. Class, subtlety, elegance, timeless, soothing, quiet confidence. This is just a flawless spring and summer scent, one that lasts a long time and is inoffensive.
The ad that ran many years ago was a man relaxing on a hammock in his backyard, and I think it was a perfect image of what this fragrance represents. You are a man who has accomplished a lot, Wife, children, a home and the means to provide for it all. You are relaxing, for a moment, in your backyard on a beautiful day, fathers days perhaps, and you are taking it all in. You are happy, at peace, you are comfortable in your own skin and a smile purses your lips as you relect on how happy you are. Not long after one of your children hops onto your lap to lay on your chest, your wife leans over and gives you a soft kiss, and you all share in the moment together. The sun is warm, yet you are in the shade with a nice gentle breeze waltzing its way through your yard and your senses.
I could go on, but you can gather what I am saying. A fragrance for anyone but I truly feel this shines on a bit more mature man (although I wore it well before i had a family, career, etc) Truly an amazing fragrance, so simple yet captures the heart of what a great fragrance can do, much like a great wine.

This is a rare fragrance that I really enjoy for work due to its elegance and subtlety. The floral dry-down is far better than the opening, which is still pleasant enough.
As a boy, I originally smelled this in one of my mom’s fashion magazines and secretly kept the strip. 15 years later, I stumbled upon it at a dealer’s venue visiting my school. It’s still very well suited for formal occasions, but I would not recommend it for general, casual wear.
Imagine: Enjoying a splendid meal at an elegant french restaurant with your spouse. The evening is young and you’re in your finest attire, feeling relaxed and confident. The conversation turns to your thoughts on passion and maintaining balance in life. Her eyes are full of respect and longing. You reach your hand across the table and grasp hers gently, reaffirming your supportive presence.
Think: Soft, Elegant, Floral, Balanced, Fresh
    Overall: 8/10 – for ages 20+

Im a girl and I would wear this 🙂

  22. :

    4 out of 5

What can I say, it’s fresh/warm and spicey goodness. This was for a long time my signature scent. Heck, I’ve been wearing this one since high school, nearly 18 years ago! The scent will always take me back, and for that I love it. It’s given me more compliments over the years than I could even pretend to recall, and I’ve been through numerous bottles. I’ll continue to buy this one as long as it’s sold. No one ever, in the nearly 20yrs of wearing this has ever had anything bad to say about it. Literally, every girl I have ever been around has liked it (all ex’s and my now wife included). This is probably one of the safest buys in the men’s cologne game. If you just want a rock solid workhorse, this is it.

  23. :

    4 out of 5

Fresh, fruity fougere very pleasant and simple, also very clean with a feel good vibe. It reminds Cool Water but it isn’t as great or innovative. The drydown gets more of the sandalwood and wood-musks approach remaining fresh and friendly. I don’t see it as blunt and if someone wishes for simplicity and elegance it can not simply go wrong with this one. My only problem is that it isn’t as great as other Lauder’s perfumes marketed to men and it could have been much better and sophisticated if it didn’t have to comply with all the fresh masculine stereotypes of the 90’s. Very decent and pleasurable (as the name implies) I wear it once in while when I want to relax my feet on the beach and drink a Sea Breeze all afternoon.

  24. :

    4 out of 5

It is reminiscent of a green version of Cool Water with a bit of Good Life mixed in. When I first encountered it, it didn’t particularly fuss me, but it has grown on my over the years to a point where I really quite like it. Perhaps it is an age thing as Pleasures is a quite reserved scent that doesn’t scream out for attention, which suits me now that I am older. It is definitely more citrus aromatic than anything else but while it has real staying power, it never overwhelms. Definitely one for all seasons and anytime of day.

  25. :

    3 out of 5

It smells very clean, but you don’t need to spend about 30 dollar to smell like it. You can just go wash your hand with a bar of soap. It smells identical to some soap out there. Doesn’t mean it’s a cheap smelling, but know what you are buying.

  26. :

    3 out of 5

VILE. Reminds me a lot of Cool Water. It’s generic and reminds me of something you get for an unwantted Christmas present from your granny. Smells like a teenage boys bedroom.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

Refreshing and generic, from the family of Cool water, ideal for practicing sports.

  28. :

    3 out of 5

Light but good quality cologne that smells like Chrome + Cool Water + extra sandalwood + extra florals. I wish it wasn’t so floral in the dry down, but overall I like it.

