Description

Top notes offer luminous and sparkling zest of Sicilian orange, accompanied with exotic ylang ylang and cotton blossom. A heart is intoxicating and floral, composed of white Grasse rose, wild violet and Indian patchouli, while a base closes with Lebanese cedar, Siamese benzoin and tonka beans. Pauline offers icy cold and warm notes in the same time, and they present the perfect balance on the skin and enrich it with top notch floral essences used for the purpose of creating this shiny composition.

The fragrance is available in the same elegant flacon as the previous versions for women – Eugenie, Josephine, Helene, and Laetitia. Neck of the bottle is decorated with bluish-violet and white ribbon, while the outer carton is embellished with coat of arms found on the tag of the fragrance with golden details. This romantic and very feminine fragrance will be a favorite to women who enjoy the breath of aristocracy in the contemporary world.

Rance 1795 Pauline assortment: 50ml edp spray and 100ml edp spray. Pauline was launched in 2011.

Pauline open with sweet green grass and sharp citrus or orange. In the dry down it smell like Balenciaga L`Essence. (sweet powdery violet)

To me, this perfume is a perfectly darling violet scent. It’s powdery and sweet, but not overbearinly so. The orange at the first spritz mellows fairly quickly on my skin and gives way to a lovely violet. There is definitely something green in there too, perhaps the violet leaves as well?
The scent mellows down with the violet och left is soft tonka with a powdery texture.
On my skin the basenotes stick around for the whole day, but since I love the violet-note I usually spritz twice in a day to keep the violet going all day.
ps. it also smells VERY differently depending on where I wear it: on my wrists it’s much less sharp (practically no green) while when I tried it on my arm it was much sharper and less mellow/sweet.

I love violets – in various editions and different interpretations. However, the scent was a big disappointment for me. There is no character (so noticeable and strong in Violette Precieuse from Caron) and no sophisticated delicacy (as in Artemisia Penhaligon`s). Naively, I thought I could find a successor of discontinued Caron. Its longevity is also very poor.
