This is so much better than I thought! After a brief battle with the spritz(the bottle design is not the most user friendly….) I was greeted by a very soft, spicy oud which is more on the medicinal side yet not harsh at all, or acrid. The addition of musk and sandalwood mellowed what would otherwise have been a stronger oud. The second phase reveals more the floral side and the spice is replaced by the fresher whiff of fruit but not sweet. The rose here has a gentle, powdery, lipstick like vibe that mixes really well with the fruit, like one smudged Revlon Rouge on a fruit perfumed napkin. I can detect myrrh, black tea and patch throughout. There is an almost retro, vintage character apparent but cannot say that the scent smells dated at all. Very feminine and gentle. This is not in the league of Oud that I usually go for but, nevertheless, a great one for a beginner. If the real, almost feacal, McCoy scares the hell out of you but still want a softer taste of it then this is the ideal oud, even if not realistic.

I let myself being spritzed with this at a local shop – they are selling it at a discount. Very very soft, no sillage, 2/3 hrs persistance but close to skin.I had never tried oud before, wich might explain my almost not perceiving it. No plum, no black tea, just an old, sligthly withered, nice rose. Heavy breathing on my wrist conjures up some patchouly, and a soapy feeling (Blueviolet mentioned Infusion d’Iris, which sounds like a blasphemy but is quite true). That is strictly all. No scent, no party. Glad I tried, at least it is not another sweet white flower extravaganza.

I am not very experienced with fragrances other than I like them or I don’t. Always loved it though and I never leave the house without.
I was looking for an Oud fragrance and the ones I really like are a little too expensive for me at the moment…bought too many bottles the last few months. Because of the reviews on here I bought this one blind because it is so cheap and received it today. Was disappointed the first few minutes, found it very sharp and a bit cheap. Very soon though it changed and I found it really warm and I actually quite like it now. I find silage disappointing and I had to spray a few times today to be able to smell it myself. Although I really like it I will continue my search for an Oud a little bit stronger.

Thank you Soo much, Mona-Jo, for this wonderful giveaway! You’re sweetness itself!
I recognize a light airiness often in tea scents, but black tea was still the big surprise in this. The citrus blends extremely well with it and makes the oud light and Spring-like. The plum, sweet rose, and myrrh all blend into a slightly fruity edge that makes the whole quite palatable to the “new-to-Oud” !
Moderate sillage and longevity. This would be wonderful in mild weather. If you’re having a dull day, it’s a great pick-me-up!

A very pleasing oud, perfect for beginners to the genre who enjoy florientals.
While it is gently sweet, this is nowhere near the sweetness of a gourmand, and the citrus and tea leaves prevent any cloying effect. In fact, everything about this fragrance is gentle and well blended. All notes delicately support each other, quietly doing their part. Lovely.
Plum seems to add a wee touch of balsamic goodness to this otherwise clean construction, possibly the source of sweetness some mention. Nothing – oud, musk, or plum – is strong enough to offend the average perfume lover, and fans of Overt ouds may have to look elsewhere for their thrills. But I am very pleased.
Oud pour Elle is beautifully WEARABLE, the sort of scent that is office appropriate without ( thank Heaven ) boring this fragrance lover to tears. You can wear Pour Elle in enclosed spaces without fear of alienating everyone. So go ahead, enjoy! <3
In short, Alyssa Ashley seems to have another winner on their hands. 😀
Update – After wearing Oud pour Elle off and on for over a year now, I am drawn more and more to her. She is – over everything else – bright and cheerful!
As to longevity and sillage, both are greatly increased by spraying under or on clothing to trap the scent in fabric fibers. With this application method, Elle lasts me all day and surrounds my spirit with exotic sunshine.

I blind bought and am surprised at the sweetness of this fume.I won’t say I dislike it but it isn’t a safe blind buy.Sweet cloying synthetic oud with an initial citrus blast.Very long lasting for the price this is not bad at all just not for me on it’s own but as a base layer for other fumes it’s great.

Smells just like “arabic perfumes” does…
I like it a lot, but I wont wear it during the summer. It’s a “Winter perfume”.

This smells just like Prada D’iris on me. But with poorer staying power.
    So, that’s it really.

I BOUGHT YESTERDAY BOTH ALYSSA ASHLEY’S OUD AND PATCHOULI. PATCHOULI FOR MY WIFE AND OUD POUR ELLE FOR ME!. OUD IS GREAT, LONGLASTING AND A WOODY AND NICE FRAGANCE. IN MY OPINION IS CLEARLY MASCULINE. I’M ENJOYING MY FIRST OUD DAY, STILL FEELING IT AT THE END OF THE EVENING.

I bought it from a friend and it’s so awful. It’s all oud and nothing else, my worst blind buy ever. TRY IT before you buy, don’t do like me.
    Update!
I read stephans review and tried it on my husband and oh dear it smelled so good and totally different on him so I gave the bottle to him.
    Thank you stephan!

I ordered this on the official website. Packaging was perfect and I received 4 samples. I bought this bottle blind, and I thought I was buying Oud pour Lui. When I received this bottle, I checked my order again and I realized I made a mistake. But this was a good mistake. This smells better for me than the Oud pour Lui, that smells like incense but not oud. Oud pour Elle for me smells similar to Oud Kurkdjian and even better, for a fraction of a fraction of the price. Both are not very obvious oud based fragrances. They also have similar staying power and sillage, moderate but not poor. Thumbs up. I’m a man and I wear this with confidence, it is not masculine, it is not feminine, it just smells very good! Best blind buy ever.