I must admit i’ve fallen back in love with this, i’ve ignored all things Estee Lauder for over ten years, but gave it a go and picked up a 100ml.
I find some of the notes difficult to pick out, with the exception of the gloriously chemically grapefruit, which is stunning. It’s quite soapy, and lasts/projects very well. It stands out, not like anything else i know. I think i’ll keep it for the Summer, perfect for hot summer evenings 🙂

Strange. Tester strip sample. First half hour got an animalic urea smell that was unpleasant. Then lo and behold some bitter green citrus that brought up that Green Irish Tweed smell. Funny, since there isn’t a lot of crossover in the ‘notes’ for these two. But of course I’m right…

Lovely scent. It’s a warm scent for tropical places.

i have this and i love it! it’s soothing to the nose with that sort of toothpaste like smell that doesn’t come offensive… it doesn’t project like crazy which is sad but this is comforting to wear personally as you can smell whiffs of yourself…

I got to smell this yesterday and was shocked. This is nice! There is a summery …light…. Happy feel with this. It doesnt smell cheap or over produced. It doesnt even have a familiar vibe either that screams everyone wears it. I would buy this one for sure.

  34. :

    3 out of 5

This one surprised me. The opening was definitely not my cup of tea, sharp and as everyone says synthetic, I think I even said yuck. However in about 15-30mins it starts to turn into a fresh clean uplifting scent that I ended up really liking! It’s sexy! The ginger in it is great, it’s both fresh and warm at the same time. And it has a fresh spicy aquatic thing going on that I really enjoy. Just make sure you apply this one at least 15 mins before you head out and it lasts longer on clothes.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

The citrus top notes started out with some promise, but it quickly turned into that nasty synthetic blandness I have smelled too often elsewhere.
    Scrubber.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

Straightforward and bland but nevertheless good perfume from estee lauder!
I don’t get any rose or nectarine… For me it’s all about ginger, grapefruit and spices… Not bad but not new or different! Tested on my skin, it’s sillage is weak and 3 to 4 hours longevity.
    Overall: 6/10

  37. :

Pleasures taught me how yukky synthetic scents could be. a surprisingly instant headache that I still remember after more than a decade.

Absolutely my favorite cologne! Have worn it for 15 years (?). I have a multitude of colognes that are worn but none as much as this one. I also am always told I smell good when I wear Pleasures and am asked what it is. The best of the best – can’t imagine a finer fragrance. I feel sorry for people who can’t smell the wonderful layers this cologne has. It’s clean, fresh, sexy, and lives up to its namesake!

  39. :

Funny name – pleasures for man, what kind of pleasures are these?

  40. :

    5 out of 5

This is a good quality floral for any man who can and will wear floral (and more men should!). Unfortunately, for my personal taste, the aquatic note would have to go. The cologne certainly wouldn’t suffer from its exclusion. (It’s a gender myth that the aquatic scent is masculine, btw. Just an association built by marketing strategies.) I don’t love it, so I wouldn’t purchase it for any man in my life, although I do respect that it’s a good quality cologne and I certainly wouldn’t hold it against any man for wearing it around me!

  41. :

    5 out of 5

This is a great one, perhaps my favorite. Simple, clean, elegant and light. I have been wearing it off and on since 1998, although I have never let my supply run out.
I mostly love this one because it is subtle, my preferred cologne to wear casually. Family gatherings, kids baseball or soccer games etc. Not a soul will be put off when you wear it. At least that’s what I have found after fifteen years of wearing Pleasures. The most important thing is I just feel happy when I’m wearing it. Pleasurable? Definately.

