I like the smell of this cologne. It’s light and clean. I have to put it on several times to get it to last all day, though.

I have about 40 or so scents in my current collection. In my lifetime I have probably gone through about 90 fragrances or so. For most of them, if I was initially indifferent to them or even disliked them, I grew to enjoy them.
However with A.S.Paradise, it has been the opposite. I purchased about 10 years ago and initially enjoyed it. Now, it is probably my least favorite fragrance & seems too sweet/cloying.
If you want a wonderful “Paradise” fragrance, try “Beyond Paradise” for men. Although I don’t praise it to the extent that Luca Turin does, it is very good and very distinctive, although somewhat androgynous.
That is paramount for me: a fragrance’s distinctiveness.

While this is a very nice smelling summer fragrance, many of the reviews are completely correct in saying there are serious longevity issues. Probably like 1 hour of some moderate projection and then it goes to a skin scent. It’s gone before you know it. It’s a very good summer scent and can be picked up at a bargain… if you can deal with the performance issues.

This could have been the summer scent of the century…IF it smelled longer than a nanosecond. It might be in the top weakest scents I’ve smelled in my life! :O
But, it’s(now) pennies a bottle, and yes, it does smell nice…but a zillion sprays isn’t enough! Literally. Once covered by front and back from head to toe en route to a legal matter…and by the time I got there, no smell, no nothing).

Very nice.but, nothing significantly different except for the fact that papaya and rosemary are blended very well in this fragrance. That makes it unique in its own right what’s not different is the aquatic and citrusy vibe that this fragrance provide but with that being said.this fragrance definitely something to have for the summer to go to the beach or just a casual Day Out,very nice..

Was an online blind buy out of curiosity. Doesn’t work with my nose, smells like pine sol or some kind of lemon cleaner. It’s still very clean and fresh smelling for sure, just more like walking into a freshly cleaned kitchen. Still have the bottle because it’s a cool design and the scent is interesting. Won’t be wearing it anytime soon but I still pick it up and sniff the bottle.

Great Spring and Summer fragrance. I only wish it had a little more longevity (4-5hrs on me), but for the price you can freely re-apply.

Nice little scent here. I wore this to my college classes in the early 2000’s. It smelled very nice, and fortunately my classes only lasted 50 minutes, or 1 hour and 15 minutes, and that’s about the longevity of this juice. Nice scent, but probably in the top 10 designer fragrances with the shortest longevity.

This is my daily-go to work fragrance. Doesn’t last and it’s light. It won’t make you stand out and you probably won’t get any compliment, but that’s fine with me. Otherwise I would wear something more ‘ extreme’ to work.
Starts with citrus notes, then a papaya-ish sort of notes, not fleshy just sort of dry ( I know, doesn’t make any sense).
Even before you finish spelling PARADISE, this fragrance turns quickly into a skin scent. The middle and drydown are a common blend of sandalwood, patchouli, cardamom and musk.
It was very affordable, the bottle looks modern, the green is eye catching. So why not?
At least I don’t regret it like some of the Montale or Amouage I own, which cost me a little more than this little ( and short lived) piece of Paradise.

Hated it. Smelled like…. pickles. Not in the good way Le Male smelled of rootbeer

LOVE LOVE LOVE it and will be buying again out of all the cheap fragrances this is the best non offensive scent. Just smells clean like an after shave. Not all that cloying cool watery Mandarin orangey citrus that’s in alot of cheap cologne just a nice green clean herbal scent. I love it!!!
Update: Mann i absolutely love this. this just works on my skin. U have to give fragrances time before u review because you will notice things down the line. I was starting to notice a papaya smell and well well well what do u know? papaya was a main note. After it dries down it is a very clean Woody soapy after shave foam note. A classic men’s clean. My skin loves these types of scents. Then again, my skin also loves Paris Hilton Heir for men, a cologne that got a lot of dislikes lol. Oh well, it suits me! I can’t do those stuffy syrupy dizzy colognes like LeMale etc.

I just got mine today on a blind buy, going off of what people have said and sprayed a test to my hand about 2 hours ago and this is still going.
If you are into the green, fresh scents, this one will definitely be a good one for you.
I put it in line of Green Irish Tweed, not a copy but just in that family of green freshness.
A daytime fragrance… not something you’d expect for the night.
And go for the Spring time ( summer wouldn’t be bad but the smell gives that Ireland/Scotland Green grass image when smelling it )

Green… a bit dry…. not juicy citrus in… SOAPY… could be more sweet to become modern one… ofc it’s fresh… but it’s not that rain forest freshnes… it’s more cleen bath freshnes… so as a refresher YES.. as a sensual cologne NO to become real paradise.. would have to contain more AMBER.. more tropical scents… and more oriental depth in base

