Description

“Today, Lancôme has appointed some of the greatest contemporary perfumers to pay homage to Lancôme’s founder, Armand Petitjean. The result is Maison Lancôme’s new collection of fragrances that so exquisitely touch upon and carry on Petitjean’s dream, and the essence of the House itself.

This new High Perfumery experience takes a creative stance: the very French art of blending. Each fragrance is crafted in the same manner that one composes a wine of the most superior grade (Grand cru), with a combination of varieties, origins, and extractions that are all specially selected according to precise criteria.” – a note from the brand.

Oud Bouquet was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Fabrice Pellegrin.

Hey, an oud I actually like! This smells like the taste of a good whiskey with a dash of sweetness. Perfectly unisex. Good cold weather wear, it smells so hygge! This is a warm blanket in front of a cozy fireplace while the northern lights dance outside in a bottle. I’ll be wearing this constantly this winter.

Beautiful. If you love previous version of Oud Bouquet, you will love this one, too.

This Oud Bouquet version is more of a woody praline Oud fragrance, a little drier and much warmer, and the rose note appeared as just a sheer veil on top. The previous Oud Bouquet version has more rose and it is florally sweeter. I wore this version on the coldest days of the year and I even could detect a “cinnamon” vibe from it. None of these Oud Bouquet has Arabian vibe, because they don’t have strong spicy smell, nor incense to my nose. I found this one more unisex than the previous one, due to the intensity of wood in it.

rose, oily oud and a sweet praline; the base is an oudy praline, the top was like most other rose-oud combos; nothing special; in the final drydown it is all about the praline and is a gourmand fragrance with a hint of woodiness.

@Usagichan44…you can dilute it. Go to a perfume supplier’s site online like creatingperfume or perfumer’s apprentice and order some perfumer’s alcohol and some ipm. I would suggest mixing them both together and then in a decant bottle spray 3/4 oud bouquet and 1/4 alcohol/ipm mixture but test with small amounts first to get the right mixture to your own liking…:-)

What should I do? I live for the bottle and the scent, bit I know that this is so strong that offends people around you. How can I justify the price for a very very special occasion perfume. If only this came in 30 ml!

My skin does not like Oud. It turn barnyardshit-alike. Soft but there. Every scent I tried with oud – same effect. Sadly. bad skin chemistry I guess.

I love gourmand fragrances especially chocolate notes. Incredibly difficult to find a fragrance with good quality chocolate note. Lancome Oud Bouquet straight of is a Rose well blended with gourmand and woody notes . I think roses have been masterfully worked in such a way they smell chocolaty. The oud is noticeable but not loud whereas Guaiac wood imparts the woody nuances to the fragrance . Its been quite while since I have tried a good gourmand fragrance. Lancome has been extensively covered by most reviewers and they are right about it . The fragrance stands by the hype and I would consider this a very romantic affair of the perfumer with Chocolate or Praline note.
Its a skin scent to me with good gourmand class longevity of 8+ hours.
Other Notable chocolate based fragrance I have is pink champagne truffle by Panah.

This is lovely! But it smells very very close to Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon which is a lot less expensive. Both have similar sillage and longevity as well.

As it turns out, this is not the same as the previous version, less rose and less praline, but the bottle is astonishing