  42. :

i dont know but the only thing i smell in this perfumes is an earthy-sand smell really disguisting it gets my a headacht when i smell this perfumes one of the worst perfumes in my opinion

  43. :

    3 out of 5

Simply put: very fresh, very clean.
After applying I smell and feel like I just stepped out of the shower on a crisp summer’s day.
Edit: on me the oakmoss really comes out in the drydown which to me feels kind of “dirty” which kind of negates the fresh and clean opening for me.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

this fragrance is waaay to powdery for methe first and second notes are extremely powdery to the point is kinda smells feminit. not my smell..
Update: after maturing my nose a bit for som years I’ve grown to appreciate this fragrance ‘s complexity. Yes I do stand by what I said with the initial blast being powdery but the dry down leave a ver mascul sophisticated smell not suit and tie sophisticated but causal and and a nice day out scent

  45. :

    4 out of 5

smells good but poor Longevity it’s about 3-4 hours or 5 but not more than that
    (it smells more like orange)

  46. :

Pleasures is SOOO underrated its a crying shame. Where im from they dont even carry this in the Dillards or Belk which makes me sick cause they only carry whats “popular” Pleasures is exactly what it is. This frag gives pleasure with its floral and herbal vibes that drives women wild. Pleasures is a must keep and a must buy

  47. :

    5 out of 5

I would say it smells more like an aromatic fougere than an aromatic spice. Quite similar to eternity, although softer and not as sour. Very common scent. I do not see anything special about it.

  48. :

    4 out of 5

I do not care for this fragrance. My husband has several bottles of it that he has been gifted by relatives over the past few years and I wish he’d give them away. It’s a very light scent, rather feminine to my nose, but also with an acrid smell. Someone described it as “synthetic” smelling, and I agree with that assessment. I like spicy and “earthy” scents on men–this one just doesn’t smell sexy or manly to me at all.

  49. :

    5 out of 5

I also post a lot of perfume reviews on basenotes.net, and it’s amazing how different the opinions are of this fragrance between the two websites! If you read the basenotes.net reviews, you’d think Pleasures For Men is a bottle of fruity piss!
I don’t care if this is light and generic – I really like this scent! My wife bought me a small bottle of this, and when I sprayed it on paper, it smelled awful. However, when I wore it for a day, it was a totally different experience.
I will admit that Pleasures For Men smells dated – like a typical 1990s sporty/fresh/Cool Water clone. There were a TON of other frags during that time that smelled like this (Eternity For Men, Polo Sport, Wings For Men, etc., etc.). But goddamnit, this one puts a smile on my face when I wear it. It does the whole fresh & spicy thing so well, in such a well balanced manner, I can’t help but like it.
Sometimes you don’t want to smell dashing or unique or refined. Sometimes you just want to smell GOOD, plain and simple. Pleasures For Men is for those times.
    MY RATING: 7.5/10

  50. :

    3 out of 5

This is another “signature” for me. This is an uncomplicated, masculine, and energizing scent. Powerful, but not overwhelming up front, with vibrant, bitter, citrus notes (grapefruit is most prominent). This leads to middle notes of white pepper and rose/geranium florals which give it a clean, soap/shower aroma. The dry down is mild sandalwood, oakmoss(which retains a slight earthiness), and orange blossom. Perfect amount of sillage and as is the case with most Lauder fragrances: excellent longevity. Highly recommended for daytime wear all year or summer day or night.

  51. :

    5 out of 5

this is a fabulous summer fragrance – and as it’s summer here in australia i am giving my bottle a good workout. i love the fresh, ‘sexy man straight out of the shower’ smell i’m enveloped in upon first spritz. the dry down is equally as lovely – as the vanilla comes through and settles the floral notes down. i find it travels perfectly from day to evening. this is truly a classic, i think. i can’t believe i’ve it’s taken me so long to see it!
i don’t see the similiarities between it and coolwater, though. this is in a league of it’s own.

  52. :

    4 out of 5

Pleasures for men is an aromatic fruity which is a very good choice for summer. The nectarine note is a killer. Like all Lauder fragrances this one also has a synthetic feel but the uniqueness of the scent is well worth it I say. Pleasures has good sillage and longevity and is unlike the aquatics (like Acqua di Gio, AqVa etc). It has the charm and energy of a 22 year old man, who is dying to try his pick-up tricks on ladies coming summer. When I smell Pleasures for men it conjures up images of a young man who is waiting for the summer to unleash his primal energy to attract women. Pleasures for men is a sexy cologne.

  53. :

    3 out of 5

mmmmmm, classic sexy scent for men, probably the first man’s cologne that I smelled that made me realize I love men’s cologne (on men of course, hahaha!)! A lot of the men in my family wore this when I was growing up and it’s just that smell that makes me think of cologne and what a nice smelling man smells like! I really love it, can’t go wrong with this guys! : )

  54. :

Agree with alfarom. Pleasures for Men is a BOOOOOOORING cologne. I don’t like it. It’s a generic lavender + geranium + a few smoky.
    1/5

  55. :

    4 out of 5

Very nice scent here, but it did not last long AT ALL. I would easily purchase again if there was some certainty of the scent lasting for a while.