I just realized that I have not commented on this one yet. It’s been in my collection for about 3 months. I really, really like this fragrance. It is fresh. It is zesty. It is an absolute steal at it’s price point. I think I picked up my bottle at T.J. Maxx for like $15. This one is a safe buy. You’ll find times when it is absolutely perfect to spray this on. For me one of those times is right after late night showers before I head to bed. It takes the clean smell from the shower and takes it to another level.
My wife even likes this one and that’s saying a lot. I have put some heavy hitters in my collection under her nose and I get “meh.” So for her to say “that’s nice,” I know I have something I should keep around. Of course I’m talking about Paradise. Oh and my wife too.
The only negative for me is what Tussa pointed out. The cap is a pain in the butt to get off because it is wide and you have to have a grip on both sides to pop it off.

Based on reviews, it was a blind buy for my brother. Really underrate perfume. It is fresh and spicy at the same moment with citrus tones, i really like it, even more due to its price! Only minus is the cap, a bit unpractical, hard to open.

    Blind Buy at T.J. Mish-Mosh. $12.99
My first Alfred Sung (as if that’s a big deal? LOL.)
I knew the brand was a bit “stuffy” and “grandaddy” but I took a chance as I loved the olive green package (and the olive colored juice in the bottle) .
This is a cool bold “green” frag that works well.
Think of this as an “intense” after-shave perhaps.
Nice price & nice bottle but did anyone have issues with the cap being hard / awkward to get off?
Longevity seems only “fair”….. no big deal at $12.99 .
The dry-down is not nearly as “cool” at the opening.

I bling bought this years ago and I absolutely love it, it is citrusy and spicy to me. In a way, it is similar to Perry Ellis 360 Red but definately unique with less spice and more warmth.

Solid reliable summer fragrance with a nice spicy + marine accord. Due to the aromatic/spicy notes. I see this as a versatile all seasons fragrance. Therefore, good value for your money .Go for it.

This is hands down one of my all time favorite scents. It’s juicy, and fruity and simply intoxicating. The thing that killed it for me was the longevity. It is probably one of the worst EDTs for longevity and sillage ever made. And, it really doesn’t matter how much you apply or if you use the compatible after shave and/or bath soap on a rope. It just will not last longer than an hour or so. If it had even average longevity, it would be my signature scent. Bar none.
THIS is something that would benefit Immensely from a EDP revision, but realize this late in the game it’s just a pipe dream.

    1980’s KFC wet-nap. I LOVE IT!
This one is for personal use only. I wear it around the house and sometimes use it for quick trips to the shops. In summer its a not bad office scent too.
It’s not for everyone’s taste but it brings back memories for me as I grew up in a country town without KFC any where near. So when ever we visited the big smoke, us kids would hoard the wet-naps and exchange them for favours or sell them at school for a dollar.
Oh course this fragrance is a lot better blended than a wet-nap and it evolves in scent over time but initial blast is my blast back in time.

I’m surprised that more people haven’t pointed it out yet – this is Acqua di Gio with a twist. Not quite as floral and the papaya subtlety modifies the fruity fare, but this is an aquatic in the same vein as AdG. I agree that the longevity on skin is poor but on clothes it’s much more persistent (4-5hr of reasonable projection). On the scale with other AdG smell-alikes, this is better than average but not special. Because it’s cheap, I’d recommend it to those seeking a subtlety tropical aquatic which is done well, and smells natural. 7/10

i pretty much fancy the bottling design although the cap feels kinda cheap; the juice is pleasantly fresh and clean and masculin (Not smelling as cheap as it costs) but so light that can’t feel any real longevity or even sillage on my skin. After some minutes it’s like i am not wearing any cologne. It’s probably one of those that everyone understand its sillage but you! Probably another cult fav? Totally in the fresh/clean category; like!

A fresh and pleasing fruity, fresh floral fragrance with marine notes. The marine notes make this a refreshing scent. There is a soapy quality to this too. The dry down stays zingy, sweet and fresh. Longevity is only moderate at best. Nevertheless, Paradise is a really pleasant Summer scent that you can spritz at will on holiday.

This is an excellent cheapie. A nice marine, papaya note at the top mixed in with some florals. The base contains some of the mid and top but you’re ultimately left with a nice, light sweet musk. I get 6 hours out of this fragrance. I can see how some will mistake this scent as poor quality with a scented lotion vibe; however, this scent flourishes on skin and develops quite nicely. Give it a try. I have received nothing but good feedback with this one.

I was hoping for something fun and different but it’s nothing special to my nose. I have a slew of bargain colognes and will continue to buy more but this smells exceptionally dull.