  56. :

    5 out of 5

Pleasures for Men smells exactly like any another generic Cool Water clone, or if you prefer like a cheaper (a lot cheaper) version of Creed’s Erolfa. Should be better named as “Pleasures For Nobody”.
PFM actually smells ok but it moves in a very crowded territory and it’s completely undistinguishable from other billions of perfumes of the same cathegory / family.

Well, folks…this is the first year that the EL counter did NOT have the four piece mens giftsets (much to my chagrin)for Christmas; so I got samples of all the ones I wanted to try…
Pleasures for Men is really nice. If Intuition for men is spring into summer, this is summer into fall/winter. This opens with a lovely fruitiness that is so balanced by the tart grapefruit and the succulent nectarine, and the greens are just great along with the “sky air” accord (aldehydes/ozone?). The pepper is evident from the first spritz but is not sneeze-inducing or too too spicy, the heart is dominated by dry florals (lavender and geranium) and the subtle rose is so elegant-like a boutaineer in a man’s tuxedo lapel. The herbs and a warm (not too juicy) ginger bring the whole thing to life and keep it lively, without overpowering the clean flowers. The drydown is where it gets even more autumnal: soapy creamy sandalwood, rich cinna-vanillic benzoin and oakmoss bring to mind changing leaves and sunny (but shorter) days. This has something very cool and refined in it. It gives one an air of being fashionable and looking and feeling “smart” or sharp…
    Sillage: okay
    Longevity: good
    Overall: 3.75/5
PFM is something I would wear to work, or with a casual dress outfit. It is equally appropriate for a date or family outing/gathering. I find it very appealing and think most others would as well. Here, and other sites that I have read reviews of this on, the only negative feedback or complaint has been the longevity. On me, it does just fine in that department; but after about an hour, I cannot smell it…but others notice it! There is something in this that does remind one of Cool Water, but only in the drydown, and even then it is more airy than aquatic…

  58. :

Sampled this at the EL counter and decided on Beyond Paradise instead. They had this, Intuition and BP for men (no Lauder-I really wanted to try that one)and BPfM stood out the most to me although this one is quite nice…
The unique fruity accord blends well with the greens for a sweet fresh approach. The heart is an a blend of very manly florals and smooth spices and, what I guess from the tester notes is, the SKY AIR(?) accord. This finishes warm, green and woody. Pleasurable? Indeed…
I will be buying one of the four piece gift sets at Christmas time (a little holiday love for myself) that contain all four EL Men’s scents bottled in 1/2 oz sprays. At that time I will give a better review of this, as sillage can be judged when testing something in the store, but longevity and overall appeal cannot…

I stumbled across this one a decade after it was introduced and have been trying to make up for it ever since. I always toyed with the idea of wearing Pleasures for Women, but who cares about that now when you meet this stunner!
It’s a clean, intriguing, masculine floral–not an overpowering floral, but a floral that is icy, almost wintry even. Staying power is excellent (over 15 hours on me), and it possesses just enough sillage to have people walk by you again to ask what it is you’re wearing.
Reminds me of the color silver, for some reason, so its attractive bottle and packaging (to me, at least) are an artistic triumph.
Although very versatile–it can be worn casually or elegantly–I enjoy wearing Pleasures most when I’m suited up.

This is a very romantic scent on my fiancé. It smells uniquely floral on him for a mens fragrance, yet incredibly sexy. I never smell it on other men. Why is that? It’s such a unique scent. So free spirited, in a non-aquatic sort of way. Very, very sexy. If you have a chemistry that is even remotely agreeable with Aromatics, you must try this scent. It is the only Aromatic in his collection (where he normally wears woody orientals) and it’s an absolute winner.

Pleasures for men reminds me of Le Roy Soleil by Salvador Dali, although they have no common single notes 🙂
    It’s more citrus-aromatic than aromatic-spicy for me.
There is a new note in this fragrance – a grapefruit-nectarine accord, which was created especially fro Estee Lauder.
There is also a note given the name SKY AIR by the producer, composed from the notes of air, among the others.
I think this scent is for men that look for harmony.