My Fiance has this, it smells lovely. Really fresh & masculine. It lasts a long time on his skin too.

Its nice but very short lived. Dries down to a skin scent in one and half hour, and completely gone within three hours on my skin.

Not a typical aquatic-fruity… it has an oriental, incense-y feel from the pale, patchouli-sandalwood base, and the green-herbal notes in the heart are striking! I got about 7 hours tops on this one (with the last three being pretty close in sillage/skin-scent)- which I actually like for a day frag. Very nice, and the bottle design- quite serene.

It was a blind buy due to the bottle design.,.,, good scent but had to give it away quickly because of it’s lasting power. Good price though, would pick it up again if stranded whilst travelling.

  31. :

It was exactly what I was looking for but it was so weak and short lasting. I used up the whole bottle faster than Bath and Body’s Ocean. And I was dumping that on like a splash.

Almost sort of Candy Like to me. Soft floral and candy mixed in. I love this scent, its nice and soft a good summer fragrance!!!!

  33. :

    3 out of 5

I really like the way this smells. I can live with this no problem. The projection is weak and longevity is short but I still love it.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

This smells great. A fruity tropical feel (from the papaya) with a freshening, gently sharp green note that makes it feel clean rather than sweet. It becomes a little more floral and develops a gentle muskiness. Lovely smell throughout.
It is subtle and natural. Definitely one for hotter weather. Projects gently for 3 or 4 hours. Longevity is better (at least on me) than some other reviews suggested it would be. With a couple of extra sprays compared to my normal 2 I get a good 7 to 9 hours BUT it is subtle and lays close to the skin for half of that. That’s without resorting to spraying it on clothes etc.
It seems to be one of those scents that your nose gets used to very quickly – if I rest my nose and don’t constantly check it I’ll notice it again. And if I warm it up it gets a new lease of life. It lasts much better (or is more easily noticed) on hot skin so I think longevity will be fine in the summer.
If natural, clean, subtle, fruity, gently masculine and summery are what you are after then this is a very good scent.
[You’ll have to make your own mind up about the longevity – some clearly have a big problem with the lasting power of this one.]

Paradise by Alfred Sung starts off nicely fruity with a green aromatic quality on my skin like a raw melon rind and riped sweet papaya (mouth watering combo!) It’s slightly sweet and watery, and it gets really musky just after an hour. I love musky scent but I wish this fruity top would stay around longer. Overall, it is light and fresh. Definitely very natural feel. Nothing really artificial here. Anybody could love and enjoy a little bit of this Paradise.
Thank you Gypsy for a nice sample. Now I want more! 🙂

Excellent very GREEN scent that is quite affordable (got my 3.4oz.EDT on-line for under 20.00)and easy to find in the bargain stores…
This opens with a superb blend of salty sea scent mixed with papaya’s juicy sweetness but is not overly fruity or aquatic. The spices are smooth and the rosemary lends an herbal freshness into the mix without being too sharp. Quite different. Despite the mixed bag of notes, this is very pleasing. Sung’s website mentions a splash tonic accord in this and I suppose if this were splashed on it would have quite an invigorating effect. As it begins to dry the carnation’s dry floralcy becomes apparent sweetened by warm amber and at this point becomes more refined and elegant than natural and fresh. The simple earthy/oriental drydown of sandal, ambre and patchouli, so common in mass-market designer scents, brings this home in a clean way that is anything but common. A very well-executed fragrance. Another win for Team Sung…
    Sillage: decent
    Longevity: above average
    Overall: 4.25/5
Such a shame that AS only ever released three men’s scents. I would love to smell his interpretaion of a woody oriental, citrus gourmand or even a male chypre scent. Each of the three are different and well-done, no flankers or seasonals here. Just good scents and good sense…

I’ve been buying Paradise for my man since it first came out. I just love this scent, it’s so fresh and vibrant. Sorry to see it get discontinued, but hooray, so inexpensive now! The ocean water was a nice surprise, I’ve never smelled that in my own girly-girl perfumes before. Maybe the saltiness reminds me of sweat, which I find kinda sexy on men. The papaya is applied in just the right amount to bring a tropical, summery feel without smelling like a fruit salad. In a few hours, he’s left with a clean, musky scent which endures most of the hot summer day. So sexy.

  41. :

    5 out of 5

Not strikingly original, but very refreshing. I smell a ton of pine up top (I guess it could be the rosemary), then it settles about 1/2 hour into something quieter and more thoughtful. The musk anchors it well to my skin.
While I love the chunkiness, shape, and color of the bottle, I think the cap cheapens the overall look. A burnished silver cap would have made it a much more elegant bottle to display. Small quibble, though…
